Yeah He had run into gordon several times that year, and that Phoenix tire cut was the last straw, it wasn't intentional but it just didn't matter anymore at that point.

Instead Clint was the bigger man and said let's get drunk and have fun. The second was when Jeff when sand due bugging in like Vegas with Clint and that really allowed them to burry the hatchet. Sand dune bugging also helped Rusty and Jeff burry the hatchet. There are other interviews on this on RUclips.

I'm a huge Gordon fan but realistically, he was never going to win that Martinsville race. Him and Johnson were the only cars that stayed out on old tires, while everyone else pitted for fresh rubber. The contact with Bowyer certainly didn't help any, but he was a sitting duck either way.

Clint Bowyer has been very good in the booth thus far. He and Jeff Gordon make a good duo, though they have talked about the "incident" so much, you get the feeling they both still have bitterness about it.
Should talk about Clint's attempt at revenge the following year when he intentionally spun and pitted to try and help Logano get in and keep Gordon out of the chase.
@@smalls3187 my mistake, I had confused the investigation into radio communications between Penske and Front Row with the MWR catastrophe...which is what resulted in Gordon being added to the chase... Oops. Crazy that both happened in the same race though lol
