Yea, I really loved that they had hair and water physics, along with lighting for things like opening the fridge, tv, and fireflies it's quite sad ts3 and 4 lack these great little details...
i think the little details like for example, being able to see cables and stuff on the back of appliances, are what make the sims 2 feel more like a life simulator instead of like a really expensive dollhouse
Awesomely insane! All of those little details make the game fun even when there isn't a lot happening. The quirky actions of the various sims are so entertaining. Why they removed all of those details for later games, I can't imagine. The videos of TS4 just annoy me. I won't even bother with that one.
me too! I had no idea about the one sided relationship, but now I understand why I loved the relationship building in TS2 and hated it on the others. it's the only one that is hard, but rewarding. TS3 is too hard and doesn't feel worthwhile, and TS4 is ridiculously easy
Absolutely not, Will Wright didn't even actually work on Sims 2, and the game he's currently working on runs on nfts and blockchain, and seemingly will have microtransactions I don't want Will Wright to touch the sims series ever again
Yes, with a few other little things. I'd like to see sims gain traits such as in TS3, added to, not replacing, the personality points. CASt is a must, and open world. Along with raking leaves, weeding, and trimming shrubs, I want to have sims able to mow the lawn and shovel snow. Bring back real shopping and restaurants, and don't give everyone a blasted cell phone. Let the players decide, as we could in TS2! Real vacations, along with adventure spots, and real apartment lots! Always bugged me that they took so much away. That's a game I'd buy, assuming they didn't go money-mad as we've seen lately. Things like all life stages, weather, pools, and pets should be base game.

@@brennatippmann714 youre correct. But, its still a broken game. And people remaining silent about ts3 bugs and still filling EA's pocket with money, by supporting the store and other broken packs back then, is what really allowed EA to go even further with this. After all, ts4 is the best selling generation of the sims so far and its not the investors who are buying the game. Its us
Sims 4 team at some point were staying overnight and doing unpaid hours on a regular basis. Just to give players a bit more EA was willing to spend on. Maybe they still do, I just don't follow Sims 4 anymore now. But it is made with love and it shows. It was also terribly underfunded from the start and it shows also.
I totally agree, it makes gameplay so much more realistic and rich. I wish they could make this work in TS4. If there's a mod out there people like please share lol
I forgive TS3 for many of it's flaws because it did so many things right and improved on a lot of areas so massively. I love TS2 but there were *_many_* things about it I just did not care for.
@@WC3fanatic997 Yeah! Also, The Sims 3 is such a demanding game that has a lot of really complicated stuff like big open worlds (in which ALL of the npcs and households are functioning with its own AI simultaneously in the background at all times), fully customizable objects and clothing, etcetera. so they really had no option other than to nuke some details so the game could at least run in the first place lol I can understand them being forced to sacrifice those details, specially because it is a very innovative game, specially for its time. They really tried something bigger. When it comes to the sims 4, though, there really is no excuse. It is just soulless.
@@menoguchi I feel like they pushed the open world thing and spent so much time and effort on it because it was catchy, thinking everyone will go crazy for it, that they didn't think about much else and the game suffered as a result. Whereas the Sims 2 had a clear outline and people were allowed to just go ham on the design. Like, Sims 3 they were trying too hard to make it visually impressive and focused on putting keywords like "open world" into action and didn't take much of a look at what made the first 2 Sims games so beloved. They just focused on crunching out very specific content and it was a bunch of 9 to 5 drones working to feed their families rather than their imagination. You get the impression that they wanted the open world thing so much they didn't care about the cost and accessibility or user interaction really, since while the Sims games have always been very demanding, Sims 3 was by far the most egregiously demanding hardware-wise for its time. They just focused on giving specific and precise amounts of content to keep your computer from blowing up and these touches were lost as a consequence. Because you can list the number of chairs in one of those promotional pictures, but not show the 12 little animations you've had to sacrifice. Sims 3 always felt like it was trying to show off and didn't focus on anything it couldn't advertise in a screenshot, whereas Sims 2 flourished in its mystery. You got a few pictures but they were advertising interactions more than anything and not just the new range of clothes and furniture. It was all new gameplay, not all new skins.
