UPDATE: I uploaded another video adding 50 MORE fun little details in Sims 2. Watch it here: ruclips.net/video/IFzHdwgjS0c/видео.html For those wanting The Sims 2 to work in Windows 10, there's a tutorial on how to make it work here: pleasantsims.com/sims-2-windows-10/ Hope it works!
Don't forget that you actually had to buy groceries when the fridge run out of food and go shopping for clothes if you wanna change outfit...I'm really missing these details!
I know!!!! I was wondering where the grocery stores were, the schools that we were able to go to, the fact that you could get in a car to travel! Just remembering how they even had spiral stairs and now they are nowhere to be found!
Little details like these can be easily overlooked, but in hindsight, they're the one that makes the most impression to everyone. It makes the game grounded and real, even with all it's limitations. And, omg, so many of them are just very heartwarming. Gotta love the child-parent interactions 💚 Kudos for finding these little details (I'm sure there are more!) and reminded me how awesome this game is 👍
I used to find it interesting that sims in TS2 could build up knowledge regarding different topics, and that the knowledge would depend on how much time spent on it. It was also kinda sweet that they (after the hobby-pack) would pick a favourite hobby, and be inclined to spend time on it automatically. Not like the generic “I like art, so I’ll just write, paint and play music altogether” that we’ve had in TS3 and TS4. To me it also seemed like they built up knowledge regarding their favourite hobby a tad faster than other topics. It definitely made the sims more diverse and unique, although it always bugged me that their hobbies seemed to be chosen randomly
Brandi LeTourneu became one of my favorite sims when she came to visit my sim who was a widower with 3 small children. She had visited a few times and had played with the kids a bit and was friendly with them, the kids went to bed adults were watching t.v. Brandi gets up, I thought to go to bathroom but watched she went into kids room and tucked them in one by one on her own as I wasn't controlling her as she was a guest! I was amazed and from then on she has been a main member in every game I've had since.
This, Sims 2 really feels like a passion project. All the insane details, all the goofy interactions, it must have been really fun for them making the game. It's been really going downhill since. While Sims 3 made some huge improvements while taking a few cuts here and there, Sims 4 is just a bare minimum of what qualifies as a Sims game.
The Sims 2 was so incredibly detailed, it's actually amazing. we could only dream about kids greeting their parents when they come home in The Sims 4. and couples cuddling in bed was so cute!
i also miss babies you could actually interact with, the changing table, kids throwing a tantrum and shaking the bars of their crib, robbers, police the sims 4 could be so much better if they put a little more time into it
I waited until December 2018 to get the Sims 4. I didn’t know until this week that toddlers didn’t come with the base game! That was off-topic. My actual comment is that my child Sims in my first Sims 4 household greeted their parents. It must have been a glitch bc it hasn’t happened in any other household, and this video says it isn’t in Sims 4. So much disappointment 😞
It may surprise you, but in the sims 4 Cats greet their guardians when they come back from work (if they have a good relationship), (and I think i saw childrens doing it too, but i can't remember it very well)
Oh my god so that why I always had a puddle downstairs in the exact position where my broken bathtub was upstairs?? I assume it was the dog peeing lol. The Sims 2 is so great I can’t even describe it
CursedChad you can also get fired from your job if you made a wrong desicion when the decision thing came up while your sims at work. Edit: apparently it can also happened in both Sims 3 and Sims 4 -_-
i decided once to look at the stars at night so my sim would have some relax, then a satellite fell on his head and killed him with a huge explosion. Best game ever.
Sims 3 too in most areas. The open world is cool but not a big deal for me, I love all the face and body sliders and the color wheel is EVERYTHING. And personally I prefer Sims 2 and 3 graphics over Sims 4 Cartoon(even on highest settings there's barely any change that kills me). The CAS and Build Mode are the only improvements in my opinion.
Same, I basically only play Sims 4 to create sims these days and when I do play the game, it's usually to test out a new or updated mod. Seriously, if it weren't for CC creators and CAS, Sims 4 would be unplayable.
That awkward moment when you were 12 and your sims had woohoo for the first time and the screen would show up and you couldn’t skip it and that exact second your parents would walk into the room👀
In sims 2, you could also enroll your kids in a private school when they had good grades. To get there you had to invite the principle and impress him with a good meal and showing him that your family had good manners. I found it so much fun!
This was my fav part of the game. I had a poor family and couldn’t impress the headmaster so my kid didn’t get into private school. The whole house was depressed.
You forgot details like : - In sims 2 every sim carries dominant genes (the one they show), and recessive genes (that are not visible, but it's possible for them to appear in later generation). -Shy Sims sometimes wring their hands and look anxious. They are fearful about diving into pools and will often back off the diving board after getting on it. Also when being admired, a shy sim will act very timid. - On the other hand outgoing sim while being admired Will act confident -sloppy Sims eat messily, and they flatulate more often. -A sim who grew up well will live longer than a sim who grow up badly. -A Romance Sim instructed to do a "Romantic" social on another Sim will do the swag walk as he/she walks over to him/her.
Oh yes, the beloved swag walk, LOL. What's impressive is that the Sims 2 team even went through the effort of creating a different flirty walk style for males and females, and they walk down the stairs as if they're happy too.
potts995 In TS4 female and male sims act differently from each other when flirty, but personally I would like if we could choose the sims’ body language (like we can choose their walk style) so that it’s not dependent on their sex.
They redirected their attention away from details and towards bigger features. Depending on who you are, that’s either an improvement or it’s really disappointing. I personally don’t care
If you say the word "Fun details" to an EA executive, they think of large set pieces with elaborate animations, like a sim getting comically crushed by a murphy bed. In reality, it is these little "blink and you miss it" animation details that sims with different personalities have when doing relatively mundane things. I'd much rather have the latter than the former.
That makes sense now... sims 3 and on and I’ve just been bored when I used to be able to play for days on end. I know I’m getting older but glad to know it’s not just me.
Well, I'm a teenager (16) and I'm taller than the average adult. I think there should be more steps to the age. Like preteen, where you're older than a kid but younger than a teen
I miss the little animations that would play when your sims got married, had their first kiss, or had children, etc. Those little videos were always so cute!
I actually remember being so disappointed when that didn't happen(Sims 4) when my simmers got married and stuff, there was just something so off about it!
And the funniest thing is that the neighbour always has a telescope too, and consequently we could deduce that the neighbour had caught our sim spying him actually doing the same!!! XD
anyone who doesn’t agree that sims 2 is the best sims game, simply never played it. everything about this game made me happy and experience so many emotions. 😢
Ive played Sims 2 a lot of times but I dont think it's the best I think it's amazing but there is a lot of things missing just like any other Sims Games.
@@idk_who2320 you're right, me specifically though, I had a lot of fun memories with that game and I loved the soundtrack and everything. Even the console version was fun xD
Sims 3 is definitely better. Sims 2 is great (I have played it and grew up wanting the hell out of it). Sims 2 wins for details but sims 3’s gameplay is just absolutely something different.
Oh I miss that to so much. Alot of these little things I didn't notice were removed but I kept searching for their memory for days when getting the new sims. How could they remove that. I like looking at all their memorys. First kiss, first woohoo, child...
There's a feature in sims 4 when you take a Screenshot of something you can make it a memory in the gallery when on a image i believe. It can trigger an emotion when recalled
One little thing you missed: In The Sims 2 the Grandfather clock it's actually functional. if it is kept wound, it will show the current time on the lot, and will chime every 6 hours. The chimes will wake any Sims who are sleeping in the same room as the clock. The clock is fully wound when bought, and will run down 72 game hours after being bought or wound. If it is allowed to run down, it will start again as soon as it is wound. Sims may wind the clock autonomously, but will usually need to be directed to wind it by the player.
all the analogic clocks in the sims 1/2 are functional not just the grandfather clock... only the digital ones don't work....... analogic clocks also work on the sims 3 (but not all of then)
@@gabrielandy9272 Actually, this is one thing that Sims3 did better than Sims2. In Sims2 only the minute hand moves correctly, as the hour hand is set on the number, making a fairly odd transition between a minute to, o'clock, and a minute past... In Sims3 though, both hands move correctly...
Of all the games, this one has the most charm to me just because the Sims are so reactive and the world reacts to them as well, it just feels like the most organic out of the games. I've heard about the TV falling but it never happened to me so it was cool to see it in action, thank you!
