Gotta do some more clarifications again: - Sims 4 do have split screens in the console games, but the games will always use 4-player splitscreen regardless of the player's number. - I'm gonna admit I got the "messy eating" wrong because you can eat messily as a slob sim in Sims 3 (not Sims 4 glutton eating, it's different than sloppy/slob) - EDIT: Also admitting about the barista bar tending to be wrong because Sims 4 sims can tend on barista bar if there's no one tending, though they won't be paid hourly like in the video - Yes, some of the features here are also in The Sims 1, but this video is titled "Sims 2 Details not in *Sims 3 and 4* ", remember? - Some of you said toddlers can throw up as well when you play with them in Sims 3, but I can't seem to reproduce them in the game after doing it several times. Can you tell how do you do it?
Toddlers can throw up in The Sims 3? Never seen it either. Though the last one does remind me that sims in The Sims 4 can tend barista bars (from Get Together expansion pack) if there's no barista tending it. It's an easily forgettable feature (since not often you get a chance to tend a barista bar unless you put it in other places).
Omg I completely forgot about the romantic “turn ons” and “turn offs” option 😭 this game was too good to be true and we took it for granted. Sims 4 is so boring in comparison!
@@frogsnack7072 I like that though, because in real life if you find out the person you like is attracted to glasses, certain people would not be above wearing fake glasses to impress them.
@@Carmn07 on the one hand I even understand, it is the latest game in the franchise. but the game have what? 5 years? it's already old and doesn't even have the beginning that 1, 2 and 3 have.
xyz_ The reason why I said sims 2-3 was better than sims 4 was because sims 4 does have very good graphics but the gameplay tends to get boring. And the sims 4 has a loading screen for almost everything. I wish the sims 4 was open world like the sims 3, and had more details. Also I was very pissed with the college expansion pack for the sims 4, the expansion pack trailer makes it look like you can do a lot. But in reality there’s only like 3 buildings you can actually go to (depending what college you pick) In sims 3 you had a backpack every time you went to classes, and on top of that you can actually see your sims in classes, and you can make them do stuff like take notes, nap..etc. You’re also in an actual dorm room that has two floors, and you can chose a frat house or sorority house. ALSO SIMS 3 HAD FLIPPING CARSSS!! There’s so much stuff that the sims 3 had that sims 4 doesn’t. Like this doesn’t even scratch the surface of how much stuff sims 3 has, like bruh. Edit: (Sorry about my little rant 😅)
One thing I’ve noticed when you go off to college, if your Sim’s parents are not alive, they’ll look back in the cutscene where they would be wishing they were still alive.
those college cutscenes really are something. one of my sims went and instead of her single mum accompanying her, it was her estranged dad-even though they had absolutely no relationship. talk about bittersweet, man...
MajorDaveSanders or they will let grandparents be there if they are alive. I even think if I remember correctly not sure anymore it’s ages 🤔 but, I think even big brother or sister will be there to wave off if no parents.
I miss the cut scenes from Sims 2 when important things would happen in a sim's life. It made it feel like your choices were actually important to the sims
Exactly. The way I introduced the Animal Crossing New Horizons direct to my friend was by saying "You know how Sims 4 was supposed to completely be out of this world for the Sims franchise? Well, Nintendo actually did that with the new Animal Crossing."
These little details are the reasons why Sims 2 felt more like a "Sims" game than Sims 4. I like the new features and all don't get me wrong, however Sims 4 seems like it was a spinoff. They added emotion system yet it felt hollow. Perhaps it was just the lack of "realism" that makes it off.
I also notice that in The Sims 2, when you try on clothes in the shop, the security camera would move and look through a hole to see the sim changing. Always bothered me when I was a kid😂
I'm sure the sims team still makes the game with love the problem is EA not giving them time and recources to work on stuff that makes the game itself better
@@gustavgurke9665 at this point, i wouldn't mind paying that amount to make the sims 4 more interesting . I've already dropped so much money on that game, 20 more bucks isn't going to make much difference
Little details are everything and they had no reason to get rid of them. Especially in 3. But TS4 is just a Trainwreck.... So I ignore it. Seriously, if they just mixed TS2 and TS3. You'd have a pretty solid perfect game. Or pretty close I'd say.
@@ZiggyWhiskerz About the CAS I prefer the one of The Sims 4, it's more easy to change the little details and it isn't so slow like Sims 3 (when you haver a lot of expansions It take some time to load). But I miss the color pallet
I think something of this sort is present in the medieval part, the bard can compose a song using certain themes they collected while looking for inspiration in various places
@@shadowninja6689 not much, but it was kind of neat how the knight would inspire you to get the war theme, the wizard would give you the magic theme, the physician the sickness and health theme, etc
What I want for The Sims 5: The Sims 1's music styles The Sims 2's gameplay, details and story telling The Sims 3's sims traits, open world neighbourhoods and expansion packs (China from World Adventures pack are very well done/Into the Future pack has many cool items) The Sims 4's visuals, create a sim, house building mechanics and multi tasking AI(the only real improvement over the predecessors)
The Sims 2 : Focus with detail gameplay The Sims 3 : Focus with pack and world The Sims 4 : Focus with money, money and money The Sims 5 : Pay $200/month for what will happen in the sims 5
That’s because sims are made to make money and they aren’t a passion project anymore. But I feel the attention to detail lacks in other games now too. The whole industry has changed..
