Venti is the only archon with a literal cathedral built to worship him.
So far. Form of worship for each archon takes after the culture each nation has been based on too.

Oh definitely the drunk act may be the butt of jokes in this fandom but anyone who has actually played the game while paying attention to the story KNOWS there's much more there
Eh, I'm not sure. Diluc mentions he looks too young to drink. So either his friend was an underage alcoholic OR the drinking is a Venti thing, and unlike Zhongli, who drinks to share memories and 'remember', I think Venti drinks to forget.
I always assumed he was a drunk because he has depression and tried to forget his problems because he seems to like drinking a little too much.
@@tobyharris4777 back when his friend was still alive there was no age to start drinking in Mondstadt. In the manga, when Venti comes back to save Venessa, he was denied access to a tavern because he looks underage. He said he was sure there wasn't such an "absurd" policy the last time he visited Mondstadt. That's also why he started to ask to be paid in cider wine glasses instead of mora whenever he'd perform. Since he couldn't get to the wine, he brought the wine to him 😂
@@CantRead1 depression might be one the causes, but it could very well be an act too, to make people not suspect him of being the noble and almighty Barbatos, or to make other powerful beings don't think of him as a threat anymore.
We don't know the details, but Alice said that Venti's laid back attitude and invite to feast and celebrate were what made the Witches step back from attacking him.
Even Neuvillette doesn't have the heart to treat him as harshly as he initially wanted to when he learned that Barbatos is a drunkard. Meaning that if it's an act, then it's wonderfully working.
And more than everything else... he likes wine. Like, REALLY. I've seen drunkards, and the way his character is depicted isn't the pathologic nor depressive drinker character, but the passionate drinker one.
Even down to his food, his preferred meal is an APPLE.... The same thing that's used to create his favorite wine: cider
Venti has been my favorite character in any medium for almost 4 years now and I can confirm he is ABSOLUTELY sus. He didn’t just go to sleep for 500 years because he needed a nap after the archon war… he knew the world needed time to heal from his existence as it started a new era 😵💫
That is a very interesting take on his absence, I never thought about it like that. Maybe he really was giving them space not just being lazy.

@@SakuChoconutno. He is poisoned during his attempts to heal Dvalin in Whispering Woods due to Traveler & Paimon interruption (That's why we owe him a deed at Cathedral)
We still don't know what he sleeps a lot. He sleeps so often (like in the beginning of Manhua or he only woke up during Cataclysm) BUT the trend of him waking up always in a time that needs his intervention & dangerous situation.
The fact that Venti is not sleeping right now means a threat is still ongoing in Mondstadt/ Teyvat
1. If you read venti’s “more about venti : IV”
He straight up lied to us saying he’s not sure if he can fly high enough to celestial, but then proceed to say the water there taste foul and the fruit is bland. So how the hell does he know whats’s up there if he’s not related or been to celestial at all.
2. Wind Glider + Faith as archon power
- Nahida said the stronger the faith the powerful the archon.
- iirc there’s an NPC at sumeru told us about how his friend tried to create a fake wind glider, he said :
“ to fly a wind glider, one must sing prayers to the anemo archon to get his blessing for the wing to work, much to his friend demise, his wind glider never soar in the sky as such he tried to challenge the wind god”
- so if we do math, almost everyone in teyvat can fly, and the fact in every region Venti has devoted followers left and right speaks volume of his full potential. ( can’t say hes the MOST powerful archon coz ZL and Neuvillete but he’s up there on their level)
3. Venti’s statute

- Also the mystery of the creepy upside down statue ( Why specifically Anemo Archon? )

- Listen, how strong is he when he can replay the exact voice and imagery to thousands of mondtaters during the wind bloom festival?
- He basically have a connection to irminsul too coz even with Nahida, only when we were in the irminsul realm can we see Wanderer’s past memories etc. But venti? Snaps a finger and everyone can enjoy the nostalgia.
K that’s all from me. Fun fact, I used to hate him (low ar coz i hate fighting Dvalin, and thought he’s lazy around making us do the works. Lmao) , later he became my comfort character because he always care for his nation and also fellow anemo visions.
Also fun fact, it was Venti who also saved Thoma guiding him to Inazuma. I remember he told us “ My ship was wrecked under the strong storm but luckily ‘the wind’ brought me to this Island saving my life” - not 100% what he said but it’s there iirc.

I love the anaylsis! I didnt even remember that about Thoma, and what you pointed out about the sumeru guy trying to make a wind glider, new info to me. Thats why i love when you guys share in the comments because we expand each others knowledge of this vast game world. People like to say that the Genshin community is hyper toxic, but like to think we are some of the smartest instead.

If the faith thing is true that would make him stronger than zhongli, which would be very interesting to me and maybe that's why zhongli respects him so much. since neuvillete is most recent we actually get to see feats but later on maybe we'll see how powerful venti and zhongli end up in endgame. Venti not having a part 2 yet is quite interesting as well

In my opinion, whoever thinks Venti is not sus by now, hasn't been paying attention.
I have a crackpot theory about him having powers nothing short of the scale Irminsul operates. Otherwise the hexerzirkel wouldn't care to challenge him at all.
Exactly right!? Venti is always being such a character like proudly telling everyone at the irodori festival that he was too busy holding two glasses of wine to keep a hold of his ticket for entry into the nation and then after can be found whispering with Yae about something that he won't tell you.
All the rest of Archons seem to know is he drinks alot but yet he's one of the thousand winds. That makes him closely connected to the shade of time.

It was also mentioned (I forgot where I read it) that Venti knows about the past, present, and future because he knows every song that was created and will be created.
Yeah, I almost included that line in the script but I decided it was alot already lol, but he said it in the Mondstadt archon quests. Since so many of his songs, even to a small degree reflect real events then to some degree he knows the future. That's massive I think
Also the fact that songs are also used as a way to store information out of the irminsuls reach.

He and Zhongli have an interesting relationship for being the last OG Archons. Last Lantern rite was so funny because of that.