To be honest, I have seen the console interaction play out without cheats was when a child witnessed their parents fighting and ran to another room. One of the parents after the fight went to the room to console the child. Though not all children will cry. Some will throw a tantrum instead. Children also react to affairs.
in pc version, teens, who discovered an affair, will have a disgusted\hatred face towards their parents in the loading screen of the family for example. to say how much the sims 2 was super cared in any details. and even if i don't mind many things of the sims 3 and 4...the sims 2 was the best hands down 😅😅.
Yesterday, my Sim interacted with a neighbor she just met, and her kid just started crying randomly, causing my Sim to console her. I still haven't figure out what triggered that.
Dont worry about not always posting, keep your focus on school, we are more than happy to see a video every once in a while but only if you take it easy ❤️
Sims 2: Same social interaction, different animations based on personality Sims 4: Different social interaction, same animations, just the change in speech bubble.
The Sims 4 has such a bloated social interaction menu that when you need to find a specific one it takes ages. The Sims 2 was by no means limited but it was so much more concise. You can just start up a chat and pick the subject later if you want to, you didn't have to pick through 50 chat options straight off the bat. And it was heavily affected by interests and personality. With this, the interactions affect your mood and personality. Or rather your skills, since being an asshole is a skill now.
I will add that as the bus driver waves to the kids, the kids will also wave at the driver when getting off the bus. 166. Trick moves also apply to other instruments as well. Drummers can throw the sticks in the air and catch it. 172: "Cheer Up" also included in Sims 2 when the Sim has a low mood. 176. Sims can also juggle bottles from the Fridge! Coffee machine are mugs while Espresso Machines cups (different objects but still similar use) The kitchen is basically a playground for jugglers. 179: Just how many different variations of interactions they have with only ONE object? One duck lower, the other lift themselves up on the handles. So fun!
I can tell sims 1 and sims 2 developers probably had the same people, the way they put such intimate expression & emotion details are Top tier! I guess the way sims in s2 move so fluid adds so much connection to my brain, how the camera moves and zooming is also very different it aint so rigid, ah now i feel like playing sims 2 again
The Sims 2 was truly a masterpiece. I miss being this excited for a game as I was until TS3. TS4 just doesn't do it anymore for me, it feels empty. It's actually sad because I grew up with this franchise and still wish to love it. On a side note, congratulations on your studies! 🥰
I've returned to Sims 2 since Batoo came out. It's a bit of work... Well, a lot of work to install and fix it, but it's totally possible to play Sims 2 in 2022. I enjoy it a lot.
@@leaselmary_sims2189 couldn't agree more! I renovated my TS2 completely through CC (mostly default replacements) and mods, just to make the game feel more updated and fit my current taste. @@leaselmary_sims2189 Definitely! I installed via disc, not stupid Origin, added in a LOT of custom content, mostly for finishing and recoloring furniture sets, but some just cool stuff, and even though I've had it for ages, there are still so many things I haven't fully explored.
This made me realize how much important details they took away from the game in sims 4. Like, man, actually compatible animations and one sided relationship gain. Theyre awesome :(
Also dont worry about your posting schedule. Honestly being a med student and a content creator at the same time is already mind boggling to me. Good luck with ur studies
I used the one-sided relationship system to make someone have on a crush on someone who only saw them as a friend. Was fun for recreating characters. I made Akane and Ryoga from Ranma 1/2 like that.
The only bad part about it, the ones with a crush accused the other with cheating when they saw romantic interactions from them with another sim. AND the Sim without a crush gets a negative cheating memory aswell ._. that bothered me always and i would delete this memorys in SimPE haha
What interactions did you do to make that happen? I would love to make one sided crushes for my gameplay but I still haven’t figured how to do it intentionally
@@WangKongBeans nudge, the one where they rubs their first into the other's head. If you do it about 10 times, flirt a bit, 10 times, flirt a bit, then the nudger will get a crush while the other hates their guts, then you do some friendly and the nudged will think of them as friends while the other has a strong crush.