To be fair, the sims 4 has a massive graphics and UI boost that would crash most people's PC if open world was available. Although, I still wish that the sims 4 had the same personality as sims 2 because the game just feels so hollow :/ Not to mention all the dumb dlc for dlc, that's just a shady ass move
The issue is that The Sims 4 was rushed and changed midway through. The Sims 4 was originally going to be an online game similar to The Sims Online, but was changed to a singleplayer game midway through development. So what we got was a lackluster Sims game at release. Also, that’s the reason why everything is instanced and they did away with the open world (easier for a potentially online game). My hope is that EA moves on from the Sims 4 and just starts development on The Sims 5 and make it a singleplayer experience from the ground up. Go back to just using expansion packs and stuff packs and fill them with content worth buying (this likely won’t happen) and build off everything that made The Sims 2 and 3 good. Also, bring back the weird Sims 2 style Maxis humor (without Will Wright, that’s unlikely to happen). Sims 4 just feels so un-Sims like with all the real world and meme references.
The way you admitted immediately when others find out this and this actually exists in other games and you spend time to clarify everything in the beginning of this video. I'm so glad I found your channel, the sims logic series are one of the best sims related videos on yt and overall your videos are great, everyone can tell there are a lot of work in every single one!! Thank you!!
I figured out: When parents have a good relationship with their children, they kiss them on the forehead, while they sleep. This action is automatic, when the parents are in the same room with the sleeping child. Thank you for the amazing videos. I only play Sims 2 since it came out. And I still don't know everything in the game. 3 and 4 bored me after a while.
That's happened with me even when they weren't in the same room. It's when they tuck the child in. It can be done manually but if the parent has nothing doing it happens automatically
Kassidy F I honestly hate sims 4 graphics. Sims 2 is already the perfect game for me. The Sims 4 looks WAY too unrealistic and cartoony, everyone looks like goofy from Mickey Mouse.
The Sims 4 is giving us so little stuff for so much money, kinda regretting wasting money on the game 😣 This makes me miss TS2 a lot, even if the graphics are kinda bad
I'm so amazed at the sheer amount of animation detail in sims 2! Chess matches are actual chess matches, pizza slices are actually taken out piece by piece, food in the microwave actually spins, sims actually get in and out of vehicles, delivery vehicles actually come to deliver things! But the thing that amazes me the most is the clothing being actual real items in the game's world that they have to buy and store. It just adds SO MUCH by having clothes not just come out of the ether!
yes, the sims 2 have alot of gameplay.. when i first played the sims 3 and i saw the sims buying food on the fridge i tough OMG what a fucking Downgrade to the sims 1, what developer would do that? i always wished they lost they job its offensive design choice specially because sims 3 also have a market already...... why remove the clothing shopping? why ... i don't understand :( make me so sad.....
Yeah, although I always make sure to go buy the clothing before the Sims age up because otherwise they get a randomly generated outfit and like 9 times out of 10 it's the weirdest, most ridiculous-looking thing
I had a sim date two other sims at the same time. When I had a dream date, he came over with the roses, saw me greet my other lover (by kissing), and walked off angry and with the flowers
My sim was having an affair and after going on a date with his mistress, she brought flowers to the house. The wife read the note on the flowers and got mad and jealous.
After a dream date my date came over with the roses AND a fucking hot tub. This never happened before or after that and I've been playing Sims 2 for years now.
5:27 Sims 2 delivery man: I actually get the item out of the trunk of my car Sims 3 delivery man: get it out?! We can only get out f the car already with the item Sims 4 delivery man: You guys are getting CARS???
@@natalieeforsyth I was just going to mention this. My poor character ended up with heatstroke, and the only other person in the house was her cat, so she had to ride it out... It was insane. I love it.
Also, in sims 2, every sim records the eye and hair color that they inherit from both mom and dad. They use only one for themselves, but the other is stored as 'recessive'. When that sim eventually procreates with another sim, either the dominant or the recessive gene will be used for any resulting baby. Thus, a sim might get hair and eye color from a grandparent, even though neither mommy, nor daddy shows that color. For example: John has black hair, but a recessive red gene. Jane has blond hair, and also a recessive red gene. When their baby Tina is born, the game takes one hair color from mom, and one from dad. Dad's black hair has a bigger chance to show up, because it *is* dominant, but little Tina might still end up blonde or ginger. But whatever color she gets for herself, Tina will also carry the color that she got from the other parent. whereas in sims 3 and 4 there are no such thing as dominant and recessive genes. Plus, they can't inherits their ancestors features unlike sims 2.
Sims 3, they can inherit ancestor features - even if it doesn't make sense! In Sims 3, I had a Sim with rainbow-coloured hair. She adopted a daughter who had black hair. The daughter grew up and had a rainbow-haired child.
@@paranoidhumanoid1022 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ Sims 3 doesn't seem to differentiate between adopted kids and biological kids, sooo yeah. Maybe it got patched eventually, I think that incident happened when I was using a quite early game version - no expansions, few/no patches. A quick Google does turn up a few simmers with the same issue, though.
@@FahmiHabibie Oh and.... Lovers have unprecended listening ability. If you cheat on them inside home while they're walking across, they can hear it miles away.
As a person who never played this game, I’m absolutely amazed about how it reflects the 2000’s vibes, with the clothes, the computers, everything. I just love that a lot.
carolina 320 There’s a lot of storyline behind the sims games that I don’t really care about but basically the timeline is The Sims 3 (oldest) then Sims 1 then Sims 2. Sims 4 takes place in an alternate universe which is just stupid but whatever.
7:41 When you're caught when trying to sneak out of restaurant without paying, next time you'll dine in there, there's a chance that waiter might drop your food on you. Sometimes even several times!
Chris East Yeah, I think there’s risk of that happening every time you have a meal at restaurant, I just believe it’s the biggest when you didn’t pay for your meal last time :D
When I heard Sims 4 Spa Day had yoga I bought it immediately and had my sim go to a yoga class, eagerly waiting for them to mess up in some comedic fashion. Nevermind, they did it perfectly from the start. The Sims 2 would never.
