I love the transition from a panicked „I can’t believe I’m doing this“ to „If you want to cut your own hair, go ahead“ and „Should I go shorter?“. I did a drastic cut a few years ago (butt-length to pixie cut) and it was the most freeing thing. The new style looks amazing on you!
I've done that chop - twice. It was awesome! I'm back to having long hair. It hasn't annoyed me enough to cut it again (yet).
Same! Maybe a few days before this video was uploaded I went from past-butt-length to pretty much the same length as Lucy, based on a split-second decision at the hairdresser's. When she cut off the first half a meter of hair in one go (so I wouldn't have a way to back out again), I immediately went like "what the hell did I just do?! 😭". Got even worse when my hair was wet and just hanging down straight but once it dried I immediately loved it to my own big surprise. Now I even regret a bit that I didn't go even shorer
This length with those bangs suits your face soo well, and it looks really healthy and thick, also effortlessly more sophisticated!
My mom is a hairdresser, so growing up I got accustomed to getting haircuts and having lots of different styles. Conversely, I had several friends who were emotionally attached to their hair and had a hard time even going in for trims. My philosophy has always been your new one: get the haircut! It grows back and trying different styles helps you realize what’s flattering on you. This length is really flattering and makes your hair look so full! I love it.
It looks so good!! What a fitting time to go for something completely different. New home, new hair!
Your hair looks so much healthier now, great job! Cutting short hair on yourself is hard, but you learn to balance mirrors around if needed haha. Its definitely harder than cutting long hair but you did great!
I’m loving the shorter hair. Looks much fuller and suits your face well.
Your hair looks so healthy with the chop! I've been growing out a pixie cut (which i also swore i would never get lol) and for cutting long bobs, i recommend using the two pigtails, but when you tie the elastics, tilt your chin up to make it shorter in the back! Also, to minimize choppiness, i recommend using the same vertical little snips that you use on your bangs when you do the very last cut!
Great tips! Do you have any for getting the back bit, in the middle, straight? xx
@@dawnbaby if you tilt your head up when you're gathering the pigtails it will give it less of a U shape and make your hair more even all around! And when you're cleaning the bottoms up after, go in sections held by your pointer and middle finger and follow the general angle that was made by the initial cut but even it out!
@@morganfiona8378 Thank you lovely for taking the time to reply and helping xx
Ohhhh, that length looks SO CUTE on you! So glad to see you take time to do a fun thing just for you in the middle of the move/renovation, it's such a stressful time.
Really like this look on you. The hair truly looks so much fuller. Now I'm thinking about cutting my own hair.
I love your hair like this, it looks so much fuller and healthier. I cut my hair often to just at my shoulders and find it holds such better curls when I do wet set pin curls, versus any other method. Once it gets longer, it’s all out the window.
Love it!
I did the same trim-turned-cut thing to my hair for the same issues you did. The hair looks much fuller and healthier now.
Singing the ends has also been a gamechanger for me!
That looks very good on you, and it looks so full and fluffy.
A tip for cutting your own hair: Wash it afterwards. That allows you to look for hidden tresses thats longer. And it's a good trick to really see if everything is the right length/not choppy. The waves might otherwise hide that. I cut my own hair into bobs that shorter than yours, and that always helps me when dubblechecking
I’m 34 and found my first gray hair the other day! I was like nooooo! Lol, I do love women who embrace their gray, and I love a full head of that nice silver colored hair. I’ve been watching you for YEARS, and your hair videos have helped me be able to cut my own hair which definitely came in handy during the pandemic! I haven’t been to a hair salon in at least 3 years now.
try going gray at 18 like I did!!
I love how your "short" hair is my "long" hair. I was just amazed with how long my hair is for the first time in my life and here I am watching your video about how short it is 😂 (I couldn't have it long cause my hair used to be very heavy and having it much longer than chin length gave me migraines)
But this shorter hair looks so cute one you, and it definitely looks thicker and healthier. It looks amazing with your face.
