I've watched a lot of Try Guys, never really cared about their personal life. But hearing what happened wa a major shock considering what Neds brand was in the group. It all came off real and as pissed/upset as the other guys were, you can tell they were caught off guard by it. It has apparently been happening for awhile as well. Which leads me to speculate what has been going on in his home life with his family or has he been living a lie his entire life and it was all fake it until you make it.
I think a major aspect of the hans niemann drama is that chess relies on you to trust your opponent, if you're playing someone you cant trust not to cheat youll never know if theyre making a bad move because it was a mistake or a weird strategy by a chess engine, suspecting another player is cheating at the top level of chess can absolutely make you play worse against which is personally my theory of why hans was able to beat magnus
I think from what I understand with Hans. Even apart from the statistical analysis, Hans’s inability to explain his thinking behind his chess moves in any coherent way is the most telling give away to me. If he really is the best chess player in the world, he should be able discuss his moves and the reasoning behind them just like any Super GM.
Maby hes so ingenious that we cant comprehend the moves he makes because their so complex no human could umdeerstand it, so he cant explain it in human terms
He’s not the best chess player in the world. He never said that and nobody else ever said that. He beat the best player in the world in one game. That’s what they’re saying. Whether he cheated or not idk but the best player in the world (Magnus) doesn’t win 100% of his games
@@KKSportsKKS The chart shows that his strength score has had the biggest improvement within his age range by a fair amount even compared to the likes of Fischer and Carlsen... Can he be both the most prodigious prodigy as well as an avid cheater? yes, is it likely? you tell me.

I think even if Ned didn't cheat with an employee and his wife didn't work with their brand, they should have fired him still. I think since their online presence is generally based on their personalities, having a known cheater be one of the faces of the brand would be a bad move either way.
@@turquoisemoon8453 yeah I'm not well versed in laws and I have no idea how it works for a small business and online businesses and shit I'm just talking from a public opinion perspective I guess
If Ned's branding is part of their contract, maybe they can fire him but if not, then I don't think they can. But thankfully, ironically, that isn't the case and the grounds for firing him is valid. The employee though, Alex, is a tough one, so I've read.

The united states still has at-will employment, and they could simply state that he’s no longer fulfilling his duties or able to fulfill his duties (for example, even if he wasn’t cheating with an employee, he undoubtably would have taken some time away from social media to “focus on family” and therefore wouldn’t be producing content and interacting with fans per his duties)

