I admit, before I watched this I was very worried for you because I am a hairstylist and ALWAYS get people who tried cutting their own hair and failed. But you SLAYED! I am super impressed!!! Great job!
I have fine thin baby hair..super sliky and smooth. It takes me literally 1 minute to cut it like she did in the video lol. Half her hair (2 of her pony tails) is my whole head of hair
My 17 year old granddaughter cut my hair using this technique! It came out FABULOUSLY! I did the front differently as I wanted curtain bangs. I used a different tutorial for them. I also left the side section in front of my ears an inch longer than the rest. It is NOT tapered. It just drops down an inch. For the bangs and one inch drop I followed HARMONIZE BEAUTY on RUclips. Oh! She divided my hair into more sections but used your technique for the length each time. She felt the sections were too thick and would be too hard to cut through. I’m 74 and my hair is silver. And the cut is AWESOME SQUARED!!!! We are all THRILLED! You are AWESOME!🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖
Never caught it, Mayra, I am just fearful of going out. Still, thanks a lot for caring about a stranger. You have a good soul. I hope you and your loved ones are fine too.
This method makes a lot more sense for people with thicker hair. The times I've seen people who only have the two bunches, getting frustrated and end up hacking rather than simply cutting through their hair. Then the cut usually ends up uneven. Looks great well done.
If anybody wondering if this actually works, it DOSE!!! I cut my hair exactly like the way she did and it turned out great 👍🏻 , i suggest asking someone to cut the back sections for u , and thank you so so so much 💕💕
Sara Albaker I’m soooo happy to hear that it worked for you too 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽!!! Yes, it’s easier when someone helps with the back ponytails lol you’re welcome!!!
It's really nice to see a pro be supportive of an amateur. So many times I've seen hairdressers be critical of anything we do to our own hair at home. There are some positives of this pandemic! Many Blessings to you both ❤🙏
Best tutorial I’ve followed for an at home haircut! I have very thick hair and this totally worked on me and I get compliments almost daily on the cut even three months grown out. Thanks for saving me loads of time and money.
I DID IT, Angelica!! I've watched so many videos and this was the only one that made perfect sense to me [especially banding multiple sections in the back]. I watched this three times, went out and bought a good pair of shears, and did it! it looks terrific! EXACTLY what I wanted. I can't thank you enough. Keep it up!
I followed this and my hair turned out great and exactly straight across and even ☺️. I’ve also seen so many fail videos of people trying to cut their own hair and have been scared of cutting my own. The other tutorials that I’ve seen always use the one ponytail method at the top of the head, but my problem with that method is that it creates layers which I didn’t want. Your explanation for why this method works was great and once again thank you so much
I have never cut my own hair before, but due to corona and very dead ends, I decided to go ahead and cut like 3 inches off using this method, and it worked perfectly! And if anyone reading this is scared and debating on whether or not to do it, just go for it! Hair grows and it’ll make for a fun quarantine experience lol.
Ok...so...I have watched so many tutorials to get this done, and HANDS DOWN, this has been the best I've found so far! Your hair looks friggin amazing! I'm so excited to try it on mine right now. You made it look simple and accomplishable! Thank you so much!
It's Feb 2023.. I'm gonna do it, I did this cut with all the elastics myself during covid. Decided a couple of days ago, I'll do it again and save some cash, started looking for this procedure and yours is so great! I can do it!!! 🤞 Also, we have exactly the same hair, which helps
I look forward to trying this over the weekend. Reading the comments only encourages me more. If you have a bad hair day, it affects the rest of your day. Do you know what I mean? A good hair cut gives you that confidence that is already inside each of us. When my hair was long, and somewhat layered I cut it myself for well over 10 years.... I went short back in 2017.... I have gone through many stylist only to make it too thick at the bottom (bozo hair). My hair is pretty much straight, but I put a wave in it to appear fuller. I love the end product of what she accomplished. Bravo to you Angelica for sharing!!