@@theariesk you can play sims 2 history of lifes or stories (dont know the name in english) and the version with pets. Is sims 2 but with a story to follow. Only 1 or two i think🤔😅 i dont remember but i love it
@@milin.9369 Thats actually a good point, I forgot about those. They made 3 I believe, life stories, pet stories, and castaway stories. I'm lucky to have all 3. :)
In my opinion The Sims 4 looks like a Pixar movie to me. Even the animations are cartoony and I'm not a fan as I prefer something more realistic. The graphics of The Sims 3 and Medieval are beautiful, though the Sims in TS3 have that pudding face :/
@@Rayzor98 That's not true. They do care! About money. Not the consumers, of course. LOL. I hope EA dies soon and somebody decent takes over all of their games.
Terrell Nance it actually is unfinished... look up “Sims 4 Olympus” .. it was supposed to be an online game first but was abruptly scrapped and so the game we have now is the (especially when it was released in 2014) unfinished online version. Sad.
Preach hun preach. I was absolutely stunned to see the tiniest but amazing details that were left out of TS4. I've heard many say that sims 2 was outstanding but I didn't take them on. Guess I see why they said this now.
Forever thankful to be in the generation of people who was an actual kid when this game came out - best game ever! So nostalgic and made my childhood much more memorable ❤
@@surethabadenhorst Appreciate how the uploader mentioned that these details are NOT in Sims 3. People have a very rose coloured view on that game. I remember it being quite disappointing!
@@sayno2lolzisback deffinitely, I was disappointed and taken aback with the whole whole neighbourhood aging on and off, i only like my current household to age so at least they fixed that in TS4. Going from TS1 to TS2 was legendary 110%
@@sayno2lolzisback I remember that nobody wanted to buy Sims 3, they were super anti. Then we caved in and bought it. It definitely has its pros regarding the graphics but Sims 2 gameplay was just awesome.
I remember when my business CEO Sim would come home from his work in the helicopter and the whole family would run outside to wave and greet him at his landing. God I loved Sims 2.
I loved this, even though I played the sims 2 for years I didn’t notice some of them. You might have missed a few, I don’t know if they occur in 3 or 4: - Lazy/untidy sims will sometimes fart when they’re alone, proceed to sniff the air and chuckle - they will also eat in a more illmannered way, for example when they’re eating cereal, they will chew with their mouth open and spill the milk - in the Four seasons extension, sims who walk in the snow without warm winterclothes might freeze solid, fall over and remain there until somebody eventually comes around and heats them up with a hair dryer. They will be fine but keep a very pale skin color for a while after this - there’s one item of decor, a plastic flamingo, which a sim can kick over in order to offend the house owner. They will acknowledge this and be mad. I loved these details, do they exist in the following games as well?
I was going to comment this and the option to try things on! and going to the night club and the intention to scan the room to see who my sim thought was attractive! I miss that stuff
I've got another one: If a Sims is sleeping in a bed and another Sims is using a telephone right next to the sleeping Sims, the sleeping Sims will sit up in the bed and get anoyed at the other sims.
I loved that. Making sure the house was nicely decorated for the tour and my sims' cooking skills were high so they'd make a fancy dinner. So much fun.
Another thing: in Sims 2 they actually had to buy the clothes first and not just randomly had them. I know it’s kinda bothering to go buy them, but it makes everything much more realistic. But what i definitely miss from Sims 3 is that you could zoom out of them map and could just go everywhere without a loading screen🙄
I don’t know if anyone else remembers this, in Sims 2 your sins would remember life events in chronological order. I miss this because it would tell a unique story for each of your sims...
I hated it when it came out because the graphics are too high quality and it makes the game run slowly. only now can I play the graphics set on high, only on one of my computers, the other I still need it set to minimum. So the graphics should have been worse.
@@morgantrias3103 What kind of potato are you playing on? Please don’t tell me you’re one of the people that just goes to Best Buy and buys a netbook expecting it to play games.
@@subarashiiashi3894 Like, if my computer can run the sims 3 and the sims 4 just fine, but it struggles to run the sims 2, it's not the computers problem, is it?
Regarding the falling asleep on food part: I actually witnessed two sims eating and one suddenly fell asleep the other sim had an awkward expression as soon as it happened then did an uh awkward look around
Yes, I've had that happen too and it's hilarious, Sims 3 and 4 could never! It's still fun to see how Sims react to things like nudity, their parents or strangers flirting, Sims farting (which they will occasionally do after eating the sloppier they are), etc. in Sims 2, especially because sometimes the reactions depend on the personalities of the Sims themselves. Those little details are so missed!
Maxis did their research for Sims 2. If I remember right, because I rarely use hot tubs when I play Sims 2, pregnant sims can't get into hot tubs, either. It really was the best game in the series in terms of content and details. It kind of went downhill from there, unfortunately. Animations and details became boring and cheap, as if EA doesn't have the money to do it well or something, which we know is a huge lie/excuse; they make plenty of money to have, let's say, an animation for kids to be able to use bikes, but Sims 4 bikes don't work for kids without a mod.
@Anna333 I actually like Sims 3 now. I was disappointed when I got it, because I missed a lot of Sims 2. Sims 2 was such a genius game. But I play sims 3 now. It has some good features too. I love the color tool. In Sims 2 I was always upset when furniture didn't fit XD Sims 3 has some details that Sims 2 hasn't. But yeah... SIms 2 had the most details and it was just made with love.. Sims 3 is very lazy in many points, especially when it comes to things that appear out of nowhere. The Sims of Sims 2 had to go and get it by themselves. It was more realistic.
When I had a shy sim make the first move to either talk or flirt, they'll point themselves in a fearful/timid way while looking up at the camera before doing their creators bidding! Edit: most liked post ever and its about me torturing my sim self to be social. The irony xD
Someone needs to send this to EA. I play the Sims 4 a lot, but then I get bored because it all seems so..lifeless and then I leave it again for a few months. Hoping Sims 5 comes back to making a Life simulation, you know, lively. I certainly won't make the mistake of pre-ordering until I know.
@@angelface101ful on sims 2 you could make your own totally original town from scratch though, the closest you get in sims 3 is removing building and putting new ones
People make worlds all the time in sims 3. To build your own town, you need to download the external Create a World Tool (which has been in beta ever since its release and is likely never going to get any updates ever again). The "issue" is that sims 3 is a bit more realistic and the worlds require much more skill and work to be considered decent.
Yep and sometimes Sims left other Sims at the altar. They got all nervous and made a run for it - and everyone at the wedding then had a negative buff for the person who ran.
i never stopped😁 just kept transferring save files from computer to computer all these years. i own 3 and 4 but always end up back at 2 when i get that sims itch
Oh yes, and when a sim is leaving for work and passing through the room with other family members, he or she says goodbye to them while passing by them!
Sims 2 was technically the first "serious" Sims Game, since Sims 1 was too limited and pretty much was comedic more than life simulation, they needed to get people, today they're lazy af cuz' they already have people that buys everything they made even if good or not.
Achmad Putra they're just straight up lazy... they had the animation from the previous games, why not re-used them ? It doesn't matter who made the game, if you put your heart and soul into it, i'm sure it'll be a good game. Instead, sims 4 just releasing a quick cashgrab they called "Stuff Pack". Sorry for my rant :)
To be fair TS1 was more limited by the times and the fact that it was the first game of its kind. While it is goofy it had some touches that were more realistic than TS2. Light bulbs could go out and you had to change them; bills were higher if you left the TV on, you had to water indoor plants, etc.
@Achmad Putra sure they have limited time and resources but most of them didin't even play previous sims games. They comfired it on many lives. They don't know the lore of the sims that's why ts4 is so boring and flat
Achmad Putra it seems that you didn't get my point there bucko... I've played all of the sims games for PC, even the spin off and Most people agree that sims 3 is WAY *better* than the sims 4. It had more content and story than sims 4. I'm sorry if you didn't get to enjoy the sims 3.
WE NEED to share this video on twitter with the sims gurus. They need to see what we miss in sims 4. These tiny things make it feel so much better. Rn I just want to go back and play the sims 2 and I will. I wish the sims 4 would step into these steps a bit more. My hopes are slowly dying
They dont really need to see as most gurus on the team actually was on the team from S2 think the bigger problem is Will Wright didnt work on any of the games after sims 2 so everything took a nose dive in the care and love init
"who doesn't close the fridge doors slowly to see when the lights are off back when we were young?" I uh... definitely don't still do this.. yeah... definitely...
You know what I’d love? Sims that had the points system and gameplay from 2, the open world, traits, and aspirations from 3, and the emotions from 4. It can’t be that hard, right?
yes please EA, take note of all the good things Sims 2 had and do the same with Sims 5! We want a bit more effort put into the the sims again not just updated graphics.
