The replacement USB charging port from Wit Rigs had the white signal cable installed. @3:42 getting it plugged in was the hardest part of this repair. Trying to keep my V40 Thinq going because I am a fan of the Quad DAC and audio jack, which I also replaced. Great video. Glad I did this.
I really miss the days before glue. When I could snap off the back cover, pull the replaceable battery, remove screws, and be in without dealing with heatguns and adhesives and shims.
They don't allow battery to be replaced that easy, because it is a greedy world now a days. If something needs battery replaced and it still works fine, you need to buy whole new phone, which is very dumb, but hey that is what greed does.
Thank you for the video! Allowed me to change that charge port for way less than the local shops were asking. Yours must have been pre-disassembled (at least partially) though, I had a lot of glue holding that actual charge port board in place. Thanks again!!!
flex cables and all kinds of things you can break a business also has to pay the retail front to be there think 3 to 5 k per month plus other expenses that have to be added to the cost of repairs to even make money
Was able to change out USB port with a $10 part and a $10 took kit. The local shop wanted $90. But how come no one mentions that the reassembly portion of the video skips over reinstalling a couple of parts previously removed?

Don't forget to remove ya Sim tray.. Err don't be too stoned when u perform it either... This phone is pretty solid but my charge port won't work at all.. Its only a month old asurion insurance replacement for the original one I've had since Feb 2019 up til my nephew dropped a wrench on the screen... It's supposed to be refurbished in like new quality and the replacement did look good but it failed the month later

LG Should have kept the removable battery with the LG V10 and V20, however, then they sell fewer phones in the long run. ;-(
Thank you. Fixed my LG v40 using your instructions.👍
