Pro tip- Go into your bathroom, close the door, and turn on the hot water until it's steamy and the mirror starts to fog up. Turn off the water and then put the screen protector on. The steam will keep all the dust in the air from getting on the screen.
Very helpful Josh. Two things that I found in my installation. First, I found that the speaker protector tape was difficult to align with the phone in the Whitestone tray (maybe my deteriorating vision!). I ended up putting the tape on with the phone in my hand and then putting it in the tray. Second, I plugged in the UV light into my laptop and found that it would shutoff after about 30 seconds so I had to keep hitting the power button on the light. Not a big deal, just unexpected.

I just installed this again, after they sent me an warranty replacement. Thanks for the video, it works great no more air cushion feel like the previous one I brought from another brand. The fingerprint reader and swiping works so well, like its not there.

Have you ever tried the "wet room" approach to applying screen protectors? Apparently if you do this in a bathroom after running the hot tap for a while to get the room warmer and more moist then it's harder for dust motes to stay afloat due to the moisture, so you, supposedly, have less issues with dust possibly getting on the screen during application. Much more important considering the price of this protector I would think.
Yeah I do this lol. I hate it when I can see even a tiny tiny fleck of dust, so I stay in the bathroom and turn on the hot water until the room becomes steamy. I do multiple passes on the screen with the microfibre until I can't see any dust. Then I apply the screen protector and it never has an imperfection.

I did not install any Protector for my S10+ ; it was on my Lap and while getting out of the car ; it fall down to concrete ; even with a very low hight ; i got a Crack from side to Hole punch camera :(

Thank you for this video!! My first attempt didn't work out, the glue didn't spread the first time properly, I was an idiot about removing the protector and it broke. I didn't read the last area of instructions and could have reused the protector. I did contact Whitedome about it and didn't hear back in a reasonable amount of time, so I ordered the replacement kit. Today I finally put it on and it's nothing less than perfect! Seems like the glue wanted to spread better this time than the last. I'm going to wait till tomorrow to put my Sup case on it.

How is the screen protector around the edges ? the one I have doesn't really get all the way around the curved sides where dirt can build up.

But $ 50 is somehow expensive.
After all, you can order, for example, on Aliekspess, a rounded glass with a gel and a light bulb, which are not as sophisticated as here of course. Put the phone on the absorbing surface, seal the speakers and other necessary things. Apply the gel itself in the middle and put the glass. Excess gel is absorbed into the absorbent surface on which the phone rests, gently wipe off the excess and walk the UV lamp on the sides. The same effect, but at times cheaper.
I repeat - the review itself is excellent and the master is well done. But I am sure that it is possible to do the same work in more simple and inexpensive ways. Although everything looked epic :)
Nice installation , Does the dome glass op7pro has a space on the top for a more tight cases? Planning to get it but in your video i cant see if the top has a space or gap between the case. but the bottom is good it has alot of space which is great.

Only the T-Mobile version comes without a factory fitted plastic screen protector, so you will need to remove this first if you didn't get you phone from T-Mobile
Is there a budget alternative to Whitestone Dome?
Josh, great video. I used yours to guide me through the installation of the Whitestone on my OnePlus 8 Pro. It looked great and worked perfectly for ... 3 days. And then the adhesive failed and the screen protector delaminated. I filed a warranty claim and Whitestone sent me a replacement kit. I installed the new screen protector and it lasted for ... 24 hours. The adhesive failed again and the glass delaminated.
In both cases, I followed the instructions exactly. I know I am not the only person who has had this problem; a glance at threads on Reddit and other sites are full of reviews like mine. I'm really disappointed in this product. Whitestone charges a small fortune for it and it is poorly engineered.
Anyone else experience this problem? Let me know!
Still a great product and vid, sadly has to do this again but the glass saved my 7 pro! Swear I'll never buy another curved screen phone.

is it alright to glass in one corner not be glued? the glue stopped spreading like 2 mm from corner of my phone and I'm wondering if it's fine to leave it like that. (I'm that type of person who easily damages their phone screen and should replace glass probably every 8-10 so until necessary I'd love to wait before buying next one), so basically, will the glass stay or peel off?

Btw: It's getting so much harder now to get hands on White Stone Dome for OP7 Pro :( Not easy at all to buy it... especially when you are not living in the US....
I just finished installing it, it looks good but am i the only one bother by the adhesive smell my phone now has? I've gone around it and wiped it multiple times, but its still kinda smelly. Dose the smell ever fade?