It looks so good and healthy!! And I’d love more hair content at this length, it’s what I have! I actually used to have a pixie so I know how it feels to cut so much hair off at once, your head feels lighter on your shoulders haha
OMGGG you did such a good job. This length suits you so well!
The new haircut suits you soo much! Your hair looks so healthy and full! Gorgeous!
I've never been this early!! You've been my hair inspo for years and I actually have a bob ATM, so I can't wait to see the styles you come up with!
I have been growing my hair out for the last few years, and I'm reaching the point where I'm tempted to go back to the shorter styles I used to wear - good on you trying it out! You're completely right, anyone should just try a cut themselves at least once if they want to
It looks so much thicker! Really nice
I love it, Lucy, but much more importantly, I hope you love it even more every day! I always wonder how you seem to perfect the vision you have in your mind almost every time you try something new; it is a talent for sure!
Well done! About having a pixie haircut, I was like you but then I was forced to start over with a pixie after a hair loss and I was surprised to find it cute, fun and feminine on me. I started noticing that when someone is soft and feminine, a pixie haircut looks feminine. It would be the same for you so don't worry about that, no haircut can make you less feminine, I think it's mostly about your attitude 🙂
Honestly I really needed to hear something like that, I have waist-lenght hair and have been thinking of cutting it short but I was unconsciously so worried it would make me looks less feminine (I mean there's nothing wrong with not wanting to look feminine it's just that I personally really like feminine stuff) but what you say is right, a haircut wouldn't make me any less feminine
@@mj6312 for a someone who has a waist length hair
A pixie will be a big and a drastic change that you may not accept so try to take babies steps and be careful on this
You look gorgeous 😍 I cut my back mid length into a bob myself back in 2017 when I turned 30 years old. It was fun and very different for me but I decided to grow it out again. Now I have close to tailbone length but it is a fun journey to make changes. You look so cute 😍 I think you did a great job cutting it yourself. Love your videos as always 💕
Thank you for talking about your gray hairs. I just turned 30 and was feeling really sad because I found two gray hairs on my head. I felt like I was the only one my age going through it, but it makes me feel better to know that others have gray hairs too.
This looks absolutely lovely. I also think that glasses and short hair tend to look very stylish together, so this fits with the fact that you seem to be wearing glasses more often than I remember from being an old-school viewer of this channel!
Lucy, it looks so good!!! Can't wait to see how you style it, brush-outs really do work so much better with shorter hair
I remember back when you were trying to reach waist length and now here you are chop chopping! Must be so liberating! I always love to randomly grab my hair and just chop it off. It makes me feel better and my hair also gets stringy now on the ends, so I always like to chop it where it's fullest :) Looks wonderful Lucy!
It looks really nice! I cut my hair from waist length to shoulder length, too, 2 years ago after having had long hair for most of my life and liked it a lot! I've grown it out again now because I also really like long hair but at some point I'm gonna go back to short hair again.
I have had a bob just barely above my shoulders, then grew my hair long, an asymmetrical bob around chin length, and other styles in between. I learned through the process that long hair made me feel the most like myself...and my bangs, which you inspired me to get several years ago. But, yeah, it took so many different hairstyles to find out which made me feel the best. Your hair looks so healthy. I think the cut did you good. It's so full!
You look beautiful in your new haircut! Waves will appear for sure after your hair learns it is not weighted down anymore. A true “Bob”, my hairdresser told me, is longer in the front, angled to shorter in the back. The angle can be gradual or sharp depending on how “edgy” you want it to look.
