- There's not much we can be doing as we wait on grant approval, but we can try make the place look a little less grim and old externally. Hope you enjoy!
As always your support and feedback is SO appreciated. The next few weeks of videos will have lots going on, and hopefully this will lead up to a lot of progress for the house and land over the Summer. Hearing your thoughts on things is always a lovely boost and motivation.
Morrigan's Cottage is a 200 year old traditional stone cottage set in the west of Ireland on just under 4 acres. Originally this house would have been used by the local farmers, rented from their British landlords. Dated back to at least the early 1800s, someone has been consistently living here and farming this land since then, up until about 4 years ago when the house was left vacant by the previous owners.

100% gives me the same too! Like Greek island! I had wanted darker but I’m actually happy enough with the light, I’m sure next year I’ll want to repaint to something new 😂🥲

You need some private property signs, also some camera signs , and some lights inside and out that go on at different times. Have some spray deterrent with you. I worry too much. Been there done that and believe me they paid for it. Your blue paint matches the sky. I love that blue and white. It's so pretty.
That is really smart to have signs and lights etc, I do have the house all monitored but I don’t have over by the stables done so that’ll be the next project! And the blue turned out nice, not the shade I initially thought about but I’m happy with it ❤️

I think it’s VERY cool that your a lawyer, that was my dream job as a child but I ended up doing psychology in college and then finance first for work and now working in social services! But the dream was also lawyer! Maybe fence of field and offer it fir grazing for sheep ,,they clean up land great and would save you time with all that grass cutting
I would love to get some sheep in, there doesn’t seem to be any sheep near by and I have asked the neighbours to keep an ear out for me if anyone needs some grazing land but fingers crossed!
The white and blue looks amazing. Will the main colour of the house be white or blue?

Get you field topped (cut), a local farmer will do it ask neighbour s if they know anyone who would top the field ,,also pull that ragwort ,,its a weed that harmful to horses and should not be allowed grow and spread 😊
I just saw a video about how bad ragwort is I will definitely be doing my best to remove it! I thought it was so pretty! And I will ask about topping! Thank you for the tip it’s good to know the technical terms!
Oh I've had women pull at my legs to see if I was wearing white stocking since I'm so white. Lol. Yes I'm older & we had to wear stocking I. The 80s & early 90s.. Be safe.

A Happy Birthday Aisling I hope you had a lovely Day, as for the metal pen thingy I think after you moved it and put it back to rights that probably the wind blew it over as it was not settled in to ground. But for the needle ??? is that something the bee keeper used ??? as it could have been a animal that moved it or something. As for the wall it really is so lovely and bright cant wait for the house to be sitting pretty along with it, you really do have a lovely piece of land as just imagine it all looking like the field across the way, be stunning and what a sun trap too. Fingers crossed the news for the grant comes soon and your plans will be put in action, the thoughts of most of that all done for Christmas and the tree and lights you will be all warm and cosy. So the needle has been over by the sheds since I bought the place, I never got rid of it because I kinda forgot it was there lol, very possibly the wind blew it on to the ground! The cattle feeder thing is quite heavy so I’m not sure it could have blown or moved over by itself BUT everything else has been in place since so I think it’s ok! I'm so pleased things are moving along nicely and I can't wait for you to move in. It is a wonderful thing that all this beautiful land is yours, you've done so well at your age to achieve this, I'm not going to say that you're lucky as you've obviously worked hard for it (unless you won the lottery that is😂) but it is a gorgeous place to live and has huge potential. If its any consolation my legs are also pretty white, if I stuck mine out in the sun for a week they'd still be white, and I've only ever wanted nice brown legs😢.❤
We obviously have the same skin type, no matter how often I flash my legs in the sun they never get darker! I think a couple hundred years ago paleness was a sign of wealth so we’ll take the small wins 😂 I feel lucky that the house is mine even though no lotto was involved! I just can’t wait to get properly stuck in! ❤️
You will want to be careful about being in the house while the render is being removed and the floors are being dug up. The amount of dust will be detrimental to your health. Make sure you have a proper mask.😮
Oh I know the dust is crazy, and I’m definitely not as good with the health and safety as I should be, I need to look into proper masks altho the one I use does say it’s suitable for dust so I’m hoping it helps at least a little lol

I have cameras internally but none by the sheds so I will have to get an out door one

Not long now and you'll get news on your grant then full steam ahead and before you know it, you will be all warm, cozy and settled in front of your fire withyour babies. Loving the fresh walls. P.s. I have bought solar security lights that light up when movement is detected and they work even in the winter as they store the power and are not on continuously. Cheap to buy and I got them from one of the big DIY stores. Furry hugs to you gals.

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely have to get an outdoor camera just to be on the safe side! And it does feel like the grant is moving so that’s obviously great too! There’s a couple cones down around there and I think maybe they are place because of the pond, maybe the pond reaches to them during rainier seasons, I’m not sure to be honest but I’m sure I’ll find out! ❤️

Hope you had the happiest of birthdays. Just a suggestion, now that the round, metal object is flipped over you could drag it over to a spot on the concrete so you don’t have to keep moving it to do yard work.

I hate the idea someone has been snooping around your homestead - I'm glad you have neighbours nearby, I wouldn't like the idea of you and the girls being too isolated.