sims 2 actually felt like life. the little animations of parents tucking in their kids and giving them kisses made the families feel more realistic. the sims three kids just felt like little burdens even with good relationships it just doesnt feel like the parents and kids have a bond
And there were police, firefighters and thieves, as well as the racoon! 😂 I also loved that the teenagers could ask for permission to go party and if the parents said no they could try to sneak out (they could succeed, get caught by the parents or brought home by the police), that the sims could lose their minds and that if two sims were angry at each other the anger lasted a lot (not like the sims 4 that you can be arguing and the next second kissing). And memories!! Basically I loved sims 2.
Does anyone remember when toddlers would play with the dollhouse in the sims 2, and they'd put the dolls in their mouths and when you click on something else as the toddler(with the doll in their mouth) the doll's head would be sticking out of the toddler's mouth?
another detail that I love was that when it came to relationships it sometimes took a while for both sims to feel the same way also the memory system. it's pretty sad to think that a game made in the early 2000s is more advance then a game made in the 2010s
Yeah, Sims 4 is weird, you can make two Sims act like they've know each other their whole lives....they only met this morning. I know relationships can be fast in real life, and in the Sims they need to be a bit fast for the gameplay but even in Sims context, a day is too quick to trust somebody like that and up-heave your life and move in and get married and then try for kids.....it's more than a rushed relationship.
@@Xegethra Right? They need a daily meter that they can max out to attempt to fill a long-term relationship meter. That would be ideal, for me. Also, it bugs the heck outta me that they feel equally about each other. Unrequited love is impossible.
The Sims 4: We created this emotions system to make your sims act more realistic! The Sims 2: Hold my floppy pizza. edit: never had more than like 50 likes and here I have 3k??? thank you guys.
Also keep in mind that The Sims 2 was going to be even better and more detailed. There was a fire in the office and a lot of data was lost. What we ended up getting is a slightly downgraded version. And it's still this good.
I think almost no one had a good enough computer. The game ran very slowly. Even now my computer does not find the sims 2 easy to run. I hated the Sims 2 when it came out. Only 15 years on can I play it at a reasonable speed without being a millionaire with a supercomputer.
@morgantrias3103 then you might want to see if you filled your pc with junk?.. Because I had a basic ass 2013 laptop with 4GB RAM and could run Sims 3 with a bunch of expansions pretty decently. If that’s not enough… I could even run sims 3 on my mom’s 2000 brick-like laptop, albeit it would crash. You should be able to run Sims 2 well enough, unless you’ve done something to your PC (viruses, disk is full, you run a bunch of apps at the same time etc…)
one thing of the older sims version that i like is relationship level may not be the same for both parties. like A may think of B as 100, but B thinks of A as only 50. so many weird and awesome situations could happen from this...
If I'm remembering this correctly, Sims with more Outgoing points will be more expressive during conversation and Sims who are more Shy will be more reserved and speak softer.
Also when children play chess, there's a pile of books so that they can reach the table 💖 and when they have to answer the phone or use the sink appears that little bench, i loved that so bad
@@gtfo3609 if youre talking physical discs then they're going to be hard to find, it's better off paying 6 dollars on ebay for a digital copy of the game :D happy simming
same i dont play the sims 4 anymore cause im not enjoying it. I have the sims 2 as a disc that my cousin gave me and i havent played it. Im thinking of playing it right now!
I've been playing Sims 2 for 10+ years, and some of these things I didn't even know about! This game is full of surprises and it'll never get old for me :)
Meg Green hey, what type of computer do you have to play sims 2. ?Ir just seems like computers now a days have operating systems that are too advanced to support sims 2
@@RaM-cx6nf I have a Lenovo laptop (no idea what version because I'm not really a techy person). I've had it for a few years, and The Sims 2 works really well on it. I've never really played Sims 4 so I don't know how well it would work on here though
Something I noticed while playing The Sims 2 yesterday - whenever you compliment shy sims they get all embarrassed and do sort of a 👉🏻👈🏻 thing. I thought it was really cute.
Sims 2 had a proper (albeit simplistic) genetics system with dominant and recessive genes. The romance system with turn-ons and turn-offs, so you could not just romance any sim and have a great relationship. The gameplay in TS2 is so much more charming and fun. It may not have traits or the amount of aspirations the following games have, but two romance sims could have completely different personalities with different turn-ons and turn-offs which made gameplay a lot of fun and somewhat unpredictable. I never got into TS3 and I mostly only build in TS4, but I could go on-and-on about my love for TS2. Oh, and because I have to mention it, BABIES ARE INTERACTIVE AND NOT OBJECTS, especially when they introduce the baby items at the end. God I miss that so much!
Actaully, there are some people on tumblr thattook model out of the game and just smoothed them so they look not as janky anymore. And to everyones surprise, the models actually look better than Sims 3 and like a just slightly more realistic style than 4. So uuhh... a complete remaster of Sims 2 could be exactly that.
Focusing on the graphics is the whole reason The Sims 4 is bad. That's the only thing EA did right. And they forgot about everything else that makes The Sims 2 great such as the AI. In The Sims 4 everything seams broken. Sims show up wearing random outfits and not the ones you planned out. When you're trying to have a serious moment there is someone doing push-ups. -This isn't your fault. Obviously I'm blaming the creators.
So, basically it goes like this: Sims 2 was a labor of love and endless exploration of endless animation possibilities. Sims 3 &4 was a labor for money, short-cutting any corner they could and not giving a damn about real life. Sims 1 was a labor of exploration of computer boundaries. It led the path for the sims 2 - the best sims game. Period.
oi piss off sims 3 actually has decent expansions that add a shit ton of stuff and gameplay so its not exactly "cutting any corners". its sims 4 being a total cash grab
@@EmoPrincesses9000 Well, I apologize for my understatement regarding sims 3. It;s just my humble opinion. If you think that sims 3 was great too, then hooray! But for me personally the sims 2 is the only sims that holds truly in my heart as the best sims game of all time
This video is basically why I'm so disappointed in Sims 4. While Sims 2 had soooo many amazing little details like this, what Sims 3 lacked in detail they compensated with content and gameplay. Sims 3 was fun because there was sooo much to do that we hadn't seen in previous Sims games. Sims 4 lacks EVERYTHING -- detail, content, gameplay... I could go on. If there was no such thing as CC and modders, I wouldn't give the Sims 4 a second of my time. The only aspect of Sims 4 that EA got right was the drag & slide customization in CAS and the new, easier build mode. I prefer the original Sims over Sims 4, and THAT'S saying something. Thanks to greed, Sims 4 has become a cash grab above everything else. What once was a franchise bred from the love of the simulation genre, has become a robotic, heartless game that (tbh) can barely be called that now. Will Wright, I'm so sorry.
That's what I'm thinking. Sims 3 at least has a open world, where you can watch Sim townies do day to day stuff like picnicking, fighting in public, going to the movies, restaurant, spa, chilling on a park bench, running out of a burning house, woohooing in public if you have Kinky World. The open world concept makes up the lack of quirkiness that Sims 2 had. Sims 4 is seriously scaled down.
Lesa i‘m actually mad at myself for spending so much Money on Sims 4 expansions. I just hoped the gameplay would get better if i owned a lot of them. It didn‘t. I barely play it anymore. But on the other hand i bought every Sims 2 expansion for like 20 bucks a month ago and i enjoy it so much More than the Sims 4. graphics srsly dont matter if the detail and gameplay is on Point!
Lesa I completely agree with you. I was so disappointed in sims 4. I hated it. My husband loves it though. He thinks that me, a self proclaimed lover of the sims franchise, should accept and love every Sim game no matter the graphics and mechanics in the game. Will getting kicked out, poor game play, poor mechanics... I just don't know if I can continue supporting the game after their failure on the sims 4. I know I shouldn't be judgy but if I'm not wrong, sims 5 will continue in the same direction as sims 4. I don't know, the style in sims 4 just rubs me the wrong way. Will Pls come back :(
@@Awkward_Chair I'm all about complaining about Sims 4 tbh but that's a damn lie, Sims 4 CAS is the best of the whole franchise, I have never made two Sims who actually look alike and I've been playing since 2014
When I had elder parents visit their grown children they would wait at the front door with open arms for them to come give them a hug. Also I remember the doll house being haunted and the little figurines would fly
No need for moodlets that has a description on how the sims are feeling, with the animations and the little details you could try to figure out how theyre doing. and if you cant, isnt that a lot more realistic that you dont actually FULLY know whats on their mind.
0:49 I love that animation. Got seriously disappointed on sims 4 when couples would go to bed but would not snuggle or do anything else. 05:07 that fourth wall breaking is creepy.
This game is so incredible! Yes it's older, and some aspects aren't as great such as CAS and Buildmode, but the gameplay itself is so detailed, I love it! We need these things in the sims 5!!