It looks so cute, and I can't wait to see the different ways you style it! It's a perfect length for vintage curls! 😊
P.S. Technically, it's not a bob unless it's above the shoulders, but it's still cute and looks so thick! 🙂
Her hair is a bob cut
Long bob
@@lathafalls7675That’s defo not a bob : a bob is at least at the bottom’s neck, nothing more than that
@@carelixacosta5601 Shoulder length that’s the way we would call it in France. A bob is supposed to be no longer that your bottom’s neck
It looks so full and healthy!! I chopped 10 inches (25 cm) off last summer and it was so freeing! Be sure to shake your hair around a lot and rock the pigtails. Also, been following since the sock bun days and I can't believe you finally chopped it!! I go through phases and short hair can be so fun, and then by the time you're over it it's grown out anyway lol
Haven’t seen the result yet, but I think it will suit you well !
Edit: it looks so nice, good job !!!!
Absolutely fabulous!! Love it ❤️❤️
It looks sooooo good!! And I can't wait to see the brush outs 😍
I love it! Looks great, and it's always fun to see someone having fun with and enjoying their hair!
Update - I loved it so much that I then went and bought some hairdressing scissors and cut my waist length hair into a bob! Turns out cutting your own hair is great fun (although I am going to have a friend fix the back for me in a couple days 😂)
I remember watching you cut your bangs a few years ago and now watching you do this is amazing! Always inspired by your transformations! 🖤
Oh hey! You ended up with the same length of hair I currently have!
I've been growing it out since I cut it into a chin length bob and realized that wasn't a good length for me! (I like to put my hair up) but this length I find really versatile as you can put it up, braid it, etc but it's still pretty easy to manage down.
Oh wow!! It is actually insane how much fuller it does look at this length, it looks like totally different hair! This suits you SO WELL!! I loveee it and you look beautiful with short hair :)
This will look soo cute with curls and I personally really like the look of this lengtj with 3rd day curly too which tend to look not so great anymore on longer hair. Super glad you did the thing and tried out what you wanted, you look amazing!
That length looks really good on you! I cut my hair from belly button length to shoulder length a few years ago and ever since that initial chop I’ve always preferred shoulder length on me. I tried growing it out for a while, I also tried a chin length Bob once, but no matter what length I try I always long back to my go to shoulder length. I hope you love your hair at that length as much as I do. It looks great and it looks so full and healthy now.
Omg I LOVE IT!
I loved the armpit length on you too, but the shorter bob is so fun, I can't wait to see how it behaves when you wash it!
Aaand I can feel the urge to cut my hip length thick ass hair into a bob coming back
Lucy, you are so beautiful no matter what length your hair is. I absolutely love this change. You are gorgeous inside and outside.
Love how it looks 🥰and the pure chaos in this video. Also your reaction to it and getting more confident is awesome .you definitely inspired me also
Great job! I went from hip length to shoulder length when I was pregnant with my 2nd. Your hair looks healthier and thicker.
Your hair looks so good! Well done, Lucy! And welcome to the short hair club 😊 Once you join it, you never really leave haha
Oh my god Lucy!!! This length looks so good on you! 😱😍
Your cutting your own bangs video is the first time I've watched this channel and the rest is history. Your bob looks refreshing and good to you 💕🌷
You look so stunning!! Enjoyed the video so much! Loved it. You are so brave too 💪🏻👏🏻🫶🏻
Truth to tell, it looks much more healthy and thick and fuller! Beautiful!
It looks so good! Every length you cut looked good on you! It also looks so much fuller too.
Happy new hair do! I love this length on you. It really suits you. I have similar hair to you, long bob-ish hair makes mine look thick and fuller. Helps with any natural wave too. X
I love it, it looks so much thicker too, I am loving the home renovation videos too...
I’d been thinking of cutting my own hair for like a month and your video was just the inspiration I needed to finally do it. No regrets!!!
I love the new style, it looks very good on you! The decisive way you cut your hair is quite inspiring.
