    On my view or opinion, Anemo is also related with loss of a loved one --- Kazuha, Barbatos, Sucrose, Xiao and even the Traveller all have suffered or witnessed the loss of someone dear to them --- specially friends or family. Why? Because since the wind represent freedom, as in free from all attachment --- specially the emotional ones.

    My friends and I have an entire google doc based on how to get certain visions. With the help of Inazuma we realized that ambition plus certain character traits towards their ambitions is the key. Resilience, determination, passion are a few of the traits (geo, hydro and Pyro respectively) . We haven’t cracked Electro yet and the only thing we’ve come up with is overcoming great difficulty

    • @KurellaKura
      @KurellaKura 2 года назад +82

      I always thought of Electro as ‘Perseverance’
      Although Beidou seems like the odd one out- but if Perseverance is how they get an electro vision then it’s probably connected to her ability to counter her enemies’ attacks tenfold.
      Lisa - Dying but still persevering to share knowledge and continuing to be a librarian.
      Razor - a boy raised by wolves of all things at infancy
      Fishcl - Persevering to personify fishcl from her books
      Loneliness can also be a factor-
      But again- B e i d o u

    • @sonbulan1425
      @sonbulan1425 2 года назад +133

      @@KurellaKura Electro, I’ve observed, is the element of exception. The outliers of the data set.
      The pursuit of eternity is exceptional even in itself; when one thinks of lightning, you blink and you miss it, but the will of Inazuma is to extend that moment into infinity.
      Electro is extraordinary. Unheard of. Razor: the boy who became a wolf. Sara: the tengu who became an army general despite her kind rarely appearing in human society at all. Fischl: the girl who became a literal fairy tale.
      Perhaps it’s among a specific set of people. Lisa, among Sumeru scholars, quit the pursuit of knowledge to become but a noble librarian in her home of Mondstadt. Keqing, among the Liyue Qixing, is Rex Lapis’ most outspoken critic despite the fact that she answers to him as part of her esteemed duty.
      And then there’s exceptional talent and ability. Ei has the tall order of seeking the eternity mentioned earlier, but there is also Beidou: the one known for her exceptional takedown of Haishan, a feat previously thought to be impossible.

    • @nightfallsongbird
      @nightfallsongbird 2 года назад +53

      I always thought of electro being a unique world view or view on a concept/concepts that either stems from the vision wielder’s ambition or is the cause of it
      Beidou contradicts the typical idea of a pirate in many ways, and despite her frequent violation of laws, she still somewhat has the approval of Liyue’s Qixing
      Amy acts the role of her favorite storybook character, Princess Fischl, practically 24/7. She continues her role play despite being told to “grow up” and has found a few precious friends who will go along with her antics.
      Keqing has openly radical views in a country that’s widely traditional. Visions are seen as gifts from the gods by most people, and yet Keqing tried to destroy hers when she was granted one.
      Thanks to her studies in Sumeru, Lisa has possibly gained knowledge that the gods try to hide away from mortals. She was simply granted her vision when realized she would be needing one in her studies. Perhaps the gods saw her potential and wanted to keep an eye on her?
      Razor was raised by wolves and obviously developed an interesting view on many things because of that, most notably interpersonal relationships. Once the traveler gains his trust, he accepts them as his lupical, or “found family.”
      (I know Raiden isn’t a vision holder, but the archons tend to reflect their ideals too)
      Raiden Ei’s strict definition for eternity led to her locking herself away and trying to keep Inazuma in a static and unchanging state of her “eternity”
      Unfortunately, I don’t know much about Kujou Sara, so I don’t know if she fits into this theme

      I feel like the line that differentiates the Vision-granting character traits is so thin that it's borderline arbitrary. I mean, surely you'd be passionate about something if you're determined to do something. In the same vein, you'd need determination to remain resilient.

    Another addition to Xiao and themes of freedom is that he was once enslaved. That past he suffers the debt of was forced onto him. All the cruelty he committed was because he was forced by an ancient god to do so. His loyalty to Morax came from Morax freeing him during the archon war. That karmic debt almost killed Xiao but he was saved by Venti's music.

