It's a 7mm socket to remove the bolts. When reinstalling the steering wheel column cover it helps to push the steering wheel lock up to hold the bottom peice in place.
This is a lifesaver for me. While mine still somewhat works I have to hold it down if I wanna use the left turn signal. With something this easy I definitely don’t wanna spend $100 for someone else to do it.
Excellent thorough "how to"..... I had nightmares of having to take the steering wheel off to do this repair. Thanks for the video , it sure simplifies the replacement.
I put in a Chinese POS switch several months before, Easy Peezy. Customer has a little front-end collision has me putting in another and I can't figure out how to get the damn switch far enough out out without hitting the trim. Thinking the customer may have collapsed the column in from the collision, I start removing the Lower dash trim not realizing the damn column telescopes outward besides tilting. I pull outward on the column and Wola!, clearance issue solved. Man , I feel stupid😂
Thank you. Well explained. Im hoping that is my problem. The switch broke months ago and i had to cancel the blinkers all the time. Now I suddenly lost all power to the passenger side Marker- Blinker light. The bulb is good. No power to it. Im hoping its that switch.
Did you ever figure it out? Mine started to do the same today, the headlights only turn off when i turn the car off. When i turn it back to turn them off it doesnt work.
Kind of an older video but I'll see if i get a reply..... I have the LTZ 3.6L model, and basically when i signal right, it will not cancel on its own. When i signal left, i have to push it down a few times for it to click in place then it won't cancel on its own. So if i replace this in the video here, it will fix that? Or could it be something with the electrical stuff you unplug there on the side to remove it?
Yea i ordered the combination switch on kijiji... $70 for shipping!!!! And the switch doesn't fit! When i try to slide it in so the tabs lock into place, the tabs do not reach the holes. I've tried to push on it and tap in it a little further so they'll lock into place. Won't fit. $110 for a faulty part... Unless this is a common problem and/or im doing something wrong? EDIT: Had file the tab holes down, trying not to snap or break anything, they barely fit, parts of it are bent now... and now i cannot get the covers snapped back together.... CHEV IS GARBAGE!!!!!
yes its basically the same steps as this video, remove the trim covers, disconnect electrical connectors, and push the retaining clips and it should come out!! thanks for watching!!
Yay I’m a women and did it the only thing is I can’t get the top cover back on , I locked the steering wheel and still had trouble . Left it will try again later it’s to hot here in Florida 😅

Bro. I love you. It was so f*cking DIFFICULT to find out what mm socket I needed, there's like NO information on it
Bro thank you I was about to have a fit and rip it all out lol
Thanks so much. I thought I was going to have to do trial and error. And probably rip it out like the other comment or 😅
Glad to see clear instructions included with a video that is aimed at showing a specific task. Great video, very helpful!

A trick: watch movies at flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies these days.
@Lachlan Damon Definitely, I have been using Flixzone} for since december myself :)

Gracias amigo 😎😎😎
de nada hermano! saludos
What size socket did you use? It took me a few tries because my set seemed to be missing that exact one. I ended up getting it to work with a 7mm.
yes its a 7mm sockey for the screws on the steering column covers
Is it basically the same with the wiper switch on the other side?...I have to replace mine
Thanks man. Good video.
thank you! im glad you found this video useful!! 🔥🔥
What is the part # for the turn signal switch
The original OEM Part number is 20940396
epic pain in the ass to get the bottom cover back on, it needs to line up with the two slots where the screws go
exacly 😂
It would be helpful if you mentioned what size the bolt is that needs to be removed.
7mm
If the blinker isn’t turning off when you turn the wheel is this what needs to be replaced?
It fixed that exact issue for me.
yes the combination switch could be the issue!
My switch definitely doesnt work, but when I turn wheel it clicks. Do you think the problem is beyond the signal switch?
most of the time, its the switch. if it clicks sometimes then the electrical is working, but the switch isnt working
My headlights won’t turn off of on, but my indicator and high beams work, do you think that’s still the switch?
Did you ever figure it out? Mine started to do the same today, the headlights only turn off when i turn the car off. When i turn it back to turn them off it doesnt work.
Do you have to unplug the battery?
Thanks guy,I have to do that tomorrow 💪✌👍
No problem!
Do I need to disconnect my car battery to change it?
Hey there! no you do not, just having the ignition switched off is fine.
@@RodriguezRepairs thanks for your advice and instructional video. I was able to get this repaired 15 minutes before work.
I struggle to put back the 2 covers 😢
they can be stubborn sometimes! try from the back to the front, in terms of snapping them in place. That might help!
Good video. Appreciate the help

Niiiiiiccceeeee!
thank you! subscribe for more videos :)
Do I have to disable or remove the air bag to do this?
No you dont, if you want to be on the safw side, just disconnect the negative battery terminal and you should be fine
By chance what was the size you used to get the screws out?
i believe it was a 7mm
i believe it was a 7mm

Do you think this is the same for a 2014?
yes its basically the same steps as this video, remove the trim covers, disconnect electrical connectors, and push the retaining clips and it should come out!! thanks for watching!!
You definitely skipped over showing the plastic covers cuz it’s impossible to realign tnem
U can pull the steering wheel forward
yeah like halfway in the video i realized it and pulled it foward lol
Literally impossible to put back that stupid plastic
Is it the same process to replace the wiper/washer lever on the right side of steering wheel?
yes its the same process !
Yay I’m a women and did it the only thing is I can’t get the top cover back on ,
I locked the steering wheel and still had trouble . Left it will try again later it’s to hot here in Florida 😅
