I have very sensitive skin and have found the Peace Out retinol face stick to be incredible! It doesn't irritate my face at all, and neither does the Peach and Lily retinol. :) I've also noticed that using a product fifteen minutes after a shower versus five minutes after a shower can literally be the difference between a burning/stinging reaction and a happy face.

Great video Dr Liu! In the past few years (I’m in my 40s) I’m finding that my skin is more sensitive than it used to be. It is very disappointing (and costly) to keep testing products and find they burn and sting my face😢 plus I have combination skin and this make it even more tricky as I find many sensitive skin products too heavy and are more suitable for dry sensitive skin. Now I have a drawer full of creams that I found irritating and I’m planning to use them on my hands to replace my hand lotion esp that I wash my hands a lot so there is less chance to irritate the skin there. Now I try to buy a travel size of anything i want to try.
The Avene moisturizer is actually one of my holy grail products! I love the texture and it’s not heavy or greasy on my combination skin which I love. Also I just bought a few Paula’s choice calm products to test out. Hope they work!

Thanks for addressing sensitive skin products! I have tried all of these except the Paula's Choice and the LRP Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer. My favorite is Avene Tolerance Control Soothing skin recovery cream. Have also found that Aveeno Calm + Restore Redness Relief Moisturizing Cream to be soothing when my skin is red and irritated.

I have "controlled" Rosacea thanks to a couple of years using a compounded prescription from my dermatologist (15% Azelaic Acid, 1% Ivermection, 1% Metronidazole, and some Niacinamide), along with products from Paula's Choice Calm line for redness.
I've been able to discontinue the prescription and maintain the great results with PC products. I can even use the Calm 1% BHA occasionally, with no issues.
I also use the Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid a couple of times a week.
I'd like to comment on the Paula's Choice Calming Serum that you mentioned. It is truly wonderful, as are all the PC Calm products. In fact, all PC products are so carefully formulated, and there are many to choose from, for whatever your skin type and needs are.
However, the Cetaphil Redness Relief product that you mentioned, set my face on fire! Maybe my moisture barrier was just compromised at the time, but buyer beware.
Thank you for your helpful videos!

My Combo skin loves the Avene Tolerance Control for dry skin. I use this mostly at night, the balm texture makes it a very pleasant experience. And I even use it during the day when it's winter in Canada and my skin loves it! Now I would love to try that Cetaphil serum 😍

Thanks for this video. Can you do a video on how to remove dry texture on sensitive, mature skin with products (not procedures)? Maybe even suggest high end as well as drugstore versions of the products that would work?

Thank you! I have such sensitive skin, a few La Roche Posay and Cera Ve products burn. I have tried so many products from sensitive skin lines, and everything ends up burning! I am trying to find a moisturizer and sunscreen that both won’t burn and will help with acne. So far I just use the LRP foaming facial cleanser and the vanicream light lotion. Can’t find a face sunscreen that doesn’t hurt yet. Even my dermatologist is stumped! The hunt continues. I wish they sold those teeny tiny samples in store for like 99cents, I can’t just buy stuff that hurts over and over again!

There is a Saccharide Isomerate (The PENTAVITIN) in the Cetaphil Soothing serum that they highly market on, they claim that it is a powerful humectant that bind to the skin, holds on a lot of water, and does not come off with washing, so it hydrates the skin up to 72 hrs. You didn't mention this ingredient in neither of the videos. I'm wondering.. do you think this ingredient is not worth mentioning? This pentavition is just a humectant and there is nothing special about it ? thx

My skin barrier is constantly damaged and sensitive. One mistake and I will burn for days. It’s so hard and annoying.
This week, I got burned once, and had a rash once. Both in different days from different products.
I got burnt from Laroche Posay B5 baum ! And I am treating it by using Aveeno calm and restore serum and avene cicalfate, and then covering it with aquaphor.
If anyone has any other suggestions to add to calm my skin. Please I am really looking. I want ceramides and squalane oil in a cream. I am actively looking. And if it has peptides added I will be satisfied.