Little details like these can be easily overlooked, but in hindsight, they're the one that makes the most impression to everyone. It makes the game grounded and real, even with all it's limitations. And, omg, so many of them are just very heartwarming. Gotta love the child-parent interactions 💚
Kudos for finding these little details (I'm sure there are more!) and reminded me how awesome this game is 👍
I really hope it’s implemented in sims 5
I cant agree more.
The sims 2 was created with love and appreciation for the fans that bought the first Sims franchise.
Well Wright cared, and Maxis tried their best. EA? NOPE.
It's truth and The sims 2 was created by happy and sensible persons.
Sims 4 seems like a regression,as if sims 3 was his sequel
@@LucyAdroit its EA what did you expect
The Sims 2 was so incredibly detailed, it's actually amazing. we could only dream about kids greeting their parents when they come home in The Sims 4. and couples cuddling in bed was so cute!
i also miss babies you could actually interact with, the changing table, kids throwing a tantrum and shaking the bars of their crib, robbers, police
the sims 4 could be so much better if they put a little more time into it
I waited until December 2018 to get the Sims 4.
I remember the cuddle interaction in Sims 3 though
It may surprise you, but in the sims 4 Cats greet their guardians when they come back from work (if they have a good relationship), (and I think i saw childrens doing it too, but i can't remember it very well)
You forgot one where if a bathtub upstairs gets broke, the ceiling downstairs will drip water from where the bathtub is placed upstairs.
Oh my god that sounds amazing! Thanks for letting me know. Wish I could add that in the video at this point
Edit: apparently it can also happened in both Sims 3 and Sims 4 -_-
If I'm not wrong, if a sim with low hygiene sits on a chair the chair will be stinky for a few seconds
Omg never heared of that! And never realised it
If a sim died, his/her closest friends and relatives would inherit money.
Wait... That does not happen in Sims 4?
@@Seff2 no death seems bugged in sims4. Sometimes you don't even get the sims urn. There's no graveyard or anything. The house goes up for sale etc.
You can use they.