3:18 In Sims 4, what's the point of having unflirty Sims if they can just flirt the exact same way normal Sims do? I feel like the only noticeable difference is the pie menu has slightly different text, but just the same old animations. I miss the attention to detail! Sims 2 really was the goat 🐐
What’s annoying about the sims 4 is that the teams relies too much on the emotion system. Oh your unflirty sim flirted with someone? Now they’re uncomfortable. But it doesn’t SHOW that, just a little pop up. I hope they do away with that in the 5th installment
12:35 Adding to this: If your teen asks for permission to go out, their friend will arrive in a clean, middle-class car, but if they sneak out, the car is the cheapest one in the game. edit: got it wrong, sorry. it depends more on who you're sneaking out with
I think it varies depending on the Sim's friend's economic status. Don't quote me on this I'm not too sure. So it's ranging from a janky car to the sedan or even a sports car.
Aside from sitting in a different pose than adults, I also noticed that the cushion doesn't sink as low for children as it does for adults. In the comparison video I noticed that doesn't happen in 3 and 4.
5:50 and if you forget the insects in the jar, they die after one or two days... 😁 8:31 I cried 😂😂😂 11:09 I hate when my Sims do this. I am searching for the phone sooo often!!! 😑 And they also manage to loose the controllers of their gaming station thingy. Also a thing they ONLY do in Sims 2. 😐 I never find them, so I have to buy a new one. You can also accidentally grab them in Buy Mode (I think with move objects on. Not sure.)
Only big problem of the sims 2,was the highly corruption chances, but for the rest, stays the best the sims game in my opinion, the care for tiny details was clear, and all love for the project was seen, something ea should refresh more often honestly. 😥
@@LaiyaUnscripted if you haven't yet, mod the sims has a bunch of stuff available to help you get the cleanest install possible and minimize corruption for as long as you can. It's been a while since I've looked into it, so idr what exactly, but I'm pretty sure there's a clean(est) neighborhood install that fixes as much of the corruption that ships with the game as possible, as well as tools to try and clean up your existing neighborhoods as well. I think user Moolissa(?) put most of it out
Corruption isn't half as much of an issue int he game as people think it is. They assume every bug and glitch is corruption and that it makes the game unplayable when 99% of the time that isn't even the case.
@@vanyadolly Exactly this. The game as it is runs fine, you just have to be careful to not do certain things to avoid actual, legitimate corruption. The two biggest examples I can think of right now are not interacting with Mrs. Crumplebottom other than in ways you're intended to (so don't go trying to add her to your household for example) as this can lead to corruption and not deleting Sims from a neighborhood once they've lived there as the game doesn't properly delete them and then you're left with this spreading corruption if Sims end up talking about that deleted Sim which can entirely trash your game. Other than those two I believe it's generally safe.
I really hope whenever TS5 releases, they add back lighting for things like tvs and fireflies, water and hair physics, with the addition of clothes physics.. I really hope they look back at these little details in their older sims games! I doubt they'd do any of that though..
These are some other fun features The Sims 4 greatly needs, but the Gurus are too focused on spamming out garbage Kits and Game Packs and badly coded and bug breaking patches.
