Hey guys, we will be doing a second part, but this time will get the Mazda CX90 PHEV which is supposed to be faster than the CX90 Turbo S based on some numbers I have seen. Stay tuned.
Thats not the 340 HP cx90. That's the base model cx90. All turbo S models have the silver inline 6 badge and the 280 HP badges are all back like this one in the video. You ain't fooling no body!!!
The Mazda CX-90 you have is not the Turbo S with 340 hp. You have the 280 hp one. You can tell by the exterior. If you are going to use the top engine options for the Toyota GH and Ford Explorer, should have used the higher output Mazda or the PHEV which are quicker. The 340 hp 3.3 tuned engine does a 1/4 mile in 14.7 seconds according to many other car enthusiast. Still would have lost to the Toyota GH by 0.3 seconds, but would have been closer. The PHEV would have been even closer with a 14.5 seconds 1/4 mile run and 5.9 seconds to 60 and losing to the Toyota GH by 0.1 seconds in the 1/4 mile.
Based on the badges and wheels the Mazda looks like a turbo gt which only has 280 bhp got to get the GT-P or the signature trim in Canada or any three versions of the turbo s in the states to get the full 340 hp
This comment needs more likes. Mazda in the video is the low output version. The high output version of Cx90 has body color fender flares, not black cladding that this one has.
Bro didn’t even know what Mazda he’s driving and the specs. The base CX-90, which you had, only has 280HP, NOT 340HP like you said. Least have your numbers and details right when doing comparisons.
@@SamCarLegionso you didn't have your numbers correct, because you didn't test the right car. I took one for a drive yesterday. For sure it has power but I'm not sure that I like the ride. Will have to have a closer look at the Platinum with the same engine as a possible compromise. And then, of course, my wife may ask that silly question - on a long trip, where speed limits exist, how much longer would it really take to get there in a comfortable Toyota?

That’s the 280hp CX-90 not the 340hp version lol. Please correct that. It’s not a fair race. You got the slowest Mazda CX-90 vs the fastest Toyota GH which costs significantly more too. Different tuning. The Turbo S has a tune that increases boost pressure and other variables to actually give it that higher number. The GT will only ever produce 280hp since that base tune is limited to that with or without premium. Turbo S on the other hand will have 340 only on premium and 320 I believe on regular.

Ford is strong but double in
gas
Hi Sam, can you consider this pleae . X3M40i vs SQ5 ?
And GLC43 AMG
Interesting, will Aviator be similar to ST or not.
They have both one engine (3.0 400hp)
lol you really got a ST racing those 🐢
How about the MDX vs explorer ST?
We did already
The great news is, the Toyota and the Mazda will still be on the road, won't have squeaks and rattles, and will still be free of rust after they turn two years old.
I have two ST's. That was a nice dream you had...and then you woke up...
If you actually raced the correct Mazda (Top trim 6 or PHEV) this would have been close. And I know thisbis a drag race but for practicality i am willing to bet neither of the other two handle like the Mazda
It wouldn’t have been close with the top trim - the phev maybe. I asked them for PHEV, I was booked for that, but then I got this.
Difference between the Grand Highlander and Explorer is that the Grand Highlander can pull off those speeds while getting over 30mpg
Ford all the way🎉
wrong spec you got on the cx90 i got the turbo s inline 6 and doesn't look like that, what ypu got us the 2.5 with hybrid assist with 310 hp
Sam, you are stating 1-2 car lengths but I am seeing 3-4 car lengths differences, using the size of vehicle, head-to-tail between the two cars.
Next I will stop the race and take out a tape…🙄
Mpg ford ?
Too much 🤣🤣🤣
Why you not us9mg the higher output motor on the cx90 you got the top out the other 2 but dropped ball and got the lower tuned cx90
Ford did a great job with the explorer.
I had a 2021 explorer ST
It was GREAT 👍
The Grand Highlander Hybrid Max is turbo charged 4cly with the hybrid system giving you 340hp.
362hp
Good morning! Thanks for an awesome breakfast video
Good morning!
The Grand Highlander is a great performer for a 3 row SUV, and did anyone else notice or care how much quieter it was than the other two?
You not going to get that explorer on the 60ft. I love my ST
Even if you put the 340hp turbo s mazda probably you don't get the results you're expecting, the 6inline phev is probably the best option but, what about if you race it againts the audi q7 or audi q8?
The quickest version of the CX-90 is the PHEV. That would have been a very close race with the Highlander.
we have booked the CX 90 PHEV against the Toyota grand Highlander, max hybrid for a drag race
@@SamCarLegion I bet it will still loose by a car length or two instead of a bus length or two. I guess you will make the mazda fan boys happy.
@@brianb4501 The CX-90 PHEV should hit 60mph (100kph) in just under 6 seconds. It should be very, very close to the Grand Highlander.
That's not even the cx90 turbo S Model. This guy is a clown
I’d be curious to see how the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe would do against that Explorer ST.
Whatever tires the Explorer has on it are clearly very good