It’s things like this that made the sims feel more human. Sims 4 has an entire emotion system and the sims still feel like robots
I was agreeing with this completely but then you said “feel more human” and I remembered on how you can grill a baby in this game.
@WasabiLover yeah I agree. So much attention to Sims who only have three character traits
I'm a gay political man and I can tell you that I get bullied by more people who like Sims 4 than the other sims games.
I dunno Connor, I love both.
@@Deanhughes5707.... you're the only one bringing politics into it man. i like all sims games. they each bring different things to the table tbh.
I would never refer to these things as "fun little details". These are all things that bring the game to life, and the sims 4 is lacking them.

Lots of intregal parts of the game are missing from TS4
actually i would love if they added the fact that you don't have infinite food in the sims 4.
the character designs are good its just if they had all of these characteristics and stuff thats older would be wa better
Things I like ab sims 2: gameplay. Drama. A more “alive” world
Things I like about sims 4: uh,,,, create a sim? That’s all I play with honestly.
Strawberry Jam sameee, I only use cas but without cc base game clothing is awful!
And it’s current build mode, but nothing more sadly
If it weren’t for the mods, I wouldn’t be playing the sims 4.
Same, I basically only play Sims 4 to create sims these days and when I do play the game, it's usually to test out a new or updated mod. Seriously, if it weren't for CC creators and CAS, Sims 4 would be unplayable.
i only play the sims 4 to make ugly sims and have them woohoo with everyone in the game
That awkward moment when you were 12 and your sims had woohoo for the first time and the screen would show up and you couldn’t skip it and that exact second your parents would walk into the room👀