@@theunlikelygenshingamer I would like to add that in the Japanese interview during last Lantern Rite, Japanese Venti VA said usually when they get the script, they are free to voice act the way they think the characters would act.
But only during the last lantern rite, the voice directors were really strict with how Venti VA should voice their lines, even retaking the voice lines because it didn’t sound like they wanted when talking to Zhongli that even Venti VA was sus about it 👀
to be fair, he didn't really fight in the archon war, he got the seat only because Andrius didn't want it
nevertheless, I'm pretty sure he deliberately tries to keep up his harmless appearance for as long as possible, and I really wonder what he's aiming for
The funniest thing about all of this is my dad, who is new to Genshin. He's playing through Mondstadt right now and even he can tell that the Anemo Archon is far stronger than Genshin or Venti himself lets on. He's also an author so he's picking up on all the suble storytelling a regular player would miss out on. Can't wait until he gets to the first interlude quest!

I find it interesting that Venti doesn’t use his powers very often. Feat wise he very well could be considered the weakest just because he’s storing his power for something else the same way focalor did. I can’t imagine the god of freedom would be okay with what celestial is doing and as one of the oldest beings into that, he’s had a very long time to make and implement a plan.
Also in his signature dish, it mentioned changing fate for the better, I don’t know what he’s doing, but he’s doing something
I didnt even catch that about his signature dish. Focalors really showed us that the archons if they have put their minds to something and can engineer a method to accumulate the power, can be very very formidable.
If venti is planning something like she did (hopefully it doesnt include sacrificing himself) then folks better watch out.

The upside down statue.... thats the part that keeps me up at night. Like out of ALL the Archons, why is it his is the only one we've seen used like that? Not to mention it's connection to the sinner. Like what was up with that???

Ik and Venti himself said that when we first saw him and he was consoling Dvalin, when the traveller scare dvalin away, Venti got some of the abyss thing into his blood. Basically the same thing that corrupted dvalin. That’s kinda the whole reason we defeated dvalin. Venti wanted us to repay him for the corruption. (Also sorry about the blurriness of this comment. I forget the specifics of the Mondstadt archon quest bc it was so long ago 😭)
Well the reason it was an Anemo statue was because the Abyss managed to steal it…. But the fact they even did it…. I think Venti permitted it… What if Venti is actually helping Khanrey’ah overthrow Celestia? And will only go against them if they attempt to go against humanity? Perhaps he wants to give hope to Khanrey’ahs….. including Dainslief and the Sibling

There are also mentions of Barbatos in some weird places, like somewhere in the Chasm I found a note saying something like "Only Barbatos can save us", and also Sumeru's glider description states that every person who wants to use wind glider in Teyvat needs to pray to Barbatos first. Not to mention the connections to the Istaroth, one of the shades of Primordial One...

@@user-rj5hz2ct6xthis is true because it was stated in the 2.8 event that Venti chopped off the peaks of the Mondstadt mountains to make them look cleaner then just threw them into the ocean. Which made the GAA. Kinda crazy when you think about it.

Also there’s another thing to consider. I don’t remember where I found it but there was something called the “Dandelion Sea”, and for as weird as it may seem…. Doesn’t it sound a bit like the Primordial Sea or the Dark Sea between Inazuma and Sumeru?
My speculation is that the “Dandelion Sea” could be an area filled with pure anemo energy, a place where perhaps the Anemo Soveryn or Dvalin would be….. which by that logic would mean that Venti is connected to that place.
I also find it curious that venti, at the end of mondstadt's archon quest, said: "may the wind protect your travels" or something to that extent. And after we left:
Xiao saved us in Liyue when falling from the Jade Chamber.
(Xiao saved us AGAIN in the interlude chasm quest with yelan, yanfei, kuki and itto.)
Kazuha saved us from the Raiden Shogun's Musou no Hitotashi in Inazuma.
Wanderer saved us from the puppet's attack in Sumeru.
Fontaine is an exception, yes, but remember we haven't gotten the next part for the Dainsleif questline yet.
And if you ask me - those 3 (4, technically) saves are unlikely to *just* have happened to all be of someone weilding anemo.

We are due for a Furina rerun/character 2 quest, and Arlechino release, the latter of which means relation ties to Lynney... and anemo Lynette.
Another note on Alice! Barbara mentions in one of her voicelines ("More About Barbara 3") that Alice taught her not only what an idol, in the musical sense, is, but also that idols "should always try to heal the soul of the people"! A very "idol fan from our world" mindset to have!
Also the fact that her name is Alice, and all of the hexenzirkel members' names reference historical, mythological, or storybook figures- and who's the first to come to mind when reading that name? Most likely Alice in Wonderland- which, would you look at that, is about a girl falling into another world
Editing to add: also the hexenzirkel's tea party theme, which, yes, ties into their overall collective theme of being women of power, but also could be another nod to Alice in Wonderland- after all, the Mad Hatter had his everlasting tea party
And I don't have the braincells for this right now, but also, something something, Alice pyro mage, pyro = red, Alice in Wonderland has the Red Queen
Good catch! Also when I was researching footage for the video I realized that she told them in the golden apple archipelago event that the island is named after a set of island in a story from a other land that grew golden apples.
That story would be the German play that has been inspiring many things in this game. The Alberich name is from it, Nibelung, the ring that Alberich sent his son to steal from the Rhinedottirs. There is something special about that story and Alice knows it. She is very suspicious as well.
Not to mention that Albedo said that Alice taught him about the concept of "Copyright" in order to protect the ownership rights to his paintings.

All i can say on this is that Venti HATES Celestia, because they are TYRANTS just like Decarabian was.
Celestia forced the seven to destroy khaenri'ah and cursed the survivers.
So Venti will be on the side that wants to overthrone Celestia. So basically every organisation in teyvat.
I love Venti's character so much, I definitely think he is lying about his strength. My new goal is to get his constellations and build DPS Venti to make him lore accurate lmaooo
I will admit that I have Venti sitting in my account not built, but if you want lore accurate Venti he does need some power behind him because that seeming carefree bard is up to something. 😁

To add to the theory, he even doesn’t hold the original holy lyre and holds a fake one just because he is “too lazy to bring a normal lyre”. Maybe he would unleash his full power once he has the Holy Lyre der Himmel by his side 😳

