On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

the reason Egypt is choosing the J10 to replace it's f16 fleet is because the US doesn't allow Egypt to have Amraams on their f16 which means it's obsolete imagine in today's modern era and the Egyptian f16s still operates with sparrows, when you compare it with the J10C equipped with PL-15 yeah fat chance that their F-16 is gonna be anywhere near as good in BVR
I think thats becaus Egypt need reliable weapons when they have problems with Isreal, middle east Asia countries just dont trust US anymore

About those missing missiles: it's to do with the airspeed they were launched at -- PL-10 has all its control surfaces at the rear of the fuselage, unlike an R-73M or an AIM-9X its ability to maintain controlled flight at low speeds is virtually non-existent as it lacks the canards to steer itself into the airflow. This is only exaggerated by the vectored thrust which deviated its control surfaces from trajectory of velocity the second they were launched -- leading to again, an inability to steer itself by the nose back to trajectory of velocity due to the lack of canards and an inability to correct itself

As a retired F-15 crew chief it hurts my heart to see you beat an F-15 but I just think you’re way better than anyone you fight against.
I think it came down to GS being better at aerial gunnery. There were a handful of times the F-15 took a shot and baaaarely missed.

A properly modelled J-10 would be cool to see on DCS
All of these are guestimated based on a mixture of popularity and hype.
Not to mention the PLAAF is secretive so it’s hard to get the accuracy close .
The J-10 is a bit of an enigma. In one angle it's looks good then it rolls and shows another side and it's ugly.
Su-27 and j-20 do that too, they are really ugly from some angles.

I find that with the F16 its underneath view is ugly but top and front on view it looks fantastic.

With the F/A 18s high AOA, that might be be a very short fight, if it's a fox-2 fight. But I agree it would be interesting to see.
F/a-18 would most likely win in a fox 2 dogfight but the f-35 would have an edge in fox-3 bvr, different planes meant for different purposes. Would still be pretty cool to watch.

It looks like a lot of these fights are coming down to your superior skill as a pilot in DCS. I doubt the J-10 is really as good as you're flying it.
To be fair it's the early A model J-10, J-10C would be completely different.

One lesson I always learn from these fights against the Eagle is that if you want to win as an Eagle, you have to be aggressive. You can win an endurance match in the Eagle, sure, but the Eagle retains and regains power very nicely, and being aggressive in the Eagle forces your opponent to trade power for evasion. The Eagle can afford to lose some power in its aggression, but very few opponents can say the same in having to pull evasion.
It would have been funny if that missile locked on to you while it was going Su-37 mode.

In terms of looks, the J-10 looks like it was exported directly from the original Thunderbirds TV show as one of the non-Thunderbirds fightercraft.
50 years of F-15 in 2022 and 25 years of J-10 in 2023.
Seems like the majority of the F-15’s strengths are it’s stand off capability with its radar, which is obviously negated in a merge fight 🤷🏻♂️

What a dynamic in this fight. GS pissed off the F-15 in the first round, it came back super aggressive. Tricked it in the 3rd, F-15 got mad again and made him eat two missiles (second one was personal) in the 4th round. That F-15 has got some anger management issues

My take away from this is that the F-15 is the superior aircraft; the two times the F-15 took down the J-10, the Eagle did it much faster than the reverse. It absolutely comes down to the pilot though. Baiting the Eagle pilot into the 1-circle was definitely the winning move. If the Eagle pilot hadn't fallen for the bait, I think the Eagle would have taken all 4 rounds.

One engine fighter vs twin engine fighter is a bit unfair. But still that J-10 is a really good fighter plane.
This Chengdu is like a mig 21 with conards to increase its versatility and agility rather than just being an interceptor that goes like a rocket like the mig 31.