I followed your tutorial yesterday and cut my own hair for the very first time. It came out so well! I am very happy with the results. Thank you so much for sharing! :)
I cut my hair myself using this video a couple of months ago! It has been life changing for me, so much easier for me to manage my hair at shoulder length!!! Thank you so much for posting this tutorial! 🤗❤
You’re so smart!!! I’m cutting my hair for 8 years and I was yet to find out the best way to cut straight across until I watched you! Cutting hair straight across is the most difficult one since you can’t make a mistake without getting noticed
Wow this is exactly how I want my hair, everytime I go to a "professional" I never get what I want. You really did a great job!! I'm gonna try ur technique ASAP thanks👍😊
I have 3 children under 6 years, one of them is a baby, 3 mos. Sooo when i found this tutorial, try it and not failed, then aaaaa... i just wanna say thank you so much. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Excellent job!! My hair is almost waist length and I’ve watched so many self hair cut videos that I can’t even count. This one actually gave me some confidence that I might actually be able to do this! Thank you!
I followed another video that only used two sections. It came out beautiful but next time I will definitely be following yours. The extra two ties make sense to make it a little more even
I think one of the best things that came out of lockdown was learning how to cut my own hair! Thank you for this video! I am saving SO much money & time and my hair looks just as good as if going to the salon - awesome!
Your video is by far THE BEST diy video I've seen!! I totally agree with you about the back with the pig tails 😱. And then you for showing the back, too!
Great video, thanks. I cut my hair in lockdown about 2 months ago and I sectioned it into 4. I will try with 6 this week so thanks for the tip. I love cutting my own hair now. Be careful though, its a little addictive. Now all I want to do is to learn to texture the ends and I'll be even happier. Good Luck everyone,
WITH YOUR HELP, I CUT MY HAIR INTO A SHORT BOB. I was so nervous to do this right before a big vacation. But it turned out beautiful. I watched so many videos and this one several times. I love the sectioning and small ponytails. It keeps the hair so smooth and easy cut to at the right length. My hair is very thin so my ponytails were very thin, but it still worked great. I have been trimming my own hair since the Pandemic but this is the first time I actually attempted a real style. Thank you so much for making this video. I saved big $$$.
Hey girl! I've been impulsively trying out different diy haircut techniques for years and by far your tutorial turned out to be THE BEST result! Lovin' my new cut so much. THANK YOU!! 😍😍😍
I did it, did three sections pony tailed with back a little shorter, side longer and cut back straight across and sides at an angle. Went back and evened out btw the front and back sections as the front were a little longer still want a little more a line so I think I’m going to split my hair into two sides and angle a little mor from back to front with scissors. Seems to work well
I tried your cutting today! It is even shorter then your hair in the video, but I love it!! It worked!!!! My mom could not tell I did not went to a barbershop! I had a bit to cut at the back aftterwards, but not much. I'm so happy with the result!! Now waiting what my Husband and daughter will think when they get home..lol.
Thank you! I’ve tried cutting my hair numerous times. All failed. I was going to find a place today, but saw your vid instead. It worked out great! No better or worse than great clips would have done. Thank you! I will do it this way from now on. Very clever.
WOW - your idea of splitting into 6 ponytails came outPERFECT! So much better than pulling 2 toward the front. Looks really good!!! Thanks for posting this videa❣️
Ok so i did cut my hair yesterday by watching another video and i got messed up. Thankgod i didnt cut shorter. I wanted to go to salon today to correct my mistake but i by chance watched ur video and convince myself to do it again with ur technique and guess what, it worked and i am in love with my short hair now. Tons of thankyu ❤️
"I did a pretty good job" no you did a SUPERB job. How the heck did you do that? That is just WONDERFUL. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless your eyes. I don't think I would have done that with that precision.
I tried this and I have like twice the hair you have. I have a LOT of hair. However, this worked beautifully. I love it. Nailed it and saved myself some cash. Thanks!
I used your tutorial today! I LOVE MY HAIR! I'm quarantined in Italy and couldn't stand my long hair anymore, so I looked up a tutorial for cutting it decently and I found you! It came out SO good! Thank you ❤️❤️
M.A. P my mother helped with the two strands in the back, but beside that I gotta say it's definitely doable! But of course, it's understandable if you rather not risk it ahahah, I did because I've done much worse to my own hair xD
Will you kindly consider doing a similar video for fine hair? I love what you did. So smart to divide into multiple sections. My hair very very fine and natural blonde in my older years. Please help. Can’t find anything for fine thin hair that looks as terrific as yours. Thank you in advance. ❣️🌻🌈
Totally just cut my hair following your instructions! Looks great! One of my ponytails slipped out while I was cutting so its a tad bit shorter than the other side but not too noticeable! Yay! Thanks a bunch!