@@RexPhalange mine worked great even with some mods.
In sims 2, you could also enroll your kids in a private school when they had good grades. To get there you had to invite the principle and impress him with a good meal and showing him that your family had good manners. I found it so much fun!
omg, I totally forgot about that!
omg yess hahaha
This was my fav part of the game. I had a poor family and couldn’t impress the headmaster so my kid didn’t get into private school. The whole house was depressed.
Or you could just sleep with the principal
Omg I did this often !
You forgot details like :
- In sims 2 every sim carries dominant genes (the one they show), and recessive genes (that are not visible, but it's possible for them to appear in later generation).
-Shy Sims sometimes wring their hands and look anxious. They are fearful about diving into pools and will often back off the diving board after getting on it. Also when being admired, a shy sim will act very timid.
- On the other hand outgoing sim while being admired Will act confident
-sloppy Sims eat messily, and they flatulate more often.
-A sim who grew up well will live longer than a sim who grow up badly.
-A Romance Sim instructed to do a "Romantic" social on another Sim will do the swag walk as he/she walks over to him/her.
Thanks for the comment! Never knew some of these
Oh yes, the beloved swag walk, LOL. What's impressive is that the Sims 2 team even went through the effort of creating a different flirty walk style for males and females, and they walk down the stairs as if they're happy too.
driving into a pool lol, I had to stop and reread it
potts995 In TS4 female and male sims act differently from each other when flirty, but personally I would like if we could choose the sims’ body language (like we can choose their walk style) so that it’s not dependent on their sex.
Ah yes, the SwAgGeR
I wonder if it's because EA has just stopped caring about the little things.
Cuz they already rich lol
They redirected their attention away from details and towards bigger features. Depending on who you are, that’s either an improvement or it’s really disappointing. I personally don’t care
If you say the word "Fun details" to an EA executive, they think of large set pieces with elaborate animations, like a sim getting comically crushed by a murphy bed. In reality, it is these little "blink and you miss it" animation details that sims with different personalities have when doing relatively mundane things. I'd much rather have the latter than the former.
It's EA (Electronic Assholes) they just half ass it... it's definitely shown in Sims 4
They care about the big thing now. Money. Lol
Ea was like: “you want better graphics? Okay you’re gonna get boring gameplay”
S2 graphics arent that bad😟
Too busy upgrading the graphics, dont have time to write codes to this realistic stuffs
The graphics have hardly advanced too
That makes sense now... sims 3 and on and I’ve just been bored when I used to be able to play for days on end. I know I’m getting older but glad to know it’s not just me.
Sims 2 graphics and the look of the sims are better than Sims 3 IMO