Well, not really. In sims 4, When my sim tried doing it with the low wellness, they'll do yoga poses with some difficulty and fall. But with high wellness, they'll do it with ease.
@@dracko158 this, the sims 4 put all emphasis on emotions and well-being while forgetting that not everyone is perfect part. as long as your sim id happy and focused and basically well managed, they will do things perfectly first try while learning, it makes learning those skills less worth it in terms of seeing your sims progress in life.
I adored going to the stores in Sims 2, it made going shopping for clothes actually useful because if you got tired of your current, you'd have to go out and actually get something new. It gave more of a reason to make clothing stores.
dressers also use to have a purpose whereas now I feel like they don't and just take up space since I can just click on my sim a change clothes, but that is useful
Dude how is it that when they made the sims 2 they were more in depth with there gameplay, like they actually thought about the meaning of life. With sims 4 it just seems that they made a game, then after it was done made us pay more money for stuff that we already got in previous games that were included in the base game. 😡
Because it came off the back of Sims 1 and it was still being made by Maxis. They put in a lot more care and attention to detail before they released it and they took the same care with their expansions. That all changed when EA took over; all the care went out the window, they just threw their packs together, got them out onto the shelves and couldn't care less if they didn't work. Their final S2 pack - Apartment Life - was bugged to the hilt. They didn't fix it, there were no patches released, they didn't care about it; Sims 3 was about to get released and all they cared about was how much money they were going to make from that. It was modders that fixed Apartment Life, EA had nothing to do with it - they released it broken and washed their hands of it. They did the same with Island Paradise for Sims 3; Sims 4 was on the horizon and they weren't going to spend anything fixing their broken product. They'll do the same with the final S4 packs. Actually, from what I hear, they've been doing it already.
@@FerDeLance06 that’s wrong will wright was still working on sims 3 base game then left in April of 2009 and sims 3 isn’t a cash grab it has many details like this game
@@idk_who2320 Perhaps if you try reading my comment instead of giving it a brief scan, you'll notice that I never at any point said that Sims 3 is a cash grab. In fact, Sims 3 is a worthy successor in the franchise - although I didn't like it much at first, it grew on me over time. If any of them could be called a cash grab, it's that bloody Sims 4.
The transition from sims 1 to sims 2 is truly phenomenal. Not only did the graphics change from figures on flat plane to a completely 3D/plolygonal universe, but the animation and small details are really impressive. EA really outdid themselves with sims 2
I loved when in TS2 sims could actually put on signs when their retail store was going to be open or closed. TS2 is such a detailed and awesome game, I don't think I'd ever be bored of it :)
KIRSTYnotKRISTY I just re bought the sims 2! I don’t have a disk drive on my new computer and my stand alone drive disappeared so I had to find a digital copy and I finally did! I am so excited to start playing it again! It’s always been my favorite!
I even had to rebuy a few discs after my sister let her stepdaughter use them and her mother threw them away! I finally have all expansion packs again ... still working on stuff packs. They where all like... it's just an old game!😱 They have no idea how hard it's getting to replace these treasures!
Lynare Antoinette I managed to download the Ultimate Collection for free from EA years ago but still have all the original discs. I recently got my nieces into playing it and they love it. I got my discs from Amazon and eBay, they are my treasure!
In the Sims 2, there is also a changeroom that has a security camera above, and when a sim goes in to change, the camera points through a hole on the top to watch them change
he should show when 2 sims woohoo in the change room or even a hot tub in a public place! it's hilarious! other customers stand outside room and cheer them when they exit! BUT don't forget Mrs.Crumplebottom! Oh my SHE is a real hoot! And the cow plant too that's another funny thing.
I had two sims in college, they ate together and threw food to each other. And what happend? They fell in love for eachother. Because of throwing food. Wtf 😂
my sim initially didnt find his friend attractive but when they went ice skating i made them spin together and then they both developed crushes at each other 🥺
Only a few of these aren’t from the base game, honestly the sims 2 base game was complete without the need for expansions, unlike sims 3&4 Also the beta version of sims 2 had rain and cars in the base game!! They had to remove it because the hardware at the time wasn’t capable
There are still remnants of the weather system in base Sims 2's code, as well as power and power outage mechanics. I think I also saw remnants of a weight system, where parts of a house could collapse if not properly supported, but I'm not sure.
Actually sims 3’s base game is quite whole unless you just want a pack to have it, sunset valley is a beautiful town, the townies are great and have good stories, They careers are great and get more interactive, the lots are also amazing and all of the little things you can do. But the thing is sims 2 does get bland without any packs if you play it all day every day, because you want apartments and plantsims and college. But the packs are all terribly over priced I like the game but in my own opinion take away all of sims 3 bugs and compare the games with all packs and without sims 3 is better 🤷♀️
K-pop Junk THANK you people always bring that up talking about that game but at the end of the day to get a good game you have to put down ridiculous amounts of money
Can I just say? Thank you for giving the real reason behind the rain/cars being removed instead of spreading the tired (and disproven) "server fire" myth! EDIT: Wait a minute, I just realized who I was replying to! I love your neighborhoods, they're so fun! Thanks for sharing such awesome stuff with the community!
I don't think you mentioned this one: when your sim practices a hobby, while they're idle they'll do an animation connected to their hobby (eg. my sim who practices ballet, while idling started doing ballet positions)
The only good thing about Sims 4 is it's custom content made by everybody but EA. (I've seen fast builds that look thrice the quality of paid workers in EA, seen better clothes made for *FREE* by the fandom (Sims Resource, I love you), and mods that make the base game look cheap.)
Romantic and dining interactions were so varied in sims 2! Also I miss the cut scenes, they made it so cinematic. The family dynamic of someone placing a plate down for each member before joining was phenomenal. I loved watching the tv with the sims, it had much more choice of channels and ads! Sitting in a friend circle was one of the things I missed trying out.