It looks great! Definitely appears fuller... You did it!!! 🤗🤗
Your hair looks beautiful, healthy and thick! The style absolutely works! Great job
I appreciate your carefree attitude & admire that as I'm trying to acquire such trying to gain the nerve to get my bottom length, THICK heavy hair cut and like you, even a down my back some is what I now consider sort of "short!" in comparison to what I've lived with. Mine was already down my back but I refrained from cutting it aside from some dustings, throughout the Covid pandemic. It physically hurts, weighing down my weak neck and the snarls are horrendous 😥 It has become dry and no longer very healthy nor manageable. I still have an emotional attachment unfortunately that is to a detriment with my daily life and the pain I'm in carrying all this weight around. People who are ridiculous about long hair do not care to consider that and it's disgusting!!! I love the freshly cut line, how healthy your hair looks just cut and this has helped me to start accepting that it's just hair!!! My culture believes hair is sacred, of the soul. Not to the extent it's damaged & a literal pain!!! It takes hours to comb through and it snarls into rats nests constantly, I know it's time!!! It was in beautiful condition but the signs can't be ignored and I think your hair looks Fuller & healthier too, freshly cut!!! Your fun approach and not taking the matter too serious is helping me!!! Although I will go to have someone do it, I'm not brave & adventurous as you!!! 😉 You remind me of Daphne from Frasier!!! 🌹💇🏼♀️ Anyways, you have beautiful hair and you did a decent job considering you had no help, you did better than many pro's out there I've had!!! 🙄😟 Your head probably feels a little lighter, I hope you enjoy your new look!!! 🌸💄👧🏻💕
You would look amazing with a "wolf cut"! A very 70s disco look, wispy but shaped.
It suits you so well ! Also makes your hair look healthier 😊 It made me laugh so much when you couldn't stop cutting haha we've all been there 😂
I love this!!! I can't believe I remember when you cut your bangs for the first time, I've been watching your for probably about 6 years now!
I absolutely love this length on you! The fullness of it looks really good and makes you look more energised
I've always loved your hair and your beautiful waves 😍 and oh wow it soothes you with that length, it really gives a lot of volume 😍😍
I think it looks so much thicker, I love it.🥰 your so brave cutting your own hair but you did a great job/❤️
You look amazing any length hair. And the best part is that it grows back! Proud of you 🥳
I enjoyed this video very much! Your fears did not overcome your determination and excitement for a new look and healthy hair. Love the new look! Enjoy it! 💖🌟
It looks really great!!!
I, know that daunting feeling when you're about to cut your hair! I, had to cut my tailbone length hair this week 😭. My hair was damaged due to a couple of immune reasons, as well as, split ends all the way up. As, I, did the first cut; I, wanted to cry. And then, went for the short bob... At first, I, was like; "What have, I, done!" But, then, I, realised how freeing it was and, I, let go of some stress. Now, just gotta get it healthier to start growing it out again!
It looks adorable on you. Can't wait to see what it looks like when u fix it all up.
I love this!! I have hair this length and it's so easy to take care of in the summer especially. plus you can decide to go shorter or let it grow out, and you can still put it in a ponytail.
Looks so much healthier! Yay!! Well done!!
It was so much fun to see you doing the same emotional rollercoaster I did a few years ago knowing how nice it was to have worked through that. I had short/mid length hair for about five years after that, and recently cut it into an actual jaw length bob. I'm very glad I did, even though I now plan to grow it out, but MAN is it a pain to cut the back! I feel your pain...
And I have to say, it looks Really good on you!
Your hair comes out AMAZING Lucy!! Can't wait to see when you style it for us.
Well done! 👏 💇 ❤
Love this.😊💖... PLEASE tell where you got your pop- up beautiful box,hand-held mirror!!!💜💜💜
This could not have come at a better time! I’ve had long hair for almost 20 years, and I’m cutting off around 7 inches tomorrow. I’m nervous because I know it’s a commitment, but oh my gosh your hair looks so cute-this is the push I needed!
