This is the best tutorial I've ever found! Immediately went to the bathroom and finally cut my hair the way I've been wanting for years! Thank you so much! lol I didn't have any long enough clips when I did it, so I ended up having to use 2 popsicle sticks and clipping the sticks around my hair. Worked amazingly!
Professional or not, looks absolutely stunning and to be honest, it's even better then some professional cuts I have seen. You truly are talented. Gorgeous!! Look forward to seeing the new color you will do for this new style. Take care.
Best haircut tutorial IMHO on RUclips. I love the style and I agree with so many ladies that sometimes we say one thing to our stylist and yet they still manage to do something else with as little 'detailing' as possible. Time for my own cut and I am gonna try the flexibility test. Should be fun. Cheers!
I just followed this tutorial to cut my hair and worked perfectly, I asked my husband to help me out with the back a bit. It came out great! Love my haircut, thanks for sharing this amazing technique! ❤️
Girl, I was saying the exact same thing to myself. I cut my hair using his guide, sectioning off my hair in 4 parts... it DID NOT come out evenly at all. Lol I was struggling trying to get my hair to look "semi straight." I cut my hair shorter using the technique in this video and it was so much easier and came out even.
I think brad’s method probably works better for longer styles tbh. Especially since he’s playing it safe and trying to share very simple techniques if you just want a basic cut and not trying to do anything drastic with the length. That being said, I’m definitely about to try out my cut following this video! Since it’s so much closer to the style I’m going for it makes more sense.
Thank you for your detailed videos! I used this video as a starting point, but found I was not as talented as you with trying to use clips in the back and twist my arm to get a straight cut. Instead I used a technique you showed in a different video by parting my hair into three sections directing from just behind the ears forward on both sides and then putting a ponytail in the very back and blunt cutting it that way. I took electric clippers to the end of the blunt cut to clean it up. Then I blended the shorter back into the longer front with the angles on both sides. I cut off over 10 inches today and it feels great. I don’t think I would have been brave enough to try it without your detailed videos!
Just wanted to add to the pile of "this works" comments! I cut mine a little shorter, and this technique worked perfectly. I did skip the initial pigtail cut since my starting length was a little shorter than hers. I also cut my hair completely wet after showering. Still got the same results if you were thinking of doing the same! Thank you so much for posting this. I had been waffling on cutting my own hair short for a while, and this video gave me the push to finally do it. Chopped off six inches with confidence!
My partner and I used this method so that he could cut my hair (in quarantine). It turned out wonderfully, thank you! Also, you are so talented... I can't imagine doing this by myself.
You did an awesome job! I'm a Cosmetologist and it is very hard to do your own cut like that. You did a better cut on your own than I have gotten by a professional.
this is the best method! i’ve cut my hair this way (and am in no way a professional) I’m lucky and understood a bit about hair from watching and learning from my hair stylist in the past but for people who don’t know a good way to cut their hair this is it!! you explained it so perfectly too you’re an amazing teacher!
I finally tried cutting my hair after watching this tutorial. I have watched your other tutorials but was too scared to do it. But I'm happy that I was brave today and cut it. Usually my husband doesn't like it when I have my hair cut short but this time was an exception! He thought it looked nice and was surprised that I did it. Thanks so much for posting this video and inspiring me to try to cut my hair on own ❤
Thinning shears actually will take length off if you snip the same section multiple times. As long as you don’t go crazy with them though, they’re pretty safe and can help a lot with making softer lines!! She really did a nice job on her cut. I love the curls too! 👍🏻👍🏻
I've never seen it done this way. I was worried about have my ends uneven in the back. But now I see how it works. I just have to get some of those clips you used on the back of your hair. That's a great idea. I'm learning a lot from your videos. In quarantine I need to find out what method will be easier for me to do my hair.
Thanks, great tips great tutorial! I've also always cut my own hair. Many were experiments when I was a teen & young adult. I'm a bit older now but still enjoy cutting my own hair. It makes me happy so I love to see better ways & techniques I can try on my own
Glad I saw this. I'm a professional hairstylist but it still is not easy cutting your own hair. I like the idea of the duckbil clips holding the hair in place. Didn't think of that lol! This quarantine is long and who knows when they will let us back to work. Thanks for the video!
I had been trimming my hair for a while now, cutting the ends (puntas) to make it grow and look healthier. The way I was doing it bringing it all to the front, gave it that layered U/V shape. I didn't mind it. Then I decided to cut off more, the parched looking eww- ness and looked up How to do it and you came up. In this video you explained it so easily. Thanks a hundred.
