A great smartphone, but what if we can make it even better? This is not about improvements after the update etc, this video looks at how to install the best (working, glitch-free) Google Pixel camera app / apk port onto your OnePlus 7 Pro device. The colour grading in this video is really hard to watch. It's a good video, but the colours are so contrasted and saturated it's difficult to see everything.
Sam Cross agreed, mentioned it on one of the first videos he applied this filter. A huge shame because I’m a fan of the channel.
Agreed, and it makes it hard to accept his opinions on camera picture quality and software. If your video looks like this are you really the guy to take advice from to improve picture quality?

The display of s10+ is wayyy better than this oversized brick. I have compared them side to side. The Colors on s10+ is wayy richer. And he claims it to be best phone which isn't even water resistant. lmao

Thanks for the video. But, my 7pro is on the v9.5.9 update and I feel like the 7pro has improved the camera software enough that I don't need this gcam. I say this after I downloaded and installed and (like everyone else, no option for the jpeg 100%) took plenty of pics with both cameras and after comparison, nah I'll stay with my 7pro camera. Gave it a try but not enough for me to have 2 camera apps. Thanks again for a great detailed video with good info.

Yes, zoom is better and with the Gcam there's no wide angle. I'm happy with the stock, and for me is still the best phone.
Yes it is the best. Just mirror issue with connection with tv and some of Bluetooth headphones and some bank apps
Just in some brief testing, it seems like the GCam produces more saturated photos, while the OnePlus camera photos are more washed out but retain more detail. So, i feel that I can always boost color in Snapseed and just be happy with the stock camera. But, I'm gonna keep both just in case I want to play with the GCam more
I never heard of OnePlus until recently I traded my iPhone for one and I just can't get over how amazing it a phone and company this. ABSOLUTELY UNDERRATED AND UNDERSTATED. PERIOD.
I woder why you haven't shown sample pics or even a short comparison with oneplus latest update.
i just tried comparing the two and i think the oneplus camera is better. idk if its because gcam is using the viewfinder but theres definitely less quality to the photos.
Not sure if someone has already commented about this, but here's what I've found; OP7 Pro, 12GB, 256GB:
If using Android Q DP3, you won't get the JPEG menu option. Results on picture quality also varies. It was taking 20min+ to process a picture with many of them disappearing completely.
I rolled back to Pie and I 100% see what all the fuss was about. Picture quality is phenomenal, no glitches (as yet) a portrait mode that works and you don't have to stand a mile away from you subject.....no wide angle is a shame, but I'm not disappointed at all. Quality, thanks for the video 👍💪

Honestly don't think I'll bother. Stock camera isn't that bad & with recent updates with more in the pipeline it's improving all the time. I'm also never totally convinced that adding camera APK files won't cause some conflict/glitch down the line but maybe that's me not understanding the software. Anyway after a few weeks of owning the OP7Pro think it's one of the best smartphones I've owned, especially with that screen & the speed.
I won;'t be bothering as it doesn't support the wide angle lens.
It can cause no more harm than using any other app that uses the camera like Snapchat. Has no effect on your stock camera experience
It's the best smartphone of the year 2019 - 2020. I've downloaded the apk file of G-Cam on my OP7 Pro and its working amazing.

I installed this on my phone and after doing a side by side comparison on a variety of photos I'm not convinced the pixel cam is better than the 7pro cam. It is in the selfie department but on the back cams on my unit the 7pro cam is much better, sharper, brighter, etc.

That's because the higher megapixels. Gcam is limited to only using 12.

I tried installing it on my OP7 Pro, but all its trying to do is reduce the saturation, dont see any noticable improvement in clarity though. I prefer the stock camera as its producing far better images, will be waiting for an official update from OP
So yeah, the version for the Xiaomi just crashes Everytime I boot the app. The actual version for the the OP7 Pro works fine and is perfectly stable.

Now sounds good, but allot of people just want a mobile phone to take quick pictures and as long as they know what the picture is, they are not bothered about how crisp the picture is, if they want a better picture they would go and pay more (well it's about the same price now days) for the picture to be turned into a photograph ready to be framed and put on a shelve...

