Using this tutorial, I successfully replaced my Lg V40s LCD+Digitizer with no issues. All systems are functional. But be aware that getting under the backplate and\or the screen will be the most challenging part of this operation, DO NOT RUSH. My screen was cracked with multiple fracture lines running to the edges and it made pulling the screen from the adhesive VERY CHALLENGING.
Thanks for the non-caveman demo. Watching and working with my dad on electronics since the early 70's made the brute force tactics in other install videos leave me surprised the phones functioned at the end.
Ok, good demo. However, exactly how was the adhesive done? Is there a gasket type application for this or is it a liquid from a tube, etc. that needs to be very carefully applied? My glass recently started to lift in one corner. I think all I need is to glue it back down. Thanks!
I'm trying to decide if it's worth fixing in 2022..... I liked my phone very much. Or should I buy something different. Suggestions??? I hate deciding.
Damn this looks like it's going to be very hard, I think I can pull it off though. I just upgraded to the V60 but I would like to fix my v40 screen and maybe do the battery while it's open. My screen actually still works fine, would it be possible to just replace the glass? How much does the screen cost?
Question please. Which one should i buy lcd with frame or no frame? I thing with frame easier to install. But is it same exact? Or i might loose some original part?

@@EricWitrigs hi Eric. Yes the phone has been dropped and i changed the screen. The old screen in another phone Is ok. The new screen makes again this problem. Thank you for answering .
if ur screen is crack u can just replace the top screen ..this vid is replacing the entire top frame due to it not responding to touch and or black spots on screen..
When I bought the V40 I thought it had unbreakable/Gorilla glass. My shock when I discovered my phone's glass wasn't unbreakable ! Now I am having to watch this video wondering why he is taking the whole phone apart just to replace the front glass.
He’s not doing that. He showing you the complete tear down of every part. Move the timing marker all the way to the end if you want to see how to replace just the digitizer. But note you have to take the back off as well as the screen on the front in order to get it done.
@@mrsandroks sandro, Because you still have to unconnect the flex cable to the panel and the connection is around on the back side underneath the cover.

Have to take the back off to disconnect/reconnect screen flex cable..
Yes the back glass still needs to me removed along with the PBA covers. but still worth it if you can find the just the screen for a good price.
@@mitchellsese I didn't understand. Why does he need to open back glass to replace frontal painel??

so can it maintain IP68 if doing those procedure properly? thx xD
Hell no.. He just ruined the water resistance and he forgot to put the earphone screw back on
as long as you get the right adhesive, heat the phone(heatgun) and press it properly. it should be still retain some water resistance.
@@mitchellsese but for emergency only. Dont try put a smartphone on water
I can't believe the screen replacement cost $198.00
