I am 67 years young and when I was 18 and a senior in high school, we actually cut our hair just like this, and we did it ourselves! This is one of my favorite hairstyles on you!❤️
@@latinbutterfly01 Remember to only layer the top sections if you don't want to lose thickness at the bottom or to keep more volume / thickness in general. You achieve that by sectioning the part you don't want to cut, probably at top of ears level (you can always layer more later, but you can't unlayer the hair that's gone back 🙂). Round layers done by someone else might be a bit softer than using the ponytail technique. Look for a professional with a good portfolio on the exact cut/effect you want with the type of hair you got. 😇 Have fun!
I like butterfly cuts (or wolf cuts or shags) air dried. They look edgy and effortless and textured…especially if you have some amount of wave in your hair.
I got that „style“ of a cut in a calligraphy cut done and my thick curly hair loves it, with curls and also in a blow out. Very nice bounce and volume at the right places. Also nice way to show us how it is done. You are so great in explaining things, thank you stella for your work !❤ P.s that color looks phenomenal on you 💜💜
Weirdly I tried the butterfly last week!! I did have to go over the face framing layers afterwards and connect them, but its resulted in a nice thick layered haircut. I actually prefer how my hair looks compared with when I go the salon! I also got my boyfriend to check the back to make sure I didnt miss anything.
The double Stella, great 👍 As for the 1 million subscribers, just made my son and husband subscribe because you deserved it a long time ago, and I just love you ❤️💞
Stella you are so dang talented girl. And your growth with editing is so apparent. I don’t watch many people on RUclips, but I get so hype anytime you upload something lol. Hope you’re doing well!
Love seeing you rock this cut Stella, it's gorgeous with the many shades of colour in the layers. The "twin" was a fun and creative way to be mesmerised by your talent and beauty 😍🥰 and the colour changing nails are so hypnotising 🤩 My hair is too thin for this haircut so I do a shagg with not so much face framing and more layers at the back from the front and down. It's been almost 10 years now without going to a salon and I love to experiment on my own with different cuts and styles. Now I'm thinking about a layered lob, so this week the plan is to cut my hair and refresh the dark brown and green colour. We'll see what comes out 😅 Wish me luck 😅 I'll need it 🫣🙈
Can confirm that many scalp scrubs on the market currently are great for getting dye staining off of skin (scalp, hands, etc.). I use the Christophe Robbin one all the time. Doesn't work on nails though, so if you get dark or brightly colored dye on light colored gel tips, acrylics, etc., it's gonna stick around for awhile.
First of all: I love the way you made this video, it's so fun to watch and a nice twist to your usual editing and filming style. Second of all: you're so crazy beautiful And lastly: I love this hairstyle on you. Unfortunately I do have a small face, also a slightly short face and never look right in such hairstyles. I need something that's less "wide" and less heavy. Wispy layers and ends, soft blending and texturing works perfectly for me personally. But this exact shape of layers isn't working too well on me (especially the weight of that fringe would just not do my face any favor. In photos such things always work out due to posing and camera angles, but irl... nah, forget about it. Luckily I know which hairstyles work for me, I just need to find one I really love all the way and don't get bored with too fast xD
I just bleached my hair a week ago and plan to put purple over once it starts looking bad and grow out natural brunette and your hair here embodies my end goal ❤ The brown hair looks so nice on you btw!
i loved loved loved this video , and the hair and the fact that it is longer honestly would love to see more longer videos and vlogs bc ur such an amazing person to watch
First time seeing someone do it on wet hair. Usually I see girls parting their dry hair and cut directly. This is so much professional and too your time. Always enjoy your profi explanations. Btw, very adorable Stella on Stella talk 😅😅 kinda like me, looking in the mirror 🪞
The butterfly haircut and blow out was still a 70's hairstyle. An example was Farrah Fawcett. This hairstyle didn't really have a name but it was popular in that era. Then it came back in the 90's. They called the hair cut "short layers" and now in this era, the all it either the "wolf cut" or butterflie" hair style.
You did it again❤ Absolutely stunning. I really like both ways to style, but the second one with the big barrel curling iron is perfection! Now, you have to start working on the hair styling products, and get them on the market!!
