Last months of World War II in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened U.S. Army sergeant in the 2nd Armored Division named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank called "Fury" and its five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Bleeping the language, but showing people get ripped to shreds. Interesting
Not people, nazis. Nazis are not people. It's fine.
This is why our society is weak

smoke obscured the sunlight I guess
Its winter in NW Europe. Darkness falls pretty quickly.
Lol I love how you act like that can’t happen
@kalebanth8323 Yes maybe near the equator, not so much northern Europe, dickhead
Not that quick.@@davidroberts6549
Reason brad pitts character didnt want to leave the tank isnt solely because of his connection with it. Its more than likely because he would die in battle a hero rather than come back a criminal. He is only there as a court order because of his drunk driving that killed his wife and kid. He doesnt have anything to live for back home, but in the battlefield hes got his tank and his men.
Who would prepare an ambush and not pull your reloads inside?
Thought the same thing
Just went to say this lol
Apparently, these combat veteran geniuses. The same ones willing to sit in a disabled tank in the middle of a road while a battlion of enemy soldiers march toward them. Luckily, they found the stupidest battlion in the German Army that was willing to march in formation down the road toward the front of the tank where all the guns were pointing. The fog of war.
Do you have the balls to do what this heroes did during the war? Just stay in your mamas basement and stfu. It may not be true what we saw here but somewhere that time this happened.
Exactly
As much as I love this movie and I’ve seen it five or six times why would you not have all of the ammo inside of the tank that you possibly could? I don’t give a fuck if you’re sitting on top of it
if amo was inside the tank the moment panzefaust penetrated that tank would blow up and kill al crew . Specially becatse on that M4A3E2 (FURY tank) like majority american tanks armor is placed on lateral of hull. SO if the amo would've been in right place the tank would've blown up , even if is only 50. cal mag.
dang, nice idea....plot armor? (reason why the others got killed) didn't think of that.....I like this movie too.....didn't like the part with the Tiger ambush
@@raresale889 that works but not in this situation..................
Only 5 or 6? Rookie numbers
@@raresale889 They already have ammo for the 76mm main gun that would blow up if hit, I do not think having all the .30 cal inside tank would matter.
Does anyone feel like this ending is awful because it doesnt fit the personality they were building for the tank commander (Brad Pitt). His whole thing is being hard on the kid so that his crew will survive. Then he chooses a suicide mission for them. It doesnt make any sense.
Man he was not gonna leave his tank, PERIOD. Leave it out there somewhere. When uv spent as much time they have in that thing.
And they weren’t gonna leave him.
If they wouldn't of stayed to fight the platoon the other guys back in the town wouldn't of stood a chance.
@@vagabon5130 Lafayette Pool, the guy this movie is based on went through like 3 tanks. I’m pretty sure he even sabotaged one because he didn’t want it.
There were scenes in this movie that didn't make it to the final cut which shows more in depth to all the characters which I think explains to why they did what they did.
Try watching the movie first.
Why do so many people have to comment, "It got dark too quickly..."
You can't wrestle with the notion that we're seeing snippets of a very drawn out / long battle? They had probably been defending themselves for nearly an hour before the darkness fell. It has to be crammed into a short window for a movie.
Creative thought just isn't there for so many. I don't get it.
if they start shoot then in a line they might win. instead of letting them get close to flank
No because they would of dispersed even farther away from the tank which gives them more distance and room to coordinate more effectively against the disabled Tank.
to be honest they should run back and request more reinforcement. @@oldv1288
It got dark awfully quick
In reality, a tank without infantry support cannot survive for more than 5 minutes in a crowd of enemy infantry.
This is true. ...even less with a Javelin in top-attack mode
@@geoffmcnew5863 During late WW2 the Germans used Panzerfaust, with 30 meters range and only needed 1-2 rounds to take out the Sherman and kill all crews inside.
Yea. Late Panzerfaust even had 150m range and up to 320 mm penetration.@@biaohan4358
@@biaohan4358 And yet absurd logic-defying scenarios still sometimes unfolded and unfold in real life. It's a movie. It's meant to portray a remarkable scenario like that.
especially when there are 50+ Panzerfausts.
That 30 cal.barrell would be melting lol. Great scene though...love this movie.
Not really, the M1919 browning was known for its reliability. It could put 10,000 rounds through it without the barrel overheating. It had a slower rate of fire compared to other MGs.
@@MrErizid 10,000 round barrel life, not 10,000 rounds of sustained fire.
There's a deleted scene where they swap out .30 cals because it overheats in this fight.
It did start to melt actually, there's a short scene during the fighting of them bringing a spare 30 cal inside the tank to replace it.
@@itstrabNot deleted
So dumb. It's 1945. The Germans have been taking tanks out since 1939. This battle would last three minutes at the outside before the first Panzerfaust roasted the tank. (At night, the 'faust could fire from 100 yards away, completely hidden, while the tank would be easy to spot.)
But this script was written backwards - "How do we get a long fight out of a single tank?" "That didn't happen." "Yeah, but that's what I want to film."
Yeah it's very unrealistic. The Germans would have taken that little Sherman out in no time.
Great ending though 😊
The German troops were walking n two lines down a narrow road with hedges on each side penning them in and no cover, right in front of the tank. The Fury crew could have opened up with both machine guns and the main gun with one high explosive shell and taken most of them out in seconds.
Instead he waited for them to mostly surround the tank.
This film is shit.
Its extremely obvious that the writers were going for an Audie Murphy type of last stand
Battle of the Bulge is better
"Give me another, that was be utiful" XD
That German yelled, raise the roof.
Great