I 1000% do not think Venti is telling us even a fraction of what he knows, but I truly think based on his ideals and the actions we have seen him taking, he wants to move the power of choosing the fate of teyvat from the heavens into the hands of the people living on Teyvat
There is something he and Zhongli saw int he Cataclysm that soured them both to Celestia, enough for Venti to let Signora take his gnosis with no actual fight and for Zhongli to sign a "contract to end all contracts" with her.
It is very intriguing to me that the Archon of freedom doesn't seem to be doing anything about the liberties of the people that are locked away from them, unless he really is doing something behind the scenes, like Focalors or like Zhongli.
venti is a character who has been against celestia since the very beginning, long before the events of the cataclysm - in the manhua recounting when he met vennessa, she asks about celestia to him at one point and he reacts with obvious discomfort, imagining three ominous figures. a lot of the exact timelines of events are not fully clear but it seems that hexenzirkel’s encounter with venti where he essentially told them to keep their planning on the downlow because celestia is always watching and thus him joining their get-togethers (which. i fully believe were not just them chatting abt random things) happened before the cataclysm too. now, i’m not entirely sure about him meticulously planning something big himself but he certainly has some kind of aspirations for a true rebellion against celestia (thinking abt that time near the end of the irodori festival event where you can try to eavesdrop on venti and miko ‘having an intense discussion’ or somethinf along those lines where once you get close it just seems they’re talking abt wine but could have been actually talking abt something else, venti’s line abt furina and him having full faith in the fact that anyone, not just a god, could defy fate and topple celestia, etc etc)
one thing i will say is that people spend too much time speculating on “how powerful venti truly is” - like for sure he was obviously letting signora take his gnosis, but man the way this just all leads into weird powerscaling discussions is Not the point lmao
moundstads has, vanessa, a vision wielder who asceded, has varkas the most beloved character of the region and absolutely everyone respect him, has the hexzenzirkel who has the most powerful witchies of teyvat and in the feet of venti statue you can read backwards "the gateway of celestia".... moundstads is packed with untold lore....
YES! it so is just waiting for all the unfinished plot points to just get there turn to shine and develop. I really cant wait till we get more lore about this place.

I got a crush on Venti for his pretty boy appearance and lackadaisical attitude
I fell in love with him because of all the hints that point he's going to be a massive piece in the future of the game; no, not even a piece, he's going to be a player!
One thing is that story from mondstadt is only a prologue (we'll probably go back there after sneznaya)
Another is that venti literally said he knows all the songs from past, present and future. Songs are sometimes written about the happening events, so I have no doubt that he has heard a song or 2 about future event. This could also mean he has some sort of connection to irminsal (knowing that it, similarly to songs, has the story of teyvat written inside). This last point could be a stretch though ...
Wind having a connection to Irminsul is totally believable, it's becoming clear that each element is connected in some sort of way but I think Anemo, especially because wind and time are apparently intertwined is special like Dendro.
Nicole is not immune to Irminsul changes, she just is aware when something change.

Yes, yes, yes!!! Venti is indeed hiding something and I realized this a while ago.
There is also the theory that says that when archons are using their powers, their hair lights up, you can check it during their bursts and other cutscenes in the game. But when Signora was going to take his Gnosis, his hair didn't light up, so most likely he was just faking using his power.

YES! I so agree with this. His hair absolutely wasnt glowing and its been shown as a pretty solid indicator of when an archon is actually using their power. Even in the manga , it glows. So he so badly wasn't even trying its almost embarrassing for the Signora. Everyone seems to be finding discreet ways to get out of housing their gnosis.
this brings to mind an idea-well, a question, really, after watching ashikai's theory video on the gnosis (gnosi?) in how they were all individual king pieces in a bunch of different chess sets, and i wondered for a while what their respective sets would be then (you know, knights, rooks, bishops, pawns, queen?). And then it kinda dawned on me that practically all the archons have some kind of immortal "court," as it were. Zhongli's and the Tzaritsa's are most obvious with the Adepti and Fatui respectively. Nahida's was supposed to be the Akedimya, but her court turned on her, which is why she's so weak; a queen cannot rule without her court. Ei is an interesting case, because she was never the "King piece"--that was Makoto, while Ei was her "Queen," which is why Ei is still massively powerful, but idt she can really be considered an Archon, and may not consider herself an Archon.
Tying it back here, I wondered for a bit what Venti's court pieces were, and then remembered his ties to the hexenzirkel, and it just clicked that they are his court. to what end, we don't know, and likely won't know until the final chapters of genshin, but from what it seems, he looks to consider women of great power, curiosity, and resentment towards celestia for his zirkel, and each of them seem to have ties to both the modern seven nations, AND the past empires of teyvat.
Alice seems to have ties to sumeru, if dory's story is to be believed; rhinesdotter has ties to kaehnri'ia; i'm pretty sure nicole has some kind of past with enkonimiya; and i have a serious theory that ivanova had ties to remuria (which, yes, is pure thumb tacks and strings territory, given how little we know of her, but i'm like 65% certain that she's based on medea of greek mythology, who was the wife of jason of the argonaughts (who furthermore, might be mixed with a few other mythohistorical figures to make parisfal in genshin, and may also have ties to childe, but tangent), high preistess of hecete--goddess of WITCHCRAFT, and grandaughter of helios, whose most famous scene involves her borrowing he grandfather's SUN CHARIOT to ride off in after telling her husband why he sucks, and why she ruined his life (one of the few things we know about ivanova was she fell in love with a man and later killed him, which rather nicely falls in line); and remus had a golden chariot, and finally, the original russian empire was founded upon the ruins of the roman empire, named after romulus, who had a twin named remus.) i don't really have anything for anderdotter, sadly, but i'm sure there's something that'll come up.
if all this is in anyway true, then it may mean venti, as "king" of the hexenzirkel may be playing all sides in the upcoming conflict, as well as possibly trying to override the rules of teyvat entirely, given the obsession of the zirkel is to crack irminsil; what rules are in place, hos to bend them, and eventually, possibly how to break them.
so yes, venti is very likely the single most powerful being in all teyvat. traveler and celestia should watch out.
Wow! Now that was some food for thought. I like the idea of the individual courts and if it were the witches that would be very interesting. Because even besides the hexenzirkel it seems as though the theme of witches runs in Mondstadt because we also have Lisa, very powerful but now cautious witch and Rosalyn the Crimson Witch before she went mad with grief.

