- In this video, I explore the Forest of Dean in search of some Autumn magic! While looking to practise my woodland photography, I instead come across an abundance of fungi. Good thing I had my macro lens in my bag!
Can you name the different species of mushroom in this video? Let me know in the comment section down below and thanks for watching!

Wow, the deer drive-by was truly remarkable! So glad you got that in frame. Epic reaction. :)
A truly primeval moment.
Autumn rut, fallow buck chasing does.
A GorillaPod would have been so useful for these low level shots. I have a normal tripod and a GorillaPod, and I end up using/bringing the latter a lot more than the bigger tripod.
I found you by accident. sensational material. calm and full of valuable information.
Love the dance, very funny.
06:47 woww 😍 that's one unforgettable moment, I'm glad you captured it
It was surreal! I bet that will never happen again haha.
Your channel was recommended and I'm pleased it was. These videos are an absolute delight to watch for seasoned photographers and beginners alike. Love your presentation and your simple but effective explanation of your thought process. I admire the fact you're using a DSLR in 2023 too, that's not something you see very often here in the RUclips photography scene. I have to say though, the thing I enjoy most about your videos is your dancing. Hah.
I do like your vlogging style Courtney. it playful.
Fantastic images, energetic dance and camera crisis. Can’t beat that!
Another lovely episode. Entertaining and inspiring. You really do a wonderful job with these videos.
Awsome like you allways do.
Great moves,shots and waffling...love it!!!
What an amazing video Courtney! Your genius is a pleasure to watch and those images are awesome, well done again and thank you.
awesome as always looking forward to the next one.
well impressed with the images, the way its presented is a joy to watch, even the dancing. :)
Wow amazing encounter
I am really inspired when I watch your videos you may even have me dancing when no one is watching, some really nice shots this week as always thanks for making another great show
Great photography as always and that trip sounds amazing! Can't wait to see what you end up producing!
You are a breathe of fresh air. Love your channel!
Courtney, you are a star! I love your sense of humour as well as the photos you take. Fabulous shots of the mushrooms!
Love your work Courtney‼️✌️🇦🇺
Wieder ein tolles, stimmungsvolles Video. Vielen Dank dafür.
Great photos, great footage and great dancing !! Good point about not just getting macro shot but the surrounding.
Love that first tree set👍
Enjoy your trip that sounds epic
Those shots of the mushrooms are awesome....
Gorgeous mushroom images.
Those are fantastic mushrooms shots! I love the one you focus stacked with all the small mushrooms! Great video!
Lovely video Victoria - congrats on the Antarctic trip - you will certainly raise the fun level.
Thank you for sharing this video! You get straight to the point and captivate my attention.
Great video. I loved that your just relaxing taking photos and the deer come for a visit. Still loving the dance moves.
Glad you are back at it.
Great video. Those deer were amazing. Congrats on stepping up to the big time !! Working with Simon, Rachael, and Brandon is impressive. Well deserved…
Courntney I love your videos you give me ideas of new things ti try and you make me smile
I'm glad you just happened to "pop" up on my you tube a week or so ago. I very much enjoy your videos and overall attitude towards photography .... you seem to be having so much fun and are not "distracted" by craving the latest and greatest gear - it IS the photographer NOT the gear that makes the photos. I sometimes drag out my old gear and marvel at how well it performs. You capture the fun and magical part of photography!
I'll be watching!!
Thank you for the video.
In the woods with a fun guy! Lucky you!
beautiful film
....... BEL VIDEO VICTORIA !!!!! LIKE !!!!!
Wow you are so funny, witty, amusing, crazy and cute! Not to mention the fact that you are a terrific photographer too! Lol you remind me of my niece!!! Wooow that was so cool how you planned it to have the deer run by on your command!!!! I love your videos you are awesome!!!!👍👍👍
Really amazing photos of the mushrooms, thank you Courtney for sharing this very enjoyable video.
Very nice! Thanks!
Nice, really NICE! 😁
Well done, another great video, see you next time.
Great video and the deer were a real bonus. As thoughtful as usual.
Supremely talented😍 & nice dancing skill too
Nice shots of the shrooms. Hope you have great weather and come back with some awesome shots and great memories of Antarctica.
Superb images
you give us a lot of Details in this one and Thanks Victoria 😺
You don't seem to have any luck at the moment with your gear, but it can only get better.
The deer running through was an awesome sight, i was jealous.
You captured some really nice image's of the mushrooms.
Great video!
Great video Courtney. New ball head, new backpack. Nice!
another great video and very nice macro photograhy
Very nice place! As I’ve gotten older I’ve abandoned carrying around the tripod but have used natural framing and edges for similar composition effects. You’re catching great soft light!
Fascinating ;)
Lovely just lovely Woodland .You made me laugh out loud from your stunned expression from the deer . Btw are my favorite to photograph at my local park . Thank you for an amazing video and your videos are a joy to watch😀
Lovely video, very inspiring.
Love the deer. Keep up the awesome work👍
Great shroom shots. Makes me want to break out the macro and go hunting. Also: THOSE DEER.
Having fun with fungi, eh? Nice project. 👍🥂
You are a macro photographer. These are lovely and the B-roll in your videos has some delightful detail shots. I woud encourage you to make another go of this. You have nothing to loose, except some new perspectives to solve visually. I enjoy your videos as well. Totally bingeworthy!