I am a professional and I think you did a great job! Since I’m sheltering in place, I may try this. I’ve always felt comfortable trimming my own bangs but not the back.
I actually cut about 2 inches off my hair this morning, but this video makes me want to cut it shorter like hers. Of course she is absolutely stunning and looks great with shorter hair. I can’t guarantee that I will look as good as she does.
I subscribed because of this video! I absolutely cannot afford a stylist, and this is going to help me so much in styling and cutting my hair myself!!! If I'm going to do it myself, then at least I could get some great advice from an inspiring stylist! Thank you so much for creating this, because I do not have much of a choice other than doing my own hair on my tight budget!
Whaou! you rock girl, you're really gifted. As I'm french and confined at home too, the temptation of the scissors is high. I've been watching a lot of video and you've got the best technique, I've ever seen so far, like a pro, really. I give it to you the french way : Tu déchires !
love this! I cut my own hair for years before I went to hair school too because I had a stylist cut off 9 months of pregnancy growth, because she was too busy talking crap (with another stylist... so unprofessional) about a stylist that wasn't currently there, to pay attention to what I asked for... a trim! That on top of previous horrible cuts from past stylists, lead and to figure it out on my own and eventually go to hair school. Now it's been years since I've done it myself, since I found great stylists and friends when I went to hair school, but with the coronavirus, and the fact I'm now a 100% disabled army veteran, I needed a refresher before doing this myself again. So THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!
Hi 👋 I’m cutting my hair for years and this straight cut technique is just stuning !!! I’m still watching but it will be perfect for sure 🙏 Thanks I willl try. Thank you for posting 🙌❤️🎉
You all think you have hair problems? I haven't been to my hair stylist in a year. I grew it out grey roots and all. Now that I want a color and cut, guess what?!? Everyone is closed. Pandemic! cut happening here tomorrow. Hair grows back but your life and health aint worth the risk. This is the way a pro cuts hair. Great job and thanks for the great video. That cut looks great Girl. 👍
I'm a professional hair stylist and I'm super impressed 😁 this look is dope and I probably will try this on myself during this quarentine we're in here, lol, idk, we'll see 😂
This is actually exactly how I trim my own hair, but I never thought of using hair clips to get a nice straight line across the back, so thank you for that! I started cutting my own hair a couple of years ago after discovering your channel and have saved a ton of money as a result. I will try adding some soft long layers like you did here the next time I trim my bob. :)
This tutorial was amazing! I’m going to use it this weekend to cut my hair! I’m just trimming an already cut a-line bob so I think this will make that a million times easier!
Since so many people I know are staying home during COVID and can't get to a hair dresser, I shared your video on Face Book. I cut my own hair all the time, but if people have family members in lock down with them, they can cut each other's hair. I thought your video was easy to follow. Thanks!
I trimmed my hair last month. You did a really good job and I love your color. I big chopped 2 years ago myself and wetting it really helped see the different textures
I swear you are a hair styling psychic! I followed your other self cut video and I loved it. The past month or so I have wanted EXACTLY this cut! I can't wait to try it out! It looks fantastic!!!!!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I have just cut my hair for the very first time in my life and I’m 32. ;) (With a little help from my Husband.) I’m happy with the way it turned out and just wish I hadn’t waited this long! 💕
Girl u helped me alot. It was actually my first time cutting my hair and it came out pretty good. Gotta admit I only did the first step because like you said my hand didn't reach all the way like that but other than that I'm happy w the results. I saved $30.
This looks stunning ❤❤❤, I cut my own hair....haven't been to any salon for last 6 or 7 years or so for anything on earth.... but I can never ever do this what you did.... I am actually a home professional Haha... so a straight cut is always good for me
This is one of the better diy haircut videos out there! You are showing us clearly how it's done, but you're also realistic about why it's challenging. The lighting and camera work is also really nice. We can see what you're doing. I just cut my own hair last week, and it came out better than I expected.
I just wanted to come back on here and thank you. I just trimmed my hair by combining tips from a few of your hair cutting videos. i didn't trim a whole lot off of it. Maybe half an inch. But my hair is a little past my shoulders with some layering. It looks just about as good as what my hair stylist had done. Hoping i can get better at it so i don't ever have to rely on anyone else to cut it. I can't find anybody to get it how i like it. They do fine but it's just never quite how i hoped it would turn out. My favorite stylist moved away so I've been having a hard time getting my hair right.
