i3-12100f + RX 6600 is still the king of New Budget builds. If you go used, a Ryzen 5000-series CPU and RTX 2000-Series or AMD RX 5000-series GPU can be done but you really have to look around. I owned both parts except it was the 6600XT and was pleasantly surprised. I later upgraded my parts to match my high refresh 1440p monitor, but my more expensive upgrade PC parts are also way louder and hotter. Nothing beat the efficiency and quietness of the i3-12100f+RX 6600(XT).
Tried building similar. I have a b760 m-p with a amd 6650 hellhound gpu. I am getting no display with red and yellow flashes at first, then steady yellow light on mother board. I dont know. Update- after 5 hours of tinkering I removed one of the memory sticks and it booted up finally. Super excited, my first build, its now midnight and im stoked. ✌️
I still recommend threading in the remaining 2 standoffs on the far right side of the motherboard mounting. This will prevent the board from flexing and possibly cracking the Ram traces, as well as shorting out your 24pin main power connector on the case backing.
My thoughts as well, these videos are helpful but having those 2 extra points for plugging in the 24 pin. Especially if you don't support the back of the motherboard with your fingers. Watching him plug that in made me cringe a bit haha

First time building a pc. Trying to build this one for my kiddo, The suggested case from Amazon / the one used in this video, is currently out of stock, so I'm about to get the one suggested from Newegg which seems to be bulkier, will this be an issue installing the power supply & Mother Board, or both cases compatible for this build? Thank you for this Video, and for your help!
I'm doing a build with the same budget, i managed to get a 6650xt but got a h610 and 650w (Build Gigabyte h610m k ddr4 Lexar 16 gb ddr4 I3 12100f Xfx swift210 rx 6650xt Gigabyte p650b Pny cs2140 500gb nvme gen 4) I live in italy so prices are a bit different
Newegg Ryzen 5, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd, RTX 3060 for $650 and you don't even have to build it yourself and that includes Windows11. That's the "budget deal"!
I'm building better spec rigs and asking less for them. Shouldn't be buying a gaming PC with less than 1.5GB storage or only 16GB RAM in 2024 unless it is a bottom budget rig. It should have at least half a TB of decent NVMe storage, not a crappy KingFast SATA SSD. QC has gone to shit and I'd rather have a mining used 3060 that checks out and has been properly refurbished than any current gen budget GPU. I got an almost DOA 6600 a couple years ago. It ran. It played games. There was no artifacting. But it was performing like a 1650 when it should have been performing more like a 1080, in terms of rasterization performance. I sent it back to Amazon and bought one from a different Mfg and got a good one. I have also gotten DOA RAM and storage lately, several times. I got a DOA B550 MSI board last year. I basically won't buy budget storage or RAM from anyone but Teamgroup or Samsung (I'll put green stick RAM in a build because I know it performs the same) at this point. SP is dead to me. There are some OK HP branded drives out there, made by a third party. But they have a US RMA address and generally review OK. One very important thing to consider when buying parts is whether or not they have a US based RMA facility. This is why SP is dead to me. Would have cost $30-40 to ship a 2.5" SSD to them in Taiwan. 'Don't have to build it yourself' is a massive negative to an experienced builder. They just throw parts together. I spend hours benchmark and stress testing a build. Lastly, you are almost certainly talking about a third party sale on the Newegg platform, which is not the same thing.
There are MORE people that play PC games that don't want to build a PC, but easily have $650. Those are who I'm talking to.