Mondstadt as a whole is sus, Venti, the witches and any of their living relatives, Kaeya, and a certain girl who so far as i know is only none archon that for whatever reason has a name straight from Ars Goatia and whose theme predates and is that of the Fatui despite not being officially connected.
I've thought a lot about how it's odd how little Mondstadt and some of its characters are developed with quests be it hangouts or much more major ones, especially for having been in the game so long and the simplest answer I come back to is none of it can be expanded on too soon, a lot of it likely won't come into play until the final chapters.
When you were talking about Alice being aware of earth, it reminded me of something very weird Venti said in the genshin manga.
In the episode 2 of the "prologue: songs of the wind", while he was talking to Vennessa when she was going to Celestia he said:
"In other distant worlds... Pangu gave his blood to form rivers and seas... The gods sacrificed Purusha and cut his body to pieces... And then fashioned al living beings with those parts. The brain of giant Ymir became clouds. Their sacrifices seeded life in the unliving cosmos. These songs sing of the primeval ones."
All of this are histories of earth, not teyvat, so how could he know about them?
I was thinking about those alot after going through the manga for the Diluc video and I realized that not only was he telling Vennessa reasons why it isn't that desirable to be come a god but also that is knowledge he shouldn't have. 🤔

I first liked venti because I just love characters who appears to be laid back but does everything behind the scene. Then I truly love venti as a character because he treasures his children so much! He's sus indeed, but is also really sweet. He literally wanted to heal the world after the archon war. He sang until his songs reached dvalin and morax. And maybe, the traveler too...
So yeah, I still think that the one summoned the traveler was venti. I have this long time crack theory that the humanity will overthrow celestia successfully under barbatos's wings and mondstadt in the lead. Not snezhnaya and the tsaritsa. Because why not? Mondstadt already won 2 rebellions. Third time is the charm!
Actually one of the BIGGEST foreshadowing sus things that venti says in his FIRST voice over line "hello" where he says "we meet again!, huh you dont remember me?, allow me to join you once again"
Which means that a) he's playing with us b) The travellers memories HAVE been radically reset (time shift?) or altered by something that we have NO idea about.
I didn't even remember that! But your right? What if he's referring to what he was essentially telling us in the battle pass cutscene? That video was what started me on this RUclips journey and it's been a wild ride but I still believe something fishy is going on with that message in that trailer. I mean, Venti is the only archon who has an entire organized religion around himself, complete with an entire priesthood dedicated to him, a massive cathedral and giant statues built in his honor. None of the other archons has anything remotely like that. Ironically, given that Barbatos is a god of freedom, none of the other archons seems to enjoy the same level of dedication and religious zeal from their followers. Of all the archons, Barbatos is the one who most closely resembles what we would call a god. Not to mention that Mondstadt is the only region of Teyvat that appears to be entirely clear of corruption, and is all around the most safe and 'pure' place in Teyvat. Even Liyue, which is ruled by Morax, the oldest of the archons, still has to deal with the lingering legacy of the Archon War. Mondstadt appears to be the only region where all form of competition and threat to the archon's position of power is entirely stamped out. And finally, Barbatos is mentioned to have literally created Mondstadt, flattening mountains, creating islands and generally shaping both its landscape and artificially controlling its climate. Morax is the only other archon to have displayed any similar levels of power to that.
Also, as mentioned, Venti's gnosis being the most significant and powerful chess piece is something that was definitely not done as a coincidence.
So yeah, I definitely think he is more powerful than he lets on. One does not get to be one of the oldest archons and emerge victorious from the Archon War by being weak. And while Venti is an all-around very kind and likeable person and I have no doubt that he has good intentions, he is nonetheless easily the most deceitful archon we have met. He outright lies to us several times, always seems to be scheming something when you meet him, is extremely adept at manipulating people and seemingly knows more than any other archon (including having knowledge of the future and of our Earth's history and myths) yet evades any form of question.
In other words, Venti is waaaay too sus to not be up to something. Something that we are not allowed to know of, but that he will undoubtedly manipulate us into becoming a part of. The Hexenzirkel and their involvement only serves to make it even more suspicious.
And that is before going into Venti's connections to Istaroth, which adds an entire other layer to the enigma that is Venti. None of the other archons is this level of mysterious, enigmatic or suspicious.
I'll just leave a detail: when the whole Dvalin affair is concluded, and the dragon himself saves us all, Venti gifts him something. I believe that something - given the developements in Fontaine - is easy to understand now.

@@ErThAe interesting, Neuvillette and Focalors only worked because she was destroying the actual seat in Celestia. Its a gigantic affair and I don't think any archon can do so lightly. That's why she had to go to such lengths to keep it out of the record so they couldn't stop her. I don't think an archon of an element and their corresponding dragon at full strength can exist at the same time.
But I do wonder if he couldn't have given him the dragon authority what did he give him... 🤔
@@theunlikelygenshingamer i believe that the whole point of taking down the throne was to prevent the existence of any further iteration of an "hydro archon" as in a deified being that could act as recipient of that portion of authority that belonged to the dragons of old. Without a "next in line" for the succession, the power flowed back to where it originally belonged, and that gives us the full-power Neuvillette. We do not know what exactly entailed the destruction of the throne, given that the gnosis and the authority were both preserved, and only Focalors lost her life. However, I believe that archons still would have the power to pass their authority: as far as we know, the succession of the twins in Inazuma did entail a level of forbidden and yet a succession there was. Rukkhadevata too chose whom to entrust the authority to, and same passed with Egeria. If archons lacked the actual means to "pass" their power, we'd have to suppose that every time an archon has died their authority flew back to Celestia where they then selected a new candidate which casually coincided with the desiderata of the dead archon. Not to mention that where things to be like this, for a portion of time, Teyvat would effectively be deprived of basically the vast majority of the authority over an element, and who knows what could happen
also worth noting Davalin and venti are both older, or it's possible that venti just marked Davalin to receive of the authority when it passes on from him. A lot of unknowns here.
I actually noticed quite a while ago that Venti tends to speak in rhyme when he's trying to convey a hidden message. Besides that, didn't a certain someone's flippant behavior remind you of him just before the Fontaine release? Yep, I'm talking about Furina. She put on the performance of basically having multiple personalities for 500 years just so Focalors could bide her time for her own execution, hand over the hydro gnosis to Neuvillette, and essentially tip the balance of power. I'm going to wager a guess that Venti's been planning something similar since the Cataclysm, but he needs to be more careful because of his direct connection to Celestia.
In any case, I'm actually rooting for him. As mischievous and sus as the guy is, he probably could have done some serious damage on behalf of the Abyss or Celestia if he wanted to. This tells me that he's actually "floating around" (lol sorry, can't resist) in middle ground, and considering his attatchment to Dvalin...that middle ground likely has to do with the Dragon Sovereigns.
"Dvalin isn't a Sovereign!" True, it's never been confirmed. But think for a moment: do you remember that scene right after our fight with Stormterror? Venti gives Dvalin, in the dragon's words, "The power of the Anemo Archon." It's worth mentioning that as a wind spirit, Venti already had his own abilities and, with enough prayer, probably doesn't even need a gnosis to focus his power. So, it likely would have been a piece of cake for him to use his own power to extract the power from his gnosis, therefore transferring it to Dvalin. While he still had the physical gnosis, who's to say it wasn't as good as an empty shell by the time Signora got her hands on it?

