throughout the 3 movies I gotta say, the scariest ive seen mcCall, to the point you'd think it was a horror movie, was when he killed Marco in Equalizer 3.... the way he broke his arm and twisted that thing all the way around to have Marco stab himself with his own knife, the way he forces him to look mcCall in his eyes. that face at that moment... holy sht. Everything has two sides, like a coin. The change good or bad brings change in both realms good and bad and you have to deal with both. If you're not prepared, you lose.
Kudos to all the stunt choreographers, the special FX team and the slick editing plus constant rehearsal to get the scenes as realistic as possible. It is NOT just about Denzel.
*Fans often say we need a prequel series to the Equalizer movies & that is impossible because there is legit no other actor on earth on Denzel's level.*
I think Lakeith Stanfield from "The Harder They Fall" embodies the energy of a younf Equalizer. Very deadpan but cold but humorous when need be. Never ignoring being cold bloocalland precise when called for.
When I was growing up in the 70s, Clint Eastwood (amongst others) made these movies... but they were predominately unidimensional, and the 'actors' weren't terribly strong. Denzel took this genre to another level... one with multiple dimensions and thought. He is one of our finest actors.
I see the similarity to Clint Eastwood but as an actor Clint brought a totally different vibe, not necessarily because of his acting on the movie he was in, but because he also played in such variety of roles that the audience knew him in a way that reacted differently than audiences react to Denzel. Clint did movies like "Two mules for sister sarah", and "any which way but loose" which meant he had a different vibe even when he was in a western like "The good, the bad and the ugly." To me, Charles Bronson was closer in style to Denzel. Charles Bronson was the harmonica player "Once upon a time in the west". Whenever I heard that harmonica, I got chills. Similarly, when Denzel checks his watch. They each have their individual mannerism that shows you, this guy is trouble.
You need to check out the Ray Shoesmith character in the Australian mini series 'Mr. Inbetween'......a multi faceted character who takes menacing to a whole new level.
In a world where so many suffer under those who seem to get away with everything without punishment, heroes like this provide us with some relief. That's the point of these movies. They're not about vengeance. They're about karma, about the dark ones getting what's coming to them. And we get to see it! No one gets away with murder. Sooner or later, in this life or in another one, you reap what you sow. It's inevitable. It's universal law, which is inescapable.
@Eyologist Yes quote from the Bible, "Be sure your "sins" will find you out"...Numbers 32:23. If not in this life, in this life or in the next one, you will reap exactly what you sow. It's inevitable...
I love how it’s made VERY clear that when he’s “working,” McCall is no better than the people he destroys. There’s an obvious sadistic, psychopathic streak in him that comes out whenever he’s on the hunt. It’s why he can stare at a person he’s just killed with no emotion in his eyes while watching the light leave theirs. Sometimes even counting down their last seconds or humming a tune. It’s not the viciousness that makes him the hero. It’s the fact that unlike his targets, he actively tries to rein in his worse nature and be a better man, often going so far as offering those who wrong others a chance to choose a better path themselves before it is too late. He is a necessary evil who wishes he didn’t have to be. It’s such a simple character executed with immaculate precision.

Ngl, it took me so long to finish the 3rd one because I felt like it was a slow start. But it was great overall. Loved the ending! And loved how him and Fanning were working together again!
Denzel's mannerisms, like pressing his watch, or the multiple scenes in restaurants where he drinks tea so meticulously, or in some instances you see him straightening out his napkin, or moving something into a precise position on the table, tapping his teaspoon so it won't drip, folding his napkin. I just know he is a psychopath on the inside by these mannerisms, so when he talks quietly, or smiles, grins, its horrifying.
I didn’t realize I like Denzel, at least more over other actors.. until I noticed that a lot of the movies that I like.. a lot of them are his. Same with robin williams..also Keanu..and will smith (some of them at least)
3.33 : The Turk must have been peeing in his pants as McCall approached him, unperturbed and not out of breath after un-aliving three hulks of men. Nothing scarier than a foreigner offering threats to you in English then switching to your native tongue as he says the last words. You know for a certain that you have no place to hide.😂😂😂
you missed the aftermath of the watch scene the way he looks into marcos eyes all the way to the floor watching his life drift away with no emotion thats dark acting
"Bit for you, I'm going to make an exception" I couldn't relate to these words more coherently. He thinks he let himself bet me.... He didn't. We'll see.
This dude is as perfect for this part as Alan Ritchson is for Reacher. Actually, Equalizer should appear in a movie with Reacher. They could overthrow n.korea without assistance.

These are some of the best films I've seen
Hold up, he's using car exhaust fumes as a method of torture? I thought that was supposed to be one of the most painless ways to die. Lol.
I didn’t realize I like Denzel, at least more over other actors.. until I noticed that a lot of the movies that I like.. a lot of them are his.
Same with robin williams..also Keanu..and will smith (some of them at least)
Of course, " God's First " Denzel Washington such entertaining ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️from Australia 🇦🇺 with Love
Nicole where are you. I want to see you
“Please accept these gifts on behalf of Mr. Pushkin” sends me everytime 😂
"You got a chance while you still alive" honestly, i love this Man
Denzel is one of the greatest actors and humans of my lifetime
MAN ON FIRE THE BEST🔥🦾
One of my all time favs is "Fallen". Also, all the Equalizers. He is the best in my opinion.
How can you not love this man. He is so phenomenal ❤
you missed the aftermath of the watch scene the way he looks into marcos eyes all the way to the floor watching his life drift away with no emotion thats dark acting
Amazing how scary you can be with the script, director, producer and crew supporting you.
Denzel Washington wow very very very good actor I love this man his movies are always very good too watch I enjoy every minute of this movie ❤❤❤
Denzel is an outstanding actor in several movies of equalizer. I pray for a 4th equalizer
"Bit for you, I'm going to make an exception" I couldn't relate to these words more coherently. He thinks he let himself bet me.... He didn't. We'll see.
"You don't know what death is"!!!
This dude is as perfect for this part as Alan Ritchson is for Reacher. Actually, Equalizer should appear in a movie with Reacher. They could overthrow n.korea without assistance.
