I got my first A40s when the xbox one came out. I always found them so comfortable. Eventually I developed a hatred for wires, so I went the wireless route with another brand. Recently realized the quality of wired over wireless is incomparable and ordered another pair for myself for Christmas. Glad I kept my gen3 mixamp and my Mr. Meseeks speaker tags. I'm super excited. Excellent review!

one thing not everyone knows/covers is that over the years the headset starts to become “heavy” and slowly starts to hurt your head.
I have the Astro a40 headphones with a gen3 tr mixamp and my microphone doesn’t work . The firmware is updated and the sound quality is amazing. I use them for my Xbox series s. HELP ME PLEASE!
Naa man my headset has a female port error it sounds like static or maybe it's the cord but idk I think something is wrong with the headset itself or the cord idk.
H2O delirious still uses it in 2024 so I think you’ll be fine

Hi @pryo6382! I believe they are the same year/Model, the ones in the video are also the most recent TR Astros, they were just purchased from the design lab.
I’ve had mine for about 7 years only thing I’ve replaced is the ear cushions absolutely love them
They are a staple headset Kyler! I really hope Logitech does not destroy the Astro name and product line.
The mix amp is what makes the headset
I'm disappointed that the ear tags on the website is gone for customization

i used 2 sets of astro a40's (old and new gen) and a lot of steelseries arctis including the pro version.. astros are far beter for sound hearing imo
ive had a40s for 10 years. ive heard the ARCTIS NOVA PRO with the dac are better and im a astro fan boy. can you elaborate?
Did you use Dolby atmos or just the regular sound of the headset

would recommend the A40s had to just replace mine after 9 years of using them nearly daily 10/10 headset.
Do you find that the ear cushions aren't big ( tall and wide ) enough on the inside and hurts your ears after awhile?
Hi Matt. I haven't found this with the A40s yet, but have experienced it with other headsets I have tried.
Just a warning if you get the a40s with mixamp for series x/s you’re gonna have a very hard time or basically impossible time getting the amp to update
U gotta do the update on pc bro after that the USB work on xbox
I had a question about downloading the software it won’t let me use it if I don’t have a Astro controller is there a way to get around that

Hi @espiridionhinojosa5260. There unfortunately not a way around this since the headset its self doesn't have any sort of chip built in for adjustments.
I really love this headset but I might have to move away from it.
I love the Mix amp and the game/chat audio. However on ps5 there is no digital audio port. The astro hdmi audio extractor does not let me do 1440p 120hz.
I’ve been trying to find a workaround for months now. I spent $400 on this headset about 4 years ago, any options remotely close are about $450 now.
If anyone has a workaround for PS5, please let me know

Hi Mantic. I believe they would work for both, some TR headsets can be purchased for PC/XBOX or PC/PlayStation, but I think that is for the Mix amp compatibility, not the headset itself.

i use this headset on ps5 controller works just fine
@@9intrachtyou are using them without mixamp, so no dolby 7.1
The headset needs a pc shut up the amp can be updated via a pc and the amp is pants get a sound blaster g6 instead and yes that needs apc to to go into the app so what g6 and a40s is amazing add in dolby atmos and boooom god level

Hi @kuxxololyt4256. The headset itself should be compatible, but depending on if you are using the Mix amp, the amp will need to be PS4 compatible.
@@JakeVirdenTech I got the ps4 version and no mix amp came with it. Does the mix amp make the volume get louder and should I buy it?

Of course they do there headphones they work on everything do not get the amp get a sound blaster g6 instead set to stereo and use sonys 3d 360 sound instead of other suround formats just use the amp to boost quality of stereo sound set to 3d suround and enjoy take of the back plates open backs sound way better