    I dont really know why but Anemo seems always accompanied with some kind of loss , melancholy , loneliness or lack of freedom itself. Like as if in order to attain true freedom something must cut out of your life leaving a hole in your past. Thank you for this wonderful analysis. Anemo has been one of the most wonderful elements in-game and to see how the element comes to life in each of the playable characters makes them all the more endearing and relatable. The fact that Anemo is the only element that gives us a swirl of reactions shows how much of a free-reactive element it is. The phrase Dainsleif stated about "What does freedom really mean when demanded of you by a god?" shows that there is much more to the word "freedom" than what we usually associate it to. Freedom to do what you love despite others seeing it as shackles from Sucrose's point of view really makes me contemplate it a lot.

    I find it curious how it's confirmed that the archons aren't the ones destributing visions, yet vision users seem to embody the ideals of the gods. It's not affected by the regions or which gods the users worship, so why is it that each element has a specific criteria?

      @@O_Ciel_Phant0mhive Visions are Celestial in nature, it's been said a few times now that the Elemental Energy that naturally occurs in Teyvat, and the energy that vision wielders (and gods) use are not the same energy.
      This is why the Traveler is so important to the puzzle. They don't have a vision and the elemental energy they summon is from Teyvat itself through the ley lines (connected to the statues of The Seven)
      Delusions are man made using dark magic. So far it doesn't seem like they are abyssal in nature because Deinsleif makes it clear that Abyssal Energy is its own unique thing separate from the elemental energies of Teyvat and the Vishap Realm.
      Lastly it's still up for debate but if dark and light magic are real then that is probably what the Traveler is using to put away their weapon after a fight. Paimon actually asks about that trick and the Traveler can't explain it.

    I allways though Jean was something like "The protector of freedom", doing everything to make sure her city is free just of love. Love for Monstad, for the people, for the history.
    Also, the designs are something to note. Kazuha incorporates both traditional armor and hip-hopy elements, adding to his revelion. Sayu looks like she added some accesories so people maybe wouldn't notice she's still on pijamas, 'couse fashion can't tell her what to do.
    And there's also something in Monstad people that just make them look French. I don't know if it's just me, but would fit with the "no monarcs land" thingy
    And lastly, to mention that Jeans clothing looks A Lot like Venti's, adding to the fact that she's protecting what he started, that she is continuing that legacy and making it her own.

    Oh my god that sucrose impression was so on point.
    Also, analyzing freedom is a bit weird to me. Isn't ambition itself a form of freedom? With that in mind, can it not be said that every character possesses this freedom? Bennet's defiance of his bad luck, Ayaka's decision of growing up in order to help her brother, Xingqiu's defiance of his family responsibilities, xinyan's choice to go against societal norms for her own passion, are all these not freedom?
    It also makes me think if visions themselves are a form of freedom. Not just freedom, they feel like they might represent all seven heavenly principles. They at least represent the ones we understand so far.
    A vision is the freedom to pursue individual ambition. It is also a contract between an individual and the gods. It is basically eternal as even if the vision bearer dies it still remains intact, and even though it's light fades away, it's possible for someone with a shared ambition to reignite it. As Yae Miko said, "Some ambitions outlive their masters, long after the soul ascends. They remain as they were in the beginning, burning bright and true for all eternity".
    As for the other principles, I don't understand what they mean to celestia and to the respective archons. Can ambition be considered a form of "love"? Can it be considered as "just" for the individuals with the greatest ambitions to be bestowed with visions? Why is "war" of all things even considered as a heavenly principle? I don't know and won't know for the next 5 years, but it's fun to speculate until then, and that too is a form of freedom.
    Loved the vid tho. I also think I gave you another topic for a video, and it would be really fun to get your thoughts on it.

      I sometimes think that what if vision represents every concept the archons' possess. Like you said, vision lets you have the "freedom" to do your ambition but I also think it could be some sort of "contract" to the gods either Celestia or the archons. Lastly, the vision is also "eternal" as long as your ambition resonates with it then the vision is an eternal catalyst like with Kazuha, Ningguang, and Mona.

      Freedom is a notoriously contradictory concept.
      Decarabian, in his domain of old Mondstadt, argued that even he espoused freedom in the form of freedom from disorder and the outside world. His subjects had a different view, they ‘do so wish to see the birds in flight,’ and rebelled in the name of freedom from oppression.
      That same ‘freedom from oppression’ is found in all Ameno vision wielders whether oppression comes in the form of trauma or enduring sacrifice. That is their defining characteristic.

    If you look at Venti’s gnosis it’s the queen piece in chess- which can symbolise his freedom across the board (I.e Teyvat) but since it’s been handed by Celestia it can also represent that Venti is a chained soldier under the will of Celestia.

