I'm hoping you take the shelves in the room down before painting red wall, it is SO much easier to paint without obstructions. I can't believe your sun is still up 😂😂😂 at height of summer here it rises after 5am and sets 730ish pm. Brown water suggests work has recently been done on the pipes nearby or pipe damage.
I’m not going to lie, I did not take the shelves down 😂 well I did but I didn’t take the pieces off the wall 😂 it was just a slap job to be honest with you! The brown in the pipes appears to be from all the brown dust or something that’s in the water tank (I had ti get up into the attic it was the stuff of nightmares!) that is so crazy to me your sun sets so early, it was bright until 11 last night! And thank you for the kind words my gran was wonderful and well all miss her terribly ❤️
The wall looks really good, I will look even better with the 2nd and 9r 3rd coat. That little room is going to be so beautiful, I love the colour. Hi Ashling wall looking nice, water problem firstly bathroom and toilets usually fed from large attic tank try quick rattle of ballcock ,the fact it is not use very much it could be stuck, as I said in earlier comments fooling fast creates paint spatter and over spray,it’s advice you don’t have to listen to. Thank you! I definitely feel like a bit of a grafter! And it was a hard week but she had such a great life and was such a character. Was nice to catch up with our huge family (she had 14 kids, 45 grand kids, 65 great grandkids, and 2 great great grandkids) so there was a packed out church and lunch for her after. ❤️
The blue and white wall is lovely, makes such a big difference and really brightens it all up. It’s so peaceful where you are it was lovely to just listen to the birds, blissful! You are getting loads done, you should be very proud of yourself. We found the first 6 months of doing this we were getting 2 steps forward and then taking 3 steps back all of the time….but the good news is…it has got better the more time we have been doing it, so times like that will pass. Is the shower/bath working? Put a bucket in one of them and fill and after doing your business, toss the water directly into the toilet bowl. No need to bother filling the cistern!

So no progress on staying over yet, they said that they are happy with my proof of vacancy and that while I can start staying there they don’t recommend it just in case I have to redraw my application and resubmit, the house wouldn’t be considered vacant at that point… it’s not ideal but at least I know I can stay the odd night if needed and hopefully in the next 4-8 weeks I will be allowed stay full time :)
The blue and white walls are charming and especially with the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds. I love the late evening light in summer, its such a warm golden glow with a gentleness that bathes the lush green land. Warmest hugs to you gals from myself Frank (fast zzzz on couch beside me worn out from chasing seagulls in my garden (a pair I call Siefried and Cecily😂). They come and knock on my patio door looking for food, I kid you not, Frank goes crazy barking at them but they're not bothered.😂

Omg everyone knows everything here! It’s kinda nice that the neighbours all talk and keep an eye out but I did think it was funny he knew I wanted donkeys even though I’d never met him!
Blue is not my favourite colour tor decorating but it does look good in this situation. Just pour a bucket of water down the toilet, that will flush every thing down
well look at the bright side at least you have an inside toilet that can be fixed. 200 years ago you would have gone to a out house to squat over a hole and wipe up with some sheep's wool 🐑

Be careful using the silver tape as painters tape. It can leave a sticky residue when you take it off. But you use what you have to get the job done. I painted my whole house using the small rollers as I found them easier to manage. I've heard some people use them as they don't hurt their hands and wrists as much. The blue and white wall is nice. You paint whatever colours you want and that make you happy - you will be living there. Hello from Queensland
Aisling absolutely love the blue. It looks so fresh on your toilet try and see if the flapper ring is just gotten old. It’s the ring at the bottom where the water lifts up and down RUclips it’ll show you and you can go to the hardware store or whatever they have there and replace it yourself I know you can do it.

I hope the water is fixed by now, I was thinking it might be a small leak and when you are away for a week at a time it has slowly drained till it became a full stop? Hopefully It was something that was easy and cheap. I am Loving the blue it really brightens it all up, Imagine when all the wall to the house is done and that blue will just pop. on the other wall I would copy the same as your doing I think if the pillars were all blue it throws you a bit. Anyway your Cottage you do as you please, one wee bit of advise especialy when going to paint inside with a colour Stir it like mad first, or it could come out in patches, Big hugs to all 3 and Love sent xxxx Dede xx

If you put a carrier bag in your paint tray then pour the paint - when you finish just put the carrier bag in the bin and you have a clean tray
