Yo, just wanted to say as an almost completely new player(did one longplay by myself), this guide is actually super informative and clear. Watching you not just go through this episode but all the rest of the ones youve posted have been an ENORMOUS help to me learning what bits i didnt know about after playing almost 100 days in A20.7 before moving to A21. I was playing on scavenger - adventurer difficulty on my first play. In my new world, i started nomad, then went to warrior, and am now vibing on survivalist just past my second blood moon. The blood moon base worked absolutely perfectly for me(no zombies even broke any other objects other than the stairs. I know this kind of thing is second nature for you, but ive learned an absolute TON about how to actually make the most of every day and about just the game in general. Thank you so much for all the work you put into this series to help people who want to get into 7Days but dont know how. Keep it up mate, i hope you go big!
Tips to make it even better; replace the bridge with something thinner like centered poles or railings, so zombies fall down more easily. Make it double stacked on top of each other so that if one section breaks because of demos or cop spit, the zombies will still have a path. Additionally you could build pillars on the side of the bridge with electric fencing spanning between them.
This helps A LOT. Not because I'm building my base exactly like yours but you explained a lot of amazing points to understand how I can make MY base better. Thank you! Subscribed!
Just did my day 14 horde with a similar base(I like a longer "runway" for the zombies to get to me) and using a tier 4 hunting rifle. I was able to make several rounds of AP 7.62 and used a combination of that and the spear and it absolutely crushed the hoard. Penetrator perk is still super strong with the hunting rifle.
As a person with learning disabilities I want to say I appreciate you because now I can survive 😂😂. You sir are a legend and have gotten a sub for life from me. Again I'm sure pros call this cheese and worthless but for someone like me with no friends or help, you have given me the best experience and chance to survive. Ty❤❤ also why them birds harassing you during the video 😢😢
i'd recomend changing your bridge from a full block to upper centered pole and that way the zombies dont pile up as much...and will be forced to single file or fall off and then back around again...gives you a little more time to spread your stamina usage...just a thought
You can pretty much just use basic frames if make a platform 11 high (to prevent area destruction) and make a pyramid staircase a small gap away from it. Reinforce the fighting position and the first few steps and you're golden. Takes about five minutes. Upgrade from there later on for spiders/cops on harder difficulties.
I just build an enclosed space on the roof of a gas station or similar building and use a simple set of blocks to climb on/off the roof. I take away the top block to keep zombies from climbing or jumping up. The walls of the building are so tough that you can avoid the horde as long as necessary and just pick them off from the roof at will. No fancy building or planning really needed.
I did the trailer POI earlier today. I knew there was a dog but couldn't remember where it was and I had decided the double loot the mailboxes. Needless to say I didn't see the dog until it was chewing my bum and by then it had already made a mess of me. When I reset the POI I got the dog with minimal damage but failed to see the snake that had spawned on the reset. It was a bad session.
I empathize. The animals seem to be the real threat. Exact same thing happened to me at that POI but no snake. However I have also got gored by two pigs that snuck up behind me side by side while I was aiming at a zombie in the road. They wiped me out in like 3 seconds. Instant broken leg, bleeding, dead.
Although i knew a lot about the build process, i can appreciate your information sharing. I needed it when i first started for sure! Fun video and a great way to showcase your spear! Thanks for another great episode!
I used this design for a21. It worked great for day 7. But for the day 14 horde, only the first batch of zombies came up the ramp and attacked the opening. All zombies after that attacked the supports beneath me, trying to collapse the structure. I knocked out the rail, plate, and beams and was going to rely on the hatches as barriers. But even with the hatches down, making me fully exposed, they still didn't route to the opening. Luckily I had enough molotov cocktails to thin the herd and I didn't die. But why would they change behaviors in the middle of horde night? The only difference from your design is that I had barbed wire set down on the on the path up to the opening, but I had them down on the day 7 horde too.
Love your stuff man, been watching on and off for a few months, recently got back I your content, really enjoying your new playthrough. Thanks for making these
one trick i learned from Glock is to use a wedge shaped block to force the zombies off the pile up. bonus points if you use a corner wedge and make them fall off entirely on this design
the absolute irony is that iv got myself in the rafters of a firehouse too. the zombies mostly go for the garage doors. and when they hit about 60% health the middle opens up allowing you to shoot and stab through the gap. its quite effective actually because i can repair the doors with very little scrap iron.
Very nice. I typically build a 5 high platform with bars to shoot down through for the 7 day horde. After that I start working on my killing corridor, which requires a lot of concrete.
Thats how I usually have built bases, with better equipment I could dig a huge hole under the platform, down there I could build like electric fence so it killed off any zombies there, also had 2 of those junkguns working at the gate that was only 1 block wide... and long so they had a very killing field there.
Did this for my 4th horde but added a auto sledge, an electric wire, and a shotgun turret on the top for birds. Made it all out of concrete. Held up fine.
Oh snap! Thanks for sharing this. Makes me feel good for my first day 7 horde. I may not even have all the metal hatches yet, but I feel I can make it work. Not on nightmare mode 😅
When I first started this game long time ago. All I did was digging. Made my own fortress underground but was lot work but one floor a time then dig under the floor.. all while zombies still on the ground. Good times…
No1 pointing out that on day5 you have managed to read about 300+ magazines to have unlocked the ability to craft all this at those levels? CM carries you much bro.
I was thinking the same thing. How the hell does he have a hammer by day 5? I had to make a base just using the stone hatchet and I couldn't get it done in time. So I moved horde night to 2 weeks. That gives me enough time to find books get the resources I need. Some of it you can buy, but there's no way to get it done in 7 days unless you're lucky and can stand hitting a block slowly 6 times to upgrade to cobble.
Tried and true, though I think we all have our own spin on it. Although I always put plates in the lower 2 blocks of any "oh sh*t" ladders so you don't get trapped where you can't jump up.
