    My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
    On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
    I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.
    You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.
    Enjoy browsing!

    My sister trimmed my hair, I cut her into a very long bob. This afternoon we're gonna attempt Korean bangs on me, wish us luck!
    UPDATE: it turned out amazing! The bangs look like the ones shown in the tutorial

    I've always been happier cutting my own hair. I thought I should give hair salons another shot but I just came back from a 50 euro appointment just to get my ends cut (where they didn't even have the common courtesy to blow dry my hair), and I had to take scissors to it to correct quite a few stragglers. Will be giving this method a try!

    I’ve been cutting my own hair since I was a teen, and I have my dad help me cut the back to help make it straight, lol. It’s easy. I’m always shocked that people always seem so horrified that I cut my own hair. Like, it’s not a big deal. It’s easy, and free. Definitely gonna try your method when I’m trimming off the dead ends. 💙

And now I have a mullet.......!

    I'm going to try this today. My hair is almost to the bottom of my back but my ends need a good trim. If I mess up, I'll be wearing my hair in a bun until they open hair salons again!
    UPDATE: I did it and it doesn't look to bad. Instead of a v- shape it is wavy because my hair is super wavy. It's not noticable because I usually have my hair back in a pony. Should I straighten my hair and try again?

I didn't say anything but I hated my hair for the last two months. :$ Now I kinda like it but I'm growing it out. It's beginning to look like what I originally wanted (even the length of my bang ! D:)

  • @yairmoreno9091

    So you are going to keep the old "diesushibitch" method, keeping the length and waiting for the top thickness to reach the ends by micro trimmings? 😀. I relate because my hair resembles a lot yours and im growing it in a slow bit safe process with constant micro trims 🧡🧡🧡

    • @Loepsie
      @Loepsie  4 года назад +1

      What a throwback, haha! But yes, that's the plan :) I've been cutting my hair shorter and shorter in an attempt at making it "look thicker" which always works for about a month and then I'm just left with short hair that's just as thin. So now I've accepted the thin, wispy ends and will just wait until it gets better (and wear extensions when it really bothers me, haha). Good luck with your growing!

    What do you think is making all that new hair come back like that? Were you ill a couple of years ago?

    • @Loepsie
      @Loepsie  4 года назад +4

      No idea :( I feel like it just happens every few years and I haven't been able to identify anything that may have caused it. I've been taking biotin supplements for a while now which have made the hair grow faster, but I only started doing that when the new hair was at about cheekbone length so that's not the reason why it came back.

      Loepsie yes that’s very true, I’m just two weeks in and the first week it was very greasy but somehow this week isn’t near as bad but I use the boar bristle brush and that’s amazing lol😀..reason why I mentioned it to you is because my hair was shedding every time I washed it with shampoo and even when I put my fingers through it and now when I wash it only a tiny bit of loss( the normal we lose each day)I have read other peoples experiences and they said they don’t like the heavy weighted feel but my hair was so light before and only shoulder length so I quite enjoy feeling it move at least lol.. it isn’t for everyone and it’s early days yet for me so I ain’t preaching 😉just yet lol x

    But do you always cut off barely a centimeter? That felt like less than that.. you could easily cut off 2-4, or even 5-7 cm and have MUCH healthier looking/feeling hair. Split ends travel up the hair strands much longer than what you cut off, and (if I'm assuming you cut off this little every time) that's why the ends of your hair looks so wispy. Cutting off that little is doing literally nothing to help with split ends. And if you really want a trim, you need to make sure ALL of the strands are getting cut. Recommending cutting off that little honestly feels like a joke, but know that I still LIKE and RESPECT Loepsie ❤️ If that makes you happy, then go for it!
    (for Americans; 1 cm = 0,4 inches, 2-4 cm = 0,8-1,6 inches, 5-7 cm = 2-2,8 inches)

    Noooo, really? I am very sorry, but your ends are super dry and look not good about 5 or 7 cm for sure.

    I dont Like that so many people cut their hair themselves. Its okay for once every while but it doesnt look as good a a real layered Cut from a hairdresser. And i have fine and thin hair myself Like you. I go to a hairdresser every 6 months and inbeetween cut my ends a little when i notice spliss

      I am not sure what Loepsie thinks, but for many people going to the hairdresser is usually nothing but an annoying ordeal, I rarely leave a hairdresser satisfied but always poorer. If I just want to take care of my tips or bangs I prefer to just do it myself, not waste money and not go through the anguish of getting something I did not ask for.

      I've never, ever left the hairdresser with a cut I wanted and liked. When I cut my own hair, I'm able to cut it exactly how I want it, and there isn't someone there to secretly cut off 10 cm more than I asked for 😜 For me personally it isn't worth the money. We all have different priorities, though!

      I think it depends on the cut you want. For simple trim, at home cuts are perfectly fine. Of course, if you have long hair and want to get a bob or a super short cut, maybe seeing a specialist would be better. But that's entirely up to you. I gave up hairdressers because they very often are ridiculously expensive! And I don't like that cuts for men cost half the price of cuts for women (even when I simply need to trim). But if you prefer seeing a specialist, go with it!

      develish cat I prefer a blunt cut because my hair is a bit thin, and that’s easy to do at home. If you want a fancier cut, I completely get going to the hairdresser, but that’s not what I’m looking for.

      develish cat not to be rude but I have to wonder; why are you even concerned with what other people do with their own hair? The only hair you need to worry about is the one on your own head. Don’t really know how people cutting their hair at home or getting it professionally done should impact you at all.