@@frichickenishabrown6344 POC and LGBT people exist, people wanting decent representation options in a life sims isn't "propaganda". Implementation, now that's something we can talk about. Maxis can have all the talent in the world if the ones calling the shots above them are still incompetent. Granted, there are plenty SMH moments from the team, but they work with very little (regarding funding, time, team size, crappy Olympus engine), and again, it's pretty hard to tell what was genuinely their best, bad attempt at a feature, and what is something they were flat-out told to half-ass because EA wants maximum profits for negligible monetary investments :')
6:20 There also exists a "Cheer Up" interaction in the Sims 2 that is possible when the other sim is in red mood. But that one you can do without them crying. And as you said, the "Console" only works when the other sim is crying. I love the Detail with the Crying Sims and how others can Console them without Interrupting the animation, I think I saw it once when a NPC was Crying and another NPC actually used Console on them. now I don't know if it was due to any mods I had back when I saw it first. but it COULD be a Default Behaviour but I do not know if it is. but I certainly know that the Player can Direct it
I do feel the devs behind sims 2 had more time than ever to focus on adding the little details, jamming music, more options what to do than sims 4. I feel sims 2 has that extra love for it that it become the best one, same for sims 3. I personally feel sims 4 is a cash grab with lacking details and ideas, making stuff packs over things that should have been included in the base game.
The doom of sims 4 is that it was made first as an online game, which means less competent and expensive devs worked on it, a majority of juniors and mid devs worked on it, because it was online :P
About differences between relationships levels for each Sims, I tried a few months ago to kill Guillermo in the Sims 2 (because he was rude with my boyfriend) from starving him to death after inviting him as a friend. I didn't remember we couldn't kill Sims that are not our housemates so I had to release him. And my Sim was still his friend in her relationship while Guillermo was starting to hate her. I guess Sims in The Sims 2 are aware when their neighbours try to kill them lol

I can't believe how many of these details I had no clue of... I've played this game for so many years!! And every time I play it I love to pay attention to the details, BUT STILL- so many new things I had no clue about, it's crazy! I love this game sooooo much 😭❤️
It makes so sense to pronounce “Live Mode” like the expression “live your life,” but I always said it in my head as “LIVE mode” like a live studio audience
I love how you used Belladonna Cove for this video! Belladonna Cove was my first neighborhood when I replay the Sims 2 as an adult and it is sadly quite under-appreciated for not being the classics. But playing it was a whole lot fun and Carlos Contender till today became the oldest Sim I’ve ever played, living up to 101 days 😂
Congratulations for the rotations! We know finding all those details and recording them requires a lot of work and time you don't always have. What's your opinion about CrazyMarq? Have you seen his videos?
damn the one sided relationship is GOLD, i mean is realistic we never really know how people perceive us, that definitely need to comeback in the sims 5
YAY YOU'RE BACK!!! and with another amazingly well done video ^^ and i came back once again to say that The Sims 2 is the best out of all the other sims game u-u
I’m glad this video made me finally realize what’s so endearing about sims 2 and 3 and it’s that sim traits actually matter. In sims 4 not only are there few traits to choose from and even fewer slots for them (only three???? Who only has three personality traits?) but they only affect gameplay when the sim is in your household. Unless a sim has a trait like hot headed or erratic, you’d never be able to tell if you aren’t playing them. Even sims with the evil trait hardly ever do anything evil except laugh when other people die. The only time most traits factor into gameplay is in terms of their wants and what moodlets they’re likely to randomly have (active sims are randomly energized, gloomy sims randomly sad and more likely to get that mood, etc) I’ve never ONCE seen a kleptomaniac sim steal autonomously. They only do it if you play them and you make them do it. In fact nobody does anything in the sims autonomously except care for their needs usually in a bizarre way (like napping in your kids bed instead of sleeping in your own even though it’s 10 pm and your own bed was closer) And, wow, I think I just realized the root of the problem with sims 4 and it’s that no sims are truly unique in their personality. When I create a sims world, I like to sort of populate it with characters. The base sims don’t do it for me, and it’s especially fun if I’m doing a world with a theme (for example, my Harry Potter save file where every single character who’s alive by the end of the last book is in the world and even some of the dead ones are there as ghosts) and obviously I want those sims to have their own personalities, that way I can just sit back and see how they interact with each other. Oh look at that, Luna love good is a lesbian and married Ginny Weasley of her own accord. Stuff like that. But sims 4 isn’t made for people who play like me, it’s made for people who want to act out a story in a sense. It’s made for people who want to control all of their sims actions and develop their “personality” that way. “Oh this is my sim James, he loves getting in fights.” No, actually you just tell him to fight people all the time. He wouldn’t do that on his own because none of them do that. And that’s a fine way to play don’t get me wrong. I play that way very often. But that’s not the only way to play, and it’s sad that they sort of just half-assed integrating traits into gameplay just because they assumed people wanted every sim to be homogenous and some sort of blank slate. Seeing the shy sims way of interacting made me so sad because I want that so badly, but I want it with the functionality of sims 4 so I don’t have to pirate it and then make sure I run it on compatibility mode every time I play just for it to crash half the time anyway.