I remember when I was playing with Don lothario on the sims 2, his bladder was slightly decreasing while he was showering. I was maybe 9 at the time, asked my brother why it was decreasing and he said “haven’t you peed in shower before?” and that’s how I found out people pee in shower.
When Sims die, other Sims will react according to their relationship with that sim: if they didn't like them, they will laugh while grim reaps their soul. Also Sims can plead for their loved one and have a chance of winning them back! Also at a Sims grave, they will mourn accordingly to their relationship with that sim: some include: crying, shrugging, shaking their head, looking down in sadness, etc. If they had a bad relationship, they can kick the grave
Oh yeah, there was that. I had a girl in Pleasantview that bloody hated that Marsha kid. I don't remember how it happened, but this one time, Marsha caught fire (I think she got too close to a burning leaf pile) and while she was dancing around screaming as she burned to death, my girl stood there pointing at her and pissing herself laughing - and we're talking full-on belly laughs! I sat there watching open-mouthed ... was I really seeing that? I know they're only game pixels, but I was still pretty disturbed at how she laughed like that at another child dying right in front of her. So there's one thing; Sims 2 kids were frackin' tough!
Another detail might be that dogs could lift themselves into the “seat windows” from mansion and garden stuff to look outside and bark And also teens could sneak out with friends at midnight and they could or could not be caught by their parents. The friend would go and pick them up in a car that’s quality depended on how rich the friend was Hmm sort of a strange one but unlike the sims 3 and 4 where all teenage animations are copied off of the adult ones, in sims 2 , teens “romantic hug “ was different to adult one and same goes for the “make out “ in the hot tub Growing up animations would be different depending on whether they grew up well or badly Oh I guess the whole memory system is also worth mentioning xd Parents could drive their kids to school and teens could drive themselves Oh also sims having their own fears based on their aspirations and tons of stuff was unique to sims 2 And so was stocking the fridge ! You would have to order groceries after a while and/or go shopping for them I’m not 100% sure but I think that having a rug in front of a lot chimney could cause a fire lol Sims 2 (holiday stuff) also had Santa Claus lol it was pretty hard to get him to come but you basically had to leave out Santa cookies and a few other things and he would leave you a present under the Christmas tree Oooh and there was a hidden “dancing skill” (which I guess is in sims 3 late night with the club dancing) but at least in vanilla sims 2, the more your sim dances , the better they’d get , they would eventually start spinning etc. They would go unlocking animations I’m not sure about sims 1 but career rewards were unique to sims 2 I think ? And unlike sims 3 , the lifetime aspiration points were usable objects that could be deadly if you used them without having your aspiration high (for example smart milk or the thing that would make ur needs go up) Depending on the sims aspiration they could unlock different perks (associated to that aspiration) I guess the unique mental breakdowns lol Oh and how about the different options you would get when you went to work ? Where if you picked wrong you could get fired and stuff In sims 3 and 4 you never have to “greet” first unlike sims 2 , and they would greet someone depending on how much they liked them , but since relationships weren’t always mutual , one of them could like the other and greet them happily whilst the other could hate them and give them a “hmph” for example Oh another good one would be that they would have different poses for their portraits , whereas sims 3 is all the same and sims 4 I guess just depends on the current emotion which in the end is all the same , as well as that when you would log into the household , the poses between the sims would depend on their relationships Parties could be broken up by cops I gotta say the fact that every age had their own walking style was so simple yet necessary Having a bad date could result in a bag of poo lit on fire at your doorstep lol Oh what about the “environment “ need ? That was only in sims 2 though I guess it was still there in the other actually but as buffs Sometimes the game would make sure your sim got punished for doing something like getting caught cheating by speeding up the animation that they were doing in order to get slapped Also gossip was a pretty strong tool in the sense that if , say , someone was getting cheated on and that persons sister catches them , they would not only lose relationship with the person cheating but also if you made them “gossip” to the person getting cheated on , they would find out The amount of candles on birthday cakes were according to the age Also maids were the only ones capable of cleaning puddles under an object And the fact that acquainted sims would always wave and say something whilst having that sim appear in their thought bubble whenever they walked into a room
AuzzPanda alot of these are in other games lol. Sims 1: -Environment Need -Santa Claus was in here -Chance Cards Sims 3: -Sims could sneak out -Memory System was here too -Parent’s could drive kids to school -Rugs could catch on fire near a chimney in this game too -Chance cards -Idk where ur on about this but you have to greet people in both sims 3 and 4 too lmao. -Parties can be broken up by cops as well Sims 4: -Had Chance cards as well
@@kentingz I think the greeting part was about inviting someone, where the guest would go to the front door and wait there untill greeted (or would leave after some time). While in Sims 3 I recall the guest would still wait by the door, but greeting was unnecessary, while in 4 guest outright walks into your house. And there was no chance cards in 1, only random events that you had no control over it (chance card is when you need to make a choice). Other than that you're right.
When a sim dies, their cremation urn is placed in the house. If another sim on the lot is really unhappy with their life, they can get so angry that they'll smash the urn and break it to pieces, even if it was their family member. It was kind of a scary and sad thing to witness, actually.
