How come a switch sometimes will not work when wiring it to electric relay then to a generator bank. I was trying to use a switch then wire 2 shotgun turrets to the switch allowing me to have some better control of the turret for my horde defense.
@@michaelzephyros7725 Only things I can think is make sure you're not using timer relays (make sure they're just normal wire relays) & make sure you have enough power. Otherwise try just going straight from the generator to the switch to the turret, that should work fine.
I already knew how electricity worked in 7DTD, yet I still watched this all the way through with how well the video was made, and I even learned some new tricks Hope this channel blows up soon, this is very underrated
20 minutes of my life and now i understand something in this game that has scared me for a long time. i actually just pulled off my very first horde base with traps because of you. you earned a sub
Thank you for the tutorial. I was stuck in my old ways from the old console 7 days to die that got abandoned. I recently died for the first time in a hord night and knew something needed to change❤️
I feel you on this! I still played console until last year, it was a lonely adventure but I love the game. Upgraded to PC couple months ago and to say I was “lost” was an understatement 😂
Amazing video!!! I’ve watched so many that are double the length of this and still left me doubting! Clear, precise and straight to the point! Thank you!
I appreciate how clear the instructions are. I've made it to very late game horde nights without ever using traps or turrets because I couldn't be bothered to learn what I felt like I didn't need, but with how easy this appears to be, I think it will be a great addition to my horde bases. Thank you. 10/10.
me and some friends just started playing this game and i guess im the electrician XD these videos have been SUPER helpful, the step by step process and making sure to give pointers on how to make the traps a little more cost effective is really nice. i know it probably is a bit annoying to set up and record these types of videos but i really do appreciate them. cheers
Wow... I have been playing 7 days to die for about 2 weeks. I learned about the game from Neebs gaming and decided to try an Int build just to get the sledge turret ( Dick puncher ).... I got a trap bundle that came with some blade traps and got a few fence posts from the trader but really had no idea how to use them. I currently have a double iron door place horizontally right in front of my fighting window and can drop the doors and all the zombies if they get too thick. My best friend has a spot to toss flaming cocktails when they land... the pit is concreted in and has a lip they have to climb over to get out. Otherwise I have only used a set of sledge turrets.... day 28 was actually quite boring. Great video, you have my like and sub sir... i am getting to work on a killer base!
Fantastic video! Very clear and concise, and easy to understand. This is exactly what I needed to understand electricity in 7D2D to enhance my killing efficiency on horde nights. You've earned a sub! Thank you!
This is an excellent guide! Articulate, detailed, and straight to the point. I was worried about the electrical system but now I think I can wire it up.
This helped me a lot, my friends and I just got into the game around Halloween and we're finally getting around to doing wiring stuff. Thanks for the good tutorial! Liked and subbed!
hey man! me and the boys all got 7 days and have been enjoying the hell outta it on ps5! I never EVER comment on youtube. You did an amazing job! Im at work, haven’t even turned on my monitor, and I feel I completely understand how we can use our traps now. Thanks man!
this video was simple, useful and straight to the point. As a novice in the matters of electricity and traps, i feel comfident to go in and try it myself! Ty for your content!
Thanks man! I've only recently just started getting into this game and loving it. I'm not far in but this video is super useful for just getting setup and getting the hang of it. Much appreciated! Subbed! 👍😎
fun fact, you can hook a switch to a pressure plate, to a trap that way you can have a one way path that you can safely get in and get out, also saves the tediousness of walking back and forth to a generator if you placed it somewhere safe
Super how to video on wiring and traps. Your explanations are fantastic. Do you get XP from all traps if you max out the perk in A21 or do you also need books/magazines? I love how well your bases work and how inexpensive they tend to be early game yet upgradable for later with traps. I hate to build temporary even if I intend to move later. Your bases are easily upgradable as time moves on. Great video, thank you.
Thanks for the kind words! Advanced Engineering gives more XP from traps the higher you level it, it doesn't ever hit 100% but it gets pretty close from what I remember.
So if I get it right when it comes to the posts it's only the last ones in the chain which needs repairing? Or do you still need to somehow get to the other one at the end in the example?
Is it always only the "last" in the circuit electric fence pole that get damaged? That's not what i experienced trying it out as a new player yesterday
Assuming you are only doing 2 fence posts at a time, then yes. If you are daisy chaining loads of them then it becomes difficult to manage and its the last one before the next circuit break that gets damaged. So always easier to just do 2 at a time and back to the generator - its safer and stops your chain breaking if a random fence post blows out and means you can stay on top of repairs.
i forget if its 27 or 32 off the top of my head, but since darts stop after a set distance, you can also point them towards you from out in the distance and shoot the zombies in the backs, but you'll stay safe and out of reach cus they just poof away, and you can also use a step trap sensor on a wall or floor and just press it and set it to x seconds, so you set it up in the corner or something, back up into it, and go back to fighting without even turning your head, instead of pressing a switch that you have to aim at and push/interact with... love your basebuilds and vids, notonly25, have you considered an a21 darkness falls game? i'd love to watch you go for it sometime
Not sure, but stringing more than 2 fences together at a time does leave you open for one of the middle ones breaking and breaking the chain, so always preferable to do them in 2's where possible and know that the last one in line takes the damage. I would never string more than 2 together so I don't know the answer to your question I'm afraid. Thanks for watching!
10:50 I can't do this it won't connect cant reach or its just take the wire from there instead and not connecting am i doing something wrong? Instead of connecting it take out the wire im not pressing left only right
It can be a bit fiddly, you need to get the mouse pointer in the exact right spot and right click but it should work as long as you have the wire tool equipped
Would there be any reason why my fences arent working properly. I have them connected to a relay and over to the fences, i have about 22 connected to one generator that is full of fuel and has a 150W power output. I can turn it on but it doesnt shock any of zombies.
This was VERY helpful, thank you. I'm BRAND new at this and I've really been working hard. But I do have a question, how are you able to do whatever you like? I just wanted to see all the goodies and tried to put it into "Creative" mode...But after logging in, it didn't work... It was just me starting a new game and i didn't have ANY items in creative...Can you help me understand how you did it?
Glad you found it helpful, thanks for watching. Creative menu is a little lightbulb type icon on the right of the screen when you're in the menu. You can also turn it on and off by entering the console (by pressing F1) and typing "cm" and it will tell you creative is turned on/off. Hope this helped!
Just a quick question: Do you need your own land claim block placed down in order to actually make the blade traps work? A group of friends play and we've had one of the players place a land block. However, if I place down an electric trap and wire it up as in this video, it won't work at all. Does the player who places the land claim block need to place the trap for it to work? Awesome video! Makes it loads easier to understand. My apologies if I missed any mention of land block claims in the video.
No, but you can wire a switch from the generator and then wire things from the switch. If the switch is off the generator shouldn't use much if any fuel.
Should be under powered doors in your crafting menu and work the same way as everything else - wire from the generator to the switch to the powered door and use the switch to control it
Nice video, very easy to understand and helped me a bunch. Btw how do you make a world like this? I know it's in editing tools, but how do we make a world like this for testing?
Yeah, just open up the console by pressing F1, type CM for the creative menu to be turned on and DM for debug mode to be turned on. There's probably even videos about the debug mode out there to walk you through how to use it etc.
