If you search for "rail" and toggle showing all blocks, you will be able to find the first result called "Cube 7m Round Catwalk Rails Only 01", which is perfect for letting turrets shoot though, but not letting zombies move through.
I've found with blade traps if you keep them about 3 blocks off the ground (since zombies won't be able to reach the center portion unless they pile up), they stand less chance of getting destroyed (durability will still go down just from use), but the blades will still chop up zombies (except maybe de-legged zeds).
sweet simple base. If you were worried about storage boxes being protected, you could put a plate on top of them possibly. My last playthrough I did a lot of turrets in a similar base to your first a21 playthrough and I didnt have to shoot a single bullet for the hordes because the 10 turrets and dart traps and fences did all the work got boring to quick. day 54 and 63 hordes I might have fired only 1 or 2 mags worth lol. Awesome build and series.
24:30 if you made the ramps and 1st floor of the base >13 blocks high, there's no chance od zombies going into rage mode. I always do a couple extra like 15 high incase the fall onto a trap or another zombie.
I'd love to see you do a tower corridor base design with that kind of traps just chewing through zombies on the entrance. Basically just out all the turrets on the one side. 16 turrets, 2 robotic turrets, and you just in the middle with an M60. I wonder how quickly that could finish a horde night.
I reckon my last play through used somewhere around 30 shotgun turrets and another 25 or so 9mm turrets then maybe 30 blade traps and 10 junkies placed so i had cover whenever i got adventurous...ahhh the ammo grind.
Fun building design I incorporate. Obviously its too late for this base. But I will mention it for any viewers. I make my floor 2 levels thick. At the "combat window" I will leave a space for a turret on the bottom of the two levels. I then use a trap door to get access and allow to reload during horde night. This lets me reload as needed and doubles as a second wall incase things hit the fan.
You may want to put a set of regular rails on all the sides of the blocks that hold the shot gun turrets up to the top so they are totally incased. I think that would keep the spiders from trying to jump on that block holding the turrets. Excellent base. Thanks for sharing it.
Also go down to rock so that they don't try to dig under the base. We have this setup on our Aussie server and it works reasonably well except the zombies do tend to love going in to destroy mode part way through the night. Also it helps when you have 3 x level 200+ players with rockets to clear away zombies attacking the core.
You could mitigate the turret damage to the base if you use the Meta; Truss shape. I had to build bases out of those for a while since my brother has to use shotguns.
Seems like those steel storage options on a Block face would be good for keeping supplies safe in a horde base. Especially if the block isn't part of an external wall.
For the ramp you could place "catwalk v2 wedge plate only" on the sides so the zombies never destroy the ramp explanation: they can't path over that block so they avoid the ramp until they get to the front.
Maybe try some barbed wire to slow them down and mount some at the end of turns so they're shooting straight at them all lined up? idk if that would make a difference or not.
If you move the generator below the lip it's above so the lip can shield it, the wiring should still reach the turrets it is tied to, and nothing should hit it.
seen tests with the scaffolding ladder, most doesnt show that you can throw molotov through the horizontal option. Was tested on a vertical and concluded it doesnt work, it does :D
that horde base does seem to be able to support an underground crafting base also.. just have an hatch in the floor of the fighting room, that leads into he crafting area. with some turrets outside keeping screamers away. Doesn't seem to have to use more resources then what you done for the rest of the crafting base. Also.. I seen other youtuber have like an second character in their world to act like an drone to show more of the area around the base, which might be something you wanna think of for future videos. Otherwise great work always interesting to see how you play the game, i am still learning so I do learn from watching you. :)
instead of the sharp corners for the bridge to the base what if you put in some sort of diagonal to keep the ai focused on getting to you more than going into demolition mode? just a thought
What about the cop puke???? They can see you all round yr base, at a higher lvl that base will fall.... Let alone demolishers blowing up.. plus you leave a gap between the blade traps.. Good luck with that ;D
It makes me crazy, that you forgot to Upgrade the one Block under the ramp to steel as well 😂 nearly the whole Video long. Everytime you passed this Block 😊😊 Bit nice base and thanks for the video
it's funny that you made a base nearly the same as me a few weeks after me lol, if i knew what you were going to build I'd have told you that cops/rad vultures do spit at you through the ladders even though the spit gets blocked and spiders try jumping at you. also you can pretty comfortably throw grenades and slightly less comfortably pipebombs through these ladders. so in short entities treat these ladders like any other "bullet transparent" block
What exactly is the purpose of reinforcing the inner blocks? Is it just in case the zombies break through the outer ones? Or is it just the principle of not having a weak core?
what are your thoughts on instead of using cubes as pillars you use the 0.05m pole centered as supports so that it almost looks like your base is floating but instead it's just on super thin stilts?
is there reason why ramp/walkway are not 11 blocks height? Should not hurt to have, sure more blocks? PS: oh yeah you world need walkways 11 block away from center too and it might hurt shotgun turrets a bit..
I would love a video detailing the most likely way to get zombies to drop loot bags. O believe killing head shots are the key, but have no actual proof of that.
It's a base rate % by mob in the xml, so 'how' they die doesn't matter. You change it yourself if you want though, or drop in a mod that does it for you.
Let's say that i'm in an online world with my friends and one of my friends has max level advanced engineering. But other players doesn't have it. Do we share the xp from the trap kills or just that one friend gets the xp?
Let me know if I'm misunderstanding something, but would it be better to have the path run counter clockwise rather than the clockwise of this base? Reason being, as the demo's are running their button would be on the side away from your central base and thus reduce the chance that a misplaced shot would set them off? Minor tweek that probably wouldn't do much, just curious if I'm missing something before I try building this base for my Int play through.
with all those corners...I'd want to string electric fences ALONG the runway so they're literally running through them! muah hah! [if only those fences had higher durability, eh?"[
Learning elixirs seem to barely increase the xp you get when upgrading. It does, however, increase the xp you get while mining so you should definitely use it for that. Haven't checked how it affects selling yet though, so if someone could tell me if it's worth using when you sell a bunch of stuff I'd be grateful.
@@stevdor6146 When upgrading it seems like the learning elixer only gives an extra 7 or so xp to the usual 100 xp you get whereas while mining it give you the full 50% buff, so I'd say it's a far better use to use it while mining than while upgrading.
@@stevdor6146 Yeah, I realized it was a 20% not a 50% boost after writing this comment. But it still only gives about a 7% xp increase to upgrading. At least from my testing.
I recently got them in the high 90s somewhere. two of them showed up for a wave. I ended the horde night exactly on stage 100 after the level ups so it should have been something like 96-99
LoL. Not to be "that guy" but wouldn't have been wiser to have the zombies run counter clockwise to have the demolitionists' button to be on the outside? Facing away from the guns in the middle? lol I know it honestly makes no difference, but I just chuckled thinking about you reading this comment and thinking "F*** off"