In sims 2, when it rains... some times sims will look out the window and react to it :) in sims 4... well, they usually just go out into the rain to find out it's raining and run back inside before they get struck by lightning... then once inside, they go out again, and so on. heh... - Also I have noticed that when you add chairs to a table, the chairs will be a little far, but once in play mode they'll go in. - Sims in sims 2 have better memory than in sims 3 and 4. - Sims in sims 2 have skills, interests and hobbies (unlike sims 4) - Music is better in sims 2 tbh lol Some things I'd love to have in sims 2 that sims 4 has is the multi-tasking though :)
@NS I I'm partly in agreement with you there. Graphically, the best one was S3 Seasons, but I liked the mechanics of the season changes more in S2 - I think they did it a lot better and more realistically. In S3, the weather and temperature will take a sudden change literally overnight when the season changes, as apposed to the more realistic gradual change you get in S2. I made one of my S2 neighbourhoods as a mountain/alpine village and it was winter for three out of the four seasons, the other being summer. I recall as it changed back to winter, it was still pretty hot for a good four days as the temperature slowly got colder. In S3, as summer changes to autumn, they're pulling on their outdoor clothes by the end of the first day. So yeah, S2 Seasons is for me, the best seasons pack for that reason, but it's not as aesthetically pleasing as the S3 one and the S4 seasons is ... well ... urrgh!
Haha, real talk tho, sims 4 was planned to be online, like the facebook sims game. I hope they update it for the better this year, or just move on to a fifth game.
YNiekAC i doubt the sims 5 is gonna be a thing. it’s been 6 years since the sims 4 came out. by now the sims 5 should of been out just like at this time the sims 4 came out when we had the sims 3
Tiffany Gomez Yeah we might have to wait a few more years. But I don’t think they are gonna let us wait another 5 years. EA needs to see that Sims 4 wasn’t a sucess
something I remember from waaaay back in ts2 was when I had one of my sims mothers die in a fire, her ghost began to haunt the house. And especially her Teen daughters room. The daugther cried every day. She also woke up with nightmares. I was 9 and pretty much let my sims do their own thing and just watched. But eventually the father began to read his traumatised teen dauther to sleep. I had never seen that before. But everyime she was about to go to bed, he just immediatly stopped what he was doing (watching tv mostly i think) and walked up the stairs and started to read for her until she fell asleep. Is that a thing that can get triggered in the game??? I
Oh, that sounds interesting. Yeah I've never seen that happen before, but I think Sims will automatically make their own sort of routine if they do something repeatedly for a certain amount of time. (I'm honestly not sure if the Sims 2 does that, but I know the Sims 4 does)
It's pretty crazy how personality, relationship, relevant skills and routines will make for such interactions. Especially that these things will happen naturally.
The entire attraction system is brilliant and includes turn ons/offs as well as interests, personality, gender preference, and aspiration so it isn't decided by just one thing.
4:40 and that's what makes the sims 2 so smooth and realistic, unlike the sims 3 & 4 where sims just stand for at least 30 in-game minutes before starting to do whatever they are told to.
vian jazz napoleon nah me neither, honestly i thought the open world thing was pretty cool and its missing on ts4, but i never liked the looking of the sims in sims 3, they kinda scared me looking like some weird ass dolls 😂
One of my favorite features in sims 2 is that when sim uses a plastic surgery machine and changes the appearance his kid is based on how the sim looks before the surgery. You can't hide anything in this game haha
Meanwhile if you change the hair colour (and eyebrow colour) of the parents while mom is pregnant in sims 4, the baby inherits the dyed hair....come on EA.
It's because in The Sims 2 genetics and looks are two separate files. I believe in The Sims 4 it's just one. Which is a shame, I would love to see some recessive genes come through! I loved how how in TS2 kids could look a lot like their grandparents, if they had them!
TS2 really is the most in-depth when it comes to genetics. It's so rewarding to see what happens generations down the down when someone inherits grandma's recessive genes.
In Sims 2 the windows fog in the cold. I also feel the way they "over did" the sound of seasons e.i. wind blowing in winter, actually made you want to light the fireplace! I still play it 💖
I really liked how in my sims 2 family the brother and sister sims would just sit on the floor and talk for hours before going to bed. Idk I just thought it was a really nice feature to see them all bonding like that and not fighting
I noticed during the Family Kiss one, when the brother and little sister had a family kiss, she wiped her mouth afterwards. That is just so adorable and spot on!
Sammmeeeee. I hate that TS4 have all clothes available. Also, people want Grocery Store venue but they forget we don't need to shop for ingredient to cook in TS4, it just come out of nowhere *smh*
I have some: When you get a money plant and have service people or any other sims on your lot, they will commonly steal the money from the plant sneakily. When you go on a date and it goes well, there's a very common chance that the sim will leave a bouquet of flowers, a single flower or a card at your Sims door with a cute note attached, but if it goes bad theres a chance they will leave a flaming bag of poop at your door. If a sim is furious with you, they might steal your newspaper in the mornings and knockover your trashcan at night, usually every night they do this!
I used to have one that would just sneak up in the early hours of the morning , knock it down and then run away with that evil smirk LOL always cracked me up!
This is why I love TS2 the most. It's the only Sims game I play and there's still these little small details I didn't even know about! Thank you for the video, keep it up x

These lists are exactly why everyone says Sims 2 was the best game. As Sims 4 proves, the little details (or lack thereof) are all that stands between your sims feeling real and engaging ... and your sims being boring lifeless robots who all act exactly the same. I actually reinstalled 2 a few weeks ago, to see whether it really was as good as people said, and although the graphics and build mode were a bit painful (the only things 4 has actually improved on), I was surprised and charmed by my sims in ways that I'd forgotten I could be! Clicking back onto my sim to find out why it was taking so long for him to eat, only to find that he'd fallen asleep face first in his cereal genuinely surprised me, and cracked me up! Seeing my sims staring out the window by himself, watching them interact with each other, all these little details are what give the sims life and make them seem like real people! I just wish more people would stop buying the ridiculous, empty expansion and stuff packs so that EA has to actually make some changes.
Not only turns-on's and -off's have to do with either our sim will find someone attractive but also their zodiac sign and aspiration. There's whole article about it on the sims wiki on "Chemistry". Not sure how it works in the other the Sims games as TS2 is the only one I played.