You're a genius! I've been cutting my hair into a bob/lob for years but this method is so fricking easy and foolproof. Thank you so much, you've made my life so much easier! :D
Thank you for this video, I watched it several times, bought tiny bands and did it. It turned out just as I hoped. I have fine straight hair shoulder length and cutting it dry was the best. I thought i would have to go over it wet but only a few tiny snips that needed a touch up. It was worthwhile putting the hair in small sections of bands. Hair salons are closed as you know at this time due to world wise illness and this video helped me and saved me from my blunt looking unclean edged. I watched a few others and they did not seem precise enough nor as careful in prepping before snipping. I love it! Thank you for sharing your video!
I gotta try this. For a DIY, getting that length in the back right is the hardest. You can always add some layers if you feel like it. Looks really good.
Thanks so very much, Angelica❤️ Due to Covid & Omicron, I have been growing out my old dye jobs, cutting hair myself intermittently & putting hair up all this time. Your directions were the best I’ve seen so far & allowed me to cut 2-3 inches off👌 Thanks again!
Before I pulled my tie off I grabbed the hair with one hand. Pulled the tie and grabbed scissors and blended the ends pointing up towards the hair. It kept it from looking like a blunt straight cut and helped it blend so much better. This technique was bomb tho I love it ❤❤
Your tutorial is amazing🙌 so far your method is the best and not messy, easy to clean up. I just cut my hair using your method and it comes out great. Hope you come out more tutorials for different kind of haircuts or fringes. Thanks 🌷
Thank you very much for this tutorial! I wanted to cut my hair short but I didn’t want to go to the salon because of bad experiences I’ve had before, so I decided to do it myself and I’m sooo happy with the end result. A few strands were a tiny bit uneven, but my husband fixed it for me and it looks perfect. I’m so glad it didn’t end up like the funny fail videos on RUclips lol
I cut and dye my own hair, have for about 10 years lol, this helped me so much! Thank you. I found it easier to take the pony out after each cut and fix it one at time instead of at the end💟😺
I think I watched more than 50 videos on how to cut/DIY hair before I decided to try this. I promise this one is brilliant. I won’t be going to the hairdresser for a long time. Thanks to you. 👍
Hi! I’m here due to COVID-19 with all the Hair Salons shut! Great job in cutting your hair, I’m going to try it. Thanks for posting this 😘 best wishes from England 🇬🇧 xx
Omg I just cut my hair using this technique and it worked out incredible!! Thank you so much! I reaaaaally didn’t expect it to come out so even, specially bc it was my very first time trying to cut my own hair
WOW !!! Wonderful works! I was looking for a video like that. You are the only one youtuber who has cut the hair really straight as I want it. A scientific method ;)) Thanks a lot for sharing.
Your hair looks so very nice. My daughter just cut mine recently she isn’t a hairdresser but I trusted her to cut my lob straight across she did well however if I bend my head downward I do have longer bits watching this I can see where she went wrong
It worked!!! So happy with my haircut! I did it a lot shorter, but that is how I wanted it. Thank you sooooo very much for this! In the end, I only needed a little help with the back (just to even it out a little), but OMG, it turned out exactly how I wanted and pictured it in my head.
I just got my cut my hair like yours and I LOVE the way you styled yours here a couple years ago, new subscriber here! Can’t wait to see more of your content ❤️
I cut my own hair and just getting the weight and dead ends off actually feels good. I feel lighter. So, now I'm going to follow this video and tidy it up. Thanks!
Great job! I'm planning to divide mine into 4-6 sections too. I've cut my hair a couple of times & I always felt like it was fine; not sure what other people thought. 🤷🏻♀️ I have super thick hair, & tons of it so I tend to get annoyed & want to hack it off when it starts hurting my neck. 💇♀️
You did a fantastic job I'm a licensed hairstylist so I must say I was a little worried when you put your hair in those little ponytails. But I'm impressed you are almost a pro.
I cut my hair this way but messed up the back of my hair as it look longer. Thanks to this video, I’m going to fix the back of my hair by doing your way. Thank you!!!!
