I ordered two of the smaller oyster beds for my husband’s birthday which was 08-01. Unfortunately, they came a day late, but tonight we’re making your recipe! We can’t wait! My husband was thrilled with his gift and has subscribed to your RUclips channel. Thanks again! M
First and foremost, I can't say enough about this video! This is magnificent Rus. What a great message! What a great way to bring awareness to our ecosystem. Second off, This recipe is outstanding as hell. I'm not goin to kid you, This Rocks to beat all! This is amazing!
Rus, first there is just nothing like your videos anywhere. The recipes that you create and come up with are in a league all their own. Such a decadent, scrumptious dish. I will be purchasing one of these for sure. Have lots of Wilton Armetale and it's a great product and the Waller bros..God bless them, great product, great cause!
Kim I really appreciate your kind words! Means a lot to me! Thank you for your support in helping the Waller Bros, you are going to really like their product :)
Not only do i love oyster, I admire American ingenuity! You gained a sub, and a nice christmas present for my son. Thanks for the video and please thank the gentlemen at "The Oyster Bed" and thank you for your service. God Bless, and Happy Holidays!
Thanks Russ I’ll be getting a couple and maybe the big boy too got a large wood grill so should fit no problem. Reminds me of what I miss about living in New Orleans
Rus I'm 2 years late and watching this video I'm surfing RUclips early in the morning on a Saturday and I ran across this I'm really not a big oyster lover but I would love to try that you did an excellent job I think you should redo this recipe again updated
Interesting history on the oyster and the environment in your area.. Sad but glad you shared. Will check out their website. Have not cooked much with oysters. They looked amazing!
Thank you Tess, and yes, I was more than happy to help get the word out about our coastlines and what we can each do to help restore them. I was raised on oysters, and they are so delicious in a recipe like this.
Thank you Robert. Yes, it is a very interesting video about a real problem, and I'm behind these guys 100%. I hope they do well in this endeavor. The oysters are just pure heaven. Only way to describe them :)
Ol Angus Your welcome, and glad to hear you made the recipe. I did a Bloody Mary Oyster recipe since this video, and they are also really good. Got to do them again soon. Thanks for watching and your welcome :)
those oyster look wonderful, you could not make enough if I was there, will check out the oyster bed, the Chesapeake bay has a similar, and the are starting to protect the oysters because they help the bay so much, as always thanks for sharing
Thank you Jimmy! I know you would love this recipe brother. Give it a try sometime. I'm glad to hear that your area are protecting the oysters. It needs to be done everywhere. It affects all of our coastlines, and preserves a very important species that so much is dependent on. I hope oysters are around for a very very long time :)
Man that looks awesome Rus. What a great company and an awesome mission. Those oysters look great. I'm going to check out the oyster bed web site. Oyster habitat is disappearing all over the gulf and along the east coast. Runoff from agriculture has played havoc on these beds. Thanks for educating folks about our disappearing oyster habitat.
Thanks Lee! Yeah it's a real shame what is happening to our wonderful oyster habitat, and I'm really glad to see people like the fine folks at "The Oyster Bed" raising awareness, and making a difference before it's to late.
Great video Rus. Being from an area where oysters are harvested and are a deep part of Long Island life I can heartily agree with what is going on with preservation and being a good steward of the seas. This rocked Rus!
Thank you Joe! Yeah, if something doesn't happen to change the damage to the oyster habitat, then a very important and delicious species is going by the way side, and we just can't let that happen! Thanks brother :)
I love your show and I thank you for showing me and others how its done. you have a good time doing what you do and I love the food you are cooking too thank you sir
Rus I am square in the oyster-lover camp. I've been meaning to do some grilled oysters, and this is the recipe that we will follow. Very interesting product, I can see the benefit of pulling some of that moisture out into the bottom tray. Thanks for sharing this!
Jacob, I'm almost certain you will love this recipe. Yes, I'm loving the Oyster beds. Does a fantastic job on oysters and can be used for so many other things as well. Your welcome brother! :)
Your sauce looks like a killer soup. The oysters ... outstanding. I love Mississippi Oysters, to me they are the BEST. I have a friend that lives behind the Treasure Bay and I have had Biloxi oysters a couple times. I want to be in Heaven, so I must try this. There is a place close by that has Biloxi oysters, he drives down there twice a week and has a shoppe and sells the seafood.