I wish they would bring back the expanded romantic options of different kisses and flirt interactions. Also, regarding Number 70, even back in the early 2000's, Maxis and EA knew that a minimum wage of $7.25 is too low!
I don't think it was mentioned, but if I remember from aaages ago, a kid isn't fed and they get re-homed by social services, they will obsessively check the fridge for food (because you know, you actually had to buy food in TS2 instead of having a magical always stocked fridge). Also not intentional but a funny bug, if you invite a sim child over to a family's lot, then go back to their original home and age them up, when you return to the first lot they will be an older sim body crammed into a child sim's skeleton. It's kind of hilarious.
the helicopter thing shocked the hell out of me when it happened, i just heard this loud whirling noise and it being a sims game i was obviously confused. then a dang helicopter showed up to pick up my sim (my sim married her, i didnt know she was that high up in the military career). one of the few times my jaw literally dropped
This makes my heart hurt. How did our favorite game slowly downgrade? Curse you EA. Also, time to buy Sims 2 again. I gave it away to a family member when Sims 3 came out and I purchased it. I regret it now. lol
@@cgcgc42 IIRC, you can't really buy Sims 2 in any way that would actually line EA's filthy pockets as they took it off Origin for purchase. It's pretty much abandonware now. But I do agree that they don't deserve a single penny.
Gotta do some more clarifications again:
- Sims 4 do have split screens in the console games, but the games will always use 4-player splitscreen regardless of the player's number.
- I'm gonna admit I got the "messy eating" wrong because you can eat messily as a slob sim in Sims 3 (not Sims 4 glutton eating, it's different than sloppy/slob)
- EDIT: Also admitting about the barista bar tending to be wrong because Sims 4 sims can tend on barista bar if there's no one tending, though they won't be paid hourly like in the video
- Yes, some of the features here are also in The Sims 1, but this video is titled "Sims 2 Details not in *Sims 3 and 4* ", remember?
- Some of you said toddlers can throw up as well when you play with them in Sims 3, but I can't seem to reproduce them in the game after doing it several times. Can you tell how do you do it?
OMG Please do Sims 3!!!!!
@@TheSimsTutorialsEg Oh man I tried it and they do tend the barista bar. Gonna edit the clarification again. Thanks!

That was puzzling ever since they announced emotions. No-one asked for them.

Also I was very pissed with the college expansion pack for the sims 4, the expansion pack trailer makes it look like you can do a lot. But in reality there’s only like 3 buildings you can actually go to (depending what college you pick)
In sims 3 you had a backpack every time you went to classes, and on top of that you can actually see your sims in classes, and you can make them do stuff like take notes, nap..etc.

Seriously, if they just mixed TS2 and TS3. You'd have a pretty solid perfect game. Or pretty close I'd say.
I think if they added the build system from ts4 too that would be a real perfect game!
Seriously! I would have been happy with ts3 just being an expanded ts2 with updated graphics. They lost that "bizarre" charm sims had in 1 and 2.
@Lord Bawank I like TS3 CAS just fine. It's even better with mods and much easier than ts4. Ts4's is not intuitive.

That’s because sims are made to make money and they aren’t a passion project anymore. But I feel the attention to detail lacks in other games now too. The whole industry has changed..
Will Wright isn't the Head guy anymore.
To be fair, the sims 4 has a massive graphics and UI boost that would crash most people's PC if open world was available.

Just imagine how great the sims 4 could have been... disappointing
I think I read somewhere they are going to be updating it a hell of of a lot this year to a lot of these things baby the most
Ellis Vamplew I really hope thats true 😭

You can see that in sim 3
Yesss,. That shit is so important! Makes it so so much more realistic.. You cant fuck with genes😛

That because Maxis loved and cared and EA doesn't

Sims 3 does that.
Conclusion: The Sims 2 is more realistic than the other games.
Bise_Moon and The sims 2 was the Best game in whole series
another detail fact: You can get rid of a romantic rival for a while by bribing him with 50 simoleons. Works every time!
No sims 3 has a lot of realistic details too and beautiful scenery check your facts
@@maroos_1355 no sims 3 has a lot of details and lore as well people are to lazy to look forit
1 gets a pass for being old, 3 kinda balances out 2 with other details, 4 I can't speak for.
It ticks me off how Sims in future games don’t keep their wedding/engagement ring. I always had to go into cas in TS3 to give them wedding rings
I loved when in TS2 sims could actually put on signs when their retail store was going to be open or closed. TS2 is such a detailed and awesome game, I don't think I'd ever be bored of it :)
As someone who’s always played Sims 2 and always will, I’m happy and excited to see how popular Sims 2 seems to be getting again. 🥳
Lover And Fighter how did u find it i rlly need it rn
mikayla crider I found it on EBay. Just looked up sims 2 full collection. The one I got was $7
These small, little tiny detail made the sim world really feel "alive", not just a simulation of robot that look like human.
In the Sims 2, there is also a changeroom that has a security camera above, and when a sim goes in to change, the camera points through a hole on the top to watch them change
😈
Wow! Lol
he should show when 2 sims woohoo in the change room or even a hot tub in a public place! it's hilarious! other customers stand outside room and cheer them when they exit! BUT don't forget Mrs.Crumplebottom! Oh my SHE is a real hoot! And the cow plant too that's another funny thing.
Wait what
@@bestofsmall
The other games are severally lacking in Crumplebottom.
I had two sims in college, they ate together and threw food to each other. And what happend? They fell in love for eachother. Because of throwing food. Wtf 😂
yeah i experience that too i think its a bug haha
That's so adorable lol That's like elementary school or a movie
my sim initially didnt find his friend attractive but when they went ice skating i made them spin together and then they both developed crushes at each other 🥺
Only a few of these aren’t from the base game, honestly the sims 2 base game was complete without the need for expansions, unlike sims 3&4
Also the beta version of sims 2 had rain and cars in the base game!!
