I don’t understand why they waited for the Germans to get so close. They should have fired a tank round straight down the centre of the German as they advance towards them. Plus opening fire with the 50cal, that would have killed more instead of waiting till they were on top of them.

I love stories like this. It reminds me of the 3 Brazilian heroes that refused to surrender when they were outnumbered by a bunch of Nazi soldiers in WW2. They fought to death and even the german soldiers respected them enough to dig graves and bury them with a sign that said "here lies 3 Brazilian heroes".
One thing I disliked about this scene was their lack of obvious preparation. They should have moved all the 30 cal ammunition into the tank, collected any 8mm or 9mm other ammo and some appropriate weapons from the field and cleared a better field of fire. lol there's a difference between bravery and stupidity. For this sergeant to waste his men's lives on a pointless stand, is clearly stupidity. No commander in real life is stupid enough to make this decision. In real life, you value your men's lives, run while you still can, get to friendly territory, call an artillery strike, and live to fight another day. This is poor writing for this movie.
that line reminds me of the beach landings in Saving Private Ryan when someone yells "we're not we're supposed to be" and then someone yells back "no one is where is they're supposed to be!"
The timeline between the Germans being spotted and him running back to the tank and the dialogue and the set up of the german and setting the fires is unrealistic. They would not of had time to do all that. But, great movie.

Absolutely! There were so many reasons to engage them at a distance. When you have a 76 mm gun and a tank -- distance is your friend. It's the infantry who wants to close the distance and engage with you at short range with the portable anti-tank weapons of that era. So they essentially gave up their tactical advantage by playing dead and letting the infantry surround them Plus, at distance it would have taken time for the Germans to realize the tank was immobile and maneuver around it. They could have engaged the Germans at a distance -- given them casualties - and then probably safely withdrawn when they started getting closer. The movie was pure fiction.
I read somewhere that the germans fought so hard and effectively because of the brothership they felt for eachother in ww2. Many germans reported to fight for their friends in the army. The heads of the army of germany knew this and they let many friendships form in platoons. They sometimes let platoons go back from the frontline when new soldiers joined the platoon so everyone could be friends before they went back to the frontline. In a way the germans fought more out of love than the allied forces did. I think that is quite an interesting thought as we see the germans in ww2 as the bad guys.
This was March or April of 1945. All the regular Wehrmatch had surrendered by that time or were willing to and about to. Those were the "good guys" who were defending their Country and were misled by propaganda. The only ones left were the radical true believers in Nazism- the SS and Gestapo. This situation is historically accurate. There were other holdouts as well in pockets. The sane ones were surrendering in droves while the insane ones fought a losing battle to the bitter end. It's a tragic story that included Japan, Italy, and others; and continues to this day with radical propaganda.

I think that was sort of the point.. this movie is so great to me because it tries to depict people as they really are for the most part, which is a mixed bag. Some good and some bad, all mixed up into a single person.
In Saving Private Ryan, at the end of the movie the group defend the town because Ryan said it’s the only way he’ll willingly return home. What is the reason the crew of Fury stay and fight in this movie? I don’t see any strategic reasoning as to why they want a suicide mission as opposed to returning back into the larger invation force and be assigned a new tank and then join back into the war under more reasonable conditions. Not just “HOLD THE LINE” for no reason.

By movie standards it was fine. If you're looking for "realistic portrayal" you're not looking in the right place, it's not a documentary. In real life the Shermans (especially Fury) would rip the Tiger to shreds at that distance. Or the Tiger would be firing from much, much further away. Would that be interesting from storytelling perspective? No. All those arm chair experts and historians who love to shit on this movie so much fail to grasp that all historical movies sacrifice some accuracy or realism for entertainment or suspense. Absolutely all. in terms of WW2 historical accuracy Fury is just one level below the top tier stuff like Saving Private Ryan or The Pacific.
Sometimes, when men have been in combat, everything else recedes into the distance. And men, having seen how cheap life has become; resolve to fight to the death.