I watched this video earlier and decided to just do it. I cut my own hair and I love the way it looks. I had the same before and after length. I was hesitant but I needed to cut off all my damaged hair! I love the way it looks!!
Great great job! I knew it would work because i tried it for the first time and it is super amazing what one can do from home, with these RUclips self help videos!!!! Your hair is so full and i love that smile of victory at the end ✂️ 💕👍
Awesome job, love it. I just cut mine off before watching yours using rubber band method. I am quite happy with mine and after watching your video tempted to chop off a couple of more inches using 5-6 rubber bands like you , instead of just 2. I am in love with self cutting, saves me spending $80 every few months and it turns out pretty good with styling.
So everyone’s cutting their own hair right now because everything’s closed of course. I actually love this video. Exactly how I want to cut my hair. And I actually laughed really loud when you said “Lord Farquad “ CRYING
Good morning. Wanted to let you know I'm 71 and watched your video yesterday. I cut approximately 4 inches off my hair. Admittedly I was nervous and I wish I had cut it closer to 3. But it will grow and I saved $50. It turned out pretty good with about the same about of touch up when I come home from the salon. Wish you could see the before and after. Thanks much for the advice.
You did a fantastic job with your hair and you look adorable in it! Your hair is so beautiful and shiny! I used to have my hair this short a long time ago and am entertaining the idea of cutting it like this again but first...I have to be ready to part with my knee length hair of which may take some time. I wouldn't have a problem with it if I knew I could grow it back out again but, at my age, I seriously doubt that I'll live long enough to do that. Maybe I'll cut it next year when I turn 60. 😉
I've watched dozens of DIY haircuts. This is the best I've seen 💖 I wonder though if we can point cut each pony tail before taking all of them out? Thank you!
I just cut my hair the same way...As I was watching lol. It looks good!! Just took the dead ends off. The length is a bit longer. I also did it dry and I'm glad I did. I'm all set for summer ❤❤👌👐
Yessss I'm sooo happy to hear I could help you lol I'm sure you were nervous 😅!! Now all we need is summer to get here ASAP or at the very least, a warm spring lol
A real good tip i got from watching others cut their hair: Take the scissors and cut straight up to make the cut look softer and it's also a real easy way to even everything out.
Wow, you did an amazing job!! This is the first time that I see a DIY and it comes out almost perfect 99% :) you inspired me to try it, I'll do the ponytails first and then decide if I have the nerve to cut LOL!! Thanks.
Omg I been dying to cut my hair for the past 2 months and now that the Covid-19 is here and closed up everything I need to get my split ends off. It's driving me nuts and I will use your technique. You did an amazing job
@@AngelicaGomez Just finished - looks great! I keep your video on hand for each time I cut it - first time I cut off about 11-12 inches, this time only about 4-5.
I admit, before I watched this I was very worried for you because I am a hairstylist and ALWAYS get people who tried cutting their own hair and failed. But you SLAYED! I am super impressed!!! Great job!
Amanda Maestas Haha thank god mine came out good cause I was going to be one of those people! That was plan B 😂! Thank yoooou btw 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
she did a good job by cutting her hair
I have fine thin baby hair..super sliky and smooth. It takes me literally 1 minute to cut it like she did in the video lol. Half her hair (2 of her pony tails) is my whole head of hair
My 17 year old granddaughter cut my hair using this technique! It came out FABULOUSLY! I did the front differently as I wanted curtain bangs. I used a different tutorial for them. I'm here because of the coronavirus. I didn't think it was going to be so bad that hair salons would close .
Thank you so much for posting this video!
Bro same
same here. also, checking which one is the least difficult, lol
Same here
I hope in my Almighty God you're good now my darling🙏
Never caught it, Mayra, I am just fearful of going out. Still, thanks a lot for caring about a stranger. You have a good soul. I hope you and your loved ones are fine too.
This method makes a lot more sense for people with thicker hair. The times I've seen people who only have the two bunches, getting frustrated and end up hacking rather than simply cutting through their hair. Then the cut usually ends up uneven. Looks great well done.
I know exactly what your talking about, people getting frustrated lol 😆! It's funny to watch them hack it lol BUT yes, more bunches = easier to cut

Im quarantined in Norway and all the hairdresses are closed, too. Im not sure if i dare to cut it myself, but this looks promising:)

What a nice and realistic transformation. You held a kind attitude toward yourself too.
