BTW, just want to add this info: it's APS-C (1.6x) so adding that extra 1.5x crop in 4K does make the 11mm equivalent to a 24mm. Also, 4K 24p, 25p, 30p...1080p 24p/25p/30p/50p/60p. Oh, and you can change audio levels manually. Cheers....alright, back to bed now....zzzzzzzzzz.
knowing Canon they probably removed that option for this entry level camera and offer it for a new top model mirrorless... (stupid if the competition offers it on cheaper cameras, but that is Canon logic for you)
Marc knows what's up, that's the Canon way, if they were to give us 4K with dual pixel AF and no 1.6x crop, why would you need to buy the next model? Same reason they've taken so long with 4K to begin with, they definitely have the resources to pull it off properly, they're just waiting until their sales begin to decline before they actually do it. Truth is if a company brought out the "perfect product" then people would have no reason to get the next one. Every product needs to have a few simple faults that they can pretend to fix in the next iteration.
It's called the "Competition" Canon is not completing with Canon next model it's failing to compete with Sony's current models hence their days are numbered.
Not sure what you're trying to say but their days aren't numbered, they've got the largest marketshare right now and they're taking advantage of that by stalling the features of their lineup.
I remember when Lotus 123 had 95% of the spreadsheet market and wasn't worried about Excel, I remember when Kodak had 80% of the film market and thought digital was a few more years off than it was. I remember when IBM thought PCs where toys and everyone would still buy mainframes.
I'm actually excited about this despite the lack of dual pixel af in 4k mode. It's still has some nice features. I think I may need to pre order this thing and do a review.
Super crop applied to 4k and no dual pixel AF (a consequence of the crop) = squeezing 4K out of a camera not meant for it. Cropped 4K makes no sense. More resolution for less sensor data. The smartphone approach. That being said this thing is TINY and looks like it'd be a fantastic 1080p vlog cam.
Oh hey, a fellow G-series owner! Go to your picture profile and turn noise reduction to -5. Panasonic noise is like film grain and you won't believe what a difference it makes in apparent quality. Now you'll NEVER sell the G85, bwa ha ha!
Do you think that canon will come out with additional mirrorless cameras? This is the entry level, will they come out with a mid level and a pro mirrorless next? Maybe we will see it at NAB?
Got one of these. Low light focusing at 3.5f with the kit 18-150mm lens is fine. No complaints. It is only in almost total darkness that focusing fails.
We "normal" users use cameras for taking photos, or vlogging. For vlogging, 1080p is indeed the best. People who cry about 4k video can buy pro-models or camcoders. This is a mid-range semi-pro cam.
At 2:12 that was a "Lok" moment, I was so waiting for Lok to show up suddenly. That was a epic followup video mix of "Gordon" at the end. This camera is great as I expect the Canon M7, if there is one, to have everything from the M50 and M6 in one camera. That flip out screen and 4k in a compact camera from Canon, NICE :-D
In the sensor readout you can either read every line of pixels and get te crop that math gives you (this is what the M50 does), or read the full sensor and downsample that to 4K on the go (this is what expensive cameras with heat issues do) or have a native ~10 megapixel sensor and do a full readout without crop. Or have ~50 megapixel sensor and read every other line of it.
They either don't have the processing power onboard to do live downscaling or they do but it's going to cause heat issues. The imaging processor is an ASIC chip that could have a design bias torwards still processing because that's still the main market for the 5D series.
It's about time Canon got on board! I've had a Canon DSLR since the Rebel and never had another brand but them. I recently jumped ship for a GH5 which is an amazing camera. Look forward to a proper Canon again! Software, Software, Software. Canon please work on your Software!
So, what Canon have done here is try to create a best-of-breed Vlogging camera (1080p, mic input and dual pixel) but once again protect their cine-line cameras by omitting Dual Pixel with 4K. Also I suspect it may not have optimum codecs for videographers. I don't get it. If Canon gave 4K, with Dual Pixel and a good codec on this, the 80D and the 5D then they could totally crush the market.