Venti is definitely the biggest sus character in the game. I'm really excited for the next update since the rumours from the leaks says that there will be some sort of festival in Mondstadt. Maybe we'll know a bit more of the future of Mondstadt and the Hexenzirkel.

Yes he is sus just look at those female characters reacting on strong winds.
The older the being in Teyvat, the more sus it is. And there are very few living lifeforms on Teyvat as old as Barbatos & Morax.
In my opinion, I think it might be both. Like yes, he's acting, he's definitely not as weak as he says, he has a big cult not only by his church but also his nation prays to him often and throws festivals in his name, he has very subtle but strong as hell powers, he's hiding juicy secrets, he has the Hexenzirkel witches in his pocket, and he has to have some hidden agenda and responsibilities, moving strings to an end we don't know about. Mondstadt is so far also one of the few nations (unless the overdue expansion has a surprise) without god residue pollution problems from old gods or consecrated beasts, the closest being Durin's poisonous corpse freezing in Dragonspine which seems under control and is quite recent. I think Nahida ("weak" but with world breaking abilities) and Furina (performing a role, musically inclined) are some parallels to Venti's bullshit as well. But at the same time, do I think his good silly boy and benevolent god facade are fake? No, I do not, I think Venti does care deeply about his people (he calling and considering Mondstaters his children) and loves humanity as a whole. Even if he's up to no good in the plot in the end, I can't see him as an antagonist figure for shock value like a lot of lore peeps theorize. If he does or has done something bad, I can see him as someone morally gray at worst. He might have a lot of characteristics for a trickster, but he strikes me as chaotic good so far. In all the limited events Venti has been a part of, his role has been as the catalyst making sure the plot unfolds and leading characters to where they should go. Like he says himself ad nauseum, "seeds of stories brought by the wind and cultivated by time." It's NEVER a coincidence when Venti shows up in an event, and he always ends up helping both playable characters and NPCs.
There's also his mysterious origins we need to talk about. He's described as "born from the branches of time" on his demo and said to be a "a single thread of the thousand winds" in his character stories. You know who was called the Thousand Winds? Istaroth, the shade of time. Who also had a cult in Mondstadt at some point at the same time as Barbatos, according to the sacrificial weapons lore, both being worshipped, until people somehow forgot about her. Istaroth herself is a separate can of worms, but the fact is that Venti and the rest of the Thousand Winds are deeply related to her. Was he created/blessed/cursed by the Shade as a special being more divine from the rest with a mission? Or did he just evolve among his brethren naturally? Could be be Istaroth's successor or avatar a la Rukkhadevata and Nahida as branches of Irminsul, instead of her child? We don't see other wind sprites like Venti's old form, so it makes me wonder if he was the only one who could materialize like that or if they're just hidden to sight. Regardless, he has a more Celestia-adjacent origin than the other archons (lol nepotism, he's technically part of Phanes' mythological family tree), and yet he seems to be quite wary and not fond of Celestia so we can't say he's aligned with them. But it's interesting that there's a link at all.
Next, there's something quite interesting about Venti's powers and it's the fact that he knows all the names of the Thousand Winds and has poems and songs to summon them individually, which is nutty. The Skyward Atlas is a book that "consists of 100,000 odes, each dedicated to a single cloud or wind and calling it by name"! Kinda sounds like the Ars Goetia, huh? So he can control or just ask for the help of the other winds, and I'm sure that's how Mondstadt's weather remains perfect and the harvests are bountiful even when Venti sleeps for centuries or isn't around. It might not look as impressive as cutting giant snakes in half, and there's a lot of delegating going on for sure, but the winds are really important in Mondstadt's existence and peace. Even the local lore says they deliver messages in dandelion seeds, and they believe souls are carried by the winds when they die, which makes Mare Jivari such a scary place for Monsdstater adventurers. So Barbatos could also be a psychopomps, myth wise. Aranaras consider the winds a bad thing though as it causes erosion, and to plant people like them that phenomenon is terrible indeed.
And last but not least, the reason why the original Seven were friends was because of Barbatos gathering them together, just in a similar fashion to how he planted the idea of tea parties for the witches. The way he was able to keep peace between these massive powers with his cheerful, friendly demeanor is not to be understated. If in the end Dvalin ends up being a descendant or reincarnation of the anemo sovereign it would be so funny and cute and... kind of alarming too lol. But yeah, anyway, I loved your video and it even made me realize of a couple of things (namely the whole sussy soothing music thing, never thought about that even if Xiao's lore lives rent free in my head). one of the more interesting things, in my opinion, about venti being intrinsically part of a collective, is that his strength cannot be measured truly on it's own- the thousand winds would not be the thousand winds if they were missing even a single member, so even if venti isn't lying and his own personal power is weak, well, he's got 999 backups, with the same ties to one of the highest authorities in teyvat as he does. I also think, similarly, that the thousand winds are not one singular, super-powerful god for a reason- they act as messengers and probably psychopomps as well. even operating outside of time like the thousand winds do, it would be insanely hard to gather all the information and do all the work they do as a singular person. but following these lines of theory, with the thousand winds being an inherent collective and having a specific, intentional reason for not being a singular 'wind' you can assume that acting together for a singular goal with the same level of internal cooperation as an individual, they would be easily as strong as their role as the servants/children(?) of one of the four shades would imply. this wouldn't ordinarily happen- the winds seem to have always represented freedom in some way, as all three candidates play heavily off that theme, but with a unifier (aka istaroth or now, in her general absence, venti) they are easily insanely powerful and knowledgeable.
basically, I don't think venti is lying about being the weakest among the seven, after all, his base form is still that of a somewhat ordinary wind spirit, just that he's excluding some very, very vital information when it comes to 'power scaling' him.
plus, he seems to heavily encourage people to sing about their day-to-day lives and woes- that's kinda really suspicious for someone who canonically knows every song that will ever be written :/
He clearly said himself that he took on the appearance and ways of his bard friend to roam the world and play songs and in every story we know that the most powerful people in the world are that those retire to do simple things like farming and traveling or becoming a bard acting careless and carefree just like thanos farming and many others all powerful characters living simple life in small village or something lol and most sus of them are the observers who travel to places and play songs. he let all that stormterror thing drag on just because he wants mondstat to take care of it itself when he could do it in seconds. We still don't know what barbatos himself is like. we do know for a fact that he is a gentle wind spirit but yeah he is definitely not simple we don't know how many layers he has lol. Definitely he is one of the most favourite characters in the game for me.
Venti is definitely a huge player in Teyvat’s history. He doesn’t tell us really anything, or the things he does tell us are lies or half truths. It’s so clear that he has such a big role in the story, not only because Hoyo is keeping his second story questy in the basement but he was the first limited five star. His role in most events has been always been on the sidelines, just observing and delivering some witty lines here and there. I could talk about Venti for hours because there’s so much to this lil bard boy! 💚
3 things:
1) I wonder if venti had a similar plan to focalors where he was asleep not because he was lazy or recovering, but to compound his power in order to give davalin back his throne. At the end of the archon quest in act 1 he gives davalin a blessing maybe his sharing the archon power with him since he was unable to destroy the throne.
2) Ashikai's latest video about visions details how illumination works and I wonder rather than sleeping, venti was training to grow his power. Its a large component in supernatural martial art stories that the hero needs to isolate themselves to train and grow stronger by mediating.
3) I wonder if Venti's songs serve the same function as books do and can carry information separate from irminsul. Also considering how remuria has a lot of lore with music I wonder if we'll get more information into venti before 5.0.