The last detail (the one where teens cant go out past their curfew) is sooooo smart to me. Doesnt make any sense at all that i can stay out until 4 am with my kid and teen sims while their parents are peacefully sleeping back home 🙄 Sims 2 was really all about personality and emotion
These videos really demonstrates why sims 2 just feels much better. Gossip-feature is also interesting. They will describe recent events. They might prefer gossiping about fights, jealousy reactions, death, etc. Whatever made the strongest impression recently. (I don't know if sims 3 has this feature)
Didn't know you're a med student! My partner's one and they're about to do their UKMPPD, so I pretty much understand how exhausting and draining it is to be one lol. Many good lucks to you!!

i dont know if these are mentioned anywhere, i havent seen it mentioned so i wanna add it here! snowball fights are more difficult against high body skill sims. they will be better at dodging and landing hits. to add on top, if a sim gets hit by a snowball, or their opponent dodges theirs, their fun meter goes down. i had to learn this the hard way, when my not so athletic sim was having a snowball fight with the mascot in the university. his fun went from mid way to desperately low, as he was being pelted with snowballs by the mascot and couldnt get revenge the mascot, on the other hand, who had just sat for a few hours researching and probably had a low fun meter to begin with, was now happily going inside to do an assignment and a minor detail, i dont know if its tied to a sims nice meter. everyone audibly reacts with disgust to smelly objects, but when its smelly sims, they react in silence instead. making "no thanks" handwaving and cringing in their posture, but not making any audible "bladr", probably to be nice. i think a lot of social interactions have been made in mind with: how would a nice sim react, and how would a mean one react? how something like the "punch u - punch me" game probably got made, because everyone can imagine how a mean sim would go about that... punching too hard, eventually
I have and played TS1, TS2, TS3 and TS4. Although i liked the open world of TS3 ... (but soo laggy.....). The best for me is the sims 2... everytime I play I found something new. Something thar I really miss from sims 1... is the food trucks (icecream, hotdogs, etc). Also in terms of expansions... I never understand why sims super star from TS1 was never a thing that was re used in the other games. I LOVED the sims 1 sim studio and it was soo hard to achieve 5 star... (without cheats). Also the snowboard thing of sims 1 bonvoaye was something that was never reused. I would love to be able to ski or snowboard on sims 2. The apartment life, open for busines, seasons, hobbies, and holidays exp of sims 2 are amazing, and "were lost" in sims 3 and 4....
And this is how you make a simulation game! I love sims 2, I recently redownloaded...and though I love the graphics and the general quality of the sims 4, I keep return in sims 2.......I wish sims 4 had the same depth in characters and lore...!!!
With Bon Voyage, if you make a friend on vacation, you can invite them to stay as a houseguest for three days when you get home. I also always loved filling the vacation mementos in the memories panel. They're like little secret experiences your sim can collect on vacation. There are 45 to collect, and you go from bumbling tourist to savvy traveller.

Great to have you back, Abi. Also, you still have to made the last The Sims 3 Life States video about Imaginary Friends. You also made one about mummies, so it’s not really fair if you don’t make one about the Imaginary Friend.
Theres another detail, though i am not sure if its exclusiv to The Sims 2. When 2 sims with atleast a romantic relationship (In love) weak up next to each other in a double bed, one sim holds the other in his/ her arms and strokes the head of their lover (who is not fully awake). They even give their lover a gentle kiss on his/ her forehead. I love this detail, because it looks so sweet and hearthwarming 🥰
Congrats again with your work. And as always, thank you for the video. They are always so shocking to watch. Shocking because of how much detail EA slowly took away from the game over the years. I have absolutely no idea what to expect if we get a Sims 5. Will it be a return to this (all the details we see in your video) or an even more watered down game than TS4. Is that even possible. LOL Have a great day.