This haircut looks so cute on you! I’ve been subscribed to your channel for 10 years (I know, I can’t believe it’s been that long either!) and I feel like I’ve walked with you, per se, in so many of your hair changes. Whether that was hair loss, regrowth, or dyeing it a different color. Anyway, I think this length really suits you! Your hair looks so much thicker and fuller. I hope you’re enjoying it!
It looks gorgeous! You did a great job, and it suits you so well. You hair looks full and healthy! When I saw your video, the first thing I thought of was watching when you cut your bangs! Fantastic results, congratulations! 👏👏👏😍🤩
Looks so much better and healthier, well done
Never thought I’d see the day! But it looks so good on you. Your hair instantly looked thicker. Can’t wait to see new hair content!
I love it! It suits you so well and the hair looks much thicker and stronger :) I chopped off about 35cm last year and went from about waist length to shoulder length. I can relate to being so nervous about it, I had very long hair all my life and it was so freeing to finally let go of it :) I felt like a new person!
I love it! It looks a lot thicker and healthier & you still have a lovely length for styling 😍❤️
It looks so much fuller! Looks cute!
It looks so cute! 😍 New house, new haircut, new Lucy! I love it 👏
Oh my god she did it, she actually did it!!! When I saw the title, my brain went "what?? this must be clickbait... but Loepsie doesn't do clickbait... oh my god, I have click and see". Haha. But seriously the Loepsie I have been following for 11 years actually cut her hair short, what a milestone!!
It looks really cute, I've had all lengths of hair from pixie cut to hip length, but I really love this length myself very much. And it just made me so happy to see how excited you got once it started to go shorter and shorter. Loved this video, the reaction was so genuine
I LOVE IT, Lucy!!! ☺️ I’ve been here since teenage Loepsie, and I was so surprised today to see that you really cut it! Congratulations! It’s super cute! 🥰 hugs from Texas.
Oddly enough, my hair looked very similar to this and I did a very similar cut a few days ago! Cutting off the thinner bits makes your hair look a lot fuller, and, in my case, they were the result of a haircut attempt that only looks good in low humidity. You did a great job!
I once went from waist-length hair to chin length and I second your statement: just go for it! It grows back!
It looks REALLY good, and like double in thickness! I think the length you ended at is perfect
Wow. I’ve followed you since your long hair coconut oil days many yrs ago. Who would have thought back then that you would actually look amazing in short hair! Xxx
Holy smokes, you look SO GOOD! That initial reaction from the first but chop there was a gasp of amazement from me. I hope you continue to be happy with it! Your hair looks so much fuller now.
Self cutting a blunt bob on your own is one of the most difficult cuts since you kinda have to be precise on the back especially on the neck area and it is extremely tricky the shorter you go. A u shape longer bob like yours is just fine😍 , I should know since I usually cut my hair on my own and decided to go for a shoulder collarbone length bob last December and it did turned out fine but It was hell frustration and had to shave some of my back hair to have a real bob shape.... It is past arm pit length the back and my the front parts down my chest now, very uneven and wonky lol but I'm planning on cutting it back to my regular good old u shape cut which is a heck easier...anyway great cut Lucy you look so nice and beautiful ❤️😍❗
I like the length you stopped. It looks nice, feminine and healthy. I also have decided to go for a shorter hair style after many years of really long hair and I am super happy with it. To me, short hair is super easy to manage.
I love this look on you!!! And your outfit is ADORABLE!!! Great job!!! 🤗💖
It looks sooooo good! You'll find you have more waves automatically now that the length is shorter. :)
Great job. I can't wait to see it when it's all styled and wavy.
Love your hair! It's a great look on you and can't wait to see some vintage styling with it!
Hair grows back! Great that you did it. It looks so good. It looks healthy and full.
Looks so good Lucy! So bouncy and thick! I have thin hair and I always found it looked better shorter
You look amazing!! You look better like this! You’re beautiful either way♥️
Looks great. New fresh look. Love your videos.
This length looks amazing on you 🥰 and it looks so healthy
