Your videos always make me smile more often laugh out loud . So enjoyed the blue bells the wind can be so frustrating getting those micros happens here at the Marshwalk in South Carolina that i have now started to bring a wind tarp I normally use for my beach days with my grand kiddies .sometimes it works and others not too much . Better luck next week hopefully it doesn't rain every day . Stay dry
Another great video Courtney. Loved the teleport at the beginning. Like you said there is only so many photograph's that you can take of bluebells, then it gets boring. You captured some really nice image's as usual.
Courtney there is something wonderfully simple and accessible that you do with these videos that resonates with the experience of us 'normal' photographers, and yet at the same time is profoundly inspiring. I like the 9x16 image best....I think, but then switching back and forward between them the square crop is beginning to grow too. Now, if only I could fix my teleport machine (it needs a flux capacitor or something) I'd could be off to my own woods in between dad taxi duties!
Hope on your round 2 you can be satisfied with your photos 🙂 By the way, when are you going to do a teletransportation tutorial? It would be an awesome gift for humanity 😁
Courtney....it's the same as here in Texas with our fields of Bluebonnets. They are beautiful and captivating but five shots in have become so-what. The trick as I've found it is to use those elements that you would normally be drawn to - an old odd stump, a crusty old building half fallen that makes you wonder about who built it and why it was abandoned, a fence line and gate that display years of quiet service...and compose around those as you normally would but have the parenthetical of the blooms as background/foreground decoration to splash about the image instead of being the objects of focus.
Courtney, the photograph of the 9:28 bluebells up against the beech tree is sensational. Because the beech bark is relatively ‘smooth’ with its silvery/grey hue, it makes the colour and texture in the bluebell flowers stand out. I miss bluebells and in the 23 years of living in New York, I have only once been back to England during bluebell season. I think I could sit in a bluebell wood all day. There is a carpet of Spanish bluebells in Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, which are not quite the same, but I might get myself over there this weekend to look.
Courtney, you are a real gem. I always enjoy your adventures, the beautiful images you create, and your totally normal human being way of going about it. Your arrival in the forest by teleportation was cute, and adds a bit extra to the enjoyment of your videos. Very nice, once again.
Beautiful images and the blue bells are incredible. I think I liked the blue bells and bark shot best. Wind is the bane of macro flower shooting. It seems to always pick up soon as I compose a shot! It's been rainy here in California as well. So sick of it. No really warm days yet but they are coming. Thanks for the hike in the woods Courtney!
That's why I hike Newport Beach the beach is usually open compared to the hiking trails. The last time I hiked Powder Canyon I couldn't see the trail because of the 8 foot high Mustard
My favorite video endings are when you post some of the day's photos. The first photo of the curving trail through the bluebells is a favorite. Great composition.
Some of the blue bell images would make ideal note cards. I liked the image of the bottom of a tree trunk with a few blue bells in focus (approx 4:25) the best.
Oh bluebells! The scene just looks so peaceful and so springy! I really liked the 9-16 crop at the beginning, it really worked well with the scene in front of you. Have a wonderful day!
Hi Courtney thanks. It is the effort that matters. As in life so too in photography we need some luck.like favourable weather.as you know Blue bells are notorious to photograph. Best luck next time. Your fern was the best.best wishes. One tip for you will be to check the weather in BBC and Clear Outside . Clear Outside gives you Cloud cover Wind Humidity.
The Bluebells are certainly out in force this year! I was down at one of my local areas of woodland yesterday and there was lots of them.. Not quite carpets of them, but still enough to make some nice images!
Still...a very beautiful area and nice compositions. With the 'windy bluebells', I wonder how a long exposure would have worked to show a nice blurred wave of color as the forest floor? Thanks for the video!
Nice watch. Know exactly what you mean about the blue bell thing - sometimes as much as they look great it can be very samey.. loved the shot of the bark n bluebells btw - so this year I was actually thinking og giving them a miss. Then yesterday out on a drove I passed the patch I normally photograph and could resist a look. Didn't take many images but had a wonderful wander around in the rain, dappled light and some thunder - wonderfully atmospheric.. at one point I pressed record on the canmera and captured the scene for abt 35 seconds - a mix of dappled liught, blubells, thunder and birdsong.. it made my day. I am due out tomorrow so might come across bluebells but atm the spring greens are what are attracting me to the woods. Beautful array of bluebells on that 1st wood you visited... atb Al
Thanks for sharing your wonderful images and, adding some humor. Your location seems magical. Keep thinks about your macro image; the wind is a problem. I shoot grasses and lavender have the same problem. Someone suggested I should make use of the wind for a blurred abstract look. Have you tri😅wind shield? Long lens isolation maybe. Don’t want to spoil your a ha moment. So I anxiously await your sure to be interesting solution(s). 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Such beautiful images. And as always, a giggle or two. I may have said this on your last video, but if so, here I go again... I'm soooo jealous of your bluebells - even if you do get bored of them. We don't have them here in Nova Scotia.
Thanks Courtney for sharing your experience....I thought the images were very good...the colour separation was great...don't be too hard on yourself...I have never seen a bad photo from you.... love your work.... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘❤
I had exactly the same problem with the wind (weather, not the other sort!) the other day. In the end I managed to use myself and also my camera backpack at 90 degrees to form a wind baffle. It worked long enough to get the close up, but it is a nightmare focussing when everything is swaying! Great video, looks like a wonderful location for spring.
That carpet of bluebells was amazing, and I did like very much the pics that you took. Hopefully, you will be able to get your bluebell macro on your next outing.
It can get a bit busy amonst the blue but for the life of me im putting out a fourth bluebell video next Sunday 😂 i know, its excessive isn't it. Enjoyed your video and your unique presentation style very refreshing and i thought the images were great 👍
Thanks for the inspiration. Been looking for a channel like this for a while. I’m trying to create a similar thing on my channel. I look forward to watching your future content :)
Your videos are always fun and interesting!!! Lol never a dull moment!!! I'm sorry about the wind and weather not cooperating with you! Hahahaha been there done that too!!! As always I can't wait to see your next video adventure!!!👍👍👍
Beautiful area and photos, Courtney. I recently found your channel and have been going back to view your earlier videos. I enjoy your approach and sense of humor. I noticed that one of the lens you use often is the Nikon 24-120mm. I am looking for something in that focal length for use on Nikon D7500 crop sensor camera. From your experience with the lens, would you recommend it?
I have that same macro lens (for Canon) and wonder whether you reconsidered getting rid of it. I'll acknowledge it has a noisy and slow focus mechanism but in all other regards it is excellent.
Your bluebells reminds me of the bluebonnets here in Texas. We have had several bumper crops and I got burnt out on photographing them. Sometimes, you can have too much of a good thing. :)
What a beautiful forest! Would be curious to see a shot of the windblown Bluebells blurred out with the tree all sharp and in focus. Kind of like an ocean with trees 🙂 Another enjoyable video. Cheers
I know what you mean when you got "bored" with the Bluebells. If there is a proliferation of the same subject matter it can overwhelm our senses quite easily. Fab images by the way :)
We have bluebells here in the states but they don't grow wild in such large patches at least not where I live. But we do have other blue wildflowers that grow in patches or small groups that are quite pretty to look at. As the warm seasons progress we have what I consider to be a predictable perhaps unique cycle of flower colors in my part of the country it starts with the magenta/pink blossoms soon joined by yellow and as they start to fade the whites and blues start by this time it's pretty much a free for all till it gets closer to autumn then the magenta/pink flowers are back joined by the yellows again with the small white daisy like blossoms being the last right up to the first real frost. as a treat those last blossoms will sometimes turn a light blue, lavender,or even a reddish pink. unfortunately I have to work and that nasty four letter word interferes with my ability to actually enjoy this hobby but that retirement days coming soon then the boss can just go...lol you can fill in the blanks😂
Hi Courtney, love your work. So now you are using d850. Im no expert, amateur landscape and do little bit of portrait work too. Thinking of upgrading my current d7200 n d5200. Looking at few options like used d750, z6, d850 or new z6ii.can you givee me any advice on what would you think that do bit of everything. If i buy a camera i have no intention to change it for next 5,6 years. Thanks❤
We're spoiled for bluebells in Wales this time of the year and I've tried to get a satisfying picture of them over and again but I never come away feeling satisfied that I've really captured the awe of a completely blue/purple forest floor :/
Here in Oregon I have to do my macro right at sunrise and it only takes about a half hour to one hour before the wind comes up and ruins the chances for the rest of the day. I look at the plants in my yard at home before setting out to see if there is any hope.
I went to that big woodland of bluebells in Wiltshire last year. I know what you mean about being bored of them. I didn't even edit a quarter of the images I took!!
Dear Courtney Victoria, I am more and more entranced by the professionalism and at the same time simplicity with which she faces every shooting situation. Compliments. Finally, not knowing how to write to you privately, I take the liberty of booking myself as a buyer if you want to sell one of your camera bodies, to buy it. Thank you, Claudio from Italy Gentile Courtney Victoria, sono sempre più estasiato dalla professionalità e allo stesso tempo semplicità con cui affronti ogni situazione di scatto. Complimenti. Infine, non sapendo come scrivertiin privato, mi permetto di prenotarmi come acquirente qualora volessi vendere uno dei tuoi corpo macchina, per acquistarlo. Grazie, Claudio from Italy
Recently found this channel and am loving it so far. I think your images today came out wonderful. Especially the ferns. I really think the fact that you can teleport is cool. However, you need to work on not just your bag but your camera crew landing in the same spot as you also. Can you teach me how to do that?😁
Love those bluebells. You live in a very beautiful area Courtney. Great video, I loved the macro... so cool. You're "assistant" geez.... needs to work on her manners lol
I am still a beginner photographer and was just wondering why you don't crop in post? I would think it gives you more options to try what works best and maybe even use different crops in the end?
I like to try and get it right in camera as much as possible and with the D850 I can play around with cropping on location. Sometimes I will leave cropping to post if I'm not 100% certain on which I'm going to prefer, but I do like to play with that square crop while I'm in front of my subject.
I'm always impressed by the structure to your process.
Great video moves and filming...and most important stunning photo's...as a landscape photographer you are my favorite!!!
Your videos always make me smile more often laugh out loud . You really do have a delightful and gentle sense of humor, I just have to say.
I love the random dance sessions - priceless!
Beautiful work , and thank you for sharing this with us all.