    The analysis is amazing for each Anemo and the god of Anemo. The concept of having freedom is to choose for yourself to achieve a certain goal. I see these Anemo users having their own type of freedom, which is free from the chains of responsibilities, free from choosing whoever you want to be, etc. In the Philosophy of freedom, one of its types is Metaphysical freedom which means the power to choose among "genuine alternatives" (acting independently
    of prior causal factors). The following are the views of freedom IMO:
    Determinism is the belief that all human behaviors flow from genetic or environmental factors, which means freedom is an illusion because of the events that are happening around you. It asserts that man may have circumstantial
    freedom, but he does not have metaphysical freedom.
    Libertarianism is a philosophical view that believes that human actions are "freely chosen", it is usually better to give people more free choice because the concept of determinism does not fit because of influence to relatives, people that teach you, culture, etc. which also means free will was blocked by a higher authority.
    Compatibilism is a philosophical view that believes that free will and
    determinism is compatible ideas and that it is possible to believe in both without
    being logically inconsistent. It's like you doubt something from what is bound to happen in the future, it's more like you have free will, but you also focus on determinism for you to judge what can be the right choice.
    Venti, having the conception of carrying the freedom from his friend and escaping from all responsibilities in Celestia is like he is an escapee of Libertarianism and wants to seek what's outside of Celestia. Other Anemo users like Kazuha, Sayu are also libertarianism escapees. Xiao can be a determinism IMO, Jean can be focusing on compatibilism, Sucrose... maybe compatibilism also IMO. So yeah, really long to read but I hope this helps in the philosophy of freedom through views.

    Somehow with how the anemo characters view their freedom, they seem to have a commun point that, ultimately, true freedom can be translated to loneliness. Freedom to sing ballads, but , by doing so, being constantly reminded of what he have lost. Protecting people as you see fit from everything and even at the cost of protecting them from himself. Being so passionate about a projet you end up caring alone and dive in so much in it, may or may be not to numbing the feeling of being left alone. Bearing so much responsibilities alone while being content and confortable and not thinking an instant the heavy burden and expectations she insist caring alone. Freedom to roam the world, with no oppression and nothing bounding him, while having no place to call home, or people to call family. Freedom in sleep form, nothing is more lonelier than than this, but is it better to be awake with the reality that her master left her without a word or numb this loneliness away in her sleep? Not to mention she probably mistook her advise of "growing up" physically with "growing up" mentally so she could stand and live on her own. And sleeps away every moment since her master is gone. At least it’s my point of view of it. Not to mention they all without exception have experienced a lost at some point before and after obtaining their vision, can be a person, a legacy or something else.
    I’d like if you could do analysis about other elements (electro and cryo will be very interesting). Also my gf mentioned that hydro while being justice could be tied with obsession, Mona being the exception of this theory though…

      Freedom means many different things to many different people.
      In Decarabian’s case, he espoused freedom from disorder and the the outside world and closed off Old Mondstadt. The Nameless Bard, in return, espoused freedom from oppression and allowed the birds back into the domain of the wider skies.
      That idea of ‘freedom from oppression’ comes up in every Anemo character since, whether that oppression comes in the form of trauma or enduring sacrifice. To know true freedom is to know a world deprived of it.

    • @myvstz
      @myvstz 2 года назад

      @@sonbulan1425 Actually, Decarabian isn't at all connected to Freedom. He's the God of Storms, which is why storms engulfed Ancient Mondstadt. Barbatos had always the same form of freedom; freedom of Expression and Emotions.
      So lore-wise, I don't think Decarabian is at all connected to this but at the same time he does but I do like the analysis :D

    LMAO. I got Xiao's miscelleny as an ad on the part where you talked about Xiao. 🤣🤣
    Anyways, i've binge-watched your vids now, and im enjoying them. Specially these vision elements and what they embody. Im especially excited for cryo. It's a... There is that feeling of connection with it. Or maybe it really is just my rng luck that got me all the cryo characters and that they are the ones i really enjoy playing. It's an element i never expected to "be" as i've always chosen fire for my element in games where i can choose mine. And the fact that even in Genshin, i could've chosen to be a Bennett main (got him before Noelle at AR7), or give Amber a build that suits me - but i ended up playing Kaeya a lot (tho i do love his character so much too, anyways) but Pyro has always seem to be the "better" element. Specially when it makes the better damage numbers when it interacts with other elements. Somehow im "stuck" with Cryo. So cryo is pretty special to me. 😅 Anyways, i've noticed that cryo seems to embody contradiction. Specially when Shenhe was released and she too is a contradiction of being mistaken as an adeptus but is actually human, or rather, the only mortal who grew up among the adeptus. It made me feel that that is what cryo is about. But idk if you think the same, but im excited to hear what your thoughts about it are. And what your thoughts about each of the cryo characters.
    Anyways, thank you for doing all these. Tho you aren't the only one making these kinds of vids, i really enjoyed yours the most. I don't really like to watch/listen to these contents cause it feels like im spoiling the mystery of the game to myself but sometimes, one just can't help but want to really dig deep in the lore and the characters. 😅