Only way to do it. On your own. I’ve tried asking my husband to help. Explained in detail how and why it’s done in layers. I always get the same, “ Do you want me to help or not?” answer. Then he wants to loosely comb it down and cut it all at once, trying over and over to “ straighten it a bit” as it gets shorter and shorter. You did a fabulous job.
I just moved to another state, went to a hair salon and they did a sorry job, payed lots for it but it came out not the way I wanted, ofcourse they always have excuses, but it even looked close to what I wanted, so after many years cutting my own hair, I will do that again, when I cut my own hair, it looks so much better, you did a great job with your hair, better then a professional stylist, super
Thank youuuuuu! I need to try this tomorrow. I wanted to go short for the summer , so now I’ll do it myself ya know self isolation, stir crazy .. quartined on lockdown. Take care! 💜💜💜
Thank You for making and sharing this video. You cut your hair the same exact length I've been wanting to cut my hair and the technique you used was awesome. I tried cutting my hair using Brad Mondo's guide and idk if I messed up somewhere, but it did not come out even. I was getting frustrated and finally was able to even it as best as I could. (I still wanted my hair shorter) I seen your video and realized you had the same length I had and you were cutting it the length that I wanted, so I gave it another shot using the technique you showed in your video...... ahhh.. it came out amazingly. Thank you so much for sharing this video. BTW. You are so beautiful and your hair looks absolutely STUNNING!!! 🤩😍🤗
Awesome video. Just love it. I been wondering how to cut the back 4 yrs. U r awesome. Tyvm. Totally impresse ps. Last stylist chopped my hair worst than a 2 yr old. So I been waiting to learn to get my groove back. Hugs n so glad I found you.
It looks beautiful! I love all the color and tones of your hair, all the way down to the dark. The lavender is beautiful especially at the end after you curled it. Well done! Can’t wait to try it when it gets a bit longer. Thank you for showing how to do it. I love cutting my own hair too but haven’t really known how to do the back on my own.
Thank you for the video! I haven't had a haircut since Jan 2020 😭 your video is very helpful and I'll be trying it out on my own to get the dead ends gone and a fresh cut I can say I did it on my own 😁
Honestly it is so good that it looks Like Professional cut comparing to other types of Diy haircut. I will definitely trying this on my hair 👍👌 Love your Chanel ❤️🙋🏻♀️ And please could you do video on hairstyling with straightener the one you did here in this video is great. Hello from France 🇫🇷
Those clips make all the difference! I did a 3 ponytail method because I just wanted it done and my hair has enough texture it's forgiving but this will be great to clean it up a bit! (I totally snipped a finger!🤣)
So glad I found this video. it is exactly what I want on my hair. I need a new style lol I also cut my own hair too and my daughters. I love this cut! I will probably leave it a little longer because my face is round (fat lol) so I think I need more length in the front.
Desperately needed a haircut and since we are SIP, RUclips was the next best thing. Ha!! watched many videos and decided to follow yours. I went for it this morning and it’s not too shabby! I have never cut my own hair (except in the early 90s for my bangs and that didn’t turn out well) but all your tips definitely helped and avoided the “v” cut! I probably need to do more fine tuning but since I curl it most of the time and I’m not really going anywhere, it’ll do for now. Thank you so much!!
Me too. Idk what it is about this staying home thing but I’ve got so much stress and anxiety everyday from the load of shit I have to deal with, I don’t know what else to do. It’s like chopping my long hair is the only light at the end of the tunnel right now.
Yeah your hair looks freaking AMAZING shorter. I'm not really drawn to short hair ever, but my goodness every video of yours is so beautiful. Your face agrees with it. 😍
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. I followed the tutorial (minus the clips because I didn't have them) and LOVE my hair after everything is said and done. ❤
I love it. It came out Amazing. Especially, that hair color 😍 makes it stand out more. I have been cutting my own hair for 2yrs now. It was nerve racking at first but I enjoy watching other ways as well. Thank you !
Amazing! Can't wait to try this. I did a bob before by putting a hair tie at the very bottom of the back of my neck and it was great, but now it's growing out I need to fix it up. Great tutorial 😁
Your hand coordination while working via a mirror is insane good. Every move I make I have to self adjust about 15 times before I can commit to the cut lol
I wanted to add that the reason this is such a great tutorial and final result because of the professional training and knowledge she has and the way she explains how and why to cut things to create the look. Don't go into a cut like this on your own without understanding the technical aspects!!!