But its mostly not realistic. Most kids are getting taller than their adults.
@@someone96741 it is realistic 😐
@@jess6882 no
@@caitlynm6202 right because teenagers definitely stop growing taller into adulthood and instead become shorter by the time they reach adulthood.
Oh my god! I played the Sims 2 a lot when I was super young and I completely forgot about those until now! I loved them so much

What about when the sim uses the telescope during the day and then the neighbor comes to yell at them because they got caught spying!
Some people stated that they can do that as well in Sims 3. That's why I didn't include it
@Drain Cleaner i hope so! I havent seen it! Hmm i need to use the one in sims 4 more but it is just so huge ugh

Sims may wind the clock autonomously, but will usually need to be directed to wind it by the player.
all the analogic clocks in the sims 1/2 are functional not just the grandfather clock... only the digital ones don't work....... analogic clocks also work on the sims 3 (but not all of then)
Yeash!! I want to have back the functional Grandfather clock in sims 4! I miss it xD
Also, there's an option to maintain it, but if the sim has low mechanical skill it will break!!!
Also the longer you keep the grandfather clock alive, the more money it will cost to resell it over time!
Of all the games, this one has the most charm to me just because the Sims are so reactive and the world reacts to them as well, it just feels like the most organic out of the games. I've heard about the TV falling but it never happened to me so it was cool to see it in action, thank you!

I loved this, even though I played the sims 2 for years I didn’t notice some of them. You might have missed a few, I don’t know if they occur in 3 or 4:
- Lazy/untidy sims will sometimes fart when they’re alone, proceed to sniff the air and chuckle
- they will also eat in a more illmannered way, for example when they’re eating cereal, they will chew with their mouth open and spill the milk
- in the Four seasons extension, sims who walk in the snow without warm winterclothes might freeze solid, fall over and remain there until somebody eventually comes around and heats them up with a hair dryer. They will be fine but keep a very pale skin color for a while after this
- there’s one item of decor, a plastic flamingo, which a sim can kick over in order to offend the house owner. They will acknowledge this and be mad.
I loved these details, do they exist in the following games as well?
the only one i can think of is the flamingo one in the sims 3
When sims actually had to buy clothes and groceries! Definitely make a part 2!
I was going to comment this and the option to try things on! and going to the night club and the intention to scan the room to see who my sim thought was attractive! I miss that stuff
And the sims could woohoo in the dressing rooms
The Sims 3 has that too
Yes!!
I've got another one: If a Sims is sleeping in a bed and another Sims is using a telephone right next to the sleeping Sims, the sleeping Sims will sit up in the bed and get anoyed at the other sims.
Also you need to buy your own clothes! Sims 3 and 4 you already got everything. So I feel like working and getting money a bit more useless.
I had a sim walking in while the other was sleeping. He always did gun finger at her which makes she got up and annoyed as hell.