I cut and dye my own hair, have for about 10 years lol, this helped me so much! Thank you. I found it easier to take the pony out after each cut and fix it one at time instead of at the end💟😺
I've done my own many times too lol 🙌🏽! Glad I could help!!! 🙋♀️
I think I watched more than 50 videos on how to cut/DIY hair before I decided to try this. I promise this one is brilliant. I won’t be going to the hairdresser for a long time. Thanks to you. 👍
I’m going to try your technique tomorrow!!! It looks so good on you!!!! I’m exited!!! Let see!!!❤❤❤❤ Thank you for posting this!
I reaaaaally didn’t expect it to come out so even, specially bc it was my very first time trying to cut my own hair
consu :) you are making me feel SOOO much better abt me cutting my hair
Thanks I did it! I am 71 and so happy to have had your video, so encouraging and detailed. 💚
You did very well I think your way of cutting your own hair is the best and simple way to go! Thank you for sharing! 🙏👍
I cut my own hair and just getting the weight and dead ends off actually feels good. I feel lighter. So, now I'm going to follow this video and tidy it up. Thanks!
I bet it feels so good now 💁♀️ hopefully my video helps!! 👏🏼
You look lovely! Has anyone tried this technique on thin hair? I probably have just half of your hair or even less😔
The best method i’ve done it twice now and it’s always beautiful 🧡
Thank you!! I’m so glad it has worked for you 🙌🏼❤️❤️
You did a fantastic job I'm a licensed hairstylist so I must say I was a little worried when you put your hair in those little ponytails. But I'm impressed you are almost a pro.
I cut my hair this way but messed up the back of my hair as it look longer. Thanks to this video, I’m going to fix the back of my hair by doing your way. Thank you!!!!
Best video Ive watched! Quarantine got me ready to chop my hair. I hope it comes out as good as yours!!!
Omg. Just followed your instructions and chopped mine as well. I was so scared but it worked! Thank you!
It’s the best tutorial on RUclips for cutting ur own hair, I have tried it 6 months ago, it was amazing.. I’m doing it soon again
That's some beautiful, thick, bouncy hair you've got there! ♥
I love the 6 rubber band tip! I tried it and it looks so good. I thought for sure it wouldn't turn out right, but im so happy with the style!
I did it! Looks alot better than how I've cut my hair through out the yrs. Now just getting used to it...
I have shoulder length hair, and this may be a good method for me to try. I have a lot of hair but it's a fine texture. Great video.
The 2 rubber bands is genius!!
You did good and you taught well! I followed your clear simple guide and cut my hair as well...I'm down with diy as much as possible. Thank you.
I already cut my hair using similar way but maybe next time I will try in 4 parts so see if it's better... and you slayed 😍 I loved it
Thank you!! 😍💞
I've watched dozens of DIY haircuts. This is the best I've seen 💖 I wonder though if we can point cut each pony tail before taking all of them out? Thank you!
This is great idea point cutting each ponytail 👍👌
I've always cut my hair wet and seeing that you straightened it then cut it is genius. I'm definitely doing that next time
Wondering what your hair routine is your hair is so shiny and healthy and silky looking its so beautiful you did good on your cut too
I just cut my hair the same way...As I was watching lol.
A real good tip i got from watching others cut their hair:
Take the scissors and cut straight up to make the cut look softer and it's also a real easy way to even everything out.
Ok, you had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! LOLOL I love love love the way it turned out!
Everyday Heidi lmao you can't see me but I was too haha!! 🤣🤣🤣 THANK YOU!
I always cut my own hair now. Your video made me cut it again lol I always feel good after a haircut.
I'm using your method again this week. It worked so well the first time!
So glad to hear that!! ❤️❤️❤️
@@AngelicaGomez Just finished - looks great! I keep your video on hand for each time I cut it - first time I cut off about 11-12 inches, this time only about 4-5.
I have watch a lot of videos like this! You did awesome! I’m super impressed! Yaaay , its so cute
Great job. You have such beautiful hair. So shiny and I love your natural chocolate color!
Is that ur natural hair color.? It looks so rich, shiny & beautiful. Very nice diy cut too 🙆👍
