This fight in particular is so strange to me, not as in the fight itself but the dialogue out of it, seeing Vader partially out of suit feels so strange and him speaking in Anakin’s voice partially and Vader’s the other half, really makes you take a step back and realize that he’s not fully machine
Star Wars definitely has a lot of media, Movies, Cartoons, Video Games, Spinoffs, Parodies, it's even got it's own holiday (May 4th) it's never too late to get into it, just keep an open mind and dont go into it expecting every movie to be god tier, that's how i see it.
Darth Vader wasnt at his peak in this fight. He was still a learner. By episode 4 "A New Hope". He's peak and surpassed Obi Wan
i agree that his peak was a new hope, him losing this duel was complete bs since obi wan was slightly less powerful than knightfall anakin. and vader at this point is marginally more powerful than anakin at his peak.
Vader never surpassed Obi Wan. Obi left Vader _terrified_ in the Death Star and then punked him in the trench.

@@Dan1el7493 It's funny you use plot as the only reason Vader doesn't get killed by Cere or Obi, but that's my exact way of thinking the other way around. Cere is nowhere near Vader level and that's just fact. Downplayed Vader so hard in that game it's not even funny. Same with the Obiwan show. Vader surpassed ep3 Anakin in power regardless of his potential being axed, while mastering ALL lightsaber forms with his suit actually helping him in dueling in new disney canon. And he still loses to an old man who hasn't used the force or his saber in a decade, let alone even physically fit to withstand the amount of force Vaders prothstetics have behind them. That show and duel is actually pathetic to the star wars brand. Their talking scene was good, that's about it. Even then Obiwan accepts Anakins gone and doesn't kill Vader? Garbage.
Vader IS nerfed against people he cares for, his inner conflict. Conflict is the biggest and most consistent part of Anakin's character. Always a little dark when he was in the light, and a little light in the dark. Palpatine could sense it and he's not making Vader feel better at all, he's just telling the truth. Palpatine in the comics literally shit talks Vader all the time. "I thought you were the chosen one, supposed to bring balance" and things like anyone can be picked for the chosen one role, you're not special and you're nothing more than my tool while choking him out. If he wanted Vader to feel better he would have gave Vader aid in searching for Obiwan there with the empires support. Instead he tells him the truth that he was conflicted and to focus on the bigger picture of the galaxy. Vader is the better duelist and has an understanding of both light and dark while mastering all lightsaber forms. And 10 years of no training from Obiwan makes their experience and training time through the force equal out regardless of their age gap. The other 10 years Obi doesn't do anything either. Vader has more experience, power, skill, abilities, and can use his superior force power to move faster than Obiwan.
Obiwan realizes he can't kill Vader in ep4 and just gives up. Obiwans only goal throughout the entire og trilogy is "kill Vader", it's all he ever wants Luke to do. Even in the ep6 throne room in legends Obiwan is telling Luke through the force to kill his father. If that's all he cared about and he was more powerful, why didn't he kill him in ep4? Because old Ben couldn't match him lmao
Also my og comment states a pre ep2 Anakin that's still a padawan beat Obiwan in a duel. Ep3 he was conflicted and consumed in the dark side and drowning in his arrogance and went for a dumb move because of it. You just don't understand the character lil bro
And I really like Obiwan and the relationship between him and Anakin. It's just that if there's no connection between the 2 then Anakin dogwalks him like any other jedi. Their connection is what saves him. Obiwan stans can't really comprehend this or are just simply coping.

There’s no point in watching exclusively the fight. That’s dumb. Most of them are emotionally charged, watching only the flashy stuff without context makes no sense, at all… and if you ever do, having watched the fights before is gonna destroy your experience.