I double the height of the base so that zombies take fall damage, i also double the length of the walk way and put 1 high railings every 3-4 blocks along the walk way, it thins out the zombies that get to your fighting position so you don't need that to be as long in the early game so few needs of hatches, also if i get a sledge turret early enough i stick that out front on its own little side ledge to knock zombies off and away from the walk way
Upgrading building blocks is always wicked EXP/XP. So is collecting cement and cobblestone from pallets. Search out Carl's corn, (big sign in front of the house), yes, it's a house. Lots of EXP/XP from both resources. also a few things to have or take to get extra EXP/XP but I'm not into spoiling things for the peeps as to what those things are. Loot for em'.
Looks chill i guess i can cheaply Upgrade that with a 1x3 Window to Fight with My Trio in Coop .. or in General increase the size of the Players Bunker on top
It looks like this base could be modular, just build multiple - possibly facing multiple directions. Then simply connect them to a central room where you can probably keep a chest or 2 of supplies. Should be easy especially if you have 1 or 2 people focused on gathering resources for the week leading up. Or, make the corridor a little wider so multiple people can stand in it.
if u upgrade to steel this base last long, but the problem on day 50+ is that explosions of cops demolished the staircase. Maybe is good idea for upgrade to have a second entry with electric staircase to open or close when the main entry collaps?
I remember my first horde night base and how scared i was. Litterly no joke i put varv wire round a crack a book enterance. Granted this was years ago but that was my very first kill box. I been a fan those for a while. Current build i have after soending so long away i am suprised how much i changed. And experimented Did you know you can place doors on its side? Make pretty knifty trap doors, i use that trick to bridge out to some elsectric traps like a maintance hall As well as i choose which avenue the zombies go down I winder how hard it would be to get sonething to get a blade trap accessable
so this... "trick" of farming tier 1 fetchs even if the magazines bundle reward get nerfed, it still a great idea to farm a lot of items at a relatively low cost, not needing to farm gunpowder to my love the pipe bombs is already a winning point in my view :D btw, I have been watching enough, I'll suscribe, I like how you play, practically like a total pro (and I love that)
Only thing I'd point out is upgrading that lip to cobble as well. If it goes, so does your door. Other than that it's a solid ass horde base for the first couple of hordes for sure 👌
I never bother with the steps at the entrance to the horde base because I figured it was better to slow them down and make them jump the blocks so that they are an easier target for molotovs but maybe there is a good reason to use the steps?
It just depends what you want your horde base to do. If you have a fighting position you’re confident in i say give them an easy way up. The faster they get to your position, the faster you can kill them and get xp. There are definitely bases you would want to slow them down and make them hop though. Both are ways to get them up to you, its just a matter of what you prefer.
If you were to make your own home base from scratch, not horde base. What would your home base look like mate? Could you make a video of one. I am trying to see if I can make one of my own from scratch rather than make one from an already made building.
why not do the metal spikes and use a 0.25 centered pole for horde night? worked in alpha 20.6 real well for me. and allowed me to use just a pipe rifle to slaughter brain eaters cause they kept falling off into spikes.
ask prebuilt: In your previous video: Here's Why Shotguns Are The Best - 7 Days To Die Alpha 20 was a great video and I was curious if Alpha 21 has changed any of the dynamics as i don't see anyone using it
oh my god! Favoriting frequently used blocks? What in the actual EFFF have i been doing, and thinking? Yay, Vultures aren't completely borked in A21. Can't stand their ESP hax that let them change direction as soon as you aim on them. At least that's what's happening to me. Have to wait until they're in their dive, but sometimes they move even then.
usually make something like this for a day 14+ horde as day 7 is kind of a joke. Made a wider variant of it for a day 7, 5 man horde on A21, and the second wave smashed smashed through all 12 cobblestone blocks keeping them out, murdering us all. The desert gamestage modifier is no joke, ferals and cops galore.
Hey can you do a late game tutorial for a base? I've been researching it and well I could do the figuring out myself, but you know the game better than me.
I am on day 49 of a no gun run and honestly, the spear and crossbow combo has been a breeze. Plus all the guns and ammo/brass is just cash so money comes in quick to enable you to jump up in spear quality very fast.
I played this game on ps a long time ago and there used to be a water glitch to keep infinite water in the base using a 4 block, scooping water out of it with a glass bottle and then scooping the rest of the water with a bucket out of the corner and dumping it back in would refill it. Does anyone know if this trick still works?
I’d like to request a video with your thoughts on alpha21. I think it’s a little bit underwhelming but haven’t seen any youtuber who share the same sentiment besides some of the things that you said on your live stream.
I do a similar design. But my posts are reinforced 9 times with poles, and plates, as well as the walkway reinforced. But, that was Alpha 20. Am I right to assume it would be great in A21 as well? I haven't gotten. To a blood moon yet in A21. However, I am going to take some of your design, and put it into my own! It looks really good!
Is it possible to survive for a long time making cool looking bases as long as you stick to some of these fundamentals you showed us while making these or well it cause the zeds to behave differently? If there's let say pillars and such.
My buddy always sleeps on candy and mega crush buffs. Last horde night they died 7 times within a few minutes complaining about stamina and being too slow while asking how tf i was so fast and always running/able to kite back..... -We never build any defences for our first 3 horde nights, we just kite in a random street with melee, and only use guns if we really need to-
I just stood on top of a building and picked them off with stone arrows. No need to build a complicated setup. I didn't even start constructing a base until after day 21. Still fighting hordes from atop buildings ... less work and you just move on to another building.
Do you already have or could you make a design on a progression type base for a 2 player team where you add on to the base to keep it in line with the game stage?
You know that there's a 3*3 block you can make. It's either 3*3 or 3*5. Something like that. Making it easier to build. Course you lose out in exp. (A little). But hey, you'll get levels the longer you play. Very easy. Though, not sure if it is still in 21. Haven't played newest update yet.
Episode #4: ruclips.net/video/M0kBRtHFWeU/видео.html
Thanks!
Is this still usable for the PS 5 V1.0?

