@@isaun6523 there's no point. Unless someone really wants the dual screen swivel patent they have I don't really see the value.
Maybe they can try coming back to the consumer industry after there's more consolidation and have a very streamlined strategy, but in general smartphone sales have been declining for awhile now, and besides non replaceable battery creating obsolescence there's less and less reasons to keep upgrading per generation.
@@jonathanpusar5931
Yes The company need work on making their phones stronger or more solid so the need better strategies, the dual screen was useless but there so many other ideas that weren't by lg. Well there are many phone companies that have non-removal batteries so that isn't an outdated feature when you think of phones such as Oppo Reno and Samsung, iphone they have non removal batteries it the innovation and software is what the consumers like about Oppo Reno or Samsung and IPhone so if lg works on there software then they might have an chance so could by the mobile comany and change so things around so that LG can be successful again.

You are obscenely and absolutely CORRECT. LG convert since 2016. must use to appreciate - most of these comments are by 3rd party observers who never directly themselves owned/operated an LG phone & personally compared the pro's & con's of LG's versus other flagship brands. there's a ton of little ticky-tacky annoyances in most phones that LG vetted out of their products, that never get the credit they deserve. LG is competitive _enough_ in the major common areas, and exceeds expectations in niches I wasn't really even thinking about at time of purchase decisions.. At its price-point LG is the undisputeable superior value and overall product. PERIOD.
I used a LG phone once and boy did they loose me forever. Phone was shit, had manufacturing defects which LG's service centers kept on reffring me to each other, for a month. Then finally they did address it and asked me to pay about half the price for my phone which was in warranty period and had manufacturing defect.

@@vtpmt8140 You are talking about a time 4 to 8 years ago, LG was selling plenty of phones then.

What IF.... LG stood back and let the other companies do what they do as LG watched how the new stuff happens. and then give birth to a new phone that is so innovative they add all the new stuff PLUS their own style on things? The problem with that is that you need a massive amount of R and D.
Whereas other companies can release devices and problem-solve the stuff the users find for the next device, alongside doing their own R and D. So a feedback loop of improvement. Where as LG would be in a bubble.
The problem know after those years that is most people are choosing a favorite company and sticking with it for several purchases. LG have to work harder than before to establish a big enough fan base.

To me LG's really always been about innovation. They're having fun with their products; designing and descarding them on a whim. But the real reason why I've always been satisfied with LG is mere accessibility. More often than not they're affordable, quality devices.
I do admit, I've never truly commited exclusively to LG. However, always seem to find my way back to them.
The problem with Lg having “fun” with innovation is the price the consumer pays in a lack of support - it’s not fun unless you want to upgrade every 6 months, it’s expensive.
Actually one of the reasons is that LG lacks,is advertisement and RUclipsrs or media dont use LG to promote, I even thought that LG phones are already dead
I used to love LG and I really cut for them, but they burned me later in the g series when I needed em and just kept jacking up their prices, so I jumped ship

The last good memory of LG I had is of how they shocked the entire market with a curve phone 🔥
It's too bad LG just didn't handle their phone division well the way they're killing it with their TVs, monitors and refrigerators. Here's hoping they keep their lead in those markets. They used to be my favorite electronics company, and I actually just recently bought an LG monitor, although not because I particularly like LG, but because it matched the styling of my PC case.
I bought an LG Ultragear 27 inch 1440p monitor because it was the best value for a G-sync monitor on the market.
The thing is, TVs, Refrigerators, Washing Machines, and Monitors are considered necessity to the consumers, while phones around the time of LG's decline were considered luxury. With a necessity-focused brand, you build your hardware's popularity and name solely through reputation of reliability, not by marketing it. You want a good monitor? You heard LG makes good ones. You want a good phone? no one would say LG, because for one: their smartphone's marketing is handled exactly like their appliances, except of course smartphones are not a core necessity you need to get as soon as the next one, but instead a long term luxury.
Ong LG washing machines go crazy

.
I had an LG V20 and I loved it I moved to it from the galaxy s6 edge and it was so good but now flagship phones are beyond expensive
i hope someone from LG sees this and take care of its issues, because they make amazing phones and i wouldnt want them to stop making them...
Their problem is they decide based on 1 generation of sales. After the LG G4 I realized that I really like great cameras, and I really like rear mounted buttons. But those features didn't stick around long enough for me to upgrade my phone. I wasn't in the market when the V20 came out, even though I thought it was the perfect phone - and by the time the G7 ThinQ came out, when I was in the market to buy once again, they had veered away from what interested me. Instead, I went to Google, as the Google Pixel was closer to the LG G4 than the new LG's were.
LG builds and gives away markets, because they don't stick with them and continue to refine their features... they should know what each line of phones is supposed to be, and then incrementally refine it generation by generation. Eventually they'd have a loyal following...
Right now they are busy razing their audiophile following to the ground. No more Quad-DAC? Brilliant!
Screen refresh rate, the (stupid) notch, cameras (please, no idiotic macro lens is needed - not on any phone. :))
Hopefully

