I used the Optimus G and the G2 when they were new and they were incredible phones. The Optimus G felt incredibly premium and ahead of its time with the glass back and it had a really good IPS LCD screen. The G2 wasn’t as premium feeling, but they packed a 5.5in screen with thin bezels which kept the phone small. LG fell off because they started chasing gimmicks and every flagship came with some fatal defect that destroyed the phone in less than a year.

LG convert since 2016. must use to appreciate - most of these comments are by 3rd party observers who never directly themselves owned/operated an LG phone & personally compared the pro's & con's of LG's versus other flagship brands. there's a ton of little ticky-tacky annoyances in most phones that LG vetted out of their products, that never get the credit they deserve. LG is competitive _enough_ in the major common areas, and exceeds expectations in niches I wasn't really even thinking about at time of purchase decisions.. At its price-point LG is the undisputeable superior value and overall product. PERIOD.

But unfortunately, the phone has reached its limits and I need to let it go. I just pull a trigger and bought V40, can't wait to test it. I don't know what the launching price was but I love it , still watch video's on it every day and picture is incredibly great, but that's all I use it for mainly, sound is great has stereo speakers and really kicks hard. Only 8 GB storage has a Snapdragon 400 and I wish so badly they would get back into the phone business.. I'm using a Galaxy A 14 now as my calling and app device soon to be replaced by the A 54 when I upgrade this winter. Just cannot stand not having stereo speakers on the A 14 so I'll go on using the LG as backup for video and music..Thank you for sharing this great video with us all, great job👍👍

To me LG's really always been about innovation. They're having fun with their products; designing and descarding them on a whim. But the real reason why I've always been satisfied with LG is mere accessibility. More often than not they're affordable, quality devices.
I do admit, I've never truly commited exclusively to LG. However, always seem to find my way back to them.

Hello, I am a Korean who worked in the LG Mobile division. LG smartphones were in the red in the 24th quarter, 5billion $ deficit. It seems that we will not be making flagship smartphones now, and we plan to make only low-cost mobile phones through the ODM method.
There are many reasons for failure , the biggest reason is that you have to make a phone that the senior executives want, not the phone that the public wants. They set final names ,prices and add weird features. They led postponed the development of a rollable phone than we could sell 2million LG Wings . LG innovating at the time of feature phones.

Especially the advanced Hi-Fi-Sound chip of the V-series smartphones combined with good ear phones is still ahead of any competition. Neither Apple nor Samsung deliver a comparable sound quality. Apple doesn't even have a plug for normal headphones anymore!

Just bought a used LG Velvet. It was a toss-up between this or an Oppo Find x3 lite for the same price. The Oppo is a year newer, and in most areas it seems better on paper, but I went with my heart (a stupid thing to say about a mass-produced consumer item, I know). The Velvet seemed more solid, less plastic. And I was really happy with my LG G5 - i went through two of them. For me they were very comfortable to use - very light, and the fingerprint sensor on the back was well placed and worked every time. I could just whip it out of my pocket and it unlock it before it was even in front of my face. The keyboard learning knew exactly where I was trying to put my fat sausage fingers. The camera didn't have a billion megapixels - but it took great photos that were very detailed and rich. The main selling point was the removable battery though - instead of carrying around powerbanks and cables - just have a spare battery in your pocket. And when the batteries started to give up the ghost, just get a new one for like, $15. You could keep a G5 going theoretically forever. Or until the processor starts to fry your screen at least. Despite all of these positives - I was still the only person I knew that owned an LG phone. LG did a great job marketing to my use-case scenario, but maybe their problem is that I'm the only sane person in a sea of idiots.
And so... that's my story on why I bought an LG Velvet.

I see... I'll look into this 2 years 2 months 2 weeks & 2 days later. I'll probably maximize its value.
But seriously, I keep looking at the LG phones before I buy a new phone since I acknowledge that it has solid value... but the S-pen has me on lockdown. If samsung is not going to make a note20 as rumoured they are making a huge mistake.

Yes, but having to wait 5 mos. for Android 11 was almost painful. I checked my software update everyday for the last 2 mos. and finally got update 2 days ago. I wish I had my V60 with Google Pixel software updates. I agree, as an audiophile, the audio is the reason I have an LG phone to begin with. And the V40 before it.

@@twentyfifthjt7888 There's a possibility that you might not know this since LG is so bad at marketing, but the V60 is compatible with Windows compatible pens. A real-world example is I can use my Wacom Bamboo pen that I use for my HP ENVY on my V60. I didn't even know that until after I bought it.

    • @twentyfifthjt7888
      @twentyfifthjt7888 3 года назад

@@msggood4me I did not know that. LG needs to get their marketing shit together. Would have made me think twice about my decision at the time. The S-pen is very capable for its size & convenience though.. & the thing is though that half of my notes are already in the S-note app.. which I really appreciated when it restored all my previous notes on my Note 10 when my Note 8 got stolen. It doesn't seem to be convertible to other formats though.. so they kinda have my notes for ransom. I do really wish they had a desktop app for managing them.
Its almost too late for LG for me unless I ever need a 2nd phone besides a note phone.

Let's not pretend other manufacturers haven't had bad releases and embarrassing blunders. LG is no different. As I commented above, they have bad marketing and PR. I don't think hardware was ever their biggest issue. I fear it may be too late for them to recover their reputation, which is too bad.
Also, this is all largely subjective. I love LG, but I'm currently using a Samsung phone. Samsung phones are really good, and their marketing is obviously effective. Sometimes you just end up moving on to another brand, you know?

Usually, a higher number was better, and the Moto G87 was the best out of their budget lineup (although I can get a Google Pixel 7 for the same price and it's a better phone), but on a couple, the phone with the higher number had a MediaTek chipset whilst the phone with the lower number had a Snapdragon chipset. Also, whilst higher number was usually better and was always more expensive, it was difficult to guage, and the specific numbers were arbitrary.
