I'm using the LG Q6 and it's pretty sweet (except for the fact that the bootloader can't be unlocked, so no root :c)

Mark Spurrell My HP Pavilion 15-cc055od has a lock, Ethernet port, HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB C port, 1 headphone/microphone combo, 1 optical disk drive and a full SD card slot. As well as the charger port.

It's great to see this much power in a small machine.... If I wasn't so reliant on my trackpoint on my X1 carbon, I'd switch in a heartbeat! Internals are nicely laid out, and the construction looks quite solid! Props to LG, as they aren't a brand I normally consider when buying or recommending laptops.

you need to know more about sponsored videos. they dont intentionally say good stuff. they review them honestly as the contract LG or any other company require that. as the user wont believe only a postive feedback.
Charle yes, but they generally aren't as critical of a product if the content is sponsored. For instance if the screen is super glossy, or if the keyboard is mushy compared to some competitors, he could have listed those in the "hope to have for 2019 version".

Tom Foolery You mean other high-end laptops. There are so many new laptops with USB-c but not thunderbolt. Even some more expensive ones. I mean, sure it's a bit odd they have a sticker to show it off but thunderbolt is far from guaranteed.
Yeah my $1300 laptop has 2 non thunderbolt USB-C ports for example. So yeah Thunderbolt is not always guaranteed on a laptop these days.

Specs already include a 1060 so I am not worried about an external gpu anyways. This will easily last me a good 4+ years.
I think LG nailed it with this Gram. Buy this as well as an external GPU and you have a perfect setup IMO.

so sad they didnt fit a 99wh battery in there.. there is enough space
more battery means more price and weight. and they also make 13inchs, 14inchs model which have less space than 15inchs model. so if they decide to put the bigger battery in 15inchs model, then also they should make another manufacturing line to produce another battery.
so that's kind of compromise between battery capacity and cost and weight.
Save some room for next year's improvement lol
+유정의 What kind of weak ass hands/muscles do korean men have to consider 2.4lbs to be ideal? It's a 15.6" notebook, The 13" macbook air weights 2.97lbs and is super light. THIS LAPTOP IS POOR USE OF SPACE. Most People outside korea would take an increase in weight from 2.4 to 2.9lbs for a bigger 99wh battery, or a subwoofer, bigger speakers, 2.5" Hard drive, Second fan + Dedicated MX150 Graphics card, ANYTHING AT ALL instead of empty space......There is plently of space in there.....All wasted to keep up to the stupid "GRAM" name.......It already weighs 1.1kg, that's over a gram, no point trying to waste it's potential. If it had a dedicated GPU, second fan and a subwoofer. It would be the perfect laptop.
even you understood my comment? and IMO, 2.97 lbs is super heavy. even 2.4lbs is also heavy. so I don't think LG had the wrong choice. even 72Wh battery is also an all-day battery, so more battery is pointless. if you need dedicated GPU, then find another laptop. and engineering is not that simple. you can't attach whatever you want to empty space. to endure heavy component more rigid(which means heavy) body will be needed. then the premium of gram(lightweight) will fade. I hope you understand there are lots of preferences that not shared with you, and the more complex problem then you might think.
Looks very nice, and i know they are trying to make laptops thinner and lighter but tbh i still like my laptop to have a dvd drive as i still get cd's as i like to rip them to what i want for my ipod. And seeing as the drive in my current laptop has been broken for a while i know how annoying it is to have to use a external dvd drive just to put one cd on my ipod.
I love this laptop. Still waiting for them to give a higher resolution screen to compete with the xps.

That alloy looks similar to the one they used in the midframe of some of their phones, like the nexus 5X. It kinda looks and sometimes feels like plastic, but its metal.

yeah kinda agree with discrete graphic card. probably Nvidia MX150 should be enough not making compromise the weight, the thickness too much but still provide some decent entry level graphic compute power