Talking about faith alone I think Barabatos is the only one who has followers outside of Mondstadt and no by small number.

Yes, it always bothers me that all these mages with god-like power, band together to challenge the weakest archon. It is completely nonsensical.
Right? Some one pointed out that they probably came to him because he's weakest but I don't think so. They are obviously powerful enough to not need to do that, especially as a group. And we don't even know what the other four can really do. Man, I can't wait until we get his second story quest and a Mondstadt expansion.
Even IF he really is weak, he has to have something so important for a group of witches that interest only irminsul and the truth of this world to be after him.
And I don't think the Hexenzirkel are the type of guys who would prove their strength by defeating an Archon.. Especially the "weakest" archon.

The Hexenzirkel as a coven...who had powerful members they might as well topple the Archons with the trickle truth Hoyo drop for us. The idea of these mighty witches...becoming buddy buddy with a single Archon ( I'm not sure if they showed up sometime where Barbatos was newly installed as an Archon? Or not?). I wanna know the truth. What did Venti specifically do, for them to back out from challenging him and why of all the Archons is he the only one they targeted and why did they left behind their legacy in his land? Why not the other stronger ( canonically ) Archons .

Its absurd to think that he invited them for a tea party, *play music for them* and then after all is said and well done everything just...what? They became instantly friends with him?..Hmmm...no. I don't buy it for a second.

But the question is...why? Okay, but I think destruction of Khanrei'ah is a given...but I also think that's not all of it. She's a witch. She obviously sees herself way way above other Khanreians she might as well declare herself a deity. I don't think she had an extreme attachment to Khanreiah otherwise she would have led the Abyss Order herself. ( Oh God. Hoyo, don't you dare make Gold the leader of the Abyss! ).
Anyways, she dispatched Durin to Mondstadt. But why Mondstadt again?. There are so many places in Teyvat she could have Durin dispatched to. What was she hoping Venti would do to her creation?. ( Somehow I had doubt that she wanted Durin to die because again, just dispatched the Dragon to Liyue and he'll be dead because of Zhongli. )
Was she hoping that Venti would spare Durin?, Cure ? Rehabilitate? Shelter it amidst the Catastrophe?....hmm so many glaring questions that Hoyo refuses to answer...😑

I do think Mondstadt is like next to end game at least. Even the Traveler and Paimon consider it homebase and there are too many big things going on here that have been tied up yet. I just hope we don't have to wait until the end to find out more.
Adding onto Alice being likely from Earth, there’s Dodocommunication Device from 2.8 summer event that she created. It was mentioned that the inspiration for the device came from another world. With it obviously being a phone, I think it’s pretty safe to say which world that is.
Great video! There are other hints of the power of Venti's songs: Way back in the prologue, when Venti brings DIluc up to speed on the story so far by singing him a song, clear-headed Diluc is momentarily stunned and overwhelmed, saying "...What did I just witness?!" If a mere improvised description of recent events by Venti can do that much to a character as strong-willed as Diluc, how powerful are the rest of Venti's songs?
Venti is hiding a lot and walking around without a care it seems. That's the best way to hide secrets after all, just act clueless and weak.
This is such a good video and interesting theory, Venti is my fav character and I've always sort of felt his role in the Genshin story as a whole is probably huge, the thing that really made me think that originally I think was the fact that his character theme has the Genshin title screen theme in the start of it... Also I just love that he's like 'yes I'm the weakest' and then you find out he at some point cut a mountain in half and yeeted it off to become an upside down island in the Golden Apple Archipelago, if that's weak then wtf does he consider strong? XD

I have to say, Venti is absolutely sus. Ive always found him super suspicious, especially when I heard his hello voice line for the first time. The way I see it, he has to have some type of connection to the traveler that happens before the start of the game as the way he talks to the traveler is definitely suspicious. Also, I definitely agree that it is hard to tell what side he is even on as he is clearly putting on a facade for an unknown reason.
Venti is not a hip character lately, the game hasn’t talk about him or Mondstadt for so long too.
Venti has always been a little sus. God i love him so much. I love Venti. I always have. But hes definitely hiding something big. He doesn't like Celestia we do know that for a fact. But i think it says something that except for Zhongli, that Venti and all the other archons have never actually met. But they either have respect or a fear of the other. Ae Venti with Ei or the other with Venti with Furina and Nahida. Im sure ut will be explained eventually but waiting on crumbs for my favorite boy is hard. I've been playing sinve the first windblume event. I miss gettiny lore about my best boi.