Thank you :)
Beautiful video Courtney.
Great video as ever 🙂, love the images.
Awesome Mushrooms photos, Ive always been the opposite to you regarding macro, I love the simplicity of macro and find wider shots more complex and harder to compose. Great to see the Deer roaming, must have been an awesome experience as brief as it was.
Beautiful shots Courtney!
Fantastic work, my dream camera is the Nikon D750 Camera
Do really enjoy your videos, excellently done and great images.
The stacking shot turned out well and clean, good job, plus I need that deer summoning dance class so badly.
Love a bit of craziness in a landscape photography vlog. Really good content 👍👍😬
Thank you James!
I'm a beginner who doesn't even have a tripod yet Of course, it's not enough to use a tripod yet
But this video made me reflect on a lot of things😃 Even a professional photographer like you is lying face down in the woods to take a picture of a mushroom I would have given up if I had to take a picture in a position where my clothes were bound to get dirty😅😅
The perspective and composition of looking at the subject is something you need to learn while taking pictures, I like your attitude toward photography very much😉👍
If you go to Antarctica, you will dance with penguins😄
Great video with some equally great photography - the deer were a lovely bonus! :)
The old tea towel, 101 uses - dry your hands, face, camera; drape it over the camera; put the camera on it, use it for padding.
Basic tools - the screwdriver on a swiss army knife would probably release the arca. Folding Allen keys for a bicycle. Try to avoid getting WD40 on plastics, a drop of gun oil (high quality light machine oil).
Great video Courtney and the shot “ Glowing “ is stunning 🔥🔥🇬🇧
I'm glad you like it Alan!
First time to your channel, subscribed. The look on your face at those deer, priceless moment !
Nice!!!
Well done, your videos are lovely 😊
Awesome footage. Isn't this why we all do this?
Love the mushroom shot
6:47 Man! That scene is amazing 😲What are the chances that they showed up at the same time you were recording your video. Awesome! 😲
By the way, I love the originality of your videos 😃🙌
I was quite startled ha! I was very happy when I realised I'd got the moment on camera.
@@CourtneyVictoria Yeah! I understand your surprise and happiness 😃
Hope, one day, another animal surprise "cameo" would appear 😁
Amazing photography 😍
I've never tried woodland photography but after watching your video I might give it a try you have some nice pictures I've been to lots of locations for wildlife like the new forest where I've seen some nice trees, I hope I can get as good you as you. Have a nice time in the snow.
Really Nice Images Courtney!
Thank you Nick!
Gorgeous photos of the fungi. Wish I could get out in woodlands and capture some. I think the deer (and stag) running through and you actually capturing them on camera is a once in a lifetime thing.
Deer are more common than most think in the forest, and bolder during rut. Humans are naturally rather good at stalking animals, if we are still in our movements we can get very close. I've had a deer run into me, and then, she was gone in a flash.
Thanks A Lot You Made My Day Keep Uploading Love Yr Content . Btw I also Own D750 And Yr Video Not Coming Slow Thanks For Making it.
That buck looked like a very determined fella, I think. Your ball head incident seemed like something I might do so I paused the video to check my camera bag. I was pretty sure that my L-bracket had the wrench built in to a slot on the bracket. Found it does not and finished the video. Lovely images and the videos are very well paced and produced. Keep up the great work.
You were truly blessed with an audience of deer. I thought that was really cool.
Thanks for this nice video like it very muce ole best from Peter in Thailand👌
NICE FRAMING AND COMPOSITION
Very good video lots of images and good discussion. Sorry about the gear problem.
Wow I can't wait to get my camera now. Getting a D750 with a few lenses to try. Really new to this and the video really gives a good insight :D thank you
thanks for sharing, very inspiring, grtz from the netherlands 🇳🇱
Wow. I’ve never been drawn to mushrooms but I need to reconsider….you shots are AMAZING
상세한 설명 고마워요
Thanks Courtney for sharing your experience....the pics are amazing as the colours are so beautiful....you are extremely good with your presentations as they are down to earth comments....the camera and lens combination really work well so maybe you need to use the 70mm more often... hope you fixed your equipment ok.... cheers from Australia 😀❤️
Wow, those deer were such a pleasant surprise.
Courtney Your channel came up as such suggestion by YT. i’m so glad it did cause I’ve enjoyed watching all your videos. I am interested in macro photography. Close up photography and nature photography. You do a great job. Presenting different topics revolving around your photography.
I am curious how are you film yourself? Are you? Are you doing it with the help of someone else?
❤
The photo at 11:39 was just soo Wow, love the one at 12:12 too. You are so funny in your videos. Please keep the Macro lens. You are good at this.
It was very helpful. Thank you. from Japan 😀😀😀
I just recently found your channel and I have to say - really nice videos! You give me a lot of inspiration.
What I really like is that you do DSLR photography, unlike majority of photographers on youtube. They keep saying DSLRs are dead, MILC are only choice... Your photos are great and prove this wrong. Although I have just D7500 (I wanted D780 but was over my budget) and just 2 lenses (so far) I will try some travels around.
Worst thing is that Flanders has not really many interesting places where you can find wild nature.
okay you laughing at yourself at @11:15 is the cutest thing in the world 😍