Wow so good... not gonna lie.. I am so tempted after watching this but also sooo scared! I’ve had long hair forever but I am currently preggers and I honestly can’t stand how much hair I have right now.... eeeekkkkk! Eff it, I think I’m gonna go for it 😬
You did great! I am playing with my hair. I did a bob cut and ended up with the long front pieces, as you mentioned. I have invested in good scissors now and will use this info as a guide to completing the cut the way I want. Thanks for sharing
I am in love! Thank you for doing a short self done cut. I'm saving all the money I can for my prosthesis below the knee. Even though I have my license I'm isolated and homebound atm. Sooo off to use this video to do mine! Pretty excited! I'm going to try videoing myself just to see how I do!
I have been a hairstylist 34 yrs. you did an amazing job using a mirror and one hand wow.
Quarantine?
= time to cut your hair!
unknown x I cannot get the back straight 😳
Oh don't tempt me . I have been eyeing my scissors. 💇♀️
@@HeyYallItsEmily yeah I almost broke my arms while I was trying to fix that xD
I'm going to try this but I will ask my kids to help me out 😂 I have t-rex arms lol
unknown x exactly what i was thinking
This is the best tutorial I've ever found! Immediately went to the bathroom and finally cut my hair the way I've been wanting for years! Thank you so much!
lol I didn't have any long enough clips when I did it, so I ended up having to use 2 popsicle sticks and clipping the sticks around my hair. Worked amazingly!
I'm thinking of doing the same!!!
Professional or not, looks absolutely stunning and to be honest, it's even better then some professional cuts I have seen. You truly are talented. Gorgeous!! Look forward to seeing the new color you will do for this new style. Take care.
And done on herself at that! 👍🏻
Exactly! 👍
I always come out of the hair salon disappointed... I will try this today ❤️💙💓
Cheers!
The girl is a professional hair dresser..
This looks better than haircuts I have paid a lot of money for and hated. You did a stunning job
I just followed this tutorial to cut my hair and worked perfectly, I asked my husband to help me out with the back a bit. It came out great! Love my haircut, thanks for sharing this amazing technique! ❤️
this works better than brad mondo's way. I tried his first and my line wasn't straight. So I switched to using Sharee's way. Works waaay better!
Girl, I was saying the exact same thing to myself. I cut my hair using his guide, sectioning off my hair in 4 parts... it DID NOT come out evenly at all. Lol I was struggling trying to get my hair to look "semi straight."

I did this by myself after watching 2 of your videos and frankly, it looks good! Thank you for your excellent technique!

wow, it turned out extremely well for a one-hand DIY short haircut!
I'm totally going to do this because the lady I went to was so rough on my hair and I just don't want to fork out the $$ anymore. Thank you!! 💓✨
You are my go to girl when I cut my own hair. Love your techniques and not afraid to try anything you try! 😊
I've never seen it done this way. I was worried about have my ends uneven in the back. But now I see how it works. I just have to get some of those clips you used on the back of your hair. This is the way a pro cuts hair. Great job and thanks for the great video. That cut looks great Girl. 👍

Haha yes, I'm socially isolated and cutting my hair 👍 I did the first step and I'm taking a break to fix up the rest with layering and point cutting.
Thank you so much for posting this. I just cut off my “quarantine hair” and it came out awesome!!! Thank you!!!
This is one of the better diy haircut videos out there! You are showing us clearly how it's done, but you're also realistic about why it's challenging. The lighting and camera work is also really nice. We can see what you're doing.
I just cut my own hair last week, and it came out better than I expected.
I’m glad that you like the video 😊
Now that's a proper tutorial on cutting your own hair. Good job.
That’s it. I’m cutting my hair also lol
I want to so bad but I'd end up a fail lmao

YOUR CHANNEL ROCKS GIRL, YOU SHOW THE BEST DETAILS, DESCRIPTIONS AND RESULTS MORE THAN ANY OTHER!
THANK YOU FOR BEING REAL AND HUMAN
STAY COOL CAT!
Oh lol that’s “husbands” for you 😄
Thank you 😊
Girl your color is bomb! You're a busy stylist its normal that we don't respect our heads like we do our client's! We're too busy! You look adorable.
You are adorable and wildly talented. Wonderful tutorial!!! Thank you!🥰
I just moved to another state, went to a hair salon and they did a sorry job, payed lots for it but it came out not the way I wanted, ofcourse they always have excuses, but it even looked close to what I wanted, so after many years cutting my own hair, I will do that again, when I cut my own hair, it looks so much better, you did a great job with your hair, better then a professional stylist, super

Thank You for making and sharing this video. You cut your hair the same exact length I've been wanting to cut my hair and the technique you used was awesome.
