Best tip (mainly for console players) is to have a second save file for testing purposes. Have creative mode on, and just experiment with things. Find something you like, and then build it in your main save. That way you don’t waste materials finding out that huge base you made didn’t work as intended. Or collapsed too easily, etc. always test in creative before bringing it into your main.
Plus, you can plan out your base from day 7 all the way to day 700. Design something to start out with, and then see how you can expand it over time. Then in your main game you start off with that basic design and know which parts to add to first, and where you eventually want it to end up. And you can’t skip days on console, but you can make the days really short! So when you’re ready to test it, go into the settings and change day length to really short to get to horde night and test it. Note that hordes are meant to last all night on a 60 minute length only. If you’re playing on 90 minute days they’ll stop spawning I think around 1am.
@@Nathan35077 I'm almost certain they continue spawning well beyond 1am. I had a blood moon a couple of hours ago, and demo zombies popped in about 2am.
@Nathan35077 I think this dependant on the number of zombies you have spawn and the difficulty, cause I have 2 hour days 12 zombie spawn on nomad and they lasted all night.
@vikingr92-124 yeah idk what the system is. I switched from 60 to 90 minute days and had 2 horde nights end really early. And then switched back to 60 and it was back to ending at 4am. So I assumed it was based on that, but then the next one ended at 2. So I’m not sure what causes that, but it does seem I was mistaken about day length being the cause. Maybe it’s just random. When I got higher game stage it hasn’t happened again though so far
21:02 Another tip I learned for preventing zombies to stack up and climb over: Use the simple 45 degree ramp upside down on the top of the entry of your fighting position. This will prevent the zombies from climbing over, because they are "pushed" down! Great video, you got a new subscriber!

One important thing to note is that if you surround yourself with blocks other than full blocks or ramp blocks cop zombies can see through most other blocks and will spit at your base causing significant damage over time, specially in the later game stages.

Good Tips. My preference is for using a hatch to close the entry point with a .025m pole directly above the hatch to make it too small for them to fir through while the zombies run along a round pole to get to me, about 3 blocks along that way there's a robot sledge turret that yeets them off(usually far enough that they have nothing to attack if they rage). I keep my sides clear of grates and railing to avoid having cops try to shoot me through them(or place hatches over them). Once i get tech high enough you can make a spiral where the pole they run to get to your fighting zone gets them to an edge on the side they then need to run along encountering multiple blade traps that you can repair from the inside(i'd recommend a railing here to avoid running afoul your own blades) and then if they make it the whole way i can just stun baton them off(or other melee weapon) and they can go run the whole path again. if they pile up too much then place some inverted ramps above the path so when they jump on top of each other they are shunted off the path(back to start with yee). All else fells set some powered hatches up to be open(thus making a path) and a switch for you on your exit route to toggle their state and dump everything from the most important areas.

This was a great video. I'm quite new to the game with only about 120 hours (all within an embarrasingly short time frame). Id to see a video of all the blocks tested. Creative mode on console isnt as easy to test.

You can keep it charged and if your generator runs out of gas without you knowing it, the battery bank will be fully charged to take on the work load as a failsafe. I'm not sure what the trade in costs are though. Hopefully it doesn't consume a lot more gas to keep the bank charged up. 🤔

You can actually buy some things for cheaper than you can sell them for in the vending machines! Some big ticket items I used were solar panels. I’d get them for really cheap using all the buffs possible, and then put them in my vending machine. But like I said, that may have been changed. As I still have some in my machine and I looked at their price in there now and it seems much lower than it was before. So I’m not sure if that changed or I just don’t remember how much it used to be lol they’re selling for around 20k now. But I swore it was like double that before. And I was buying them for like 10-15k.
Just keep in mind, when the days of your rental run out? Everything inside vanishes… so always make sure to either rent an additional amount of time or empty it before the time runs out.

How do I build prettier blocks? I’ve been trying to figure out how to build blocks that aren’t just the basic upgrade patterns. And is there a way to get rid of that gross rusty metal pattern that appears when you use certain block trims?
I’m so bad at this game. Even with legendary weapons I get killed as soon as rad zombies start. Hoards are super easy but poi’s I get bulldozed every time.
make sure to have your armor piercing perks as well Rad zombies heal from the radiation within themselves so you need radscrubber to take them out easier
When you’ve selected the building block in your hot bar, hold down the square button on your controller. It brings up a wheel with choices. At the top is change shape. Select that, then on the left is a column of categories. Stairs have their own, but also basic stairs show up on the default screen
why do you build so much? you need only 2 things and you can stay afk... you will lose nothing and you get 0 damage on the building... meta building is not good bro

I used this to practice flying and landing the gyrocopter so I would t burn through my repair kits with all the crashing.

Paintbrush and paint. Easy to make and you can scrap dye for paint and I think craft it in the fireplace. Hold R to select the pattern.

No. You can only break it. That’s why it’s safer to build with wood frames. Wood frame blocks can be picked up and put back down again until upgraded.
