I'm saving this video. I am trying to tolerate tretinoin 0.05% and had to stop once after 3 weeks of twice a week, as my skin got red and stinging "after things" (after cleansing with a mild cleanser -Toleriane hydrating cleanser-, after putting on anything, etc.). So I stopped everything and for 2 weeks used Cicaplast baume. I'm starting again with tretinoin only 1/week and we'll see how it goes, the other nights I'm using Cicaplast baume or a restoring cream, and in the A.M. routine I'm using a restoring cream too (Cica Cera by Skintegra) before SPF. I was also using Cicaplast SPF as sunscreen during those 2 repair weeks, but it has a lot of alcohol and I couldn't use it without the restoring cream underneath, so I'm wondering if the alcohol in the Cicaplast SPF was too much for me and was further irritating my skin (they do say alcohol denat is best avoided when you have an impaired skin barrier...)?? So now using Evy mousse SPF50 for the face instead. I'm also going to do buffering with a moisturizer 1st and then apply tretinoin (Toleriane ultra night). How long should I let the moisturizer dry before tretinoin? If this doesn't work, I'm thinking of considering 2 options: 1- Parts application, instead of applying it on the entire face (1st apply the tretinoin only on 1 part of the face, e.g. forehead, then forehead + nose, then forehead + nose + cheek, etc.) or 2- Short contact therapy, as you mention (before the 0.05% tretinoin I was using ISOtretinoin 0.03% 4 times a week with no irritation)
Thank you for this video. I’m a little confused: We do the short contact therapy once or twice a week. On that night, we don’t use other treatments. What about the rest of the nights? It’s ok to use them then, right?
Yes essentially is similar to introducing a retinoid but just washing it off instead and if you have super sensitive skin you can even do that but only few times a weekly

Retinoids do help with cystic acne. Source: my experience. You do not need to be prescribed oral medications to treat it. It just takes time and consistency and a good diet and exercise
Is it okay to use SCT in the early morning with either tretinoin or Tazorac (I get up while it is still dark outside) and put it on before washing my face and then washing off a bit later while it is still dark out? Or is that a bad idea since I will be heading off to work later that morning and had done SCT with a retinoid just a bit before? Thank you!
When I was 14 years old, I started my period, before that I was very thin, and after that I became very fat and stretch marks appeared, and when I reached the age of 18 I noticed that my weight returned as it was before, but my chest became so bad like i was 60 😫 Now I'm 27 i didn't get married didn't pregnant can u tell me how i can fix this plz, i have a medium boobs 😭💔 all of my aunt's breasts are really good, taut breasts, even though they gained extra weight and a mouth like me, and they did not have the sagging that happened to me only me my mom & my sister are like this !
Hi!!! Thank you for this video! I am currently going through this process. I noticed I can tolerate tretinoin for a few hours only. I use Cerave PM or the La Roche Posay Double Moisturizer, they both have niacinimide, is this potential for irritation? Thank you!
Really helpful video 😊
Your hair looks great Dr. Liu🌼💜Please talk about what products to use for irritated hyper sensitive facial redness, itching & dryness. Thanks Doc🌷💚

Do I rinse it off with soap or just water?

Is adapeline only for acne & post acne or also for anti aging ?
I watch your videos but u didn't say a clear answer 🤍

Aaslam u Aalikum!?? Dr jenny hope you and your family are doing well.Does microneddling treat sunken eyes and horizontal neck lines
No it doesn't, I tried it and now I have scars and lines under my eyes. Maybe the neck lines will work, not sure about that.
Why will retinoids *not* help with cystic acne?
Oral retinoids can! Topical not

@@dr.jennyliu Isn't that the point of Trentinoin. Apparently not or I'm confusing the forms of retinoids

Usually these are fine but everyone’s different so if you are having irritation try to stop one of them and see