I feel like EA peaked in games mid 2000s, The Sims 2, SSX 3, Need for Speed, Fight Night, Burnout 3, Def Jam, Battlefield, The Godfather, Rockband, Skate, so many great and memorable games. I feel like after The Sims 3 came out, it all EA games started to go downhill.

@@brennatippmann714 youre correct. But, its still a broken game. And people remaining silent about ts3 bugs and still filling EA's pocket with money, by supporting the store and other broken packs back then, is what really allowed EA to go even further with this.
Im not blaming simmers for EA being the shitty company it is, but we have a big share of the blame bout why the sims 4 is on this pitiful state rn.
I wish one-sided relationships were available in TS4! One of my favorite parts of TS2
Y was so fun when you had a super crush and the other just didn’t. I think crushes where the best thing in sims2 in general.
Loved that
I totally agree, it makes gameplay so much more realistic and rich. I wish they could make this work in TS4. If there's a mod out there people like please share lol
@@SarahMarinello Same! If anyone knows a mod please let us know
Yesss! It actually added some challenge to social interactions! The amount of times my Sims were blindsided by rejections is insane but I loved it😂💗
Congratulations on getting your rotation placement! Hope you are doing well and staying safe!
We can all agree that sims 2 was a HUGE passion project. As much as I love sims 3 it was still lacking in many ways
It was all new gameplay, not all new skins.
this series just makes me yearn for a sims 2 remaster. there’s so much depth and love put into this game
Modded Sims 2 with modern custom content is basically a remastered version of the game. The game is alive and kicking. I play it and you can too.
@@leaselmary_sims2189 thats cool I never got it running again on Windows 10...

Would love for TS2 to get the MELE treatment.
Why not just play Sims 2? :)
The sims 2 was so expressive. It’s a shame they didn’t continue that on into the franchise
Well, the videos from TS4 show a lot of "expression", but it's all totally annoying!
As someone who has never played The Sims 2, these videos amaze me every time! It really shows how The Sims 4 is lacking in so many areas...
The sims 2 is super expressive, there you actually feel the fun of playing games and not just ordering sims what to do 🤣
@@alyss4192 yup, it's why Sims 2 was so famous and had many different variations that are not extensions
The only thing I hated was that the time moves to fast and they grow up so quick
Do yourself a favor and play it
@@eduazy Well, I don't have it, and I don't feel like pirating it (even though I do feel like doing just that.. *sigh* 😩).
The Pleasant house is ideal to test this stuff, if anyone is interested
Yesterday, my Sim interacted with a neighbor she just met, and her kid just started crying randomly, causing my Sim to console her. I still haven't figure out what triggered that.
Dont worry about not always posting, keep your focus on school, we are more than happy to see a video every once in a while but only if you take it easy ❤️
Sims 2: Same social interaction, different animations based on personality
Sims 4: Different social interaction, same animations, just the change in speech bubble.
They even has animations for every each subject in the speech bubble in Sims 2.
@@Weaner69 they even react differently depending on their interests
@@Weaner69 i love when they talk about paranormal, the scared gestures and imitating ghosts are some of my absolute favorite animations
So fun!
There's like at least 4-5 animations in the spinny thing. A tonne of variety between the Sims.
It was a bit of work but totally worth it lol
Everything feels so organic, there's still so much stuff i have to explore! It's amazing how even though the game is old, you can still enjoy it
@@leaselmary_sims2189 Definitely!

I didn’t even really realize that the one sided relationships are missing! Now that I remember them, I’m sad they’re gone 💀 it would add so much fun
@@LPMisa yeah... But for some characters this was oddly fitting so it was a double edged sword..!
