Imagine watching them live during 1982, amazing band with impeccable performances and of course having an outstanding singer. That singing voice is pure gold.
Can't believe this excellent song was not included in the 1981 album Premonition. This is outrageous. Record companies really have NO idea of great music. They must be tone deaf. Or totally stoned.
Bickler definitely had one of the most versatile voice judging by his singing from early 70s onwards 👏 His sweet soulful/gritty rock vocals combo is candy to my ears. He's always been one of my favourite singers since my childhood. 😊💯
While I'm a huge admirer of Bobby Hatfield and his vocals 😍, but wow, just wow, this man voice is phenomenal! Great catchy song too. Loving this guy edgy soul soaked rock n roll vocals. Beautiful 😍
just wanted to acknowledge the video editor (wildironlizzy)? for painstakingly syncing this video especially considering how little dave bickler video is out there....especially early/young dave bickler, which is a damn shame. thank you again i am so appreciative.
Thank you for your kind comment! Good news- I have made another video for all the Survivor with Dave Bickler fans. Video clips better synced :) This one's a real treat ;) Coming real soon...
@@carried1676 Please don't get too excited. They're probably clips you have already seen but arranged in a different order but better audio quality 😄 however, i will be uploading live footage from 1993 and 1994. Not the best quality but rare clips. I guess as long as Bickler is singing and, for his female fans, just seeing his face will suffice. 😉 👌
Wow no wonder Premonition is such a short album they easily could have added this to the record and have plenty of space Premonition is their shortest album just barely 33 minutes their first album had 11 tracks and just about 40 minutes I guess scotti bros cheaped out on their second album cause the first one was so expensive. This is surprising it wasn't included would have been an amazing addition to an already phenomenal album!
Dave bickler is the real true original voice of survivor it is not Jim you're a true fan of survivor you would know that those who do not know that or stupid if you think Jim was it was Dave
I agree. Don't like Jimi Jameson who came after who sang all those power ballads. I don't know... he was kind of cheesy. He wasn't like a true rock guy like Dave Bickler was.
I personally prefer David Bickler in the studio, but his voice faltered over the years and Jimi Jamison was a great live performer. Remember before Survivor he was in a heavy metal band called Cobra and I wish he could've gotten the band to stick with a hard rock sound, but they went too far pop for my tastes.
@@FiveBoroNative . How did his voice falter over the years. ? When they regrouped in 1993 Dave's voice was in top form. Best I ever heard him sing. He was a powerhouse all through his forties when he regrouped with them. Not just in his prime. I admit he's lost vocal prowess now that he's almost seventy but that's all great singers as they age.
@@carried1676 David Bickler had developed pollups after the Eye of The Tiger days and I think some of the damage may be evident when you listen to certain tracks on the "Caught In The Game" album. He is among my favorite vocalists so I wouldn't speak ill of him, but I believe that Survivor had to keep the momentum going and thus the arrival of Jimi Jamison.
@@FiveBoroNative . Yes I know about the polyps and why he had to leave the band so he could rest his voice. Has nothing to do with vocal prowess and talent though. Could happen to anyone. Dave said it's very common for singers to develop this. Once he got the proper recouperation he was better than ever. There was no lasting damage. He said the surgery was effective which was evident when he returned. He was a powerhouse when he regrouped with the band. Even better I find than when he was in his prime during premonition/eye of the Tiger time and he rocked the block then too. I love Dave. 🥰💕💕💞🔥💗. Not a fan of the soft rock mid eighties Jimi Jameson era of Survivor . Just my personal opinion.
Good song. I wish Survivor had stuck with a more hard rock sound, but looking back at the 80's they were in a weird place. They had a soft rock look with a relatively hard sound, but the hard rock aesthetic seemed to be dominated by "heavy metal" rock bands....
Lol! Can't see Bieber fans coming across this obscure channel unless he's covered this song? Yes, I noticed the very recent cluster of dislikes on my Survivor vids.Tends to be fans who don't like this kind of heavier music by the band or a personal 'irrational' dislike for Bickler. Very infantile. Incredible singers from all genres generate envy from others. I sadly see this also with Steve Perry who is an outstanding singer. 😒
@@WildIronLizzy yes, that is true. Music and singing has become tribalistic. They don't appreciate the composition of the music or the beauty of the singing voice. They are partial to a band or singer regardless if the song or singing is actually good. I might be some hardline Jimi Jamison fans. I see a fair few go out their way to dislike any Dave videos and prop Jimi up on his videos. Completely irrelevant. Dave must be 'that' good of a singer then! 😄
@@jakeywilliams hehe... all videos have dislikes. But I see people compliment Jamison (RIP) too. People should watch and like videos they actually enjoy. Ironically Bickler and Jamison were real good friends. 👍 Anyway, there is always a party pooper! 😃
@@WildIronLizzy Got to admit, Jamison Cobra and Target music was real good stuff. His voice suit this kind of heavier music. The pop rock stuff he recorded with Survivor was light weight for his voice in my opinion.
@@jakeywilliams I concur. I really like some of the Target music I heard so far and there is a song of theirs right up my street. Really catchy. Jimi was great in Target. 👍
FYI: This song, "Missing Persons" was part of the 1981 Survivor demo recorded by the original Survivor band and rhythm section with me, Gary Smith on drums and Dennis Keith Johnson on bass. We also recorded "Summer Nights", "Live With Me Tonight", "Children of the Night", "Light of a Thousand Smiles", and "Take You on a Saturday" on that demo, before we left the band. The video you've created is very clever but depicts the wrong players. Also, we are not credited in the video description, which at the very least should be corrected.
I liked to listen to Bickler as much as Dokken.. clean, smooth and REALLY up there. This is a great track and who's the gorilla again that called the cut on the CD?? Duh
I wonder what happened to Dave after 1983 with his career. Must have been devastating to have to leave the band. I know he rejoined in 1993, but still, that's 10 years. If I were him I would have tried to start a band in 1984-85, but I assume he would have been pigeonholed as the Eye of the Tiger dude
They said his voice quality declined after he had his vocal cord surgery and he had a hard time finishing shows so they replaced him. I also heard he didn't want to tour that much so that was a problem too.
Unfortunately no. ☹ They had originally recorded it for their 1981 Premonition album but the idiot producer thought the song was too hard rock for the album 😤
Great song but in my opinion doesn't quite fit on the Premonition album (which is a great album). It's a bit too hard rock compared to the rest and has no keyboards
I see your point and it's a valid point too. This is more a hard rock guitars driven track and was probably deemed less fitting for the Premonition album by their record company. However, this song is more up my street and still sounds excellent today. They could put this song on any Survivor album (Bickler era) and i be very happy. :) One of their best songs in my humble opinion :)
@@WildIronLizzy Wasn't Survivor a hard rock band? So what's the problem about this song? So very pity, this song sounds like a real hit, and it might have been a hit, if it was released as a single. Have they ever played it live ? I'm sure fans would have loved it!

Cool song! Cool video too. The lead singer is gorgeous!!! ;)
I’m surprised that this song was cut! I like the premonition album, but I could pick a few songs that I could trade for this one.
