Love how you are NOT one of the reactors who just watch a video and say "that was cool, see you on our next one!". Really liking the insights on musicianship and so on. Also the chill feeling you got in your videos, is different from some others, who want to say much, but say as little as possible.
That is so very kind of you to say! I know I get lumped into just another reaction channel, but I want to do so much more. Like we're hanging out in my garage listening to tunes and having a few cold ones. That's what it's all about, my friend. Thank you 🤘❤️🤘
Ahhhh. Marko's voice is like sitting in a room listening to an old friend. It's just so comfortable and comforting. It may sound contradictory but, even when he is using vocal fry, or screaming, there is that sense of familiarity there, at least for me. Thank you so much for reacting to this wonderful song, a tribute to a father that Marko obviously both loved and admired. I wonder if the mirrors are because he is looking in them and not only hearing his father in the song, but seeing his father reflected back?
Yes, I get that feeling with Marko too. He soothes the soul and brings a sense of peace. Marko was very blessed to have such a father. Nancy asked me afterward that I should have mentioned that and that I was not so fortunate. I didn't want to bring myself down with those thoughts so I didn't go there. Now, all I can hope for is that someday my boys could hear this song and think of me the way Marko thinks of his dad. 🙏 Thank you so much for another incredible and beautiful song from the one and only Marko! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well, you found this and I am so glad you did! Thanks Gaye (hope I spelled it right!)! There is an English version but it's blurry because of the different mouth shapes for the words. Still hits home in any language thanks to Marko's voice. Kiitos paljon.
Yes, it does hit home! Gaye and I talked about which version and luckily with lyrics in the comments, the Finnish version was doable. I loved it! Kiitos ystava! 🤘❤️🤘
Marko's solo album was released twice, the first 2019 one was in Finnish, the the English version in 2020. Some songs were originally written in Finnish and some in English, then were translated to the other for each album version. Now you see what I meant when I said that I thought "Left On Mars" ,with Tarja, would fit musically with songs on this album.
Oh yes, absolutely! I'm glad I did the Finnish version. I was told the English video version is the same but with some blurrying going on because the lips don't match the words. Nah, I'll stick with the original version. Thanks, Chris!
that translation took many liberties, here is better translation for lyrics: I know your voice. It echoes through me to infinity A broken man in flesh, but your spirit’s free The might of man, it crumbles, the earth’s our destiny Still I hear, while I’m asleep, how you sang to me The voice of my father. It’s the voice I’ll sing with too The voice of my father. Sing my son and I’ll be with you The voice of my father. From fathers of history The voice of my father It is here in me The doors of heaven might be closed for both me and you But a righteous man is more than books and rules I think you could tear down those gates and just walk on through The honor of men cannot be bound by the words of fools The voice of my father. It’s the voice I’ll sing with too... They told us that we are dust, but we’re the ashes of the stars We are burned, but never gone The miracle of life is in me, and my blood sings on and on The voice of my father. It’s the voice I’ll sing with too...
It's a beautiful song. It's also interesting to compare the Finnish and English versions; I like some parts of the English lyrics better, and other parts I like more in Finnish.
I can understand that. I wonder if it's the translation or how the words sound in either Finnish or English that makes it more pleasing to the ear. I haven't listened to the English version yet, I've become used to the Finnish. 🤘❤️🤘
@BemusingBill It could be that. I've been learning Finnish for nine years and it's a beautiful language. But for me I also think it's the lyrics themselves; for example, I like the English chorus more (the last line in Finnish translates as "My father's voice, I remember it", whereas in English he sings "The voice of my father, it is here in me"), but I prefer the bridge in Finnish (The translation, essentially is "They claimed our flesh was made of land; it's the dust of the stars, ages only burning; life and blood bound to it, and veins are filled with singing").
Thank you so much, my friend! I've never heard of him but would love to know more! I'll find his channel and find something to react to and give you a shout out. Peace 🤘❤️🤘
@@BemusingBill He is amazing! He's actually also really close friends with Marko, and they've performed together many times. 😊 He's done a lot of work; his current solo career is more of an acoustic-driven rock style, but the first band he became known for was gothic metal. His first solo single Kuoppa shows his range quite well, though, I think, so maybe that could be a good place to start.
😂I understand but I think Finnish language is more 'musical' naturally so I wanted to enjoy it as a musical experience. Kiitos ystava! Greetings from NY! 🤘❤️🤘

And as good as Marko is, I personally think JP Leppäluoto is the best Finnish singer. I would definitely suggest reacting to him too.