Panasonic G7 with stabilized kit lens is 30% cheaper than this new Canon and with noise reduction set to -5 it shoots 4K video that looks amazing. Until Canon competes with that, they're dead to me. I don't even care about dual-pixel AF, I care about image quality and basic features. Does this camera even have an intervalometer/time lapse function? I seriously doubt it. I can't find any mention of it anywhere; it's literally the easiest feature to add to a camera (count off seconds, fire shutter) but Canon only puts it on cheap point-and-shoots and their more expensive DSLRs. They're super stingy.
It does have the DIGIC 8 processor already. I fully expect that it's been "hobbled" so they can release 4K with Dual Pixel in a more expensive model. I just think Canon could dominate the market for videographers and Vloggers. Meanwhile the market is moving to Panasonic and Sony. I don't have the PC power to deal with 4K (nor any 4K screens) so this may be an ideal camera for me. The price seems to be a plus point but the 1080p needs to be absolutely superb quality for me to be interested, Canon can't drop the ball on 1080p in 2018.
Again, look at Magic Lantern. When I had it on my T1i, the camera's processor was capable of cranking out higher video frame rates than the factory 1080@20fps and ML was able to crank that rate up, but the limitation was ultimately the SD card write speed, NOT the DIGIC 4 processor inside. Look up the ML RAW video capability comparison chart; the camera hardware was capable of a lot more but Canon limited the SD card write speed. Do you think the DIGIC 4 in the T1i was different from the far more expensive 5Dmk2? Nope, sure wasn't. The cheapest way to make different embedded systems that do largely the same thing and only differ in offered features is to make a single reference design and then tweak it slightly to cripple it for the cheaper models. The processors were somewhat different in later models but the point is that the camera processors were capable of more than what Canon actually allowed, and still are.
for vlogging need, the m50 seem to be a decent choice over the a6300 because of the flip screen(and canon skin tone), but for general video, some B roll or indoor vlogging, the a6300 is better choice because of the AF and better quaility 4K than the m50 and less cropping
depends what you're doing. this plus a c100 could be a good combo. but in many cases the a6500 or gh5 are going to be better options, if all that's outside you budget you might consider a secondhand gh4. EDIT taking a look at your videos I would say your videos look good as is, for your type of use (tripod shots) and a6300 would work better than the canon if you want 4k, if you don't want 4k and are just going to shoot in 1080p than pick the canon (the canon heavy crop and slow af in 4k make it bad for 4k). basically 4k go with sony, 1080p go with canon
that depends what glass you have. If you have canon glass - go with canon. If you have sony glass - sony. And if you start out - get both in your hands and see wich one you LIKE more - the feeling and handling in your hand is important aswell and often overlooked. If you hate picking up your camera ... how often will you use it? there is definetly a difference in handling - and back in the day I decided to go with canon (not nikon) because I liked the fitting to my hand much more.
+Vix M8 .......why? do you know how many professionalls I see still using c100 and c100 mkii ( a lot). they are workhorse cameras with professional xlr and nd filters, they downsample from 4k to 1080p in camera, put an atomos ninja star on the top handle and you now have a direct 1080p prores 422 files that edits like butter in any editor, and can be handed direct to tv stations. for documentry/event filmkmakers the c100 still kicks ass, and they are dirt cheap now. this person is not that though (they look to be a tech reviewer), who uses tripod shots, so they don't need a run n gun camera like the c100 or c100 mkii). so it looks like the a6300 would be better for them
I wish canon would sort their shit out and give us some really good lenses for the EF-M mount, yes i know you can adapt the EF lenses to these camera's, but it seems as if canon are not investing in the M lineup properly otherwise there would be better lenses than the ones currently available! I really love my M5 but the 15-45 kit lens is like shooting through a tupperwear box! Hopefully canon will give us a nifty 50 M lens... wont hold my breath though...