I tested it on my oneplus 7 pro , but alot newer version of the apk , And after playing with the saturation i ended up improving the camera by ALOT compared to the standard oneplus camera! , Thank you so much!! , back then i tried it once on my oneplus 5t but the google cam app was always to laggy to use , this one is butter smooth

I have the Gcam install and it works wonders. But ever since OnePlus updated the stock camera I've been using that more. Don't know why but the stock takes great pictures.
Not saying it's better than Gcam. I'll probably be using the Gcam for night shots instead of the stock but I got the best of both worlds so I'm happy...

Well it really enhances mid range phone's camera but on high end, u have to compare it yourself

Wow...installed and got better night mode and love the photosphere and landscape panorama which i missed on my oneplus 5T and OP7Pro. One thing though in video i changed to 60fps and the app crashed consistently when i want to take a video.. Had to re-
install.

Ok my phone is a OnePlus 6 but I've been trying these APK files for about a year as they get 'better'. To be perfectly honest, I can't tell the difference between the pictures produced by the Google camera and the stock OnePlus camera.

I literally downloaded the EXACT one you recommended (Xiaomi URNYX05 [6.2] [updated 17/07/2019]) but there is no option for Jpeg Quality. I looked everywhere including the Advanced and other menus but it's not there

For anyone who has a OnePlus 7 Pro (after they updated their software) I advise using the default camera unless you take a lot of night time photography. I have been using this APK now for googles night mode and I can tell you now it is better than the OP version. However everything else is about the same so not worth the hassle of downloading the APK if you don't intend to take night time photos
I also do not have the final JPEG Quality selection.

Tried it on my OnePlus 7, the 6.2 gcam mi 9 dated Sept 2019 vs oneplus camera 3.4.25 ... Well the oneplus camera does a much much better job 🤷🏽♂️ Just IMO
The Mi 9 doesn't have a wide angle and the actual OP7 one doesn't work that well either. Props to the guys for trying but, personally, I'm sticking with the stock cam for now. It's pointless having a camera you can't use.

That's only half the story. You really need to root to get some great sounding speakers using viper4android.

@@Hnz_000 do you even know how to root? It's super easy. Plus you can change cpu speed, custom ROMs, screen saturation, etc. Also there are ways to bypass a hotspot data limit with root.
@@beardedbro8466 You can also brick it if you mess it up because you don't know what you're doing . Most people aren't that tech savvy.
Chris Gardner you can always use adb to boot into fast boot and run twrp recovery. So even if you brick it you never make it unusable. If your not that tech savvy you shouldn’t root anyways. But yes I agree most people aren’t that tech savvy, that makes the industry less saturated for jobs so it’s a good thing.
@@beardedbro8466 I don't have any background in software engineering but for me, it's a hobby. I had the s9, note 9 and s10+ before getting the 7pro. Freedom at last. Samsung made it incredibly hard to root and I hate not having a choice. Viper4android has made my speakers sound as good, if not better, than a Samsung phone. People can choose whether they want everything done for them or try new things. I agree with Hannibal Lecter. :-p

Everyone else: You do realise that you can install as many camera apps as you want? Install this side by side with the standard camera app and compare the two, you can always use the standard app if you need wide angle or telephoto.
How do I delete this if wanted to and just go back to stock?...how do you switch back and forth... nervous to install on 1+7pro...thanx
@@ndKfam There's nothing to be nervous about, it sits happily alongside other camera apps. I use this for general shots and the default app for wide and telephoto pictures. No problem at all
The OnePlus 7 Pro camera is already good enough without Gcam apk. Thanks to the updates.

If I use the Google Pixel Cam inside rooms the pics are by far sharper. Yes, outside I don't see difference yet. Selfie cam about same but Google to much red. The night shot is better I think in one plus. Videos, maybe same. But main shooter one plus looses very much in all pics without sunlight. So I do my main pics with the Google pixel so.
The portrait mode also extreme much sharper with Google pixel app.
Not all can't afford that phone DHA. For me the REALME 3 PRO is the midrange King phone for.afordable but incredible in specs ☺️☺️👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
