  • Following the well-known haulage company Eddie Stobart, famous for their iconic green lorries and smartly dressed drivers, as they work around the clock to load-up, drive and deliver their cargo to their deadlines.
    This highly popular observational documentary featuring haulage firm Eddie Stobart shows Stobart’s Haulage, Rail and Air divisions. The programme joins the drivers as they take on the challenges of delivering everything from the new pitch at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, to a London Landmark - the famous Piccadilly lights. It's all a bit sensationalist though, with perfectly normal traffic congestion being described as the drivers' "worst nightmare" and standard delivery deadlines made out to be life-or-death cut offs. The series also meets a new breed of drivers, as 20 young lads compete to win a place on the firm’s coveted apprenticeship scheme.

    I travel over a 24 mile bridge two times a day, every weekday! It's called the "Causeway". It's in New Orleans, Louisiana in the US. For a small time while on the bridge, you cannot see land on either side!

    Multidrop in an artic with only a few pallets seems crazy... 16:28 That building overhang is the danger too when reversing.. 22:06 Thunderbirds are go.. Fun fact: The original Eddie Stobart is still alive. Born 1929 aged 91. 24:44 Lovely horses. It is a great pity most things are just seen as a money and profit earner. 26:37 I have never seen horses loaded sideways on to the direction of travel before. Must be a reason?

    `The world's longest bridge is the Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge in China, part of the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. The bridge, which opened in June 2011, spans 102.4 miles (165 kilometers)`

    • @RWL2012
      @RWL2012 3 года назад +1

      This episode first aired on Channel 5 on the 3rd of June 2011; however the claim was still false as someone else said in here - "the longest of its type until 1998".

    The Humber bridge is not the longest bridge in the world nor is it "one" of the longest. Its is a paltry 2,200 meters, Its 6th longest in the UK. The longest even when this episode was filmed was 54,000 meters. While the Humber bridge was the longest of its type in the world, it was overtaken by 1,788 meters in 1998 well before this episode was filmed. Why cant the say the facts that its the 8th longest single span bridge in the world?

  • @sgthree
    @sgthree 3 года назад +6

    Longest bridge in the world?! It was the longest OF ITS TYPE until 1998, but certainly not what the title of this video claims. Looking at the cars on the roads (where you can clearly see cars with '03' registrations and later), this was filmed long after that time. Even the narrator says 'one of the longest...'
    Clickbait, perhaps?!