Cutupuss sims 2 base game didnt have the hobbies, turn ons and turn offs, and the chemistry system so idk what your on about.
That's awesome! I really miss Sims 2. Might have to install it again 🤗
Ooooh I remember that one! TS2 is just the best!
Are you a Asian mum?
2 sims is the best out of the whole sims franchise, with sims 3 coming second. The only good thing about sims 4 is it’s graphics, mods & cc
Princess Dream FACTS. I still play sims 2 & 3 in 2020. 😌
Little Dica.
The only good thing about Sims 4 is it's custom content made by everybody but EA.
(I've seen fast builds that look thrice the quality of paid workers in EA, seen better clothes made for *FREE* by the fandom (Sims Resource, I love you), and mods that make the base game look cheap.)
Sims 4 with all dlc > All other. But base game is terrible. Not to mention all of their dlc are expensive af.
Sims 2 best for gameplay and actually playing your sims and sims 4 best for creating lots or sims
Or in fact, even destroy the urne. Watch it though, destroying/deleting graves messes with your neighborhood!
So there's one thing; Sims 2 kids were frackin' tough!
ruclips.net/video/7Zl25ny5ViU/видео.html
Another detail might be that dogs could lift themselves into the “seat windows” from mansion and garden stuff to look outside and bark
And also teens could sneak out with friends at midnight and they could or could not be caught by their parents. The friend would go and pick them up in a car that’s quality depended on how rich the friend was
Hmm sort of a strange one but unlike the sims 3 and 4 where all teenage animations are copied off of the adult ones, in sims 2 , teens “romantic hug “ was different to adult one and same goes for the “make out “ in the hot tub
Growing up animations would be different depending on whether they grew up well or badly
Oh I guess the whole memory system is also worth mentioning xd
Parents could drive their kids to school and teens could drive themselves
Oh also sims having their own fears based on their aspirations and tons of stuff was unique to sims 2
And so was stocking the fridge ! You would have to order groceries after a while and/or go shopping for them
I’m not 100% sure but I think that having a rug in front of a lot chimney could cause a fire lol
Sims 2 (holiday stuff) also had Santa Claus lol it was pretty hard to get him to come but you basically had to leave out Santa cookies and a few other things and he would leave you a present under the Christmas tree
Oooh and there was a hidden “dancing skill” (which I guess is in sims 3 late night with the club dancing) but at least in vanilla sims 2, the more your sim dances , the better they’d get , they would eventually start spinning etc. They would go unlocking animations
I’m not sure about sims 1 but career rewards were unique to sims 2 I think ?
And unlike sims 3 , the lifetime aspiration points were usable objects that could be deadly if you used them without having your aspiration high (for example smart milk or the thing that would make ur needs go up)
Depending on the sims aspiration they could unlock different perks (associated to that aspiration)
I guess the unique mental breakdowns lol
Oh and how about the different options you would get when you went to work ? Where if you picked wrong you could get fired and stuff
In sims 3 and 4 you never have to “greet” first unlike sims 2 , and they would greet someone depending on how much they liked them , but since relationships weren’t always mutual , one of them could like the other and greet them happily whilst the other could hate them and give them a “hmph” for example
Oh another good one would be that they would have different poses for their portraits , whereas sims 3 is all the same and sims 4 I guess just depends on the current emotion which in the end is all the same , as well as that when you would log into the household , the poses between the sims would depend on their relationships
Parties could be broken up by cops
I gotta say the fact that every age had their own walking style was so simple yet necessary
Having a bad date could result in a bag of poo lit on fire at your doorstep lol
Oh what about the “environment “ need ? That was only in sims 2 though I guess it was still there in the other actually but as buffs
Sometimes the game would make sure your sim got punished for doing something like getting caught cheating by speeding up the animation that they were doing in order to get slapped
Also gossip was a pretty strong tool in the sense that if , say , someone was getting cheated on and that persons sister catches them , they would not only lose relationship with the person cheating but also if you made them “gossip” to the person getting cheated on , they would find out
The amount of candles on birthday cakes were according to the age
Also maids were the only ones capable of cleaning puddles under an object
And the fact that acquainted sims would always wave and say something whilst having that sim appear in their thought bubble whenever they walked into a room
AuzzPanda alot of these are in other games lol.
Sims 1:
-Environment Need
-Santa Claus was in here
-Chance Cards
Sims 3:
-Sims could sneak out
-Memory System was here too
-Parent’s could drive kids to school
-Rugs could catch on fire near a chimney in this game too
-Chance cards
-Idk where ur on about this but you have to greet people in both sims 3 and 4 too lmao.
-Parties can be broken up by cops as well
Sims 4:
-Had Chance cards as well
@@kentingz I think the greeting part was about inviting someone, where the guest would go to the front door and wait there untill greeted (or would leave after some time). While in Sims 3 I recall the guest would still wait by the door, but greeting was unnecessary, while in 4 guest outright walks into your house.
And there was no chance cards in 1, only random events that you had no control over it (chance card is when you need to make a choice).
Other than that you're right.
Kamil Kuliga no... u had to greet people in 3. Also yeah my bad i havent touched 1 in a while
@@kentingz Ok, I might be wrong about that one because I didn't touched 3 for like 5 or 6 years (because it's a pain to install all of it).
The poo on fire after a bad date had me rofl. We should do that in real life as well.
