24% of his wins in the 90s came with that chassis. A perfect 24%.
It's crazy that it was never involved in a wreck heavy enough to not be able to be fixed with a new front or rear clip and was able to be raced that many times!!!
I wonder where the car is today. Certainly it was kept around by someone
@@iconr6racer I believe it's in HMS museum in its 1998 all star paint
Sad that the days of building, tuning, testing, and naming your own cars are gone.
Naming your own cars?? Why you think that is gone?? I'm sure the teams still have names for particular cars, no reason they couldn't or wouldnt
Just like the days of high horsepower, high rpm, etc.
yeah it sucks but if it makes it cheaper/easier for smaller teams to be in nascar and to compete with the big teams, i see that as a positive
@@diychad7268 They don't care that way anymore. The fans knew about the cars just as much as the drivers back then. That's just gone now.
@@sms-ux5kl you must like lame loser teams huh? 😂 lower power lower speeds lower attendance
The man that took NASCAR to another level. Jeff was so dominant with that car
yes, Ray did. Most of the success of that team was Ray. Jeff drove sure, but Ray was the one that made hendrick what it is today.
@@justinwilliford7151 Ray would disagree with you
@@dsz2448 Ray is being modest. im sure he had engineers helping, but he led that team. without Ray, gordon would not have won as much as he did. just look at the "t-rex" car as an example. they were way ahead of their time.
@@justinwilliford7151 That can be said for most combos in the modern era. You take Jeff away from Ray, and Ray doesn't have the success either. You never put Knaus and Jimmie together and odds are there's no 7 titles for either one.
@@Roggie249 i know. that's why i said Ray was very important over there. My point is everyone always talks about how good Jeff was, and he was good, but Ray never gets the credit he deserves IMO. he was the better of the 2.
Favorite Driver Of My Generation
These videos need to be longer!
All the other teams- "Can you inspect that car again!"
😂
The competition got scared.
"Can you make it illegal like you'll do to T-Rex in the future!?"
Fantastic piece.
Man I loved this car!!
After watching this, I went back and figured up that in 1993-1994 a black or predominantly black car won 40 of the 61 points races and both All-Star Races 😳 🤯
okay larry mac lol
@@togish1 🤣
@togish1 he's just sharing a Larry macnugget. Don't hate apriciate haha
Is that counting the 18 and 42 or just the 2 3 and 28 lol
@@plisskenationbackfromthede3657 Yes, that's counting the 18 & 42 as well as the 7 of Geoff Bodine in 1994. The 2, 3 and 28 won 34 of the 40 in the that two year period lol
Remember the jurassic car they ran in the all star race? The most dominate car i ever seen
Think that was Blacker too.
@austincooper4508 I believe it was a car that had never before seen chasis setup that was not approved by Nascar, which was allowed in that race at the time because teams could run anything they wanted If memory serves me... Petty had a Lincoln Mark III built for that same race but ran out of time to have the car race ready.
@@markcalkins977 Think you're right, I keep getting those two cars confused.
@austincooper4508 it's been a minute since that race. Sure, miss those days of racing and caliber of drivers!
Alright we need a die-cast of the ☠version of BLACKER!
Amazing car and how cool was that Winston Cup Champion truck!? The 90s were amazing and glad I got to witness it. Some of it live too!
Just 🐐 things
@HendrickMotorsports please restore blacker to its former glory
It's now in the museum at Hendrick Motorsports.
yeah, car with a history of dominance deserves to be in a motorsports museum, especially the team's own museum.
Wonder where this chasis is now. Hendrick vault?
When Chevy went from the Lumina to the Monte Carlo for the '95 cup season, they were superfast on the competition with Gordon and Earnhardt battling for the cup championship that year. Chevy won the manufacturer's title and Jeff Gordon prevails with his first of four cup titles.
The real king of Nascar
i would put gordon like 3rd on my list, 2nd at most. pearson is 1st on my list.
Just over a certain handful of years, def not of all time tho fool
@@diychad7268 shut up
@@diychad7268 to be fair, he wouldve been good for way longer if he didnt have that horrendous wreck in 2008 (in my opinion)
What ever happened to Texas World Speedway ?
So where is it now? Was it destroyed or is it out there somewhere
Probably in Hendrick Motorsports Museum, they wouldn't destroy that car
It’s in the museum. It’s last race was the 1998 Winston All Star race, which it would’ve won if they put another gallon of gas in it
Where is the car now?
Hey Jeff Gordon remember Lizzy Shangri-la the little girl named Jeannie Gordon. Hey situation theres a man in a blue car thats from get ahold of jimmy spencer he signed a bright yellow jacker when i rode in his car.
Gordon was a leprechaun on wheels now Larson takes that role
Jeff Gordon has one chassis that lasts 5 seasons. Meanwhile Ross Crashtains chassis' last half a race.
Ironically enough, Ross was one of the first drivers to win two races with the same Next Gen chassis- COTA and Talladega.
Hendricks raised the bar, for sure.
Guess they don't nickname cars anymore
Best cheaters out there
And Rusty Wallace cried like a little baby
Hendrick has always had good cars and drivers except for Dale Jr
Says the casual troll.
@@shaynejenkins446 That’s enough phone time kid, give the phone back to your mama or does she have another “friend” over for some “wrestling”?
💀
Pretty sure “Amelia” was dominant at Super Speedways.