I instantly ordered one as soon as I found out that they actually replace the 40$ glass in case it does crack. I hope that never happens, if it does I am sure that it might take some time to get the replacement glass but I don't feel comfortable with the stock thin screen protector.

After watching several installation videos including yours I am pretty sure that this is one of the most complicated looking but in fact easiest screen protectors you can buy. Looks like I can't really screw it up as long as the screen is clean :D

I wish there was just a curved glass protector with adhesive on it already.. I never understood why curved screens don't have these. It's just always some cheap thin adhesive on the edges with a gap in between the screen and protector.. Which renders it useless.
For some reason OnePlus is actually selling a fully adhesive curved screen protector for the OnePlus 7 Pro in China. It worked perfectly for me until my phone dropped out of my jacket while cycling yesterday. Phone is fine, screen protector is not so it fulfilled its purpose I guess. However, this is why I have to deal with this hyper complicated stuff now cause in Europe OnePlus isn't selling the same screen protectors they are selling in China... annoying.
I never used this product. How's the oleophobic coating. Does it last.
I have one installed on the Note 10 Plus and it doesn't pick up nasty smudges that much. It looks pretty clean. I love it.

Great video Josh. Got my oneplus 7 pro a week ago and was looking for something worth the buck. I have used original oneplus glass screen protectors for my oneplus devices in the past and loved them.
One question though. What is the type of adhesive in dome glass. Is it safe if once removed from the screen? Any residues or something. As i might once the official ones are out. Thanks again for the detailed installation video. Keep up the good work ✌️
Thank you! And yes, it is safe once removed from the display. No residues. You'll just need to wipe down but that's it. Nothing major at all👍

Make sure when you finish with screen protector, don't let any glue get your case. Loca is like a solvent and will destroy your case.

But, the method whitestone uses, with the glue, uv curing and phone holder makes sure that the fit is perfect, and the screen protector is properly stuck in, not with a cheap adhesive that causes a rainbow effect, or bubbles in worst case scenarios, and sometimes the adhesive is just on the edges of the display, etc.
I never use protection on mine I work in drywall and dust always find his way in there

Yes...but installation is still a breeze to do by using the clear case that came with the phone as a template when laying down the tempered glass 👍

@@ericding42 you get what you pay for. I agree with him. It's by far the best tempered glass on the market. Nothing compares. I've used at least 3 different brand on my op7pro before getting the Whitestone and let me tell you, all three started losing the adhesives on the edges in about a month or so and bubbles started to form but the Whitestone is just really great quality. The installation looks a bit intimidating but it's not that bad just follow the instructions. You won't be disappointed.
I agree with the comment before mine. This is definitely the best protector on the market. It has this clarity that can't be matched. Oh and it's super good at repelling fingerprints.

Now the S10 fingerprint reader would not work with the Whitestone Dome Glass. Does the OnePlus 7 Pro fingerprint reader work with it?
They both do👍 I use screen protectors on both phones
@@Josh_Quinonez I had the whitestone dome for the S10 when I had it and I can verify the fingerprint reader did not work, and yes I did follow the instructions.

On the phone there is already a screen protector when you buy it. Some people tell me to let it and put the screen protector you bought on it, so you have 2 screens protector. Some tell me to remove it and then put your screen protector. What did you do in the video?
My phone didn't come with a screen protector. But you should remove it before installing new one

@@ELEVOPR i have the unlocked 7 Pro with T-mobile carrier, here in the Netherlands T-mobile has the fastest internet from all carriers, but some have somewhat better coverage, altough i never notice losing it, so T-mobile is i guess all down to location and preference (had KPN as carrier before, should have been better then T-mobile but lost coverage a lot, internet was slower and i paid a lot more then what i am paying now with T-mobile for way more)
Make sure you perform this on a FLAT surface. This KEY item is not mentioned at all.

I decided to pull the trigger as I got it for $35. Guess what, it's already de gluing and the corner has cracked. This screen protector is way to flimsy and thin/garbage.
My OnePlus 7 Pro screen would of not have even cracked or gotten scratched up from the air vent to the console, which is the fall my phone took and this cheap overpriced "Glass Protector" cracked and chipped. Trust me, your glass is pretty well protected. One drop with this cheap protector and their goes $50 down the drain. Get Glass insurance for $80 for two years and your better off and have a peace of mind when your real glass breaks. I regret loosing my money. I was right from the beginning.
Getting it for free and Cracking it doesn't hurt as much as paying $50 for it and this cheap glass breaking, chipping and de gluing.

Everybody raves about these $50 screen protectors but 10 times out of 10 they eventually start spider webbing on the sides and/or corners. Sure do look good for the first few weeks though... smh