What interactions did you do to make that happen? I would love to make one sided crushes for my gameplay but I still haven’t figured how to do it intentionally

In Sims 4, what's the point of having unflirty Sims if they can just flirt the exact same way normal Sims do? I feel like the only noticeable difference is the pie menu has slightly different text, but just the same old animations. I miss the attention to detail! Sims 2 really was the goat 🐐
Exactly, there isn't anything different from "Angry Poop" than use the toilet regularly.
What’s annoying about the sims 4 is that the teams relies too much on the emotion system. Oh your unflirty sim flirted with someone? Now they’re uncomfortable. But it doesn’t SHOW that, just a little pop up. I hope they do away with that in the 5th installment
@@Katie-zj5sw im from the future, ea has confirmed there will be no sims 5, but hey, Paralives is coming soon.

Only big problem of the sims 2,was the highly corruption chances, but for the rest, stays the best the sims game in my opinion, the care for tiny details was clear, and all love for the project was seen, something ea should refresh more often honestly. 😥
the corruption is the only thing keeping me away ;(
@@LaiyaUnscripted if you haven't yet, mod the sims has a bunch of stuff available to help you get the cleanest install possible and minimize corruption for as long as you can. It's been a while since I've looked into it, so idr what exactly, but I'm pretty sure there's a clean(est) neighborhood install that fixes as much of the corruption that ships with the game as possible, as well as tools to try and clean up your existing neighborhoods as well. I think user Moolissa(?) put most of it out
@@RemyJustice97 thank you for this info! i’ll give it a shot
It's a hope but highly doubtful. EA just keeps getting greedier and greedier and pushing the devs more and more.
I played ts2 for the first time in ages this week. I love you can hear the fridge working when you get close to it.
These are some other fun features The Sims 4 greatly needs, but the Gurus are too focused on spamming out garbage Kits and Game Packs and badly coded and bug breaking patches.
Seriously dine out and wedding are really good at posters & ads 😌
*Cries in Wedding Story*
Maxis does what EA pays them to do on very tight deadlines, and the dev team is constantly getting smaller for Sims 4. Kits are outsourced.
They’re focusing on diversity bs and lgbt propaganda instead of hiring competent game designers
It feels like so much more love and attention was put into sims 2
So happy for you in your studies! Keep it up, we're always here for videos regardless of time

further proof that sims 2 is the superior game in little things that makes game moves fun
they also clean up ashes with a small broom in TS1, I would know as I constantly had to sweep the ashes of my appliances (and family members)
6:20 There also exists a "Cheer Up" interaction in the Sims 2 that is possible when the other sim is in red mood. But that one you can do without them crying. And as you said, the "Console" only works when the other sim is crying. (this isn't a correction comment, I just wanted to add this information because it makes the "Console" interaction even more notable.
I can’t believe an almost 20 years old game looks more fleshed out, detailed and unique that the Sims 4.
10:33 in sims 2, they can also walk around carrying the shopping bag, and depending the amount of items, the number of simoleons signs increases or decreases at it. That's why I love sims 2

You are the reason why I started playing Sims 2 again. These little detail videos made me realize how amazing Sims 2 is.
I love the Detail with the Crying Sims and how others can Console them without Interrupting the animation, I think I saw it once when a NPC was Crying and another NPC actually used Console on them. now I don't know if it was due to any mods I had back when I saw it first. but it COULD be a Default Behaviour but I do not know if it is. but I certainly know that the Player can Direct it
That crying and comforting animation got to me. I wish we had that level of detail in the Sims 4! 😔
She taps her fingers in impatience at 3:45, too!
The sims 2 is a work of art every detail💖that's what the sims 4 lacks. There are some details I didn't even know
The water effects in sims 2 clearly show that this game was ahead of its time and had to much love to it 😢❤
About differences between relationships levels for each Sims, I tried a few months ago to kill Guillermo in the Sims 2 (because he was rude with my boyfriend) from starving him to death after inviting him as a friend. I didn't remember we couldn't kill Sims that are not our housemates so I had to release him. And my Sim was still his friend in her relationship while Guillermo was starting to hate her. I guess Sims in The Sims 2 are aware when their neighbours try to kill them lol
Well, you can, but you have to use cheats. I think the Tombstone of Life and Death makes that possible. I had a jealous sim killed off that way.