This Mogul Mail character has some really mature, sophisticated takes. These are the kinds of opinions that I just don't see from people (especially in the internet/streamer space). You deserve my like
The fact that some people think that Hans has a super secret second set of morals hidden in the back of his brain that he activates for OTB like a superpower, is insane.
@@free3793 Even if he was just given a sign for a single turn or two that is a significant edge, its not hard to imagine someone in the crowd give him outside information like this
Unreal how good lud is as a journalist i love the style of hey these are some facts, our editorial opinion, some things to have in mind, moving on. Its so refreshing. Ill be sure to bring a mogul mail up in one of my poli sci classes
Hans really reminds me of how speedrunners are caught. First there's suspicion caused by a rapid rise and some inconsistency here and there. Then, there's an analysis which proves that it's very very suspicious. Lastly, there's an investigation which works out exactly how it was done and how to prove someone is doing it in the future if someone else tries it. Also, the goal of a cheater is to get away with it with the least reputation damage. Cheaters will never admit more than is proven and they will lie as much as they need to. IMO he's a liar and deserves to get a ban for life, also maybe over the board games should be recorded ahead of time and not played live so that people have a harder time cheating.
After watching the video they’ve posted yesterday, this really hits hard and makes me wanna cry endlessly. The three of them looked so disappointed, heartbroken and infuriated in every way. I couldn’t help but feel really terrible for them. I’m just glad that more and more people are aware of this scandal now and that we continue to support the three of them and the rest of Try Guys employees.
Just a small correction as they’ve clarified on Twitter recently; they aren’t editing him out of old content. He will be edited out of content they have prefilmed and is going to be released soon! Sorry to be *that* person!
He cheated, he lied about it, then lied about how much. There's no telling wether he'll cheat again, or even if he's still lying. I say ban him from online chess when there's money on the line. Allow him to play OTB after a very thorough cavity search.
Lud has found an excellent unfilled niche with this channel: mild, normal person takes for people who just want to know what's going on. Ps big fan of blondewig
There needs to be an independent investigation into Hans cheating, it’s the only real way to get some definitive answers without any conflicts of interest.
There’s no evidence on him cheating in the game against Magnus, that’s the thing. Nothing found when they checked him, nothing strange about the moves. But what they think is suspicious is that he’s cheated before, which is what they’re looking into. In concrete terms though that means nothing regarding if he cheated against Magnus.
@@Decrupt I thought I read that the moves matched up with what a computer would do. And that Hans mentioned that he studied Magnus' previous matches, but it was found that Magnus had only done the same setup once in his career. I could be wrong.
Bro imagine being in the timeline where the beads "theory" is legit and the end result is colonoscopies before every OTB game in a professional setting
The worst thing Hans did was admit to cheating even just twice as he says. Now that it has come from his mouth its very hard to doubt he wasn't cheating when he's called out by the World #1
It's also REALLY hard to believe the data shows him being THAT MUCH better than literally the #1 Sure it's not impossible, but it's so improbable especially when he has already been caught cheating.
Maybe Magnus man just lost cuz he had a bad game and is salty af about it. If ur gonna take him at his word without evidence youre actually braindamaged. Lets see in what way he cheated (if he did) in his last face to face game against Magnus that set this whole shit of and than decide.
He didn't admit to just two times in the interview, I don't know why that keeps getting repeated. He said he cheated when he was 16 to improve his rating, do you really think that meant a single game?
The normalization of cheating is legitimately insane, especially those who think Ned should’ve kept his position on the Try Guys. Like bruh, do you think before you say ever? Why would a group for their branding keep someone who cheated on their wife and two children with an employee be kept there, and not the wife?
Nah, people are unreasonable about it. Of course he should be fired for it. Though, I remember this lily and albert cheating incident. Basically kids having a relationship and there's cheating. Everyone was just insanely up in arms about it , when it didn't even concern them, and it really wasn't a huge deal (They were not married, did not have kids, and their relationship had only lasted 2 years). It'd be dumb to him in that offline tv group, obviously, but the amount of hate and bullshit was way over done.
Now I feel like Magnus's Resignation to Hans in the online tournament was more calculated than it appeared. Maybe it was basically Magnus saying "You can either have Hans or Magnus, and if you don't ban Hans, then I don't intend to play in your tournament".
This, now that he is known for being a proven cheater and liar at the time something Magnus did that seemed odd or even a bit childish makes it make a lot more sense. I think people backed the wrong horse trusting Nieman at his word.
The hair honestly isn't bad. I think it'll look even better when a little bit of roots grow in to give it depth and you could always use toner to take some of the brassy yellow color out and make it more platinum. But change is nice, it's a new era of lud hair
They kicked him out because he lied in his statements. Their agreement to let him back based on him admitting to his crime. Also Danny isn’t the CEO, he’s the CCO (chief chess officer)
Yeah and honestly I think they are covering their backs. His past being made public, it’s bull that he was ever allowed to be back in their tournaments to begin with… the only reason he was is because he was a public face… I think they revoked it because it probably shouldn’t have happened in the first place… they knew how much he cheated before but made an exception they probably shouldn’t have
@@aidenroy2569 They were lenient because he was a child and they obviously treated it differently to if a grown adult GM who is mature enough and can separate right from wrong did the same thing. Everyone's done something extremely stupid when they were young. They showed goodwill to Hans hoping he would reform but he took advantage of that. Nobody deserves to be chastised for their entire lives for a mistake they made in the past as a kid. Now if they don't learn a lesson from that and go on to repeat the misdemeanor like Hans did, only then should they be dealt with in a severe manner and be handed a more lasting punishment. My point is basically that everyone should have a second chance to right their wrongs. However if they do the opposite and repeat their misdeed the hammer will come down on them harder.
@@areebsiddiqui758 sure except he was 17 cheating repeatedly including games with cash prizes… I understand the leniency for a kid especially when he was 12-16 but once he showed repeated games in tournaments with cash prizes he should have been permanently removed from tournaments… not saying from the site all together or anything, or from otb but a repeat offender cheater online shouldn’t be in tournaments where it’s incredibly easy to cheat
@@areebsiddiqui758 I’m not saying he shouldn’t have the chance to write his wrongs, but that chance doesn’t have to be in cash game prizes that hundreds of people are playing for many studying daily for him to piss on that and cheat repeatedly in the past
Character vs. Reputation is what a lot of people don’t seem to see a difference in. Reputation is how people see you compared to what your Character is; what you actually do that plays into how people choose to see you.
It's a great thing you bleached your hair. This means you can go with any color you like. I think pink would be a great fit it's on brand and goes with the merch. Stay safe and keep pumping out great videos lud!
I like the storyline of this young hotshot taking down someone who is widely considered the best to ever do it. But considering that Hans has cheated over a hundred times online and the fact that there are quite a few statistically anomalies that could potentially show he is cheating, as an outsider with little to no bias on the situation, I personally think that there is a good chance Hans cheated, but I also agree that action should only be taken if there is concrete proof of him cheating
I'd be curious how they detect "likely cheating". Perfect or near-perfect moves? If so then I'd imagine most of Magnus' games would get flagged for potential cheating. If it were you or me making these moves 100% it'd be cheating but these are some of the best of the best. Not saying he 100% did or didn't do it, but I look at these things skeptically until they make sense to me.
@@Haruka_May I agree. More evidence is needed to determine either or. It's very difficult to cheat during an in-person match, especially one that is recorded and heavily scrutinized in real time. Chess officials even use metal detectors to check for prohibited devices before games. I don't see them missing any devices that would be on either players. So, I'm leaning more towards that Hans didn't cheat. But again, like you said, we can't be 100% sure without more evidence.
@@Haruka_May From statistics, even Magnus only had like 2 games with 100% accuracy since 2020. While Hans had like 10 of such games in the same time period. And cmiiw, I think they detected it with things like statistical anomalies, engine accuracy, time spent on a move, behavior on critical move, and also analysis by chess experts.
@@phoebea Yeah, it's just circumstansial evidence so far. Unless you caught them in the acts cheating, we can't really prove it for certain. But his behavior and also admission is giving people reasonable suspicions.
@@Haruka_May The measure of score being used is stockfish or similar, chess engines with ~4000+ elo, when the highest ever achieved by a human (magnus) is 3000; playing a perfectly matching game to one is insane if it lasted a significant amount of moves. So no, Magnus' games aren't "near perfect", and truthfully solving Chess is literally physically impossible so even the bots scoring isn't "perfect" its just way better then anything else.

