I saw her live in Las Vegas at the MGM grand garden arena in 1995. It was the most unbelievable live concert I have ever been to. That voice was straight from God and the whole arena vibrated from the sheer power of it. It was unforgettable and worth every penny I paid to see her.. There will never be another Whitney.

I saw her too years ago when I was 13 when she performed in Finger lakes performing arts center here in western NY back in 88 I believe. It’s when the Whitney album was just about to come out. And too this day it was the best concert I’ve been to. And like you said her voice vibrated the whole venue. I remember asking my Mom if she was really singing bc it was just so beautiful. Once in a lifetime experience and only one Whitney Houston. She will be forever missed .

People can argue all they want. I agree with you. Not just because of her flawless recordings. Others have done those kinds of recordings. Right after recording the Bodyguard soundtrack her voice was starting to show signs of damage from smoking. In live performances after 1993 she was able to immediately orchestrate her voice during a vocal failure. You hear one at 1:12. Having control to pull out of that or use it as a key change is masterful. This might sound silly but I get so emotional watching her live performances knowing what she was dealing with personally and hearing the toll life was taking on her voice. To ruin a gift like that I can't imagine the stress that made her do all the vices to deal with it while at the same time knowing it was damaging that voice.

Lots of times live shows like this or the Tonys or Oscars will instruct the audience not to stand without clearance due to the cameras, cranes, cables and such in the way. If everyone jumps up unexpectedly it could ruin a key shot... Or a crane shot panning across the crowd could smack someone's head.
Many studio audience shows (Jeopardy!, Fool Us, etc.) won't even allow for bathroom breaks without explicit approval from the house manager.

I was 18 years old when I saw her sing this on TV. I wasn't into much secular much at the time but when I saw her, I remember crying because I thought I had just seen and heard a angel. That performance changed my life. From then on I put my soul into everything I sang. Even until now! I am now 47 years old. I was married 16 years to someone I thought I would share the rest of my life with. I want someone who will reciprocate this love, emotion, and soul Whitney so beautifully embodies in this song. The bar was set by her. No one equals her gift. The lyrics by Dolly Parton is my souls song to my future soulmate. Because of these two women it can be nothing less than this! ❤Forever Whitney