Alexandra Starr Photography well no, the thing with the lenses is that there is a limit to how physically small you can make a lens to still work with a sensor of that size. Canon aren't going to spend massive amounts of money to make an ef-m version of a lens they already have just to make it a few mm shorter, it's just not cost effective, especially considering they are almost certainly developing a full frame mirrorless system which will ether be EF mount or an all new mount because the current ef-m isn't designed for it. Just use it with the ef-efm adapter with a 50mm f/1.8
I get what your saying, it just seems like Canon are not that bothered about the M system yet their making waves with new camera's and it seems like lenses are an afterthought now. Ill be honest, i didnt pay for my M5, i won it in a competition, and coming from the Fuji X system which has some stellar lenses, the M series seems very lacklustre in comparison! But i will definitely buy myself a 1.8 50mm soon enough, once i buy a 150-600 sigma anyway, because that 50mm is quite hard to beat in the real world, its a fine lens!
Nope! Unless your a blogger you need awesome native glass & adapting full frame lenses is ridiculous. Its just Canon being Canon. They never bothered making pro ef-s glass for their aps-c DSLR's either which was a major reason they started losing so much market share to other companies.
A little too late... invested in the Fuji system after Canon’s inaction last year. (Waited anxiously for 2 years for the 6D MII and felt Canon was nickel and diming us on features that should have been built into a $2k+ camera so I sold my Canon glass and haven't looked back)
I was waiting patiently for the 5d4 to replace my 5dii's & in the meantime bought a fuji just for fun. The new Canon was way overpriced as well as the new versions of the L lenses & fuji lenses blew my mind. I ended up selling all the Canon & bought more fuji bodies & promised myself I'd only buy fuji primes but now I have 5 primes & two zooms.
I so badly want to love canon and give them my money but I just can’t. They always cripple their own products. Love dual pixel AF but at this point it’s the only thing Canon has on the competition.
Got a Rebel T6i to upgrade from my T1i when I moved into video and outgrew my Canon R60 camcorder. DSLR image quality: check...but then I got a Panasonic G7 less than a year later and almost immediately wanted to throw the T6i in the trash can. Canon's artificial market segmentation is total crap. It's insane that a $750 T6i doesn't have an intervalometer/time lapse function!
Ever heard of Magic Lantern? No? Go look it up sometime. I had it on a T1i many years back and it added features like focus peaking, intervalometer, rack focus, etc. Know how a lot of the fancy features were added? They simply turned on the features in the camera that are disabled or removed from menus in the stock firmware. So yes, smarty pants, they're crippling their cameras to segment the market. It's not rocket science. I have a G7 kit that you can buy for $500 while the T7i and M50 are both $750; the G7 has things like focus peaking and built-in intervalometer/time lapse that the Canons don't have, but not because Canon can't do it, just because Canon chooses to remove or disable those features in those cameras so you'll buy a 7Dmk2 instead.
Bullshit. the A6000 didnt shoot 4k. had no IBIS nor digital IS, had no flipscreen, the focusing was trash.. also the M50 is in a lower entry level segment than the A6000 was when it was released.
MikedieONE the focussing wasnt and isnt trash. Youre right about the other things, but also the a6000 shoots 11fps, with focussing and probably will still easily compete in ISO, all that for way less, New. Nobody cares about its segment or how long its been on the market
The reason people would want this camera is probably to use as a vlogging or RUclips camera. Canon finally put 4K in a small body but their killer feature above all other brands, Dual Pixel AF, DOESN'T WORK IN 4K. Basically killing it out of the gate.
I was getting all excited, thinking this was a great little lightweight mirrorless for gimbals to match the colour science of the 5D MkIV... then 1.5x crop on an already cropped sensor, no dual pixel AF in 4K... fail.
Selling point of Canon is the dual pixel af, you try to bring your product up to the same standard as the market but don't include your only selling point... Fail
I am excited about this camera - it shows that canon at least has a real future. I was kind of worried. Now they "just" need to make dual pixel work with 4k, get rid of the crop, maybe make that same camera FF with dual sd cards, real sensor "physical" stabilization and after that there is pretty much nothing to add.... Dynamic range on top maybe. But after all those steps .. its better than the sonys. Honestly I know it sounds like I am shitting on canon but I really am excited - the "in house" canon features are often worth the slightly less advanced tech. And the new features (Eye-Af, Silent) are great additions.
