- Star Citizen released the F7C MK 2 recently and over the past few days I've been trying some setups but today, I've put together the ultimate ballistics small fighter for Star Citizen. I have to say, in my last video I mentioned I wasn't a fan of the way this ship flys in atmo but actually, after spending some time with it, I've come to really appreciate the characteristics of the ship and I actually really enjoy flying the F7C MK 2 now.

Is it just me or is the game extra SMOOTH in this video? That FPS is best I've seen for SC :D
Was just going to say that. I run a system that can do some serious heavy lifting and since the last patch the games performance has been middling at best. The desync is maddening. Like having two different fights at once. The one you see and then whats actually happening.
Seriously. I just deleted and reinstalled SC because after coming back to it from a decent break I was getting awful hang ups randomly, and almost every time I opened an inventory. Like 3-5 seconds of nothing happening, just frozen. Hopped on for a bit last night and it seemed a bit better, but still noticeably worse than the last time I played.
@@bdubyah89 sounds like ram issue or bad cpu or ssd, not a game problem since me and my friends play daily with no problems at all with really good fps
YT only supports 60hz so yeah, it's just you.

This new hornet look is ultimately what makes me want to pledge and keep the hornet. Old one was good and reliable but I just couldn’t with how blocky it was
God, same here. I love the hornet as a fighter, but God, I just could not get over the big hole in the middle of it, basically. I don't have OCD but that really triggered my OCD.
Yeah my load out was three AD4B's and a C-337 Panther Laser repeater on the nose. Brilliant ship.

i've always dug hornets as ships even since mk1 (even though i hate the look of the mk1) because they dont act like straight up UFO's, you cant yaw turn in them in atmo while keeping full vector authority and it feels like an actual aircraft because you're obligated to roll into turns like an actual aircraft. I do kind of hope most air frames end up flying like this does in atmo.
I love that this ship uses the mass it has in the center, great for yaw shots while still going almost straight

Salty More had Yogi from CIG and Avenger One on talking about so combat. Great discussion of you haven't seen it. Yogi was starting what Olli said about ships being intensionally different so it sold take some time to master each one. I totally agree. That said, I would like to see the Hornet mk2 fly a bit better in atmo...
I fly the f7c-M heart seeker and have done for several yrs mostly used for player bountys , mission and ground assault when fitted with 2 mass drivers on the to turret
I think the best way to show off 3.23 will be to focus on maybe 2 or 3 major things (i.e. Distributions centers) make it the main focus for the video but while traveling to the location show off some of the smaller things. (i.e. mini map, star map, MM, EVA, etc) If you want to make separate videos for each new thing you could do that as well.

This is a true murder Hornet, been running the same set up myself. Besides having to rearm after an ERT its a great load out. It definitely has some Atmo flight issues but I think it may have been tuned for the new Master modes already. It's also quite destructive against HH's right now, comparable to the Inferno. Also swap out the nose with a Broadsword, deadbolt, or Tarantula series Cannon and its ammo will last almost as long as the AD4B's
At 4:15, you comment about all ships will probably end up flying like this. Could not be more true, and sooner than you think. What you're experiencing is a preview of Master Modes, as well as the rework of flight characteristics for every ship in the game. The control response curve is strongly elliptical, favoring pitch over yaw, and forcing you to roll and pitch, just as you're describing. This is how everyone will be flying, and probably within the next three months.
Favorite thing coming out, Personal Hangers, 'nuff said.
i know they are going to rebalance ammo prices,
but i'm now more interested in when we can fill out ships with those cave bugs!
Im really just excited to see exactly how much the verse changes. It seems like it will in fact give a good change to the game. Definitely gonna be broken atleast the first week, but when theyre able to iron out most of the bugs, itll hgopefully be a great update to the game
CIG adding creatures into the Verse is glorious! The more creatures and varieties the better in my opinion. Them doing so reminds me of the old Constellation commercial. Though if they bring in those primative humanoid creatures, I suspect that a certain kind of player might try to make them extinct. Thankfully, NPCs can periodically respawn.