Thank you Michael! I agree that we have the very best oysters around, especially from the Pass Christian MS area! Absolutely the best. You will love this sauce!
Dang man. I just discovered your channel a week ago. I already made the cajun stuffed shrimp, bbq ribs, and tomorrow on July 4th, I'm doing your method for low country seafood boil. I will order this oyster bed tray and grill some oysters next!! Only problem is, I'm retired on a fixed income so I may have to go back to work to afford all the meats and seafood to try out using your fabulous rcipes. Rus, all I can say is "YOU DA MAN"!! AWESOME VIDEO!! I'm a subscriber for life my friend!! Thanks so much!!💞 If you read this in time....Happy Independence Day!!
Great Video! Love to try the Oyster Beds but have a question, they look to be made of Cast Aluminum, are they? And how hard are they to clean up the stuck on food after the cook?
Thank you, I appreciate it! The Oyster Beds and the new Steak Beds are made from Armetale which is made up from 10 different alloys and aluminum is one of them. It is not cast aluminum. Armetale is safe to cook, bake, broil, grill, chill and use for serving and will not break. The clean up is easy, but I normally apply a thin layer of cooking oil on the surface prior to cooking to insure easy clean up. Hope this helps.
Great story rus its nice to see someone take a stand on this issue. We have battled our own demons with oysters in the Chesapeake bay. at one point they were so prevalent the reefs would define boating channels and almost pose a navigation hazard for boaters. Now there almost non existent, over harvesting, runoff causing falling salinity and disease have all but killed them off its sad. Anyway awesome cook brother it looked delicious send me a plate up here would ya..love me some oysters
Thanks Jerry! I don't think many people understand the impact of this, so I was more than happy to help spread the word about this on going problem that affects all of us in one way are another. It's a shame that things get so far out of control before someone like The Oyster Bed stands up and does something about it, and raise an awareness to get many involved to help find a solution to this problem. :)
Thank you Angie! I was raised on oysters, and there are many ways to cook them, and they are also eaten raw, which I love. There are two kinds of people in this world. Ones that love oysters, and the others hate oysters. To me they are just simply delicious, especially in a rich sauce like this, and the flavor of the oyster lends a fantastic flavor to this sauce. This is fit for kings :)
Thanks Russ for sharing all of your insightful information, I really appreciate what you are doing and sharing with everyone in the world. Including me… Make it a great day.
The finest oyster recipe I ever seen Rus! Very deserving of being self entitled!! I can wait to give this a shot someday with my girl. That is also one fantastic product as well... This wasn't a homerun, it was a walk off Grand Slam brother.. I agree with Dan, I'll be dreaming about these oysters from now until I get them in my mouf!! Cheers bud!!
Hey Rus good seafood is expensive here so we don't eat very much because we don't like to settle for anything less than fresh but I do love this video and I will put the word out. Thanks for sharing.
absolutely amazing Brother!!!I love Oysters and i wish i could of had a taste of this dish for sure!!! The whole production was outstanding! I hope to shake you hand someday! Rus!
Rus this looked so good. And until I saw your video and the oyster bed video I would never even have considered cooking oysters outside of there shell (exp frying) but after hearing what these guys had to say and seeing your delicious recipe and hearing about those juice channels that save the oysters wonderful liquor I am just drying to try it for myself. thank you so much for bringing this innovation to light and I was really impressed , hey by the way I see you go your oysters from my friends at Crystal Seas
Same here Joe, this was kind of a wake up call for me since I live right here on the coast. Man, you will love these "Oyster Beds", and the cool thing is, you can cook all sorts of things on them. Brother, I love Crystal Seas, and I especially love Pass Cristian Oysters! Can't beat them anywhere.