    TL;DR
    I have a question about the vision in this game, soo far I see there is a similarities between the vision user in the same elements
    For example :-
    Cryo (inner conflict)
    Ganyu : conflict of her adeptus bloodline and her human bloodline
    Qiqi - conflict of being dead and alive
    Eula - conflict of her family names and her status as a knight
    Pyro (passion)
    Xiangling - passion of cooking
    Amber - passion of being outrider
    Hu Tao - passion of funeral parlor
    Anemo (lost a friend? Pls correct me )
    Venti - lost a friend in the old mondstadt war
    Kazuha - lost a friend to shogun
    Xiao - lost his fellow yaksha
    Geo ( enduring a test ? Again pls correct me )
    Zhongli - enduring the test of time (6000+ years of living I believe)
    Noelle - enduring all the test soo she can become a knight
    Gorou - enduring a tough life as a general of watatsumi island resistance (he basically have to survive a war)
    My question is what is the similarities shared between hydro and electro ?
    (Pls correct me if I'm wrong lol )

    • @ChillwithAster
      @ChillwithAster  2 года назад

      Hydro, in my opinion, follows the concept of a character's laws. I'll cover this in my next video about Hydro and the Concept of Justice maybe this week, but basically, each character in Hydro follows a strict set of personal morals and standards that is usually unwavering. For example, (in my own words) tartaglia has his ideal of protection, xingqiu is chivalry, mona is discipline, barbara is religion, and kokomi is principle.

    • @arandomperson5707
      @arandomperson5707 2 года назад

      @@ChillwithAster Nice, hydro being related to someone law Is a good idea ! Cannot wait for the hydro and electro one because I reall curious about the electro one. Maybe the electro is about a will of someone. For example, Beidou will to slain haishan and Keqing will to see Liyue Harbor thrive without the help of archon and adeptus.

    Yep out of all the elements I think traveller fits Anemo most. When you think of a traveller you think of someone always moving, never in one place for long, just like how the travellers move from nation to nation, world to world. Like the wind. They do whatever they want and use the elements freely. The travellers are not bound to Teyvat. Personality wise they are also quite laid back and easy going if you look at they’re voice lines, teasing Paimon and all.

    It may have been on a significantly smaller scale, but this is pretty close to Sucrose's story. Freedom is having the right to choose, in my opinion. Being truly free is having the ability to choose what you want to do.
    When it starts to harm people, it is no longer freedom. Having freedom does not mean freedom from the consequences of your actions, and Venti seems to know that. You achieve true freedom when your heart is st ease, and you don't have to do or feel anything for anyone and anything. It's the feeling of lightness in your chest and the wind on your shoulders, almost like you can fly. It's the feeling of not being commited or tied to anything.
    But with freedom, comes loneliness. You are free to do what you want, go where you want to and feel what you want. But once you start talking to others, you get influenced by them. You start to feel attached to them, which is the complete opposite of freedom.
    I think Venti feels this loneliness pretty often.

    Freedom is eternal sleep.
    To not be bound by the wrinkles laced on your face from contrived emotion.
    Freedom is, to not think.
    To not stay up at the witching hour with haunting thoughts left in your brain, that you cannot act upon.
    Freedom is apathetic towards your suffering and happiness.
    To no longer be bound by the things that weave your skin with patches of black, which are darker than night, nor the faulty happiness,
    you have brought your self to believe won't come crushing down in one second.
    Freedom is to no long feel as the darkness around you,
    lays it's cold body on your eyes,
    and pulls you into the abyssal asleep, leaving you without an ounce of fear as you fall peacefully within it.
    So what is freedom?
    Freedom is something that never existed , but once you lose the ability to think, act, and feel.
    You are no longer bound by the illusion of free choice you mistakenly believed you had.
    That is freedom
    - By me a sleep deprived person ☕