- Sims in sims 2 have skills, interests and hobbies (unlike sims 4)
- Music is better in sims 2 tbh lol
Some things I'd love to have in sims 2 that sims 4 has is the multi-tasking though :)
Does Sims 4 even has memories
Omg I remember the chairs going nearer the table, what a detail
So yeah, S2 Seasons is for me, the best seasons pack for that reason, but it's not as aesthetically pleasing as the S3 one and the S4 seasons is ... well ... urrgh!

@@EliseKessels It's kind of like the Sims 3 one but skimpier
So basically the newer Sims became just as lazy as we have in real life
Damnnnn that burns
Haha, real talk tho, sims 4 was planned to be online, like the facebook sims game. I hope they update it for the better this year, or just move on to a fifth game.
Sym Sims 4 has been around for quite a long time now. They should just take there time with Sims 5 and make something incredible
I remember how much I enjoyed to see the cinematics when something important happened in sim's life. So nostalgic.
They can walk while reading?! MY heart yearns for the Sims 2 once more.
You would think the multitasking Sims of 4 should be able to do that, but NOOOOOO
something I remember from waaaay back in ts2 was when I had one of my sims mothers die in a fire, her ghost began to haunt the house.
Yeah that’s rare, I’ve never seen it or heard of it before. Beautiful though.
In TS4 it's only possible to read for toddlers. :( Also, it's not done automatically, as far as I've noticed.
Wow, AI was years ahead of time in TS2!
Damn! This makes me realize that I miss turn ons and turn offs from the Sims 2. I wish they kept this in the sequels!!
You can download a mod that does the same thing!
The entire attraction system is brilliant and includes turn ons/offs as well as interests, personality, gender preference, and aspiration so it isn't decided by just one thing.
This game was made with so much care and thought. Love it
Same.
I'm literally crying because I miss the Sims 2 so much, I wish my computer was still able to play it because I would never play Sims 4 again 😭

4:40 and that's what makes the sims 2 so smooth and realistic, unlike the sims 3 & 4 where sims just stand for at least 30 in-game minutes before starting to do whatever they are told to.
ikkixsims i just hate it. sometimes it just not works. they waste so much time until they react
Ugh, my sim takes like 2 hours to eat a cereal bowl...
Drives me nuts.
They just stand around doing nothing
but on the computer too? because I play it on the ps4 and a friend told me she doesn't have this problem on PC
vian jazz napoleon nah me neither, honestly i thought the open world thing was pretty cool and its missing on ts4, but i never liked the looking of the sims in sims 3, they kinda scared me looking like some weird ass dolls 😂
It's so rewarding to see what happens generations down the down when someone inherits grandma's recessive genes.
let’s admit all together sims 2 is the best and sweetest game of all
I can admit that
Yes, I will admit that, even though The Sims 3 is my favorite part, The Sims 2 from what I can see about it, it's simply the best.
Its only subjective, yet I prefer 3
Yes!!
I want a t-shirt with "the sims 4 could never"
In Sims 2 the windows fog in the cold. I also feel the way they "over did" the sound of seasons e.i. wind blowing in winter, actually made you want to light the fireplace! I still play it 💖
Sims 3 too
sims 3 has both foggy windows and wind howling in the winter in Seasons pack
When you open the freezer to buy groceries the glass fogs for awhile.
The sims 4 does these things too
I play all three games. It’s just the way S2 does it that I love! I didn’t play much S3 but liked the ice off the roof detail.
I really liked how in my sims 2 family the brother and sister sims would just sit on the floor and talk for hours before going to bed. Idk I just thought it was a really nice feature to see them all bonding like that and not fighting
The wedding ring thing was missed in sims 3. At a glance I could see if someone was married.
Captain Karen Obvious I miss it too, I just wish it was on the ring finger not the middle lol
I have to physically put a wedding ring on my Sims in the Sims 4. I miss the automatic wedding rings.
No Sims 3 also have engaging and wedding rings !
I noticed during the Family Kiss one, when the brother and little sister had a family kiss, she wiped her mouth afterwards. That is just so adorable and spot on!
I love that you have to buy clothes in Sims 2.
And stock your fridge! And you had to have a baby sitter or you couldn't leave the lot!
Sammmeeeee. I hate that TS4 have all clothes available. Also, people want Grocery Store venue but they forget we don't need to shop for ingredient to cook in TS4, it just come out of nowhere *smh*
Andy
I don’t even play Sims 4 anymore. It’s a money racket. A laundry day pack? Seriously?
I have some:
When you get a money plant and have service people or any other sims on your lot, they will commonly steal the money from the plant sneakily.
They can also kick your grave or throw your ashes
hahaha the last happened me always
Yes, I remember ALL of these
I used to have one that would just sneak up in the early hours of the morning , knock it down and then run away with that evil smirk LOL always cracked me up!
Another little detail: when you flush the toilet in Sims 2, the water actually spins.
EDIT: was not expecting to get 1K likes 😂😂
No way
WHAT!
NANI?!
What?! I never noticed

It's kind of hilarious.
yo anyone remember couch make out animation from sims 2? that thing was HOT

Back when the sims did not fuck around 😂
Little detail: sim can snap when walking
and whistle!
And do the eyyyyyyyy finger guns
And clap too
the helicopter thing shocked the hell out of me when it happened, i just heard this loud whirling noise and it being a sims game i was obviously confused. then a dang helicopter showed up to pick up my sim (my sim married her, i didnt know she was that high up in the military career). one of the few times my jaw literally dropped
Didn't you ever watch that video when the game starts? There's a helicopter right there
@@INeedYouToBreathe nope i have a mod that removes the intro both in sims 2 and 3. it annoys me

@@cgcgc42 IIRC, you can't really buy Sims 2 in any way that would actually line EA's filthy pockets as they took it off Origin for purchase. It's pretty much abandonware now. But I do agree that they don't deserve a single penny.
