I think if you take your time no matter if it's thin or thick it will turn out better. I put more sections in with the hair ties (7 in fact) it helped me and mine isn't thick. But I also cut mine shorter and angled longer in front. Its better I think.
The best method I’ve seen is probably the same as this but with six little pigtails spaced evenly across your head and no layers unless you’re going for that look. But take it from someone who has done a short cut on themselves several times, making the back even and straight like the front is really hard, the shorter you go the harder it is to see what you are doing even in a mirror and the harder it is to cut it haha
I just did this tutorial for myself! Cut 8 inches into a shoulder-skimming bob (going in to cut about an inch and a half/two inches bc it's ever so slightly long for my desires). I sectioned 10 sections; I have relatively thick hair, but also, I just didn't want a single strand overdirected, lol. I was meticulous! And I didn't have to even out anything or make any corrections when I took the sectioning bands out! I can't recommend enough: do a fair few sections, especially in the back! In the back, each half of my hair was in 4 sections, and then I had one section on each front side in front of my shoulders.

I cut my hair about a month ago using his tugorial. I was just going to get a haircut before lockdown and I've been wanting to try cutting my own hair for a really long time and it came out pretty good tbh
I used this tutorial at the beginning of the month. I was really happy with the results. My regularly scheduled haircut appointment for early April was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pause. I have fine hair. I typically don't go any longer than 7 weeks in between cuts because my hair gets damaged so easily. I know to use the proper shears, and to point-cut vs cutting straight across the hair like one would cut paper. BUT I'm so glad I came across Brad's tutorial because I was going to try a tutorial that said to divide the hair into 2 sections. Um, no. That doesn't work - even on fine hair. Thanks for your demo. I think you did well!
First time viewer, and I found you absolutely delightful! I have been a licensed hairdresser for more than 35 years, and decided to peruse RUclips to see what people are putting out there regarding trimming your own hair. Yikes & Wow! Was I in for a shock, and not good! I was very intrigued with your format, as you put up his video while simultaneously following along with his tutorial (Brad Mondo offers excellent videos, all things 'hair'). You have provided an excellent video too, and have explained things in a down to earth, anyone can do it kind of way. You made it simple, thorough (most important part too!) and also enjoyable. The vibrant and beautiful hue of your hair color, combined with the 'thick and straight' base that you're working with, will show every single cut slice and dice on your hair - which makes for an even better demonstration. I do have a thought as to how you could have achieved even better results than you already did. When you began part 2, the layering of the hair - you were suppose to only take off the 'V', which is pretty much right in the center (cutting off the corner), without going deeper, into the rest of it. But personally, I think you did a fantastic job all around, especially teaching the general public. And your hair looked great too. Well done on all fronts!!! As a hairdresser I salute you :)
For the cutting portion or layering portion? And would you just add more sections across the nape of the neck, or would you spilt each section in half and create 2 sections (on top of eachother)?

MAYBE IT WAS JUST ..OOPS,, sorry for caps-- maybe it was just her there.
When quarantine hit I was 3 months into a long in the front short in the back cut that I hated. I used this method to even it out a bit and I was so happy with it.
I'm was planning to attempt to do it tomorrow. But now I'm definitely gonna do it. What perfect timing.😍😍
I did it..and it is a disaster. Forgot I'm not Stella.😑😑
DARK BEAUTY lmao ! same here, didn’t work out so well for me 😂
Wow, i've done It 3 times and it came out perfectly straight all the time
I did it and it worked so Well for me but you have to use two mirror or its impossible to have the same lenght everywhere
I did it too and it worked surprisingly well. But my mom helped me with the hairs in the back and cut uneven parts. It’s easier if you have someone to help you
Mine is choppy af
Super impressed with your sections, especially in the back!
I just cut my hair following this video since my ends were all broken and I can't go to the salon. I kinda managed to make it look good and fix the ends ^^
Girl, it looks good!!! I've seen people who've been to a 'professional' and it didn't even looked half this good!
Brad Mondo's channel was actually where I first saw you!
Same! That was such a good reaction, her hair came out so good!
Stella, you did such a great job cutting your hair! You look so cute :D.
I did exactly the same thing using that exact video. My hair was down to my butt and completely unhealthy and dead...I cut it to just above my collarbone and did the layering as he said. I feel so much lighter...I have chronic migraines and the long hair was making it to where I got them more often and sometimes lasted over the usual 3 days. I don't regret it at all and neither should you. I think yours turned out beautifully. 🙂
He says in beginning to make more sections if u have thick hair:)
I followed this tutorial and it actually turned out pretty good! My mom helped me with the hair in the back and cut uneven parts but it looks decent enough :D
I def saw a difference when you did the layering. I’m pretty sure Brad kept it heeeella simple for us simpletons lmfaoo
Looks so much better with a little texture in it! Cute!
Omg I was waiting for you to try this yesssss❤️❤️❤️❤️
okay, so i'm watchin this now,a nd honestly it wasn't a bad cut on you. You did it as well as you did, if i saw a regular person with no haircutting experience do this, I would be even more impressed.