like in the dream cheating scandal and with nieman, its not scary if bad players cheat its scary when people cheat who know what they do with their extensive ingame knowledge. its very hard to catch them
There's not really a chance that hans gets invited to OTB tournaments any more. Even if there's a 1% chance that he's cheating, given the evidence already against him it's a risky move for event holders to have. As someone who watched Try Guys back when they were still a Buzzfeed segment, it's still a hard pill to swallow that this is all happening. It's like Ned took the worse possible route to completely fuck up his career, his image, his marriage and family, his friendships, and moreover, find a way to screw everyone else over too. Like jfc man... what were you thinking?
He got mind controlled by hormones
Horny, thought he could get away with it and how it's not a big deal because the sex was consensual... a lot of people just take something even worse to justify it so yeah cool it wasn't r@pe okay cool no big deal then. It really sucks for all the people involved.

So proud of mogul mail for supporting Ludwig's decision to bleach his hair

I think even if Ned didn't cheat with an employee and his wife didn't work with their brand, they should have fired him still. I think since their online presence is generally based on their personalities, having a known cheater be one of the faces of the brand would be a bad move either way.
Yeah I get it, but it's possible to get wrongful termination lawsuits if not done properly
If he didnt cheat and his wife didn't eork with their brand.. why would he be fired then? I haven't watched the videos so thats maybe why im confysed by your comment. Was he always a cheater?
@@turquoisemoon8453 I feel like you don’t understand what’s a protected class and what isn’t. You can’t get fired in retaliation for certain protected activities (cheating on your wife is not protected), or if you’re part of a protected class and prove that you were fired for being a member of this class.

Man knew his angle lol
Dream looked in the camera and said "This angle is the one," and stuck with it throughout the whole video.
There needs to be an independent investigation into Hans cheating, it’s the only real way to get some definitive answers without any conflicts of interest.
Fide is also investigating, I think?
There’s no evidence on him cheating in the game against Magnus, that’s the thing. Nothing found when they checked him, nothing strange about the moves. But what they think is suspicious is that he’s cheated before, which is what they’re looking into. In concrete terms though that means nothing regarding if he cheated against Magnus.

The worst thing Hans did was admit to cheating even just twice as he says. Now that it has come from his mouth its very hard to doubt he wasn't cheating when he's called out by the World #1
It's also REALLY hard to believe the data shows him being THAT MUCH better than literally the #1
Sure it's not impossible, but it's so improbable especially when he has already been caught cheating.
He's already been caught cheating. Admitting it to the public is the better decision before it would've been dug up, thus making him look more guilty.
@@Rakkoonn he also said he's never cheated on stream, which is a lie
I love how the search for the tryguys thing just say: "WHAT HAPPENDF"
Now I feel like Magnus's Resignation to Hans in the online tournament was more calculated than it appeared. Maybe it was basically Magnus saying "You can either have Hans or Magnus, and if you don't ban Hans, then I don't intend to play in your tournament".
This, now that he is known for being a proven cheater and liar at the time something Magnus did that seemed odd or even a bit childish makes it make a lot more sense. I think people backed the wrong horse trusting Nieman at his word.
@@PedroAce Man, people calling Magnus childish really gotta apologize to him now that it's proven

They kicked him out because he lied in his statements. Their agreement to let him back based on him admitting to his crime. Also Danny isn’t the CEO, he’s the CCO (chief chess officer)
No, they banned him before that interview - that's why Niemann brought it up.