Man, what a simple and effective base design!

I've been doing an intellect play through due to this series. Thanks for the base design ideas!

Wall safes are also a good bet they’re incredibly hard for zombies to hit from the outside and can be placed anywhere on the sides of blocks
Could have just filled in the cube with a weaker block so there's no risk of zombies glitching in 11:00
or spikes

You may only get 75% xp, but the traps will probably kill twice as many zombies... so it's definitely a win. Nice video!

I have my turrets on an upsidedown steel storage cube shape, its non pathable so spiders won't jump over to them.
I'm not sure if it's important but I think you missed a block right at the base of the ramp
I have one base that has a poundy on the roof and that works well on vultures.

I wish there was maybe a mod or an ammo type for the robotic turrets that will halve the damage but will not hit demo buttons.

Once again Prebuilt proves why he is a Master Prebuilter. And how he is so successful at this Broken, Unfair Game that is made less fun all the time.
Wouldn't you want to build this base higher? Given zombies that fall off will rage if it's this low?
if you made it counter clockwise instead, less likely to hit demo button?

Complete the Lucky Looter series. Bonus perk is increased chance of enemies dropping loot.

New update today. Not sure what they changed. But I'm sure Prebuilt will tell us what changed soon
It would have been nice to see more of the horde night action. As presented it was mostly a blur.
because nothing interesting happened. Hence why it's at 3x speed.
I wish we could dye turrets.
This would set off every demolisher ever. Absolutely not.
did u not want to make it like 11+ blocks high for the same reason as the other base?
can "S" shape is better than circular shape for that base?
with all those corners...I'd want to string electric fences ALONG the runway so they're literally running through them! muah hah!

Robotic turret would still trigger demolition thou? One single path gone.
can you do a horde every night series?
oh i see, going back to get learnin' elixir is our fault, alright, well you're welcome for that point into Pistols then 😛

I'd be worried that the zombies would break the path. Making the path 2 blocks deep is cheap insurance that doesn't happen.
