Her full name was Laura Ann Branigan, hailing from Irish and Italian ancestry, born in New York on July 3, 1952. From a young age, she harbored a passion for both performance and music. Facing financial ...
My wife loved The Carpenters! We sang karaoke to all her hits!
Next to my wife Karen was my favorite singer.
Success and fame in her music killed her. Should know when to quit.
She shouldn't have dated celebrities but found a simple normal man that might have solved her problem
Karen had the voice of an angel. She loved playing the drums 🥁 and singing Behind the drums, but richard wanted karen too sing out front. Karen was not happy about it. I feel this was her down fall. I miss how many new songs she would have by now if she was alive. ❤❤
While iam sure her ex husband was a snake, sadly Karen already had many issues and abused her own body for many years😢
An absolute tragedy of such a great talent.
I loved Karen Carpenter. I would have given anything to marry her. Having said that, her death was inexcusable. All she had to do was eat. Period. I lived during that time, I know all about Anorexia Nervosa. It's a real disorder, yes. But she should have listened to others concerns and ate. 80% of the world don't have the luxury of refusing food. No excuse or sympathy for her death. Just anger. It never had to happen.
I thought Richard, of all people, was her rock and support. But he was jealous of her? How pathetic! Karen's mellifluous voice still haunts most of us today. She has a distinct beautiful voice like no other.
An angel, but I don't like the AI voice.
It’s unreal what a unloving family can do to the psyche, it sounds like her brother was dominating too as well as the parents!
V sad.
We always loose the best of the best it seems.....
“Theres a kind of hush “ and i still have the original LP . From Mumbai, India.
Greatest Female ever exist on planet.
Yesterday once more, from Malaysia
Her brother stopped her playing the drums then he stopped a record that she had made with her own money from being released as he knew it would show she didn't need a piano player, she was the shining star he was just riding the gravy train.
My favorite my best singer and her songs. Her voice very very sweet No two. She is the only one. I am from Yangon Burma, Myanmar.
I'm in Yorkshire, UK and my favourite of theirs is Superstar, which I like to sing at the karaoke
Watching from Ireland 🇮🇪 and have loved the Carpenters for decades ❤❤
IK would have married her a 1 million times
Karen's mother is a narcissist right up to the very end, the CBS documentary where she farcically appeared as Karen's loving mother. What a flunky!😢
Gone are those days of melodious songs with the untimely death of Karen carpenters. I like her songs - top of the world - yesterday once more - sing a song along with others
There was no God in their life or God is not priority and that is a sad realization.
She sings with such a tenderness - I wonder how she cultivated that with a selfish brother and bulldog parents. Well done.
MY DAD REALLY LIKED HER MUSIC..
I think about how she would’ve been a star for decades - such a completely velvety, silky voice.
The Greatest Voice ! LEGEND ! We miss you, Karen, RIP. !
Damn good music....brings tears to my eyes ❤
It's ironic that you're talking about someone's voice when you're using an old and tired AI voice.
Everybody loves Love. Everyone feels a broken heart. She touched our hearts.❤
Close to You was EVERYWHERE. ALL the time. Just amazing hit.
My late husband and I got married after 11 days. We adopted their song "For All We Know" as our marriage theme song. He passed just before our 50th.
The most amazing, evocative female singer of all time. So sad Karen couldn't realize how many people around the world loved and adored her. She was beautiful as she was and didn't need to worry one iota about her weight. Her mother was wicked as was her manager. Richard had talent in music, but Karen - the voice of an angel, she was the true gifted talent. She should have dumped her entire family and gone solo!
When I was a child, the Carpenters were so big, popular, and prominent! I loved their music, Karen's voice was amazing, and they were always playing on the radio! Such a tragic loss! Memories forever.
There nothing so evil as acontrolling mother
Remember those days well. Her voice was like butter RIP sis you left the world a better place ❤
She was not loved by her family but she is loved by the world❤❤❤❤Rest in Peace and Love❤.
Brings back good memories loved her songs
my favorite ❤karen
The greatest female vocalist l've ever heard...l love her voice, still listening to this day..a tragedy.
Love her and her voice sad when we lost her
Their Christmas album was one of the most sold ever!
She was brilliant. Still listen to her songs. Hate the BEEP being used. It is very annoying.
How could her mother withhold the words "I love you" that was torture. Just evil
The greatest female singer of all time. My favorite till now.
I hate the ridiculous beeps in this video.
The high priests of the media magazines tell you you are overweight! Really! Who are they to talk?
Definitely loved her !
Love everything she sings... Awesome voice... Checking in from Jamaica. Good one..,!