The level of detail, like c'mon EA. Stop being so goddamn greedy and lazy
What I also like is that when a sim is pregnant, she can't clean the cat litter. Which is very realistic, because of toxoplasmosis
Yessss :D But Sims 3 also has that^^
I don't own ts4 cats & dogs, is that not a thing in ts4?
I had no idea of this, now I wanna hop into my game and see if its true xD

Funny, but in Red Dead: Redemption 2 there is more life than in Sims 4

People make worlds all the time in sims 3. To build your own town, you need to download the external Create a World Tool (which has been in beta ever since its release and is likely never going to get any updates ever again).
The "issue" is that sims 3 is a bit more realistic and the worlds require much more skill and work to be considered decent.
I also remember Sims being able to have unrequited crushes. In Sims 4 crushes are always mutual... not realistic.
oh yeah, I forgot about that! also it's hard to seduce certain people in Sims 2,in Sims 4 you can break up every couple if you try hard enough
Yaeh, you're right. One Sim could love another sim, but not vice versa. That made interesting constellations.. Forgot about that, thank you.
Yep and sometimes Sims left other Sims at the altar. They got all nervous and made a run for it - and everyone at the wedding then had a negative buff for the person who ran.

الإسلام هو تحفة الشيطان Never happened in The Sims 1, happened several times in The Sims 2. The Sims 1 wasn't advanced enough to program this in.
I remember. I always thought this was so sweet of them. 🥺
Sims 2 was technically the first "serious" Sims Game, since Sims 1 was too limited and pretty much was comedic more than life simulation, they needed to get people, today they're lazy af cuz' they already have people that buys everything they made even if good or not.
The sims is a spin off from the SimCity but their relevancy overshadowed the main games.
Been replaying Sims 2 and it's always so much fun. Especially running a home business, so darn addictive. The pizza flopping is legendary 😁
WE NEED to share this video on twitter with the sims gurus. They need to see what we miss in sims 4. These tiny things make it feel so much better. Rn I just want to go back and play the sims 2 and I will. I wish the sims 4 would step into these steps a bit more. My hopes are slowly dying
Yes! We should start doing this

Only if you're in private school...
Metzli yes but you see, there’s no such thing as private or public school in the sims 3 or 4
They do that in Sim's 4
These were the little details that made me fall in love with the sims, it’s a shame they weren’t passed down to the sims 3 and 4.
I don't want Sims 5, I want Sims 2 Remastered!
They need to scrub the code of TS2 and use that as the foundation for TS5. I would buy fucking extra copies just for an updated TS2 2.0 experience
Unless they put will be loving Sims 2 back in it's Sims 5
I would buy that.
And in sims 4 the parents and kids are basically strangers with such a low relationship by the time the kid grows up to be a young adult.
@@sweetpjeb23 parenthood?
And there were police, firefighters and thieves, as well as the racoon! 😂
I also loved that the teenagers could ask for permission to go party and if the parents said no they could try to sneak out (they could succeed, get caught by the parents or brought home by the police), that the sims could lose their minds and that if two sims were angry at each other the anger lasted a lot (not like the sims 4 that you can be arguing and the next second kissing).

@@cm69420 yes
the fire rumor is fake, they had to change/remove features since it was the early 2000s and most didnt have very good computerrs
"There's no denying that The Sims 2 has some of the most unique and realistic small details than Sims 3 or Sims 4" *PERIODT!!*
one thing of the older sims version that i like is relationship level may not be the same for both parties. like A may think of B as 100, but B thinks of A as only 50. so many weird and awesome situations could happen from this...

Something I noticed while playing The Sims 2 yesterday - whenever you compliment shy sims they get all embarrassed and do sort of a 👉🏻👈🏻 thing. I thought it was really cute.
yes, I also have a shy sim female like that....it's so adorable to watch !
God I miss that so much!
the sims 2 was a masterpiece, simple as

@noodluvna Agreed,Sims 4 has no effort in all seriousness.

@@EmoPrincesses9000 Well, I apologize for my understatement regarding sims 3. It;s just my humble opinion. If you think that sims 3 was great too, then hooray! But for me personally the sims 2 is the only sims that holds truly in my heart as the best sims game of all time
The sims 2 will always be amazing, The sims 3 and 4 were such disappointments 😭
Sims 4 cas sucks, all the sims look the same
That's what I'm thinking.
It's also a really neat detail how cheaper cars tend to be lighter and have more lax springs. Which makes them rock a lot more.

No need for moodlets that has a description on how the sims are feeling, with the animations and the little details you could try to figure out how theyre doing. and if you cant, isnt that a lot more realistic that you dont actually FULLY know whats on their mind.