I already know someone has commented but I'd love to see him react to you and other who have done this but I think he would really enjoy you and I'm calling it now he's gonna comment on her accent 😂 this turned out dope. Loved the video and I'm subscribing ❤🤘🏼😊
Wow I hvnt watched stellacini videos for I think around 2 years n her English has gotten to so great. Plus a hint of her Maltese accent. brilliant girl👍
wow.. I immediately went to the bathroom, f*cked up my hair and cut myself in the finger. what an experience haha
But you survived!
Oh my god 🤣
It's part of the diy experience 😉
Me... you are me.
I relate 🤣😆
I haven't tried this yet and these are reminders of what could go wrong before scissors even touch my head!@@carolynnalvarez7032
I cutted my hair allso this way and love the result ! 🥰
Thank you and @BradMondo
Me:
Mannequin's hair looks great at the start, looks great at the end and your hair looked great at the start, and great at the end... did anything even change and just why lol
Wow I dint know about the hair cut but your charisma and personality make it great to watch...
I recently cut my hair it’s not straight at all but who cares it will eventually grow back out anyway 😂 is someone really going to be like omg girl your hair is an inch or two longer than this other piece
I would be the annoying person who would point tgat out 😂😂😂 even though I have my mum cut my hair, and the last time she didnt cut it straight 😂😂
Hi I'm that person
You are another person without glasses 😍❤️❤️❤️
The blunt haircut looks👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Girl you are hilarious and totally honest!! That is refreshing!!!
Since you weren't too keen on this fit haircut, what are some ones that you would recommmend? I have hair to my bum and I'm getting antsy to cut it.
That tutorial is on point if you really pay attention what Brad says on the video and when you put effort in actual cutting process.
The way you part your hair is so satisfying
I feel a bad decision coming my way. Grazzi, Stella.
Still rewatching this before every haircut. Thank you!! So helpful!
because my hair is, well, dead 😂
it looks good, you did a great job
I did his tutorial on myself and I was really happy with the results. I haven't been able to go to a salon in forever and his tutorial saved me. One thing I can't help but notice about this 'review' is that the woman in this video doesn't really follow his instructions. He even mentions how you need to do more sections if you have thicker hair but her sections looked so off. No wonder why it looked so blunt and bleh on her lol!
STORY TIME: So I tried out Brad's tutorial with my mom. AND I have super thick hair so we split it into 6 sections. When we did that it turned out HORRIBLE!!! ( completly not brads fault its cut the strand werent completly straight and it gave out a layered ugly effect) So my mom tried to fix it all up and it turned out SO SHORT but I love it!!
I love her devil-may-care attitude to hair dying and cutting hahahaha she just goes for it
Love her!
It’s a good time to be wanting to grow your hair out. I don’t need a haircut for another 2 years, I’m going waist length
it is so funny if you said that with your pfp
Not only are you drop dead gorgeous, but what a delight to watch! Great personality and I loved the humour too....
I’m obsessed with your glasses!! 😍 where did you get them?!
Ohhh please ur great at cutting! My mom's licensed and said u did a great job on one of ur videos on the short cut on the wiggggg
When I seen you do that point cutting I couldn't imagine it coming out even and straight but to my surprise it looks really good & you even had a nice swing to it...very interesting technique to say the least
I cut my own bangs using your videos and it doesn't suit me but i don't hate it. I did this because i couldn't get my bday ear piercing and i wanted to do something drastic
So I have been cutting my hair for 2 years myself since hairdressers always F-Ed my layers and I had huge gaps. I went back to the hair salon 3 months ago and guess what. I’ll be cutting it myself again :) gonna try this right now!
Kelly Zwarts i always died and cut my own hair every time I treated my self to a salon dye or cut they always messed it up
priscilla L same! I use Manic Panic hair dye now. Used to use box dye but not doing that again :)
Kelly Zwarts i have a blond brown byladge ( how ever that’s spelled ) with red under tones and I’m actually thinking of putting
Some shade of red or purple over top of what I have now using manic panic just not sure what color yet
Perfect lockdown hair style.. dreadlocks 😁✌️
Omg, she looks so cute while cutting her hair with the specs on the tip of her nose
Stella, I think it looks really good!!! I'mma do mine, my hair is about as long as yours was before you cut it.
I just tried today the haircut that Brad did. And it is AWESOME. It came out perfect. Bearing in mind I have no idea of hair styling. :)
He's like bob ross but haircut 😍🎂😂😂
The blunt straight lines that the scissors make are so satisfying.. Lol..
Me aged 7: BOYS! LOVE THEM🥰🥰🥰
Me now aged 16: 8:56
I’ve been cutting my own hair for the last year with the pigtail method and I’m not going back! It’s free and since I have curls and waves it’s forgiving to any mistakes💕
it looks like she wanted to criticize him since the very beginning...lol
He deserves it
@@gohomo2384 why ;-;
It did??
@@sugastonguetechnologymakes2650 because he says obvious things and thinks he's a GOD and criticize other people who doesnt claim to be pro
when you're a professional you don't need to SCREAM about it
@@gohomo2384 so...he deserves hate for saying he is a professional?? Haters really hatin but ok
U did good! Beautiful hair color!!🧡
The rolling eyes tells she is not a big Brando’s fan even tho her words are “I love Brando “ idk 😂😂😂
You look amazing with the orange hair.
POV: Your looking for Brad mondos comment.
