I rarely see someone else who loves both their punk material and their alternative stuff, glad to see this video wasn't just praising their old stuff but also their 2000s+ stuff!
@aidenwoulffe3704 I appreciate the comment and for me over the course of my years being on this planet. I've listened to rock music more than any other music and I ventured off into so many different styles and have never frowned upon any genre. If I didn't really like it I didn't listen to it as much as maybe others, but for me there was no walls or barriers, It's all badass to me. Mainstream or underground doesn't matter. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🤙 🙏
Loved this video!! AFI is my all time favorite band. Decemberunderground came out when I was in high school and no exaggeration, that album changed my life. One of the things that I love and respect most about them is how their sound evolves as they mature. It’s sometimes a little hit and miss-I think Crash Love is a little misunderstood but is mostly strong and I wasn’t blown away by Bodies even though there are a handful of songs I love on it-but I respect that they’re never going to do the same thing twice. Burials is an underrated masterpiece and it’s hard to overstate how Sing the Sorrow is literal perfection. It’s been years since I’ve seen them live but I need to catch them on tour next time. Thanks for this video!!
@lamentforboromir7145 You absolutely hit the nail on the head. They've definitely evolved as they've aged and just done everything so well at each phase of their career, definitely love the comment. Also thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🤙 🙏
Once again coming in with another all time favorite band of mine! I stopped following when they released December Underground, not to say they got bad but it just wasn't for me. I got to meet them backstage in Fargo back when they toured for Sing the Sorrow. Davey ripped up a cardboard box, I got everyone's autograph. First time I ever met a band! Best experience ever! Also helped one of the members of Rufio hand out flyers, which got me in free for their show the week after. Sadly I wasn't able to make it. Great video man!
@@dustintornabrne5536 Awesome, I really appreciate the comment and definitely one of my all time favorites as well and same for me, the first time I met any of the members of the band it was right after the release of Sing the Sorrow , but I meet them a few times after that , definitely a great band definitely paid their dues to get to where they were and where they are. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🤙 🙏
@DortmundtHorror Absolutely love the comment. I've seen them more than 10 times and they've never disappointed. I absolutely love the band and as they've grown, they've evolved in an amazing way so absolutely awesome. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🤙 🙏
@RockTalkWithMike that was the first video of yours that we caught, but we love the band and enjoyed your video, so we subscribed. We'll watch more. We just saw them again this month! August 3rd, we caught them in Nashville and we're seeing Blacq Audio in September!! I've seen them 11 times so far, and we'll continue to go to literally every tour they do. We absolutely love AFI and always have! You nailed it, they never disappoint!!
@DortmundtHorror Again I really appreciate the comments, that absolutely helps the channel. Been doing the channel a little over a year now and having a blast trying to grow this thing. Doing everything solo with no experience when I started could be part of this issue for the slow growth but still love doing it. But again thanks for the Interaction and the support 🤙 🙏
@DortmundtHorror Absolutely.I appreciate it, and I checked out your channel, definitely gives me Grimm Life Collective vibes, not sure if you know that channel but just keep grinding and do what feels right so long as you don't give up you should be well on your way to what you want.
I discovered them in 2002. Bought Sing the Sorrow. It was such a unique sound. I never heard anything like it before. Still one of my favorite bands to this day. I started collecting cd's 2 years ago. I went on Ebay and bought all of AFI's early albums. I'm still discovering music from them.
@@wantsome-zs5sq They're definitely a great band who has evolved from where they started at and like I said, I got into them right before high school and ever since then, I just couldn't get enough of them. Definitely one of my favorite bands of all time. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 🤙 🙏
AFI is a great band. Start listening to them in 1999. I really enjoyed their Punk sound, but when's black sails in the sunset came out it blow me away. I would listen to that album over and over again. Then when the art of drowning came out and they first got played on Radio, I was so happy for them. When they made it big for sing of sorrow, I was so excited. That was the first time I went to see them play live. I totally agree with you. I continue to like AFI not because of davey but before their music. AFI 🔥 🔥 🔥.
@@ginacaballero9380 I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and I'm like you.The first time I heard them, I was blown away and instantly hooked. And i've been a fan ever since, seen them so many times. I sang in a basement with them in Fargo, ND because Davie had a cold and the show got kicked out of the park. 1 of the rare things I remember from being a teenager lol

@@RockTalkWithMike I think it was '96, pretty sure it was their tour to promote Very Proud of Ya. Nah man, no band. Me and my best bro were in front, knew most of the words, so he just pointed the mic. Not much of a story, but a great memory forever.
I'm a huge fan particularly the "sing the sorrow" album. I think it's one of the most quintessential early 00's albums. Incredible band live.