Bluebells and bark is a stunning image. Well done 💪
That's great to hear you like that image! Thanks!
Well, even if you were disappointed, I wasn’t! Those images are wonderful. OTOH, if your dissatisfaction means we get another video, I'm all for it!
Courtney, you are a real gem. I always enjoy your adventures, the beautiful images you create, and your totally normal human being way of going about it. Your arrival in the forest by teleportation was cute, and adds a bit extra to the enjoyment of your videos. Very nice, once again.
Very nice, the Bark and Bells image was stunning!
Very nice. You should be pleased with those shots. Your also a joy to watch.
Really I enjoyed your video and the wonderfull images! Again.
Fun to watch!
How magical that scene with bluebells and the tree, another enjoyable video, thank you
Great video Courtney, thanks for share your funny and photography moments. Kind regards.

Oh bluebells! The scene just looks so peaceful and so springy! I really liked the 9-16 crop at the beginning, it really worked well with the scene in front of you. Have a wonderful day!

Just beautiful, simple compositions. If it rains, the green on the leaves will really look intense, so it may not be such a negative!😊
Still...a very beautiful area and nice compositions. With the 'windy bluebells', I wonder how a long exposure would have worked to show a nice blurred wave of color as the forest floor? Thanks for the video!
I did consider trying this but admittedly I had tunnel vision on getting some close up stills of the bluebells ha! Thanks!
Wonderful forest.
Love your videos always fun and informative 🔥🔥🇬🇧

Ooh! indeed. Lovely shots again. Don’t know why but I saw those curly ferns as monochrome Courtney ✌️🌻
oooh I'll give this a try and see how it looks!
A really wonderful video this week, as always 👍
The bluebells and bark image was really gorgeous!
Love the beginning and ending! And I did enjoy the bluebell images.

Bluebells are fleeting. Need to catch them while you can. Carry on. 👍🥂

Always enjoy your vlogs with a smile. Love the contrast betweem the bluebells and the bright green leaves. Sorry for getting in the way at the end :)

Shot at 3:34 is awesome.
Creative video… enjoyed it!

I think we're all looking for a unique shot that captures the magnificence of nature during this time of year, and it's not so easy ha!
Here in Oregon I have to do my macro right at sunrise and it only takes about a half hour to one hour before the wind comes up and ruins the chances for the rest of the day. I look at the plants in my yard at home before setting out to see if there is any hope.
I struggled too when I was in a local bluebell wood at the weekend. For me, the light wasn’t great. Your shots came out much better than mine though.
I went to that big woodland of bluebells in Wiltshire last year. I know what you mean about being bored of them. I didn't even edit a quarter of the images I took!!
now that you have me bowled over....😜
Are you getting the Z8 now that it has been released? 😊
Expensive
Afraid not ha! Although I did get to try one out for 5 minutes a couple of days ago, looks like a great bit of kit.

What an amazing woodland, please Miss Victoria i dropped you a insta. maybe next year ill take a trip down
Hi. Courtney. What lens were you using. Loved the content.
I was using a Nikon 24-120mm f/4 and a Sigma 70mm f/2.8 macro lens.
Hi. Thanks. Always look forward to your posts, always great content and funny.
If you use the tardis you’ll have fewer problems with being transported to the various locations. ;-)
Dropping a new video or dropping in, in a new video... 😉
Courtney!.....what camera do you use? Is it a Nikon D750?
In this video a D850, but I also have a D750 that I also use on my location shoots.
Love those bluebells. You live in a very beautiful area Courtney. Great video, I loved the macro... so cool.
You're "assistant" geez.... needs to work on her manners lol
Anytime someone asks what superpower you'd want, teleport is always my answer for this exact reason.
Imagine the time you could save!

@@CourtneyVictoria Thanks, that makes sense!
Maybe you are not satisfied, but the rest of us are. No boredom here for us.
Sci-fi Courtney.
Teletransportation ! Me thinks this is witchcraft. Ace photos by the way 👍
Beautiful shots and video...no dancing? ;)
Okay. It’s settled. We gotta get you on doctor who. :-)
Haha yes!
Needs more dancing 😂
Hate it when I walk through an unknown portal...
Maybe try some ICM next time?