Venti's "virtue," freedom, is being practiced in his "absence." He literally could NOT be a god of freedom if he ruled over his people. We have witnessed through all his actions so far living his virtue. I think of him as a model parent: loving his child and letting them fly free, and only stepping in when there is no other choice or he is actually the best person to handle the problem. While Venti is "sus," as he is definitely hiding things, I don't think he will become an enemy of the Traveler. There's no question to me that he will be living his virtue till his dying day, and all people of Teyvat will be one day be free thanks, in part, to his actions.

Venti has always been a mystery to us all. When I first did the interlude and saw Davlin and Venti was like something something is off about this guy. He's been my favorite all time 5 star and Kaeya is my favorite 4 star. Both of them have so many potential lore hidden inside of them but the whole thing of Venti knowing the past present and future sones is a huge thing. Songs have their own hidden meaning inside all of each word and for Venti to know all of it is kind of sus of where he found out about all of this. He would be C6 R5 for me if I wasn't a F2P player. I firmly believe that Mondstat and Kanari' 'ah are linked and that's why Keays is still there. Who knows if Kaeya and Venti are more than dunkers. I know that they are. I've always had a theory that Venti and Kaeya are together working towards something that no one knows of yet except for them and Venti uses the witches as pawns to make his plans happen. Anemo or air is very strong indeed. It has so much power to it. As Anemo and geo are both the best elements to use by themselves their Archons are also the only ones to survive the archon war. Makes you wonder if Zhongli is in on this as well. If you don't remember the last cutscene of that quest Zhongli hides information from you. Maybe he's conspiring with Venti and plans to use the fatui as a way to help them achieve their goal. Because of this they helped each other survive the Archon war and surprising both let their nations to fend for themselves. Who knows what they are even doing now when Zhongli has all Adepti behind him and Venti has the witches to help him. Though this is all a theory but it could explain the reason why Venti and Zhongli VA had to VA a certain way because Hoyoverse doesn't want to reveal in the story that they are conspiring together.
this is all so fascinating! when you mentioned anemo possibly being the most powerful element of the game, i was reminded of the fact that the mondstadt score (i think) is the only one in the game played outside of its respective region; "tender strength" and "say my name" can be heard in archon and story quests in liyue, inazuma, sumeru, and fontaine, which has always struck me as a little bizarre...maybe it's just for nostalgia reasons, or it's some hidden nod to the lore ahaha
Ooh maybe it could be, or the fact that the music up in what seems like Celestia just before you enter the game is Mondstadt’s as well. They could have put it in a different album like they do for the demo musics and the cutscene ones but it's in the Mondstadt album. Yeah, I always had him in sight unlike my peers who only view him as a drunkard, he likes to play dumb and most likely hides all of his power, even to the point the other sus enitity (Paimon) doesnt even suspect him
Always figured he'd be the strongest given his and mondstadt's ties to the shade of time. Along with all the weird stuff going on in mondstadt like the hexenzirkel's presence and the inverted statue.
I dunno about who's the strongest but I do know the first two archons hold way more secrets than the rest, it's almost like they're purposefully designed to be much more than what meets the eye (although I think Zhongli is still the stronger of the two because there're some somewhat convincing details that may suggest him to be the Shade of Death)
very interesting. Zhongli remains my favorite archon and really any lore on any of them is my cup of tea. The new map's world quest actually has some crumbs about the archon war in it.
I think we don't see how serious is the fact that they wanted to challenge him, Venti is a human loving god and very kind, and it shows in the state of his nation, the only two reasons that they could use to want to challenge him is 1° they wanted his gnosis, but I kinda doubt it since they are already very powerful without it and 2° he is a threat, in some way, because if it isn't that it makes no sense to want to challenge him being the loving god that he is like bro did nothing but protecting his people

Considering the fact he is related to the god/shade of time, istaroth, which mondstader worshipped alongside him some times ago but now forgotten, he kinda set to have certain amount of power. Same like Egeria who was directly created by shade of life. Both hold off powers that even other archons not really able to pull off, power related to humanity's life itself (egeria manage to made human out of oceanid & venti able to carry souls to afterlife)
Venti also know all songs from past, present & future ,songs seems sacred to him it's not just for spectacle, people really hold poetry making to a degree, it's like a form of worship, so i believe he knows what might happen just like the hexenzirkel albeit not that clear and songs can tell history without affected by the irminsul. Even when venti need to sacrifice himself & dvalin to durin's poison, a creation of rhinedottir, his supposed ally, it shows that it's not really a perfect alliance but the thing granted to venti must be huge, i think he will let hexenzirkel do what they do as long as the end goal fulfilled, and so far, mondstadt is free from monsters & general unrest because just like their god, they have their own legion in the shadow to take care stuffs without bothering the unknowing common folk

Actually when i was reserching for the Heavenly principles video i began to wonder if different shades where responsible for different archons like the shade of life made Egeria and Rukkadvata because their elements pertain to life, and that Istaroth made Makoto and Venti because eternity and the winds pertain to the passing of time.
Then The shade of the void or space, the sustainer, would have made Zhongli because geo manipulates space to create shields, Pryo's destructive tendencies would be attributed to the shade of death and that Cryo and its tendency to increase crit rate and damage (which is really just fighting more intelligently) would be from the primordial one themself who represents reason and the mind.
Still this is very much a crackpot theory at this stage but I found it interesting.

The topic of Alice being from is also alluded from Barbara's story. It was Alice that introduced the concept of idols. She was the one that made Barbara an idol and was planning to recruit more to make an 'idol group'.
I remember, she also came up with this 'phone' for the summer fantasia event that they could use to call Venti. Pretty sure her inspiration for that is form earth too.