🤡
Is this the only movie depicting the tank warfare in finer details ?
That shit would've been terrifying.
Best way to especially Germany during WW2 Germans aren’t N@zis N@zis are German big deference
Honestly, I know there are magnificent ww2 movies but fury touched me the most while it s fictional my favourite movie of all time
The german march song is the song
SS marschiert in feindes land 😊
THANKS

Shia legit pulled one his teeth out for this role because he thought that's how the charecter would have been.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to run back to the American lines and warn them about the Germans?
The tank was done, and wouldn't be enough time
@@triplemoyagames4195 the Germans were all just marching though
@@Geojr815 Hundreds of them. They also had vehicles, there wouldn't have been enough time to run and warn the Allies. So they decided to stall and take as many out as they can. Which proved fruitful by the end
@@triplemoyagames4195 yeah but there were so many Germans and not enough trucks to carry them so the battalion could only move as fast as those marching on foot
@@triplemoyagames4195 hey bro then foot 🦶 if for what??they could easily ran away and warn their allies
Brad Pitt plays it very well. If you look at his eyes when he knows it's SS. He knows he's dead. That happened back then for sure
I love that they're so loud they aren't even worried about people discovering them
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Man just woke up, probs been dreaming of all those cadavers he seen.
Great movie by all means
They should make a prequel to this movie.
There are a lot of deleted scenes from this movie which is my favorite of new war movies. I like it more than BoB and Pacific.
I just noticed how foggy it is when you see the SS troops up close. That's a nice touch because otherwise they'd be very open to Allied airpower.
I swear if they come or I have to go I’m ready..
A knocked-out tank with crew destroys an entire SS battalion. welcome to Hollywood...
Audey Murphy?
Best war movie in the last 26 years, the last one that hit similar vibes was Saving Private Ryan.
There are dozens of soldiers in the marching column with anti-tank weapons and in the ensuing battle only ONE is fired. Otherwise you shoot at TANKS with carbines and machine guns. Exactly my sense of humor. 😏
commander is so selfish and self-righteous, instead of hiding to fight another day, he let his whole team get killed...smh
He gave the option and they all stayed. But in the end its about the mission. Also the young kid survived. And held off long enough for us troops to stop the ss advancement.
@@danielpickrell8311 of course they will stay, he's a family member for them...what was he thinking?? acting like his crew wont give a shit3??
and those SS aint advancing...they're making a last stand..Germany was toast that time..
I think that was sort of the point.. this movie is so great to me because it tries to depict people as they really are for the most part, which is a mixed bag. Some good and some bad, all mixed up into a single person.
Pretty good singing from the SS battalion, considering hardly any of them are moving their mouths.
An entire SS battalion some of which have anti tank weapons and they manage to fight them off 😂 Right ...
Reading my mind
Du bist stimmt
Фильм про то, как немцы потеряли по дороге все фаустпатроны и кумулятивные гранаты
Да.
I enjoyed it for what it was a movie.
I love this movie, ever!!! Love from indonesia . ❤

One of the best ww2 movies. Though the Tiger scene could've been so much better.
@@jackiemortes what're you talking about? Even at close range the Shermans couldn't penetrate the Tiger's front armor.
@@kristelvidhi5038 75mm Sherman probably couldn't, but both Fury and the third Sherman could, they're 76mm gun tanks.
@@jackiemortes the T34 had a 76.2mm and that couldn't penetrate the Tiger's armor.
@@kristelvidhi5038 Short range they could do damage. That's why the T-34s charged at Kursk
Sometimes, when men have been in combat, everything else recedes into the distance. And men, having seen how cheap life has become; resolve to fight to the death.
I’m staying here with you best line ever
Im gonna hold this crossroad... SOLDIER ❤.
damn this was a great movie
I’d rather die for something I believe in than live for nothing