The only major issue with what you say above is the speed of development from other manufacturers is currently a lot higher. With Sony, Panny and now even Nikon pushing hard past Canon on many fronts Video and functionality wise, they can't sit back and "wait" to much before ppl jump ship. I'm actually in the process of doing just that, and the launch of the M50 actually just confirms my thoughts about Canon atm... ROI is king, and with cheap DSLRs still being their forte, they will continue to push that agenda as long as they can, as keeping up with Sony for example atm is too expensive..
I agree with that. And I would wish for a more pushing canon. But they still have some developments wich other Systems don't have (DPAF for example or the thouch-drag-focus-stuff). So it isn't all too bad in canon land. Most other Cameras are using Sony Sensors, if Canon switches we have almost no competition left in this area. So I don't think canon is "out of the game" or anything.
Until Canon actually competes with the Panasonic G7, they're dead to me. I'm tired of $800 Rebels not having a damn intervalometer, literally the easiest function to add to a camera.
I'm all for budget dslrs...but how much money are they really saving by taking out a spring for the flash, and using a plastic mount instead of a metal one...and removing a power button...
Yeah I was debating on adding one to my lineup, but until the gh4 can’t serve my needs i can’t see needing to spend the monies. A 12-35 is more important to me currently ;)
Amazing review, thank you! At 8:57 i see the white version of m50 with a nice brown leather case, i can´t find it on the canon shop, do you know the model or any info of this beauty? Thanks!!
Just looking at this new M50 makes me want to get it over an a6000 instead. But I wanna know which would be better for photography (mainly portraits) and cinematic videos? I chose the a6000 over the a6300 due to costs.
After many years with Canon I switched to SONY a few months ago. Canon is no longer driving the industry and that's the sad truth! Making a big deal about Canon coming out with a camera that is not even as good as my Samsung S8 is kind of a joke to be honest....
@Cak -- don't spam my videos with your abusive comments, you moron. You are apparently personally offended that someone dare criticize Canon. Get a life. Considering how everyone is laughing at Canon, you better get a good supply of antidepressants.
hi i tried the canon m50 today in a shop found it sensitive is that normal are not ?? are that what setting it was on ?? then the settings are very similir to the cano 700d too thanks
Wake up we have more questions!
zzzzzzz
we need boka
Kai W is there enough boke? Won't an APS-C reduce the amount of boke? Can't live without boke!
What's the price?
I just read about Canon M50 and immediately thought “let’s see what Kai says about it” and yep, here is the video :)
iPhonedo lol
Get a life fanboy
Uncaged 😂😂😂
Read the comment with his actual voice!! Ahahah
i read his comment with his voice and accent 😂
It's got 4K! Great to see you Kai, and nice video too!
welcome to 2012 canon!
TOKYObrah lollington....
Name a sony cam from 2012 that had 4k
TOKYObrah More like 2014, but still...
Canon 1DC - 2012
So much worse than 2012 then? Welcome to 1999 Canon.
The biggest failure - no DPAF in 4k mode. Dang canon really missed the key point there.
knowing Canon they probably removed that option for this entry level camera and offer it for a new top model mirrorless... (stupid if the competition offers it on cheaper cameras, but that is Canon logic for you)
Marc knows what's up, that's the Canon way, if they were to give us 4K with dual pixel AF and no 1.6x crop, why would you need to buy the next model? Thanks for the insight, I didn't quite realize what the restrictions entailed.
Wow Gordon's song was almost as good as his last one, impressive!
This is definitely NOT a gh5 killer by any means. How many stops on the dynamic range??
Everytime im thinking of buying a new camera... i always look for this guy...
Nice one Canon. You almost got me to sell my Panny G85... Almost!
