I've heard this album in full already and good lord it is another one to add to the list of great 2013 electronic albums. Many of the songs draw on Burial's sounds and UK Garage in general, but there is still the distinctive Moderat sound. Amazing production.
I like weird thought-provoking music videos like this. Way better than watching the singers try to look cool.

Just came back from seeing their show in Montreal, it was epic! They opened with this incredible song, there was a 3D screen projecting this excellent video, and everyone was just BLOWN-AWAY!!! And yeah, he was singing soooo gooood :)

I recently went to an interpretation of 'An Ideal Husband' by Oscar Wilde(in NTgent, in Belgium) and thinking about it. This music video actually touches some similar ground. The main character even looks like the actor who played Robert Chiltern in the play. What a coincidence.

I wished someone made a movie out of this in the exact same style (blue-lined illustration). A young, ambitious British aristocrat teenager who wishes to escape the system of power and cold-heartness just to see himself finally turn into what he hates most, a ruthless and criminal industrialist who finally pays for it, losing all he had.

I'm 99% sure it's Apparat, it does sound a lot like him, especially when you listen to his vocals on his "The Devils Walk" album. I think he's progressively been working more and more on his vocal style and skill during his time as a producer, definitely sounds like him, and definitely sounds great.
only 4 years catching up. hey! a new rekindle of a talented artist. this guy is madder than mad. hands down the best vid I've seen, since the 80's. yeah! i'm old but back then they told stories, as this one did. and it's appropriate for these times. spot on I'd say!

Great song, I love the refrain:

Set against the music video it is for me a direct response (and criticism) to the great minds and revolutionary rulers of the enlightenment, such as Adam Smith and Thomas Jefferson. The song depicts how the ideals of Liberalism (in the classical sense) and Capitalism were corrupted to serve the emergence of Corporate Imperialism across the globe. It shows a fraction of the destruction and death that these ideas have caused. Despite the fact that corporations might diversify power more than feudal or monarchic states in the past, it hasn't solved many of the problems it was intended to.
Chiefly, Corporate Imperialism comes with its own unique set of evils, not the least of which is the exponential expansion of GREED as a virtue in society.