Thanks for posting this video! Just tried your technique yesterday and my hair looks great! It’s actually easier than I expected.
This is definitely one of my favorite haircuts to do on clients!!!
I haven't had a haircut since Jan 2020 😭 your video is very helpful and I'll be trying it out on my own to get the dead ends gone and a fresh cut I can say I did it on my own 😁
Y’all... I followed the tutorial (minus the back part lmao that looks way too hard) and it actually worked really well!
This is pretty amazing and looks perfect, it's gorgeous! Thank you for the tutorial on this cut, I'm so impressed!
Those clips make all the difference! I did a 3 ponytail method because I just wanted it done and my hair has enough texture it's forgiving but this will be great to clean it up a bit! (I totally snipped a finger!🤣)
I could never ... if I did it I would find a way to jack it up....but I always enjoy watching your hair tutorials 😊
So glad I found this video. it is exactly what I want on my hair. I need a new style lol
I also cut my own hair too and my daughters.
Beautiful job! I'm a stylist and am now tempted to do this to my hair.
When you graduate cosmetology school, I want to be your first client.
I am already taking clients 😊
I would so love to see her do client videos as well

Just chopped my hair because of you and i absolutely love it! 😘😍
Did you nailed it? I am worried to fail it and cut too short and not straight
I need this. It's too risky to go out right now.
Also, if we fail, we don't have to go to work the next day ... And salons that are still open are sure to have time for an emergency visit. ^^
Me too. Idk what it is about this staying home thing but I’ve got so much stress and anxiety everyday from the load of shit I have to deal with, I don’t know what else to do. It’s like chopping my long hair is the only light at the end of the tunnel right now.

I will cut mine today , I wanted to do it for a long time I came across to this video ... and give me hope!!!
Thank you !
Thanks. This is helping me cut my hair today after 3+ months of no cut during quarantine.
This cut is a great choice for your face and hair texture.
Quarantine breakdowns got me wanting to cut my hair
DO IT! LOL im heavily thinking of doing this tonight haha
@@AMANRA3 tomorrow for me...this cut rocks
I cut mine😅😂 a little bit shorter
Amazing! Can't wait to try this. I did a bob before by putting a hair tie at the very bottom of the back of my neck and it was great, but now it's growing out I need to fix it up. Great tutorial 😁
Nice! I have been cutting my hair and I love it. On a galloping horse, who's going to know? And, I don't get scalped! Keep going! 👏👏👏
Loveee the colour!! Showing us how to do it properly, time for me to throw away the kitchen scissors! x
Wow you did a great job! Better then the professional hair cut I got today, she cut my bob all uneven!
Thank you
I wish I can fix it for u
You did a great job. I think the purple pops more with this cut 💜
Thanks 😊
Sharee Anonuevo you’re welcome 💜😉
You inspired me to go short today, so I followed your tips and I love my hair.
I love your cut! It is exactly how I want to do mine.I can't bend my arm like you so will have to figure t out.thanks Sharee!!
It was a challenge lol
Your hand coordination while working via a mirror is insane good. Every move I make I have to self adjust about 15 times before I can commit to the cut lol
Been years of practice on doing my own hair
I'm a professional hairstylist and this is great. I'm gonna do this on myself soon because I miss my blunt bob
I wanted to add that the reason this is such a great tutorial and final result because of the professional training and knowledge she has and the way she explains how and why to cut things to create the look. Don't go into a cut like this on your own without understanding the technical aspects!!!
I love your hair long and purple it looks pretty short but I love it long and the purple touch oh man !
Pfftt... I'm a professional and I think it looks professional ❣
I love your DIY haircut videos. Thank you!
Ever since i started watching you I've been cutting my own hair!
looks good. who would dislike it? i needed a technique like this bc my hair is thicc like whoa, so i need that layer by layer to get A line cut
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 watched this like 3 times and after 1.5hrs I have shorter hair!! Thank you for the easy to understand tutorial!!
Thanks for sharing
great idea using those clips!
It looks pretty damn professional to me. You did a fabulous job!
Awesome Cut! I always do my own hair too! This was a great video!"
Love this, Sharee. Your hair looks terrific. Thanks for this.
wow I'm going to have really tired arms by the end of this but hell thats a good look lady.
It looks beautiful and I love the colors. Thanks for sharing.
💕
You did a great job! The shorter hair looks so stylish and pretty.
this is the best do it yourself video I've seen yet, and I've seen a LOT of videos. thanks for doing this, I think your hair looks fab!
Yep I agree. It looks great too.