He is my comfort and serenity for 3 years and I know for a fact he is the key and the most important character in the game
I didn't think my overflowing love for Venti would grow immensely more! Seriously he's my most FAVORITE archon. I think a lot of people just dismiss him or forget about all his deeds because of the more recent introduction of cool archons, though I'm sure there are also kindred spirits who appreciates Venti the same

I agree with you. There is soooo much more to Venti than meets the eye. Venti even tells the traveler that he is glad to see them again. The traveler doesn’t remember meeting Venti and Venti giggles and blows his slip of the tongue off. But he really has met the Traveler before, many times. One of the things the story writers have done is make the timeline very very vague. (Example Zhongli says he is over 6000 years old. Is he 7000, 10000, or 15000 years old?) The vague timeline helps the story writers, and confuses the gamers! 😀I believe there is a Samsara over Teyvat. The traveler has done everything before. So the Hexenzirkel can study Irminsul? 🤔At any rate Venti seems much more stronger and knowledgeable than he puts on. It will be interesting to see his next story. 😊

I'm wondering what his connection to King Irmin might be, since Itmin is heavily Odin coded and Odin was also a god of poetry who was known to go to sleep for long periods of time. Especially since Khaenri'ah is heavily based on the Germanic interpretation of Norse mythology and Monstadt is heavily based on Germany.

About the queen piece, it could be anemo becs the queen moves freely on the table? Don't worry about your English it quite fine actually, I understand what you mean. That just what I think. Anemo is probably just as free to move around as the queen. Geo is a rook or castle and electro is a bishop.
We don't know which one hydro and dendro are but it's speculated that dendro is also a bishop and that hydro is a knight.

I am late a lot but I wanna add some things to the comments, which I read almost all of them and couldn't see these:
Early verisons of the game:
In game's first version (Beta ig?) venti is the narrator. the story starts with him telling what is going on, and has a darker theme than it is now. Things happens, they save dvalin, and after saving him venti gives him that blue energy ball. But something different happens. Dvalin tells venti that "if you keep going like that, you will die" with that venti passes out with a tired expression on his face.
+++ for that. There is a catalyst book in the game that written by venti. It is literally a goodbye letter for mondstaders, saying "don't mourn for me, children of the anemo archon. Even though my body turned into soil, my soul has become one with the thousand winds." (not exactly but it kinda felt like a su!c!de letter)
So it seems like venti gonna die somehow.
About Venti and Celestia:
In manga, when venti was asked about celestia his mood immadiately changed as he thought about 3? sillhouettes. And in his voice lines he says celestia's apple is tasteles so
conclusion for this one: He has been there or at least know about there
About his Powers:
Venti is stated to be born from branches of time, has a connection with time god cannocially, says he know every song from past or future and can bring people's memories back. These two last are definitely powers connected or taken from the time god. Also venti can wake up from his slumbers when he "hears" his people's cry. Which stated that time god -Istaroth- did for enkanomiya. Also one more thing, when you are entering a domain in inazuma, cecilias make an appearence. Which symolizes both istaroth and venti
One more addition to his powers his connection with souls. He created a small domain and showed his friend's soul to stanley. It was stated that he directs souls after they die. And understands human emotions to a deep level. Also in real world soul was believed to be a form of wind or a breath. So he clearly has something going on.
Manipulative Nature:
We can catch venti lying or casually analysing the hell out of people. One of is most overseen one is that he first forced us to steal his lyre, when he can teleport and steal or he literally could use his lyre.
And venti also said he couldn't repair the lyre and needed purified tears to do it. But after that he repaired the lyre to just stop barbara from crying . He said it will go back to its original form but in barbara's hangout quest we think abut how she didn't realize. Only solution I can find is he actually reparied it and played the fool.
I could add at least 4-5 more things to here. but it is too long as it is and probably no one gonna read even when it is short lmao
This analysis is very good. I'm especially interested in what you mentioned about the beta version of the story and the catalyst description. I was thinking again about all the unexplained things Venti has done like his music can even bewitch a dragon Sovereign (Dvalin) and everything that he knows but isn't say and I actually started feeling like I need to make a follow up video lol.

Venti is really sus for me and I love to see where this story will go. Mondstadt for me is the most interesting region, and I can't wait to see witches's appearance in the main story, especially Rhinedottir and Alice, and I feel that there must be something huge about Albedo's presence too. I have a strong feeling that Mondstadt will be one of the most important regions in the end of the story.

in all honesty, I think it absolutely is a ploy.
The Gnosis (even when the heavens are watching but not interviening) is still a beacon in which the archons are controlled from.
so to "accidentally lose it" he is free to operate behind the curtains without having a constant "big brother watching".

Venti being the strongest archon idk, but he’s certainly a powerhouse who has been hiding so much from us including his true power despite not being that good at hiding his identity. His origins stem from Istaroth the Shade of time, yet he can guide souls to the afterlife, which doesn’t sound like something the shade of time would do. His knowledge of songs from the past, present and future sounds ridiculous but it’s quite possible and as mentioned in another comment, links him to Irminsul. The fact that he is now friends with the Hexenzirkel instead of being killed by them is insane considering Alice is literally defending Teyvat from whatever is outside of the continent and also travelled the entire world it seems. Keep in mind that some of the gods who lost the archon war fled Teyvat and there are many god corpses outside of Teyvat. The fact that Venti is friends with a group that has Alice in it, let alone the others, is insane. I don’t think he’d win against Zhongli or Ei in a pure 1v1 (no one has a gnosis in these situations) but he’s quite possibly more dangerous. Great video, I didn’t realize that Venti is even more sus than I thought
I have a theory, that the reason why Venti is called the weakest Archon, is because he never actually got the chance to use his full power. That, and because he wins the Gnosis by "luck".
So, imo, the Archons War measure strengths based on the kill count or how many lands you conquer and because of that, it made sense if Andrius vs Decarabian fight take place during nearly the end of the war, where basically all the other victor is merely just waiting on who will be the ruler of Mondstadt region.
So, when instead of the expected two, Venti is the one who came on top, it was easy for other Archons to assume that Venti just win because of pure luck & because Andrius didn't want to rule. And after that, long period of peace came that Venti never uses his powers except for the rare times (like cutting the top of dragonspine, or Vanessa incident) where he would go to sleep immediately after that the stigma of "weakest" stick to him.
Because of that, Venti is known as the weakest in the mortal world, but Celestia knows his true 'potential' hence making him the queen in the chessboard. (Also, I think that Archons don't actually knows how other gnosis looks (until Tsaritsa decided to collect them) hence they didn't know their place in the eyes of Celestia, nor a sure way to compare their power)
Imagine Nicole gets a personality like King - Kai ( Kaio-sama) ( kai of the northern galaxy from DragonBall Z ) it would be so funny. 😂