Dare I say curling a butterfly shag cut is so much more pleasing than the straight blunt hair cut, Brad Mondos tutorial gives off the same look in two cuts and then small snips to connect the style, does your way of doing a butterfly cut just adds an extra layer then BM’s? 🤔either way it’s the same vibe just sayin 😊
This one allows more control over the cut, especially towards the length of the hair. Brads method is great because it’s literally just two cuts but really doesn’t offer any flexibility and if you get one of the cuts wrong…very hard to fix. This is just more customizable!
I have to try! Been watching you forever! I love the behind the scenes look! You should do vlogs I’m not sure if you do on a different channel but that would be fun to watch! Love you!
I know theyre not in this video, but youve been sampling a red, blue, and yellow semi permanent formula and if youre thinking of starting with releasing the primary colors only, you should look into yellow, cyan, and magenta bc youre all about vibrant colors! They can make red and blue and some even refer to them as the true primary colors for pigment mixing
I absolutley LOVE LOVE LOVE your chanel, your hair, your personality, and your view on hair and hair colour. I always learn so much from your videos. I love the long hair, love the hair extentions. The cut looks nice, but the second style not so much. Maybe it needed to be brushed out more or something, but I just felt like it made the line between your actual hair and the extentions so exagerated.Maybe its just me, maybe it was the style or the camera view? I dunno. But the first style looked better, like it really blended everything in. Just my opinion, no intention to offend here.
As someone with a long face but fine hair, I find no haircut suits me! I need wide but my hair falls flat all the time. Currently have a blunt long bob and curtain bangs and I hate it 😅
I do this cut on myself. Side part, curly hair. I also do it on my oldest daughter. Straight, thick, middle part. It looks great on both of us! But I tried it on my middle daughter. Very thick, aggressively straight. Did not get my curls at all. It looked terrible. The layers would not blend. So we didn't do it again.
I appreciate she washed her scalp and ends.. I am tired of ppl just washing their scalp and that's it lol... Like if you use products in your hair.... Everything needs to be washed and conditioned
I don't understand why people with nice thick hair don't appreciate what they have. i always wanted to have long hair but i can't grow it. I think that i need to visit a trichologist(
It's because we kept being told our hair looked ugly, unkept, wild. Specially people with wavy hair, because brushing it makes it shapeless and frizzy, so the only way to look "presentable" was to straight it out. Beauty patterns are a b1tch. I'm so happy that now people embrace different types of hair more, but jn my case, I still don't love my own hair if it's not styled with hot tools.
We all tend to want what we can’t have. I haven’t seen my own hair color in years because I’m looking for new things to try and thick hair can be difficult to work with on a daily basis so it’s easier for people to find ways to make their hair thinner or shorter
It's so easy to say. People with thick hair can make it thinner and turn situation back, but people with thin hair will never have something different. But your body - your choice, surely
@@annakutacheva from one thin haired girly to another - couldn’t agree more! The only option to make it look fuller is something that will eventually damage it or rip it out making the problem worse (clip on extensions, tape in etc) But I guess if I had as thick of hair as Stella I would probably do the same, hair can be so much fun but not for the ones who don’t have as much to play with. I would gladly give a kidney for naturally thicker hair
I was planning on doing this, but since I have short (above shoulder length), very fine and flat hair, I guess now I won’t. Back to being completely lost
I personally like layered haircuts on short hair. Maybe you should try it. :) Layers will give you more volume which you need to as a person who has fine hair. Good luck! ❤
@@StellaCini I did in 2020, I looked so terrible. I do not have the face shape at all for such short hair. In my experience, I need at least chin-length, or the bottom half of my face looks almost swollen
@@whatheduck96 it’s so confusing. Some say we need layers for volume. Some say we need blunt cuts so hair won’t look thin. It can’t be both, so wtf I was also hoping to grow my hair long again, but it grows so slow too, I don’t wanna waste my time if it’s doomed to look terrible, you know?
@@ChiiKitten I see, in my experience layered haircuts works better than one length haircuts. I tried bob, and my hair looked so thin (from top). emmm ok adored the editing but cant help but think the cut kinda more showed off the fact its extencions . it gave more bulk and weight to where the natural hair stopped and took the thickness from the ends where it was needed coz naturally has such thick hair , idk maybe next video ill be eating my words lol