PhotoMeIke yup no dual pixel AF in 4k, I almost pulled the trigger
Ha me too, until I found out the dual pixel AF is not available in 4K mode-doh!
Exact same thing I almost did. Had my G85 listed on eBay and cancelled it just as someone was buying it. Seriously dodged a bullet!
I'm about to start in filmmaking and get started with weddings with a g85 and a gx85, so you think canon is not better yet ,right?
Oh hey, a fellow G-series owner! Go to your picture profile and turn noise reduction to -5. Panasonic noise is like film grain and you won't believe what a difference it makes in apparent quality. Now you'll NEVER sell the G85, bwa ha ha!
OMG the ending is the best. Good job Kai!
and there it is, no dual pixel AF in 4K lol.
Nismor2 Too bad! Maybe that will come on a higher-tier camera. If they can do that on the successor to the M5, they will sell a zillion of them.
Do you think that canon will come out with additional mirrorless cameras? This is the entry level, will they come out with a mid level and a pro mirrorless next? Maybe we will see it at NAB?
I wonder why they supplied you with an f1.4 L lens rather than the kit lens every user would actually have? Maybe the low light focusing is shite?
That's exactly why I bet
You already know
Got one of these. Low light focusing at 3.5f with the kit 18-150mm lens is fine. No complaints. It is only in almost total darkness that focusing fails.
He said that Dual Pixel Auto Focus does not come with 4k mode with this camera
No dual-pixel AF in 4K mode??? WTF! That's the ONE thing I wanted the most of this camera!
and its got crop on an apsc sensor... WTF CANON? Its just a marketing game, not a real competing product
Nikon D500 has a 2X crop in 4k too. why nobody was crying there? :P
They are saving it for the 90D later this year.
canon m50 ~2.5x crop in 4k
We "normal" users use cameras for taking photos, or vlogging. For vlogging, 1080p is indeed the best. People who cry about 4k video can buy pro-models or camcoders. This is a mid-range semi-pro cam.
I love this guy's style, best camera/photography channel I have seen so far
Why does canon hate slowmo 120fps pleeeeeeeeeeease
Sam Stunts The M50 does 120fps slo-mo at 720p
Wow! My Lumix LX7 from 2012 does that too!
Very few people care about 720p anymore..
they still want people to buy their c300!!!
Ah at last, a man with a brain in this bunch of posts ...

That ending was brilliant 😂 another great video thanks for sharing 👍
This definitely going to be the most popular vloging camera when it comes out
have you ask it to change?
*"talk to the camera" please change*
I bought the Mark II a few years ago to throw in my bag so I always have a camera on me. I love the M50.
- 6:05 -
Guy: "Have you asked it to change?"
Kai: *leans into flash* "Please change"
HAAHHAHAHAHhahahah
that end of the video montage is the best
why not using full sensor 4k. is it too hard too apply?
In the sensor readout you can either read every line of pixels and get te crop that math gives you (this is what the M50 does), or read the full sensor and downsample that to 4K on the go (this is what expensive cameras with heat issues do) or have a native ~10 megapixel sensor and do a full readout without crop. The 5D Mk IV doesn't use the full frame in 4k either. Canon clearly doesn't want people using DSLRs for video applications...
They either don't have the processing power onboard to do live downscaling or they do but it's going to cause heat issues. The imaging processor is an ASIC chip that could have a design bias torwards still processing because that's still the main market for the 5D series.
overheating that's why
Guys, stop kidding yourselves. The reason is not “overheating” it’s 100% just Canon fucks over anything but the Cinema EOS line. Don’t be stupid.
It's about time Canon got on board! I've had a Canon DSLR since the Rebel and never had another brand but them. I recently jumped ship for a GH5 which is an amazing camera. Look forward to a proper Canon again! Software, Software, Software. Canon please work on your Software!
Lol that little rap at the end, he got skills
So does it in fact shoot 4K 30p? The DPReview first look video shows it only being capable of 4K 24p.
So, what Canon have done here is try to create a best-of-breed Vlogging camera (1080p, mic input and dual pixel) but once again protect their cine-line cameras by omitting Dual Pixel with 4K. Also I suspect it may not have optimum codecs for videographers.