if you switch to manual gimbal and to target padlock your turrets will gimble all around and fire in the whole turret arc at the enemy you have targetted. at least on the previous hornet they did.
That top gun needs to sit lower on its turret, that thing looks like it'll be torn right off the hull when you hit atmosphere going supersonic

I think the distribution center is what I am most exited for, they seem so cool!
Olli its fun now but once you get the Mil upgrade youll have 2 S3 guns on the nose not just 1. the rear is 2 S3 also vs the 2S2 turret we currently have but ima stick with the s4 AD. 4 s3 and 2 s3 ballistics are gonna be so much fun.. All the BRRRRRRRRT

This ship was made for ballistics in my opinion. Also get the super hornet nose turret. I think this is the only build you should do. It sucks in PvP but PvE is awesome.
The turret looks dumb, so it violates Rule #1.

And the unpredictable atmo flight behavior isn't the only problem. The thing is super slow in atmo even in a straight line.
I can't wait to earn it in game once it is released. Hopefully the upcoming balance changes will make a clear path of progression.
CIG has not been very forward with progression in Star Citizen. Hard to choose what ships to have when they are all subject to change.
One thing you can be sure of, the standard mouse and keyboard user will not find it hard to play the game and upgrade over the months and years of gameplay.
My only concern is the amount of streaming data from everyone around you given some peoples bandwidth limitations.
All ships are OP for the first couple months.

I know you don´t want to hear it, Olli, but playing with Joystick is much more immersive. You should consider it. It´s now very powerful, but I think everything will change soon... so who knows...

I have a very similar loadout for my Mk2. I can assure you, you can both kill the Hammerhead and the 890 with ease.

i personally dont like it cause of the low quantum fuel, people saying "its not supposed to have a lot since its a carrier based ship" are just clowns, even though its true but that basically means you cant use it as a solo player. this is also why i love the f8c, great firepower, great quantum fuel
How do you make the little circle that shows where you need to aim to hit somebody instead show where your bullets are going to hit?
People really need to get used to the old 'bank and yank' for atmo, youll have a much better time flying

I really love the hornet series and the mk 2 is great but I just can’t bring myself to pay that much for a simple fighter with no other real purpose. Maybe one day if I have more cash to mess around with
But you can still buy ships in-game without spending IRL cash, right? Then it's a question of time spent earning in-game cash, so it's just trading time for money or vice versa.
Yea you can buy it with in game currency, though most ships can be a bit grindy if you're trying to buy em out right and not rent them. Personally, I haven't sunk in enough time yet grinding since wipes can still happen in the future.@@dakaodo
@@dakaodoAbsolutely this. The new ships are not available right away to buy in game, but they usually are after a patch or two.
@@dakaodo yeah that’s the thing, I’ll probably just buy it in game but we don’t really have solid info on when it’ll be available in game and I do enjoy owning at least one ship for each type of activity I do with real money and currently I’m missing a fighter since upgrading my gladius to a Zeus MR.

Its been well tested, and is found to be very fair for its class and weight for a combat fighter.
Some day, CIG needs to revise the flight model to make banking in atmo actually initiate a turn, like a proper aircraft. Because rolling does nothing in atmo at this time, you just keep going in a straight line. This works when you manually pull through your turns, and it works well, but just rolling should start a turn in atmo, which you can then pull through.
they are, you clearly have not watched citizen con, they showcased a fully realistic atmo flight model, probably comming in 4.0 this summer since they said it wont be in 3.23

How is it that his pip marker is on the ship and not a dot ahead of the targeted ship? Is it a master mode thing or another setting?
The default setting for the targeting pip is LEAD which tells you where to aim to hit the center of the target. LAG tells you where your shots will land.
LAG aiming lets you be more precise, especially if you want to aim at specific areas of a ship instead of center mass
Lead/lag pip in game settings.
Should take a look in there. There's a lot of use settings.

if youre poor thats completely fine, all of us started out somewhere with SC( the original tiny mustang thats no longer in game myself) but most of us been here 7+ years b4 in you could ever buy in game ships. 10 buck here and there over 7-8 years and youll have plenty of store credit to get ships when they come out. i melt mine all the time