You could but EA removed it a patch. There's a mod that restores it, it's called “Kill Viting Playables”

In fact nobody does anything in the sims autonomously except care for their needs usually in a bizarre way (like napping in your kids bed instead of sleeping in your own even though it’s 10 pm and your own bed was closer)
And, wow, I think I just realized the root of the problem with sims 4 and it’s that no sims are truly unique in their personality.
Doesnt make any sense at all that i can stay out until 4 am with my kid and teen sims while their parents are peacefully sleeping back home 🙄
Sims 2 was really all about personality and emotion
These videos really demonstrates why sims 2 just feels much better.
Gossip-feature is also interesting. They will describe recent events. They might prefer gossiping about fights, jealousy reactions, death, etc. Whatever made the strongest impression recently. (I don't know if sims 3 has this feature)

Please, stop trying to make me fall in love with The Sims 2 again and again 😂😂😂😂
i dont know if these are mentioned anywhere, i havent seen it mentioned so i wanna add it here!
snowball fights are more difficult against high body skill sims. they will be better at dodging and landing hits. to add on top, if a sim gets hit by a snowball, or their opponent dodges theirs, their fun meter goes down. i had to learn this the hard way, when my not so athletic sim was having a snowball fight with the mascot in the university. his fun went from mid way to desperately low, as he was being pelted with snowballs by the mascot and couldnt get revenge the mascot, on the other hand, who had just sat for a few hours researching and probably had a low fun meter to begin with, was now happily going inside to do an assignment
and a minor detail, i dont know if its tied to a sims nice meter. everyone audibly reacts with disgust to smelly objects, but when its smelly sims, they react in silence instead. making "no thanks" handwaving and cringing in their posture, but not making any audible "bladr", probably to be nice. i think a lot of social interactions have been made in mind with: how would a nice sim react, and how would a mean one react? how something like the "punch u - punch me" game probably got made, because everyone can imagine how a mean sim would go about that... punching too hard, eventually
The apartment life, open for busines, seasons, hobbies, and holidays exp of sims 2 are amazing, and "were lost" in sims 3 and 4....
just in time just downloaded sims 2 🤧 was a pain but so worth it
And this is how you make a simulation game! I love sims 2, I recently redownloaded...and though I love the graphics and the general quality of the sims 4, I keep return in sims 2.......I wish sims 4 had the same depth in characters and lore...!!!
Sims 2 had such personality. Hope it comes back in Sims 5, whenever that happens.
After 18 years of playing the Sims 2, I discover the existence of the "console interaction" :o 6:06

I just adore Sims 2! I’ve been playing since the very beginning at Sims 1 but by far Sims 2 has always been my favourite! The level of detail in this game is immense!
The depth of thought behind those details is so endearing! The Sims 2 was just superior. Periodt.
Thank you for loving TS2 as much as I do~
I've been playing the same neighborhood since 2010 ^^
Sims 2 with the activities/world of sims 3 and the building of sims 4 would be a perfect sims 5
Great to have you back, Abi. Also, you still have to made the last The Sims 3 Life States video about Imaginary Friends. You also made one about mummies, so it’s not really fair if you don’t make one about the Imaginary Friend.
I love these sims 2 fun details! Please make more
Hurray! You’re back!!
We missed you Abi
The diving into the restaurant booth was UNBELIEVABLE lmao I don’t know if I would have found that myself in a thousand years
Congrats again with your work.
I didn’t realise you could sew custom outfits! I will always love the sims 2, every now and then I find out new features thanks to this channel. As someone else said, this game was truly made with love compared to others.
Good to know you have been doing well abi
Don't worry about us too much and enjoy how far you have come since you first started RUclips
