Hi, I got the pimax beta client 1.32.01.01 and it doesn't have the upscale option, where can I get that beta pls. I ask as I cannot get a decent vr experience with my pcl and dcs.

This is an awesome channel …. I’m an old man who started playing pong and the. Atari and Intellivision in the 70’s and 80’s. I joined the Navy and spent a few years on CVN69, San Diego and Norfolk. In 88 our division (V-2) received several brand new IBM XT computers and with these computers some free software on floppy disks called “Jet”. It was the latest and greatest flight simulator. Basically you could select an F-16 or FA-18 aircraft that was a stick figure. The aircraft carrier was also a stick figure. The aircraft movement was slow and seemed to be updated frames once ever second or two. It’s really remarkable what has taken place with technology. I just hope the world’s crazy dictators and oligarchs don’t drive all of us off the terrible cliff of another WW… So…. Where is these virtual reality games heading? It’s exciting and scary. People are living an ever increasing amount of time living life on a TV or computer screen… their forgetting how to live active physical and culturally rich lives connected to their neighbors and family.

Except I went into the Marines, First Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division Camp Pendleton. 1979-1982 You're right. This country and the world, for the most part, have gone crazy. Never thought I would live through a time such as this. But I do love the way we are able to sim now. Very hard to stay out of the sim world. I'm 64, and it's too easy just to forget about real life and stay in the sim. Never been better for flight simulation. But not so Good for today's generations learning how to cope with real life. We have lived through both eras, (no computers) so we are able to see, and have experienced, what these new generations have not. They don't even know what there missing. Sad and good, at the same time. Lord, Help us.

I kept my RiftS to keep my FPS at its max refresh rate (80fps). PD 1.8 and over medium settings I was able to run the game with stable 80fps in VR (I play only in VR). Okay, it lacks the peripherial vision and its resolution is not the best, but a flight sim should never stutter in VR, it ruins the whole immersion. So if you can, try out some older, lower resolution headsets, because color quality and resolution maybe are better on new sets but playing a flight sim with 35 fps is a no-go for me. My config is 5800X3d, 4070Ti iChill X3 and 64 gb ddr4. Win runs from pcie gen 3 nvme and dcs from a 4.0 nvme. It worked like charm for me with the RiftS, maybe after this update I should try to set my setting higher to see how far I can go with 80fps. Anyway, Vr optim is always good to hear. 7800x3d and 4070 super, bought the mi-24p in the end of summer sale but i haven't played yet because the last 2 patches have tanked my performance in the quest 3. Stutter hell. Mi-24 was in my wishlist since trying it in the free trial. Taking some time off playing war thunder tanks.
Rotorheads is a really good server. There are just too many SAM's and anti air systems on there though. Soon as you take a three SAM's out four more show up.
Wow, they finally decided to try and optimize that engine? Good. Who knows? Maybe they'll do something about those horrible flashing rotor shadows at some point, as well. One can only hope...
Are you seriously getting 40+FPS out of a RTX2060? I get that with my RX7900XTX on my Quest 2 with all of the 24GB of VRAM in use, though the GPU runs at no more then 60%
@@hipgames I know you got that result with a Pimax. I already know that using a DisplayPort cable for the VR makes a nice difference compared to a USB port but not that big of a difference. Hence the question whether you got that with a RTX 2060 since that helps me get a clearer picture of just how much of an upgrade the Pimax will be too me
@@odysseus9797 thanks for your reply. My CPU is running a bit harder (like 70%) because it's much weaker then my GPU, even after trying all sorts of settings. I must also add, my settings are quite high but I recently changed everything including the USB cable but nothing gave really much improvement
@@WellEnhancer I also had a 7900xtx. Was at the forefront of bug testing and data submission to AMD regarding RDNA3 and VR. Turns out there are some architectural issues which caused degraded virtual reality performance. I will not going to specifics, but it’s practically unfixable this generation. Sold my XTX after this news and got a 4090. Was around 4x the performance in VR, despite the fact that my XTX actually was after in traditional rasterised games and synthetic benchmarks 🤷♂️
Great this is why i can't get bore sight radar mode to work right i use the helmet mounted display to lock targets it works on the ground but if i take off and switch to nav mode then back to dogfight i can not get the radar back to the helmet it switches to bore mode in the center of the HUD.
I hope the patch fixes my version. I’m on MT open beta steam edition. Has anyone else’s Steam version started to fail to launch without an error? My saved games file folder wont update either after I did a full download.
When are they going to fix the server issues that have been plaguing everything for months - comms issues with control towers and carriers and so forth?? These are biggies that needed dealing with a long time ago
I have a 48-80 super, quest 3, 64 gigs of RAM & i7 10700......For some reason i can't get over 34 fps in vr. I've been tinkering with settings for 4 months and no improvement. Incredibly frustrating and making me not want to play the game anymore. If anyone can help i would be happy to pay a fee. I'm close to just giving up altogether
I'd like to see a refresh of all the weapon effects. Gun impacts, I'd like to see more flash on hard targets and I'd like to see the dust last longer visually as it moves with the wind. It'll make it easy to spot effects on target and looks more realistic. Rockets, the effects are the least realistic in the game. All I can say is review real footage and try to match it better. Again add longer lasting dust and smoke effects. Bombs and missile impacts, I'd like to see a variation to the explosions. The shrapnel and plume changes based on angle of impact, what it hits and other variables. Some level of variation would greatly add to the experience. Lastly I'd like to see dismounted soldiers react to being engaged vs just standing around. They should run, try to hide, change position based on where the threat is and fight back if in close proximity. This whole game ultimately is about putting warheads on target and the way that looks could use some work

absolutely , even minor stutters in VR make me want to stop playing and go play warthunder instead(cuz that runs unbelievably smooth in VR).

Check our review of the Pimax Crystal and Pimax Crystal Light, you will understand. We are not running the Quest 2
If the gpu runs only at 60% then it sounds like you might vmbe having a cpu bottleneck.

My Pimax software doesn't offer the 90Hz Upscaling option - The headset firmware is 1.0.6. Has it been released yet?
Give it a bit of time and it will be out. I specify its an open beta option for now. Will publish a post and video about it when its out

Make sure are running the MT (multi-threaded) version. I had the same and that fixed it.
Run DCS in MT and your issue should be fixed

If you are on DCS standalone, go to your DCS folder and enter the MT bin folder and activate that dcs.exe
If you are on steam, it shows you a splash screen when you start DCS With what option you want to choose.