Glad you are posting more man... great vid as always.
*is canon launching 90D????*
oh god pls yes
or give me the 7d mk iii i'll be happy with that too
And what are they going to do after 90D? They're out of 2 digit round numbers. Will there someday be a 90D Mk IV? 91D...99.99993D?
Can only imagine with the launch of this a 90D with 4K with full time dual pixel AF is on the way.
Maybe 8D would be next after 90D.
Is there a speedbooster for this so that canon ff lenses remain ff field of view (same principle as putting them on a sony crop body) ??

Canon m5 review
Gordon Bennett.....
So glad I stumbled upon your channel. I love your energy and personality. You have a great sense of humour!
Hooray, Canon! A 4k mirrorless camera. They've finally been dragged, kicking and screaming, into 2014.
Where can I find that brown leather case at the minute mark 2:46? please help

I really think you sold me when you said, "it's a canon, that shoots 4k!" the 27th time.
no seriously im actually sold LOL
No Dual Pixel AF in 4K
AND 2x+ Crop factor
welp... so much for 4K
it's pretty much as good as nothing. Feel sorry for Canon
What's better alternative to this for 4k vlogging at similar price range?
A little too late... invested in the Fuji system after Canon’s inaction last year. (Waited anxiously for 2 years for the 6D MII and felt Canon was nickel and diming us on features that should have been built into a $2k+ camera so I sold my Canon glass and haven't looked back)
Me too. Fuji has changed my life
Jeremy me three!
I had a Fuji but went back to Nikon.
MrScheissendreck Can you tell us why?
I was waiting patiently for the 5d4 to replace my 5dii's & in the meantime bought a fuji just for fun. The new Canon was way overpriced as well as the new versions of the L lenses & fuji lenses blew my mind. I ended up selling all the Canon & bought more fuji bodies & promised myself I'd only buy fuji primes but now I have 5 primes & two zooms.
You have the best reviews ever!!! Hope you come visit denver soon!!!
Always love to watch your video
Yeah, but can it do 4K?
Zach Shult yes it can, and it’s mirrorless
Its a APC-C sensor, but it shoots cropped for 4K.
with crop ~2,5
Does anyone know which lens he's using at 1:51? Thank you 😊
Was excited for about three minutes. 4K in a cropped APS-C sensor. What?! Why did they bother with 4K if only to do such a half-arsed job.
Glad To Know Canon Finally Got Its Game Up❤️
this is an a6000 equivalent 3 years later... thanks Canon. Still liked cause of Kai tho
Bullshit. the A6000 didnt shoot 4k. had no IBIS nor digital IS, had no flipscreen, the focusing was trash.. also the M50 is in a lower entry level segment than the A6000 was when it was released.
MikedieONE the focussing wasnt and isnt trash. Youre right about the other things, but also the a6000 shoots 11fps, with focussing and probably will still easily compete in ISO, all that for way less, New. Nobody cares about its segment or how long its been on the market
Subscribed. We met when you visited sunny Norwich with my boy PJB ✌🏻
Why does the sensor looks like a m4/3
It's apsc sensor btw
because it is ‘censored’
I almost think you like it. Always good to hear your take.
get well my dude
Thanks!
That is smoooooth. Good review Kai!
The reason people would want this camera is probably to use as a vlogging or RUclips camera. Canon finally put 4K in a small body but their killer feature above all other brands, Dual Pixel AF, DOESN'T WORK IN 4K. Basically killing it out of the gate.
Omg is this your real voice and accent? I love both of them together 😭😭😭😭
With 4K, the AF is contrast detection, not Dual Pixel. Ug...
Quentin Moore better in low light
SerenityPhotos aeh. No
Kai, you are hilarious... the heck with the photo gear, I watch your videos for the laughs.
Check out the old Digitalrev episodes. Hilarious. 1001 ways of dropping a DSLR.
Screw 4k!