Hoo -aww!! Mighty fine video Rus! While I'll be the first in line for an oyster on the half shell with a bit of lemon juice or spicy cocktail sauce (and an ice cold vodka), I have done some oyo's on the the grill and oven in different ways - white wine, bacon and spinach, cayenne,Parm, etc. but none near as decadent as yours, and I mean that as a compliment! So rich it looks, I don't see how'd you'd have the belly space for much more after this dish! And thanks for the alcohol lesson, I didn't know that absinthe (spelling varies) was available in a non-lethal form :) , and even though I know that liquors with a licorice/anise flavor, such as Pernod, are a classic seafood addition I've just never been fond of that flavor. More horseradish, please! Finally I want to thank you for your info by the Oyster Bed Guys and your ecological commitment. It was worth the time to know that the very creatures we eat and the part we routinely discard can contribute to a sustainable source, I really didn't know that shells could produce more oysters if recycled properly. I'd just hammer them shells and toss them in the garden. Seems it's better to return them from whence they came. Bravo, Cheers, and Salute Brother!
Thanks Randy! Brother, there isn't much that I love better than to belly up to about 2 dozen raw oysters with lemon and cocktail sauce with extra horseradish and lots of cold beer in the bottle. That is my favorite way to eat oysters, but with that said, these are so rich and delicious, and the sauce is seriously to die for (Figure of speech ;) I'll be totally honest about the Absinthe. When I poured that 1/2 cup into the mix, and the smell of licorice hit my nose, my first thought was "I just screwed this recipe"! But in good faith, I continued with my plan, hoping that this was going to mix and mingle with all the other flavors to produce what I was imagining, and brother, let me tell you, it was just pure heaven in flavor, and no licorice flavor or smell was present, but I know that it had a lot to do with the final flavor of this dish. So I guess ole Jules Alciatore (son of the original proprietor of Antoine's restaurant in New Orleans) knew his stuff. Randy I think we all learned something about oysters from "The Oyster Bed" I live right here on the Gulf Coast and didn't realize the size of this problem. I just buy and eat. They are raising the awareness, and they got me in their corner for sure ;) Thanks again Randy! I love reading your comments :)
Wow! These look great! Thank you for sharing the Oyster Bed product. I will have to order it for Christmas. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment so, I am unable to grill. Would you be able to advise if this recipe can be done in an oven and if so, what temperature and for how long?
+Darrin T 350 degrees in a oven should be just about right. You will have to keep an eye on the oysters to determine when to pull them out. When they begin to curl which only takes a few minutes, take them out. I love the oyster beds :)
+Smoky Ribs - Thank you!! I am looking forward to trying this recipe and the Oyster Bed over the holidays. I love this product for several reasons.....1) Rejuvenate the ecosystem, 2) The reservoir to collect all the goodness 3) the ability to use oysters without having the need to shuck them. Thanks again!
I have never ate, or cooked oysters, but you made these look like some kinda yum Rus! I love the history and what they are trying to do. I wish we all could do more things like them. Take care & TFS! :D
Thank you Kelly. Oysters done like this are just simply delicious! For people that don't like oysters, this sauce would be great on pasta as well. Yes, I really appreciate the effort these guys are putting into our oyster estuaries to help get a handle on a big on going problem. Thanks again Kelly, and have a great week :)
Everything you make is top-notch but never pretentious with simple fresh ingredients. Do you recommend a company /website that will deliver oysters to the northern east coast by chance? I have been watching your archive of old videos! I'm addicted...lol
I'm sure there are companies that will ship oysters, but I really can't recommend anyone in particular because I have never had to order since I can get them locally, but maybe a search online will help you find a reputable company to order from.
Russ, you're torturing us lol!! I have tried the "Willow Point" oysters and they taste awful. This is so yummy here. I like this idea a lot. Could you just use this mixture as a soup?? I love oysters by the bushel on the half shell raw. 😊😊
How do Ya know when an Oyster is done ? ? When Ya slide it out of the shell into your mouth...That's when it's done !! LOL ! This is one fantastic recipe that I have to try !! Thanks for sharing !
Rus, I know this is not a new video, but wow! those Oysters with the creamy sauce and a little more added details and Ingredients from yourself, it's Just simply Awesome. Damn! it looks so freaking delicious. nice work like always. oh and by the way!' thx for sharing that video of the Oyster Bed, and the people, designers, and Engineers who created the Oyster bed. I enjoyed it very much. How and where can I order one for myself? Thx a Mil "Smokey Ribs BBQ & Southern Cuisine" :)
+Rubén Disla I hope you try this recipe, it's soooo good! Just pure heaven in flavor, and I thank you very much for the great comments! I have a link in the description box to the Oyster Bed website where they sell the oyster beds. Great worthy product for sure.