Check out the vet (of China's People's Liberation Army) reacting to Fury with his son - always good to see it from the other side
Our U.S. Army. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Armor Divisions. In Europe against the Nazis . We heavy relied on them to win the war .
You relied on The Russians...you delivered them many arms
One thing I wondered about, is why they didn't collect the extra ammo from outside BEFORE the Germans got there?
not enough room in the tank for it all im guessing
Two things.
Why wouldn't you 'bounce'' a few long before they arrived? And why wouldn't you get the ammo in before?
How long does it take to repair a Sherman tank tread? It seems to me that it could have been done in the amount of time between the mine explosion and the arrival of the SS battalion.
It doesn’t seem like it’s a short time between the mine explosion and the ss battalion rolling up but it wasn’t very long after the line detonated that the Germans showed up and to add even more the mine blew up apart of the gear that the tread rides on not to mention the tread itself was also cut and you don’t really have tools to fix the tank on the tank since you need actual machinery to fix the damage the mine did all they had were some metal rods and wood poles lol even further they were only 3 people working on it in the mud so everything is gummed up, slippery and wet, even further further more it’s metal, really hard to work with metal
Punctuation man. Please.@@Alpnfrk
great scene but the reality of this is even more brutal, after the first bunch die on top of the tank after the ambush one of two things happens, either the germans swarm the tank again instead of hiding because you can't hide from a tank and just drop grenades in the hatches, or they immediately grab a panzerfaust, put it through the side and the fight is over when the tank catches on fire. but still, so emotional
Pure RAW attitude
on way
they stayed to fight but left the rest of their ammo outside.. lol
Why on earth did you keep the amo outside?

If he only brought the ammo inside
This movie is pretty good but I feel like lone survivor was just ah bit better, different time of events but still
They wouldn't lose so many men taking out one tank would they?
Without AT, and being immediately ambushed by what they assumed a dead tank, yes. They would lose a shit ton of men.
Theyre honestly lucky the tank didnt start shooting while they were all lined up on the road moving towards the tank. They wouldve lost probably a third of that whole battalion before even getting off the road.
they would not have lost that many, they weren't stupid irl. As soon as it started firing they would have gone behind cover, then fired anti-tank guns, they werent zombies brainlessly storming tanks
most of especially ss battalions had grenadiers in their battalion, so that tank would be done in bout 2 minutes after firing the first round..@@JoseMora-wc5zz

Just like Matrix… a pure fantasy that a lone Sherman with crew would withstand an SS company even when they supriced them🙄
What if the German troops decided not to bother with the tank and just pass through?
That would not be a movie scene 😆
Why would you leave the extra ammo on the outside of your tank? Hollywood SUCKS!
Day to night real quick
In Europe especially germany it can be bright as the sun at 3pm and at 3.30 the darkness crawls at you... 5 Minutes later its pretty much night in fall/winter. Don't forget the sky was very dense with rainy clouds, smoke of the never ending war and fires that created even more dark smoke the later battle only added to the darkness creating more black smoke. Obviously due to being a movie, they can't always show the full true to reality lenght of time.
If we just guess approx it was between 2pm and 3pm when he saw the germans and ran back to the tank, the germans probably needed another 30minutes to an hour at least until they arrived marching along normal roads. now the time being between 3pm and 4pm it is already dusk and darkness is crawling... that fight must been going on for some minutes and the break they had may been not that short... regardless of tue later time, the night came already as the germans arrived.
Hey if you are going to censor next time do it without destroying our ears with a high pitch beep

You know, everyone bitches about how they pulled a heroic last stand with lopsided casualties...
*But everyone forgets the German tiger crew did the same thing earlier in the film*

優勢の敵軍に1台で立ち向かわないでしょう。撤退しますよ、あり得ません
It really really was a good movie, but then this cartoonish sequence happened... Like it was a genuinely deep, subtle exploration of men, being in a war, and how they deal with it. But nah, it couldn't have ended on some normal note, it had to have bullshit ending where 20 SS veterans are literally climbing a tank like they are god damn zombies. Homies are climbing a tank to get close to brad pitt, who is actively shooting at them one at a time, while holding submachine guns. Fucking hell...
Why'd they cry for the biggest douche in the movie?
Brad Pitt vs SS battalion far from reality hahahahaha. They were the strongest elite of all time, they fought against the biggest state superpowers, I think it would be better if the world made a little more realistic films when talking about the German soldiers of the Second World War