Same! I just got on the PC after playing on Xbox for years. Love his helpful insights and sexy voice.

I appreciate the sped up bits rather than cuts

With Spear Hunter Maxed, you can spam power attack without much stamina loss. It's kind of fun! I love the idea of padding for extra block hps.

Only thing I'd point out is upgrading that lip to cobble as well. If it goes, so does your door. Other than that it's a solid ass horde base for the first couple of hordes for sure 👌
If you put upside down ramps above the front door, the zombs can not pile up. And it only costs 3 blocks.
I never bother with the steps at the entrance to the horde base because I figured it was better to slow them down and make them jump the blocks so that they are an easier target for molotovs but maybe there is a good reason to use the steps?

maybe its because i made the bridge part 1 block less, a few zombie tends to smash the walls a bit before pathing up the stairs.
Hey been watching you for a while now this base I my goto in a pinch I ran into the same iron hatch change too lol
I wish bridges generated in random worlds, because the ones in the navesgane map can convert into this super quickly.
Loving the series so far, do you think youll do one of these for insane nightmare..?

I played this game on ps a long time ago and there used to be a water glitch to keep infinite water in the base using a 4 block, scooping water out of it with a glass bottle and then scooping the rest of the water with a bucket out of the corner and dumping it back in would refill it. Does anyone know if this trick still works?
I've seen a hordebase similar to this one but it had a crawl space at the corridor. So the zeds had to expose their heads to get to you
Can you send the video of it? I am really interested in a design like that....
I’d like to request a video with your thoughts on alpha21. I think it’s a little bit underwhelming but haven’t seen any youtuber who share the same sentiment besides some of the things that you said on your live stream.
i dont even need to watch these videos (8k hours deep into this) i just do it because i like hearing another turbo nerd at this game.
Great content.
Has the pathing for zombies changed in aloha 21 that you are aware of just did our first horde night
My buddy always sleeps on candy and mega crush buffs. Last horde night they died 7 times within a few minutes complaining about stamina and being too slow while asking how tf i was so fast and always running/able to kite back.....
-We never build any defences for our first 3 horde nights, we just kite in a random street with melee, and only use guns if we really need to-
very nice but i want to see you include how to farm and how to get some Medicine in the next video !!