These are local and freshly shucked oysters, and there is no difference in taste or texture than from straight out of the shell, however there are some companies that ship nationwide and they use a pasteurization process for safety reasons, and those do taste different. I will not buy those. Buying these oysters are no different than buying fresh fish or shrimp from a local fish market that have them on ice, compared to buying them right off the boat or catching them yourself. They simply did the shucking for you, and charge accordingly :)
Should we quit buying unshucked oysters? Are you going to make all the other stuff they show in their video? Thirdly, his much for that tub of oysters you were using? They are like $40.00 to $60.00 around here...
Sapo, they are encouraging people to buy more pre-shucked oysters, so the shells can return to the estuaries to help prevent the killing off of our oyster reefs. Restaurants that use a large volume of oysters could easily buy pre-shucked oysters for their recipes. There will always be raw oysters on the half shell, but for oysters that are cooked like in this video, in would make a huge difference if people would go with pre-shucked oysters. I do plan on cooking other things in the oyster beds, and the tub of oysters I used in this video was $11.00 I can buy the large one which is a little over 2 dozen oysters for around $22.00 These oysters came from Pass Christian, MS Some of the best oysters you can get.
I ordered two of the smaller oyster beds for my husband’s birthday which was 08-01. Unfortunately, they came a day late, but tonight we’re making your recipe! We can’t wait! My husband was thrilled with his gift and has subscribed to your RUclips channel. Thanks again! M
If you find it difficult to obtain Absinthe, you can use Pernod, or even Ouzo.
Russ this video is completely. ..AWESOME. THANKS FOR SHARING
Thank you so much Ray, and your welcome brother :)
Bought one and using it this evening with your grilled oyster recipe. I'm expecting a fantastic meal. Thanks for the video.

Awesome Video! Awesome Cause!
Thank you Randy :)
WOW! I love The Oyster Bed mission and product; just wished I liked oysters!! :)
You can use the oyster beds on many things other than oysters. I'll be doing another video soon, showing just that. Thanks for watching :)
Can't wait, Russ!! :)
Smoky Ribs You have a greet week, too Rus! :D
@@SmokyRibsBBQ yes thank you!
Great vid!
Oh, wow, Rus! That looked absolutely incredible, man. Anytime I can crank up a blow torch, I'm over that. LOL Great looking pan, too!

This is so yummy here. I like this idea a lot. Could you just use this mixture as a soup??
I love oysters by the bushel on the half shell raw. 😊😊
Raw is my most favorite way too, but I also really love a good oyster po'boy on French bread.

Hey Russ, looks awesome, I shared this on my facebook page, anything for a good cause
Do oysters taste fishy I don't like fish but this recipe looks so so good I wanna try it.
doublejbbq loves this as well
Thanks guys :)
love oyster
I 100% understand the story from the oyster beds etc but i can't imagine those oysters out of plastic package to be as good as right out the shell
beside that, it does looks AMAZING
These are local and freshly shucked oysters, and there is no difference in taste or texture than from straight out of the shell, however there are some companies that ship nationwide and they use a pasteurization process for safety reasons, and those do taste different. I will not buy those. Buying these oysters are no different than buying fresh fish or shrimp from a local fish market that have them on ice, compared to buying them right off the boat or catching them yourself. They simply did the shucking for you, and charge accordingly :)
Sounds nice! Keep up the awesome video's! Greetings from Belgium
I LOVE YOU!!! LMAO
;)
❤️
Good video, but man it could have been done in 2:30 instead of 17:00
I love you 🙂
Should we quit buying unshucked oysters?
I know where to get both ... I can take the shells and throw them in the intercostal canal
I’m a dam yankee why don’t we just recycle the shells am I wrong?
you know what brother, I quit smoking almost 2 years ago but dayum if I don't need a cigarette and to be held right now, may be a shower too
Lol Bubba, and thanks brother! I hope I don't make you start smoking again ;)