I was getting all excited, thinking this was a great little lightweight mirrorless for gimbals to match the colour science of the 5D MkIV... then 1.5x crop on an already cropped sensor, no dual pixel AF in 4K... fail.
Finally 🤤🤤
“please change” lmao Kai is the love of my life
Selling point of Canon is the dual pixel af, you try to bring your product up to the same standard as the market but don't include your only selling point... Fail
the ending is brilliant! 4kkkkk
1.5 crop and no Dual Pixel AF in 4k.. Canon’s done it again! lol
Jeremy just wait for mkii
Rob, Actually I hope they come out with a Canon M5 mark II (not M50). The M5 is a sweet camera! All it needs is a few spec upgrades.
& a whole suite of lenses...
Loopsrainforest, but the 22mm f/2 and the super wide zoom are so good!
Is it because of my eyes or the light in room? I think the jpeg and video file are on the greeny yellow side? It's quite different from predecessors.
Canon is always innovating new ways to make 4K useless.
Hi, I plan on buying my first vlogging camera. Which one would you recommend, this Canon M50 or the Sony A5100? Thanks!
give me some 1080p- 120p and I'll sell my a6500 in a heartbeat!
3:48 “Why is Gordon (Lang) wearing his name tag so close to his jugular vein?” LOL!!! Best part of the video!
I'm tired of $800 Rebels not having a damn intervalometer, literally the easiest function to add to a camera.
yep, my dumb 2005 Canon PowerPro1 is not even a dslr but it has an intervalometer circa 2005.
How would you compare this M50 to the RP . I am at a cross road to get one of this? love your option on this.
He didn’t mention bokeh? What?
I'm all for budget dslrs...but how much money are they really saving by taking out a spring for the flash, and using a plastic mount instead of a metal one...and removing a power button...
Super sad about the no dual af in 4k, back to the gh4 I go
Full sensor readout and higher than 24 FPS? Definitely better quality in a Gh4
No dual AF, let's see the image quality. Btw GH5 is now 6k no crop ;-)
Yeah I was debating on adding one to my lineup, but until the gh4 can’t serve my needs i can’t see needing to spend the monies. A 12-35 is more important to me currently ;)
"Please change" - love it!
Imagine a 600mm Lens on it in 4k, lol, You get 1440mm
Amazing review, thank you! At 8:57 i see the white version of m50 with a nice brown leather case, i can´t find it on the canon shop, do you know the model or any info of this beauty? Thanks!!
how many fps on 4k?
DJ Vay 24fps
DJ Vay 24
30
23.975
OMG it's a Canon, and it shoots 4K!!!! FINALLY!!!
Plastic mount? RIP the L glass.
XuQi Feng - only if your stupid.
Just looking at this new M50 makes me want to get it over an a6000 instead. But I wanna know which would be better for photography (mainly portraits) and cinematic videos? I chose the a6000 over the a6300 due to costs.
Canon is like the drunk sports player that keeps wearing his highschool football jersey. And never evolved
Hi may I know what lens w red paint is he using at the start of the video?
4k and a milky image
Thank you for uploading at this hour, I don't have to go back to bed now
After many years with Canon I switched to SONY a few months ago. Canon is no longer driving the industry and that's the sad truth! Making a big deal about Canon coming out with a camera that is not even as good as my Samsung S8 is kind of a joke to be honest....
Great Video.
4K is old, where is 8K?
The wait is not over. Not yet my friends. Let's hope for the m70 come 4 years.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.... I knew it... Canon was going to sabotage it. No dual pixel AF in 4K.
others don't even have DPAF ;)
"others don't even have DPAF ;)" -- So this one does but doesn't use it. Great. Frame it and put it on the wall.
@Cak -- No, I will keep laughing at Canon because they lost their mind. You can get a fit for all I care.
Canon managed to dissapoint again :( 1080p footage looks awful, probably the same line-skipping readout? Boo.
whats the tripod called at 7:26?
Useless 4k
In 2 or 3 years it won’t be.
That LUMIX image looks so nice