As an audiophile and long time smart phones user who has owned Apple, Samsung, Motorola and LG...my LG V60 Android 11 5G is the best value I have ever owned.
I see... I'll look into this 2 years 2 months 2 weeks & 2 days later. I'll probably maximize its value.
But seriously, I keep looking at the LG phones before I buy a new phone since I acknowledge that it has solid value... but the S-pen has me on lockdown. If samsung is not going to make a note20 as rumoured they are making a huge mistake.
Yes, but having to wait 5 mos. for Android 11 was almost painful. I checked my software update everyday for the last 2 mos. and finally got update 2 days ago. I wish I had my V60 with Google Pixel software updates. I agree, as an audiophile, the audio is the reason I have an LG phone to begin with. And the V40 before it.
@@twentyfifthjt7888 There's a possibility that you might not know this since LG is so bad at marketing, but the V60 is compatible with Windows compatible pens. A real-world example is I can use my Wacom Bamboo pen that I use for my HP ENVY on my V60. I didn't even know that until after I bought it.
@@msggood4me I did not know that. LG needs to get their marketing shit together. Would have made me think twice about my decision at the time. The S-pen is very capable for its size & convenience though.. & the thing is though that half of my notes are already in the S-note app.. which I really appreciated when it restored all my previous notes on my Note 10 when my Note 8 got stolen. It doesn't seem to be convertible to other formats though.. so they kinda have my notes for ransom. I do really wish they had a desktop app for managing them.
Its almost too late for LG for me unless I ever need a 2nd phone besides a note phone.
@@msggood4me It's also compatible with the lenovo yoga pens

I've been using LG smartphones when the KP 500 Cookie came out and before that. I would go LG any time over the others. Sadly LG stopped making phones.

Samsung: great display and sound
LG: life's good but we don't know how.
from what i recall, some LG phones were supposed to have a superior DAC, better than the competition. Sadly, that wasn't enough to drive sales. Maybe the biggest downfall is how they didn't market their phones as well as the other companies.

I think it's funny that I mean to explain the business to LG. They make 54 billion a year, and how much do you guys make that shit?
Someone tries to tell a successful technology giant how to market their smartphones, that's ridiculous. LG has so many other lines of business in it. You don't necessarily need this market and it is very likely that you will concentrate on completely different things, because the turnover is still true 54 billion dollars per year and you want to discuss here whether LG is too stupid to do marketing.
When the market was getting away from removable batteries, LG v20 had a removable battery... Them they jump on the non-removable battery band wagon, and now it's bye bye LG..

@@adnanshahriar4435 They DO make polished final products, BUT they include their experiments inside. The thing is that people buy mostly Samsung and Apple phones because they are the most talked about.
@@eminmacanovic7071 It's irrelevant whether they make polished final products or not. It's the association that's important. If people associate them with experimentation as you said, then obviously they'll have low volume of sales, because people don't buy experiments.
I love my dual screen v60. It's more practical than most people will realize. Most phones have only one screen, so few people have had hands on experience. It saddens me that I will not be able to replace my phone when it dies. It's also ironic when others first see my phone, they are intrigued by it and will immediately ask "what kind of phone is that?"
Lg has the only smartphones right now that offer audiophile quality sound with hifi quad dacs and full sounding phone speakers.
Sony has that too
@@Johnpatru yes and unfortunately most folks don’t care about this stuff as long the Smartphone can play Spotify in a decent quality (many even just got the free version who just offers a relatively low Audio Quality) People are fine with it and 90 % of all Smartphones can do this

Most people dont care about that, especially when everything else with lg's experience is kinda crap. I get more out of a good phone display than an audio setup. If i wanted a phone that has good built in audio then I'd just buy an iphone but nowadays most BT headphones do better to a reasonable price and conveineince range due to having everything self contained.

What's sad is that so much of this is true. I've had 5 LG smartphones over the past 10+ years or so and honestly I'm really lost now that they're out of the market. The likes of OnePlus and Google devices aren't readily available in my country and the brand that I've had the best experience with now no longer produces smartphones! Not to mention that while their aftermarket parts were tough to find at times, the pricing for replacement cables, charging adapters etc were at times half the price of their counterparts! If they had just been a little more careful in some areas and followed through with some of their concepts they could've really been up there at the top. It's a crying shame because their ingenuity and ideas were in many cases insane and out of the box but well executed. I hope they reconsider in the future, fix their pricing and naming, and make a strong comeback.
I had G4 and it was such a good phone. I really wish they'd bring Lg back although mine was refurbished but i was impressed with the performance. Also in my country Pakistan the One plus and Google has no resale valus so as no store to get it repair so I can't even think of them to buy. Remains with apple (no store but you can find some good retailers with original replacement panels), Samsung, vivo and realme 😔
I recently went on the market to go get another LG I prefer them over Samsung and all their bloatware and their proprietary software but lo and behold I had no idea they went out of business it's a shame because now I am with the Samsung s22 ultra and while the phone is beautiful it's littwred with the Samsung eco system

Yes, their phones are really great. And cheap too. Basically perfect.
Just bought a used LG Velvet. It was a toss-up between this or an Oppo Find x3 lite for the same price. The Oppo is a year newer, and in most areas it seems better on paper, but I went with my heart (a stupid thing to say about a mass-produced consumer item, I know). The Velvet seemed more solid, less plastic. And I was really happy with my LG G5 - i went through two of them. For me they were very comfortable to use - very light, and the fingerprint sensor on the back was well placed and worked every time. I could just whip it out of my pocket and it unlock it before it was even in front of my face. The keyboard learning knew exactly where I was trying to put my fat sausage fingers. The camera didn't have a billion megapixels - but it took great photos that were very detailed and rich. The main selling point was the removable battery though - instead of carrying around powerbanks and cables - just have a spare battery in your pocket. And when the batteries started to give up the ghost, just get a new one for like, $15. You could keep a G5 going theoretically forever. Or until the processor starts to fry your screen at least. Despite all of these positives - I was still the only person I knew that owned an LG phone. LG did a great job marketing to my use-case scenario, but maybe their problem is that I'm the only sane person in a sea of idiots.
And so... that's my story on why I bought an LG Velvet.
